Only accepted characters may post here Sign up here! Hunting Thread You have left your forest home, left without your pack. The earthquake shook a massive hole in your life. Now, you search for the Valley of Hope and for a new pack to share your life with. Before each post you must put this: With Alpha's name's Pack Character name || Sex || Age || Rank This is to make sure there is no confusion. Occasionally I will post plot updates, with weather/prey/landscapes coming into play. You’ll see what I mean after I’ve done this a few times. Every update will have ‘Plot Update’ written before it. Please take your time with your responses, and allow at least couple of people to post their own replies before you post again, even if you’re only interacting with one person at the time. This makes sure replies are well thought out, nobody is controlling someone else’s character, and everyone has the chance to get involved in whatever happens before the RP moves on from that. Pack hunts will be arranged every so often by the alpha. I will set up a hunting thread that I will link here. Once the alpha has chosen the hunters you will RP that your character has left with the hunting party, and then switch to the hunting thread to RP the hunt. This is so that characters in the hunt and in the rest of the pack don’t get confused about who is where. I find it makes things much easier to follow this way. You may hunt small prey alone here, but group hunting must be done away from the pack, in the hunting thread. You will then RP your return here, and either bring the prey or lead the pack to the prey, all in this thread. Only hunting will take place in the hunting thread. My rule of at least four sentences per post is absolute. If you don’t follow this you will get a strike by your name. Three strikes and you will no longer be allowed to rp here. I may remove a strike if you post a lot of detail in your next few posts. Strikes Nobody :3 let’s keep it that way, yeah? The last thing to say is have fun everyone! Current Plot Update The wolf pack travelled across the soaked plains and have come to the base of the mountain. The rains have passed for now and the sun shines down. However, they must make the decision to either go around or over the mountains. They will soon encounter new wolves, but whether this be a good or bad encounter is up to their choice! Spring is still here and flowers will soon bloom. Character SheetsNo thread generated. The original poster of this RP thread will be able to generate one for this feature.0 players like this post! Dakota | Male | 2 years | Undecided rank Dakota was caught off-guard at Mariposa's reaction. He stared at her shocked, but then grinned. He loved rough housing with his siblings, ever since he was a pup. To him, this was no different. He kicked his rear legs and rolled on top of her. His ears turned backwards against his head and the fur between his shoulders stood straight up. He pulled his upper lip back, revealing his teeth and let a deep growl escape his throat. He opened his mouth slightly, ready to bite her if things got serious. He was fairly strong, considering his background, but she was strong too. If they were to get into a serious battle, he wasn't 100% confident he's win, which made him slightly uneasy. Cyber | Female | 3 years | Undecided rank Cyber realized Kodo was uncomfortable and cocked her head in confusion. Then, something caught her attention. Dakota and Mariposa were fighting. She was about to run over and stop them, but decided to let them figure it out. Maybe this could help the alphas decide ranks. Instead she watched Velvet for her reaction. In a way, this was good for their alphas to prove themselves. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 12/08/15 by NightSky01 (#52637) |

Mariposa|Female|3 years|Undecided Mariposa snarled as she then used her rear legs to lift him him up so she could roll out from under him. She couldn't kick him off. She leapt up to her paws and, with hackles raised, she leapt into the air and pounced on him, pushing him down. It was hard, but she collapsed onto him, putting all her dead weight onto him. He was strong, but she was older and more experienced. She realized her move might not work so she rolled away and got to her paws again and shook her fur, sending a fur leaves to the ground. 0 players like this post! Like? Nova | | Female | | 3 years | | Undecided Rank Nova sat on a huge boulder on top of the grassy hillside, a small forest with a rock outcropping in the distance, watching with amazement and some sadness as the cloudy star filled onyx sky gave way to the light blues, pinks and yellows of the morning sun. She loved the night as much as she loved rain storms, both were departing with the coming of morning. The air held the fresh scent of rain that had fallen during the night and though Nova watched it leave with a heavy heart she knew she would never forget the sight or scent because her own unique smell held a startling similarity to that of freshly fallen rain though it didn't compare to the real thing. While her pelt looked like the starry night sky had decided to take the form of a wolf. She was thankful of the portable reminders and the beauty and happiness they represented. Romak, her mentor, had once told her that each star in the sky represented a good creature that had passed on, whether it had fur, feathers, skin or scales. She had loved her Mentor like a grandfather and missed him dearly; sometimes when she looked up at the night sky she felt a little less lonely knowing that he was watching. It had been almost a month since the earthquake struck taking away her mentor and the only home she had ever known and deep in her heart Nova wished for the company of her own kind once again. Nova sighed knowing she should move, her onyx fur was very obvious in the morning light and creatures had become desperate in the aftermath of the huge earthquake, the larger predators wouldn't mind snacking on a small lone wolf if given the chance. The wolves she had met so far had been very unfriendly, the males having less than honorable intentions and the females seeing only competition. Yesterday she had heard howling coming from the small forest with the rock outcropping, she had even seen movement on the rock and had been able to make out the forms of several wolves. Ro, Nova's magpie travelling companion, had taken an unusual interest in the forest clearing often circling over it, then coming back, then circling over it. He was probably confused as to why she had not tried to join the pack that was obviously forming. The truth was that she had never been a part of a pack and wasn't sure of the strange wolves she had seen. Dominance was an issue, she knew herself to be quite dominant...dominant enough to rival Romak who she knew had once been an alpha a very long time ago. The howls coming from the clearing had been mostly confident and Nova was hesitant to fight, she was generally a peaceful wolf, but her dominance insisted on butting in...she would fight for a high position in the pack. Her mind struggling, Nova watched as the black dot circling in the sky slowly became clearer transforming into the black, white and shiny blue of her magpie friend. "What do you think Ro?" Nova asked as the magpie landed. He didn't answer...as usual, he was an intelligent bird but a bird none the less and he did not speak in any language that Nova knew. Well, other than body language Nova amended as the bird tilted it's head and looked at her. "A lot of help you are." Nova scoffed humor in her startling blue eyes."Talking to you is almost as bad as talking to myself!" Nova looked back at the rock outcropping unsure of what to do. ( It's long didn't want to get to far left behind.) 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 14/08/15 by Astral (#65000) |

Velvet || Female || 4 years || Undecided rank Velvet’s appearance Dakota’s question had also been lingering in Velvet’s mind. Kade had enough scars over her body to prove there was a story to tell, and the femme wanted to hear it. Velvet herself had no scars, having always prided in the perfection of her pelt and so avoided combat whenever necessary. Velvet sat and glanced over at Kade, watching the grin appear on her face. She couldn’t help but smile, glad that whatever stories the scars held they weren’t ones that upset her to be asked about. Velvet shook her head at the femme’s first story. ”It’s a time of hardship and she tries to overhaul the pack structure…that doesn’t exactly strike me as a good alpha. It’s a good thing you won that fight, Kade.” Kade’s second story saddened Velvet. Whenever she heard of pups being in danger the emotion took over. The only time she’d ever put herself up to fight before someone else stepped in was if a pup was in danger. Then, without thinking, she’d gladly stand before the danger immediately without thinking through the situation. Suddenly, at the story, she thought of another question. ”Kade…did you ever have your own pups?” She asked the question delicately, not wanting to upset her but wanting to find out more about her pack mate. ”Wow,” Velvet exclaimed, ”That must have been quite the experience.” She couldn’t imagine being trapped by human objects. ”At some point I’d be very interested to hear the rest of your stories,” she wagged her tail. Knowing Kade was once an alpha was very important to Velvet. Now Remington’s mate, she’d need to be able to help him in any duties of an alpha. Having never been one before, the fact that her new friend and pack mate had that experience was going to be invaluable. She was eager to learn, to keep this new pack together and strong. Velvet grinned at Dakota’s teasing, chuckling a little. She was glad everyone was getting to know each other, testing out the waters. She stood back up in shock when Mariposa suddenly reacted by pinning the male, who wrestled back. She sighed and chose to just wait, alert, for if the fight turned bad. They would all need to battle or talk for dominance and submission; that was part of settling into the pack. If she stepped in then it would only cause issues later on, but she didn’t want it to escalate too far. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 13/08/15 by Rusty [MP] (Quad celestial) (#39276) |

Sollux || Male || 4 years, 2 months || Undecided Sollux examined the pack memebers, and then sat. Upon spotting Velvet, the new alphess, and rose back to his pillars. "Greetings, how are you all?" He inquired, and flicked his tail. He gazed upon the dancing shadows as the sun filtered through the leaves, before proceeding to look up through the holes. "'Tis a beautiful day, is it not?' He said, a slight smile coming onto his usually frowning jaw. Upon looking back to the others, Velvet, Dakota, and Kade, he examined each one of them. "I am Sollux, by the way, though I do believe Velvet knows of that." (Short, sorry. Bit of writers block.) Addressed to: Velet, Dakota, Kade. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Kade || Female || 5 years || Undecided With a slight laugh, Kade nodded. "Yes, she wouldn't have made a good alpha, and she didn't have a mate. Males need females to balance them. Remington needs you just like my mate needed me. Most females cannot stand alone, either, though I am confident that I could have been a decent alpha by myself. I wouldn't have wanted to. Wolves such as we were never meant to be solitary creatures, and though I do like time alone, I find joy in a pack, as well." Kade was overtaken by sadness as Velvet asked about cubs. For a moment, she just sat there, then managed, "We . . . we tried. For three years. And we never could figure out if it was something with him or something with me and neither of us was willing to mate with another to find out." She regained her composure and held her head a bit higher. Her eyes betrayed sadness but her face was a warning not to ask. "I'd love to tell you, but I don't think that now is the time. All of my stories would take a moon and a half," she said, attempting a laugh. Kade, too, saw the scuffle going on and watched with interest. "Well, it's good that everyone is becoming comfortable with each other," she pointed out, though she was prepared to step in if anything happened. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Remington || Male || 4 years || Alpha Remington's Face Remington's Body(more muscle though) As Remington had remained under the shading of the boulder looking at the wolves, his attention on Velvet changed as a new male came in the clearing. Remington was a bit curious, by first appearance of him, but remained laying under the boulder expecting the male to come introduce himself to him once he was told he was the alpha male. He was not concerned by this male either, for his smell was not threatening, but he was watching Velvet because if he made a move on her he would then interfere. It seems that with the pack growing larger the expected mini fights have started as well. Remington cocked his head to the side slightly as he saw Mariposa pin down Dakota and then Dakota pin Mariposa down. Remington rolled his eyes and chuckled undertone to himself as his tail thumped on the dry dirt below him. He had no intentions of getting between the two of them yet, to him it was there way of establishing who would end up being more dominant then the other and who would have to be the submissive one. Remington watched, he wanted to see the outcome and the individuals moves and strengths he would soon be determining everyone's place in the pack and anything and everything was part of his decision. Remington felt as if he would come off as anti-social as he lay in the distance under the boulder for some time now, but had been hoping Velvet would join him by his side, but could see that would not happen with the attention from the others she was getting so Remington rose licking his nose and yawning walking closer to the miniature quarrel, and the rest of the pack and Velvet. Remington remained distant seeing if anyone would approach him, he sat himself down and watched keeping his eye still on the new male wolf that had appeared. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Dakota | Male | 2 years | Undecided rank Dakota rolled onto his stomach then stood to his feet, watching Mariposa. He had a stern look in his eye, then lifted his head tall, trying to seem taller and stronger. Then, he chuckled and began jumping around. Eyes wide and tail wagging he frolicked around her, wanting to play. He loved wrestling. He patted her softly on her shoulder and cheek, trying to initiate play. Cyber | Female | 3 years | Undecided Rank Cyber walked over to Dakota and Mariposa. She leaned down, stretching and yawning, then layed on her stomach and began rolling in the grass. She then began batting her paws at Mariposa's legs while she layed on her back, tail wagging. She's been so stressed lately, she just needs some time to goof around and forget about everything that's been going wrong lately. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Nova | | Female | | 3 Years | | Undecided Nova trotted through the tall grass thankful for the shade it cast, the light and shadows would disguise her starry onyx fur even in the morning light. She kept her head down below the top of the grass occasionally looking up to see where Ro was circling, knowing he was above the small forest with the large rock outcropping. After a lot of internal turmoil Nova had decided to try and join the pack, it had become a decision between logic and feelings and this time a compromise had not been an option. The heart had won in the end, she needed a family, wolves to protect and backup, as well as wolves to guard her back. I will have to earn their respect first, she thought to herself flicking her tufted ears. Nova’s mentor had been a superb fighter, whenever he and she had come across a lone wolf or even a pack, the strange wolves had been on guard. Just the way he carried himself had shown others that he was dangerous, he had been a bigger wolf so he had to adapt his fighting style when he had taught her what he knew. “Don’t try to use your weight against bigger animals.” He had said. “ Instead use their weight against them, you have an extra advantage when you meet with other creatures, they will underestimate you. You are very small for a wolf and they will expect you to use your speed and agility, use those things, but remember to never be predictable.” Romak had taught her well and the month she had spent as a lone wolf defending herself had cemented her learning. Unbeknownst to her she held herself in a similar fashion to that of her dead mentor: like one of the big striped hunting cats of the north. Nova stilled her roaming thoughts as she entered the woods. She had purposely placed herself downwind of the wolves in case one of them happened to have the foaming disease. She did not want to come to such a horrible end nor did she want to meddle with unstable wolves. To her relief she did not smell anything to cause alarm, she crouched down in the bushes at the edge of the clearing knowing the light and shadows, along with her slight swaying motion made her invisible to the wandering eye. Despite this and the fact that she was downwind of the wolves Nova knew it was only a matter of time before they discovered her. Inevitably their five senses would pick up small oddities that would normally be nothing to worry about alone, perhaps a twinkle of blue light reflecting off her slightly closed eyes, a sudden silence of the animals where she sat or even Nova’s soft rain-like scent carried on a gust created from a bird’s feathers These small warnings would eventually make some of the wolves uneasy resulting in them studying their surroundings closer and spotting her. Nova took the small amount of time she had to study the many wolves in the clearing . Three wolves stood out to her for multiple reasons. A big dominant merle male and a average sized beautiful light gray she-wolf with a brown markings on her back and face these two shared each others sent and dominance and were probably mates, Nova noticed the male protectively watching the female on and off while she in turn cast possessive glances in his direction. The third wolf that caught her attention was medium sized and also carried a lot of dominance, she was brown with multiple scars and had serious no nonsense stance. Nova decided that the first two wolves were likely the alphas of the pack not only because of their dominance but also because of the respect and submissive stances the other wolves showed them. The third also held herself like an alpha but was also deferring to the other two wolves, Nova was hesitant to say that she was beta because the other wolves did not behave correctly when around her. Either way she would be competition and would be a great friend or a horrible enemy. Nova continued to watch the wolves from her hiding place waiting to see who spotted her first and who ignored the uneasy feeling that was sometimes vital for survival. (Hey, I tried to darken the speech part of the text in google doc's but it wouldn't show up a bold here can someone tell me how to do that?) Raoula|Female|4 years old|Undecided Raoula noticed the flash of light on feathers and looked up to see a magpie, circling high in the sky above her. The sun caught the blue sheen on its' wings as it flew slowly round and round. She stared at it for a while, before noticing a soft rustle in the grass just below it. Fixing her eyes determinedly on the grass, she walked forward a few paces, one eye on the magpie while the other eye was fixed on the place where she saw the grass move. She stopped again, seeing a scuff mark in the dust which looked suspiciously like a wolf pawprint. She sniffed at it; the unmistakeable scent of another wolf hung faintly around it. She stiffened and cats her gaze over the grass again, then drew slowly but steadily closer, until she could just glimpse a pelt, black as the night sky, in the grass. She could tell by scent that was a she-wolf; she reminded Raoula of Elihu. Her fur was a bit like his. She snuffled at the grass, picking up more scent, then lifted herself to her full height and strode closer to the other wolf, so the female could definitely see her. "Hello," she said, in a somewhat nervous voice which shook slightly. She still wasn't used to being dominant over other wolves. Well, she sensed she wouldn't be dominant over the femme if she joined the pack, but since she was an outsider Raoula could assume a dominant position. Head and tail up, tail quivering with the effort of forcing it to stay upright, the grey she-wolf peered at the other wolf. "This is my pack," she said, hoping her voice sounded commanding. "If you want to join, I can ask our alphas. What's your name, by the way?" Raoula was now slightly curious, and did not know what to make of this new wolf. Aatu|Male|5 years old|Undecided Aatu yawned and stretched out in the sun, feeling the warmth of the sunshine on his fur. His eyes closed blissfully as wolves talked around him. Suddenly, he noticed a commotion and saw two wolves scuffling. He couldn't quite place their names; there were a lot of new faces around he hadn't gotten to know yet. He could see that it was a playful fight, and as he watched it broke apart, with no serious injuries to either of the two. Grinning, letting his tongue loll happily, Aatu surveyed his new pack. What of his old pack? All dead and gone. Hr missed them...well, he missed some of them. But these wolves seemed far nicer. He could build a new life with them. He saw the alpha male, Remington, come forward a little to look at his pack. Aatu got to his paws and padded over to him, tail wagging. As he neared the blue merle male, he dropped to his belly and rolled over as a sign of respect. Then he got to his paws again and spoke. "Hello," he said. "Have you been thinking about ranks? I suppose it must be tough, having to decide who does what." 0 players like this post! Like? |

Twist || Female || 4 Years || Omega Twist suppresses a growl as the wolf steps backwards and manages to walk on her splayed paw. "No, of course not." She says with a pleasant smile, instead of making the wolf who was quite obviously an omega feel unwelcome. "Please do not show submission to me. In my old pack, I was the omega." She looks the male over, worried that perhaps she may not act enough of the omega part anymore. The problem was, here, she didn't feel like an omega. The rank was part of her, but the submission just wasn't there like it used to be. These wolves treated her with the same respect they would any other pack mate. And this, this little fact, it scared her more than any wound they could inflict on her. She realized with a wince she had reopened the gash on her side, blood once more dripping onto the ground. She was no medicine wolf, she only knew how to stop bleeding, not heal a wound. When he tail was severed, she had had to find another pack to help her. This cut was not going to pleasantly heal without help. Lyall || Male || 3 Years || Undecided Lyall scans over the positions of the pack, searching for the one they all congregated around. His eyes rest on a blue merle male and a very pretty female, both who seemed to be the center of submission. His eyes wander to a brown femme beside them, one who seemed to hold dominance but the term beta just didn't feel right. It was as though she was an alpha forced into a lower rank. How odd. He turns his gait towards them, inclining his head to the one he assumed was alpha. "Greetings. I am Lyall, formerly alpha of the pack two territories south." He introduces, with respect in his tone. To many, his dominant air would seem challenging, but the fact was that he had never been taught to be submissive. He quite simply just didn't know how to do it. None of it was on his nature, or rather had been weeded out. He didn't have bad intentions, which was obvious by his wagging tail, but he also didn't look like he belonged in a pack with chosen alphas. 0 players like this post! Like? Kodo || Male || 4 Years || Rank Undecided Kodo's Mugshot Kodo glanced her over a moment, hearing her words and of course believing them. No wolf so battered and abused could be anything else, save perhaps a very stupid and careless hunter. She didn't seem to be either, and besides, that Omega smell was something he could pick up a mile away. It made him feel a bit more comfortable, at least with this one he didn't have to pretend he was tough. He crept in a little closer, shaking his head a bit. "I know that. I'm sure you know I was too, I just..." With that, all at once he seemed to realize how brutal her treatment had been. He almost felt a bit ashamed for hating his own life as much as he had, it could have been so much worse. He looked her over a bit more, tempted to return his attention to the scuffle and resulting crowd, but he noticed the wound on her side. "Oh no, was that me? I'm sorry, I didn't think I bumped you that hard!" He chirped, walking over to that side of her. His nose jutted out to sniff at the spot, and just short of licking it for her he stopped himself with a nervous look. "Do you mind?" He asked hastily, knowing somebody had to tend to it but still unwilling to make any sort of contact without permission. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Dakota | Male | 2 years old | Undecided Rank Dakota stopped and stared at the male wolf approach Remington. Instantly, he stopped playing and became aggressive. He lowered his head, watching them from a distance. The fur on his neck began to rise and his ears folded back against his head. He watched for a while longer before trotting over. He held his head high and stood beside the alpha. He stared at the stranger with a stern look in his eye. He puffed his chest out and stood tall. He was born in a big family, and have been in many fights, so he wasn't worried. With Remington, Velvet, and Kade close by, the stranger would be stupid to attack. Dakota said nothing, and simply stood there. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Kade || Female || 5 years || Undecided Kade looked up as a new male approached their small group. When no one said anything, she tilted her head. "Hello," she began. "As you can see, we are a newly formed pack. Remington and Velvet are our alphas. If you'd like to join us, you'll need to speak with them." She was bristled slightly, though. All these survivor wolves, except Azazel, had all been friendly and it was starting to unnerve her. The she-wolf looked at Velvet to see how she reacted. Rivers || Female || 3 years || Undecided Rivers stood in awe of Kade's stories. "I'd like to hear more, as well," she agreed, then caught her eye and followed her gaze to the new male that stood in their midst. It wasn't her place to greet him until Velvet and Remington decided on whether or not to accept him, but he did seem interesting. Almost unwillingly, her own gaze was drawn to Dakota. He was cute and she liked the way he was waiting for Remington to decide on what to do . . . But perhaps, with the new alpha pair, she was a little ready to find her own mate, as well. It was unlikely he was also attracted to her so she would wait to see if he approached her and if not she would not pursue him. 0 players like this post! Like? |
