Be prepared to notice major changes in this thread! It is going under massive re-evaluation and will be edited and changed during this period!Okay, I was letting my lionesses out to hunt and I placed one in a village and thought: 'Hey, wouldn't it be cool if they could get sick or hurt?' and that's what this thread is about! I've done my research and have found diseases that lions can get in the wild, as well as injuries. With the disease and injuries comes death. Now, before the major edit, there were varying degrees of death depending on the disease or injury. Like last time, your main lion CANT die no matter how bad of a condition he's in. Lionesses, sub males and cubs on the other hand.... Can die, be prevented from doing certain tasks and such. I've decided that no matter the injury, there is up to a 13% chance of a lioness/cub/sub dying if the wound is severe. (the reason being that I wanted it to be 25, then 10, then five. I averaged them and got 13.) There are many injuries that a lion/cub/lioness can get and possibly die from. But even though they can die, it's only if you ignore their wounds for long enough and don't treat them properly. Remember that the higher stats your sub/cub/lioness has, the lower chance they have of getting injured in the first place! After much debate on the matter of this thread being about a game mode or not, I have decided that no, this wouldn't be a game mode. Instead, I have decided that this would be the full of Lioden. However, before you cuss me out or something, let me explain! This had been modified. (December 29, 2016 if you're wondering) Now, this would be a much more forgiving and less frightening version of the previous thread. Less stats are needed for a lion to thrive successfully and injuries will be much easier to treat. Not only that, herbs are easier to find. Injuries also have a percentage of chance now. There are more common injuries, and less common. That will be explained below. The Stat Immunity ScaleCubs: With NO training (starting at 5 months old) |

People, didn't you read the whole thing? They said that it could be a game mode, in which this suggestion is the 'survival mode'. You don't need to turn it on, it's a choice. Please stop with the "I don't want my lions dying". Sheesh. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Having it optional is pointless. Everyone on Lioden is so scared of losing their lions, no one would use it. It's it either do or don't and I say do. It's about time this lion sim started actually looking like a lion sim. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Of course people are scared of losing their lions, breeding is a huge part of this website and a lot of people focus on 'breeding projects', (whether it be for bases, markings, stats, etc.) If something like this was forced onto the user base without an option to avoid it, people would probably just leave the website. Most play LD casually, it's not meant to be something that makes you sweat and cross your fingers after doing minuscule things. 0 players like this post! Like? |

"Breeding is a huge part of the website" Lol understatement of the century right there. Firstly, it wouldn't be "forced". Seems like a lot of people so far seem to like it. 4/5 roughly. 0 players like this post! Like? |

@Jackster, Ray, Ambers Skyward Prince, Cake, Xiinos Yes, but the thing about the broodmothers is that this is A mode. It's not mandatory to play. The entire suggestion is based off the fact that some people want a bigger challenge. It is an option for those who want a more brutal game play (like me) that is much like a lion's actual life. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Okay, I need opinions for this! I was thinking about how people might switch a lot, and like thought about maybe having two different prides, one for each mode? It might take up a ton of server space though... I don't know, I need opinions halp!! 0 players like this post! Like? |

Dear, read the post! Your main male CAN NOT die! And a lion would only die if they 1) got bit by a snake, which has a 1% chance of happening. Even if it does happen, lions in real life have the incredible ability of sleeping off venom. They can usually withstand a bite from a black mamba or snakes of the sort. 2) if their wounds are neglected for long enough! If the latter were to EVER happen, it would be your own fault. 0 players like this post! Like? |

and no, lions in real life cant sleep off black mamba vemon, thats the honey badger. and the only reason the honey badger is able to sleep is off is because they spend their first years building up immunity to toxins slowly. very much unlike the lion. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I would support if there was a certain stat point where your lion couldn't die, say 1000 stats there would be a 0% percent chance of death. Breeding for stats is very tricky and time consuming and having a future stat replacer or high stat mutie die on you in a stroke of bad luck would be very annoying and a money drain :/ I do like the idea of this not being forced on you though and being an option. Makes the game more interesting for people willing to take a chance :) 0 players like this post! Like? |

@ SnarkyUnicorn Yes, they can. I've watched them do it in multiple documentaries. In one, a lioness was bitten by a BLACK MAMBA and SURVIVED! They're not immune to it, no, but they can survive it. And after they've been bitten, they'll sleep to get the venom to exit their system more quickly. I know the honey badger can too. I'm not an idiot. This is the kind of animal trivia a baby learns while watching Wild Kratts. And you don't have to spend money on LioDen. If you do, then it's you who wasted that money, not anyone else. And what am I supposed to think when someone comes crying about how much money they spend on lions on the game, complaining about things that people who DON'T read the thread complain about? You know, like 'I spent so much on my king, I don't want him to die!' Probably that they didn't read the entire thread. Because it says that your king can not die. A thousand people have come complaining about that exact thing. The first thing I ask them is 'did you read the entire thread?', and 100% of their responses were: 'Well, no...', so do you see why comments like that trigger me? I don't care if you support or not, as far as the thread goes, you're in the minority. @ KenCat Yeah, stat breeding is pretty dang hard. I've always done it; the minute I joined LioDen, I was a stat breeder . It can be quite difficult, I agree. It's a pain. I really do like the idea of having a 0% chance of dying for a certain stat level. That would be quite interesting! Perhaps maybe lions 800+? I would have to think on it. 0 players like this post! I love this idea. I mainly play in a survival mode already so with this added will certainly add to making my lions better, stronger and maybe more so healthier (My opinion). It may even give herbs a better use then just for bugs as i have a ShaSeer whose the herblist in my pride. ^ ^ 0 players like this post! Like? |
