Petrified wood was designated the state fossil of Arizona in 1988. It was formed from trees alive in Triassic time, over 200 million years ago. These trees grew in high mountain ranges in central Arizona.

since i want to be a beekeeper one day, i would like to share some things i know about bees! every day i will drop a silly little bee fact.

bee fact #2: bees who are used to being handled by beekeepers are often very friendly. after a while, beekeepers do not need to wear their suits (unless they need to do work in the hives). bees will memorize their beekeeper's face and behavior patterns. they are able to recognize that their beekeeper is their caretaker and gives them food! and if beekeepers leave an empty hive, bees will store extra honey in that hive specifically for the beekeeper. the beekeepers don't need a suit to collect honey from the empty hive because the bees know that honey is specifically reserved as a gift c:

Fun animal fact:
Nacked Mole Rats live in giant colonies but only the dominant female - the queen - can breed. Her presence literally causes the other females to be technically infertile. However, once the queen dies or looses to another female, the winning female's reproductive hormones "activate", thus allowing her to breed and become the new queen.

Hi! This is request 4 I would love some gb or the jag.

fun fact: back to paleontology facts bc they’re my favorites and the ones I know the most!! some dromaeosaurs are thought to share a hunting method with modern day raptors. they are thought to have used the raptor prey restraint method of pouncing on the prey’s back and sinking their sickle shaped claws, one on each foot, into the prey as an anchor. Like many modern day birds, they were able to use their wings to maintain their balance as they ate their prey alive. it’s a bit disturbing to think about being leapt on by a deinonychus and eaten alive as it anchors into your back, but it’s also a very interesting look into how behaviors can stick around and help us see how these dromaeosaurids are so closely related to our modern day birds… or, our modern day dinosaurs!

Did you know that when Alexander the Great's conquest to conquer India failed and his troops were no longer willing to fight, he made them take the roughest route out of spite. Even weirder is that he didn't go back to his home in Macedonia but to one of the places he had conquered previously. He had initially planned for more invasions however he died of what we believe is malaria, his death leading to the fall of the Macedonian Empire and the rise of the Roman Empire, after countless arguments on who would take Alexander's place.

here's a random fact i know: in the late 90s, managers at a restaurant held a contest where the waiter/ess who served the most beer would win a toyota. the employee that won was blindfolded and walked outside, where she was given a toy yoda figurine. the managers had set up the contest as a prank, but she rightfully sued the hell out of them, and as a result won enough money to buy (to quote her lawyer) "any toyota she wants"

Hi this is request 1, I would love the gb! I would like to try and surprise an acquaintance. She helped me out a lot and she was kind when no one would help me, she’d buy me things without a second hesitation. She probably forgot about me but I’d still like to surprise her with a jag!
