Velvet’s appearance

Velvet grinned, glad Remington had come to the same decision about Kade. If she was going to stand by his side and help him lead the pack then it was good to know that they could think along the same lines. ”Hopefully everyone will be satisfied, but if not then I can only hope fighting doesn’t escalate too far.” Normal wolf packs consisted of a group of relatives who’d grown into the ranks they had. For a big group of strangers to come together and be expected to form a cohesive unit was a big task, and there were sure to be disagreements, but given how well everything had gone so far she had hope for the group.

The silver femme laughed at her mate’s words. She had indeed had an easy time of falling into a rank. ”That’s true,” she nodded, ”Though had things worked differently I fully expect I would have become a pup sitter, and not many wolves would fight to take that role away.” Many packs considered pup sitters to be the lowest of the rank, only slightly above omega, but Velvet saw it differently. They may not hunt or fight much, but they were the ones who protected and taught the future of the pack. They ensured the pack’s line would carry on. Whether a pup was destined to be an alpha or an omega wasn’t the worry of a pup sitter, each pup was a special blessing on the pack to them and they would fight to protect each and every one.

She watched Remington go over to greet a new female and tilted her head. A magpie sat comfortably on the new wolf, as if they were acquainted. She’d never seen anything like it. She studied the dark pelted femme for a few moments, making up her mind to ask about it later. Her old pack had lived deep in a dense forest. The few birds that entered their small clearing soon scattered once the playful yearlings found them.

After Remington announced ranks Cyber started talking to Velvet again. ”Congratulations on being a pup sitter. You’ll have a lot of fun. Right now there’s only Luna, but she’s friendly and seems like she could do with some company.” She laughed at the femme’s question and her gaze flickered to Remington before moving back. ”I’d love pups, of course,” she smiled, ”but I think that’s something I should really talk to Remington about first.” Given how strong her maternal feelings were just with other wolves’ pups, Velvet knew she’d love her own litter no matter what, even more so now that she actually had a mate to think about sharing raising them with.

As Cyber moved to talk to Luna, Remington returned to her side. She laughed as he lay there, nipping at her paws, and batted him on the nose playfully. When he showed his underbelly she seized the opportunity to jump up and pin him. Her eyes full of mirth, the playful mood of her mate catching, she leant down to nip at his neck gently. ”Got you,” she teased, licking over where she’d nipped before jumping back to let him stand.

Immediately she ducked into a play bow, rump swaying and tail raised high, enticing him to play while the others thought over their new ranks and readied themselves to leave. She jumped up quickly to push his side with both front paws, before dropping back into her play bow. She tilted her head, hoping he’d accept the invitation to play for a short while before the journey began.

Plot Update
The pack have accepted the wolves they found after their hunt, and ranks have been assigned. Now, they must prepare for their long journey to the Valley of Hope. Ahead is half a day’s travel through the woodland, before the trees will give way to an open plain of grass none of them have seen before. Only when they break from the trees will they see that far ahead, past the open, flat plains that look void of all life except grass, are tall mountains rising above the horizon. Their destination lies far beyond these mountains, and they must make the choice to go over them or take the long route around the huge range. The clouds beginning to form suggest a heavy spring downpour will happen half way through their crossing of the flat plains, and they must handle the soaking, and the sticky, muddy surface that will follow.

Remington's Face Remington's Body(more muscle though)

As Dakota reached Remington he listened in, hearing the male ask if he had though about pups made him fidget a little a chuckle inside. "It isn't inappropriate at all, you are one of the few males in this pack and will gladly talk to you as a brother if you please. Of course I have thought about them, honestly what male doesn't think about females and mating? But no since I had made Velvet my mate I realized we will need to have pups, but I want to make sure that when she has them, won't be a bad time in our journey, you get what I mean?" As Remington finished and had gone over to Nova and back and started playing with Velvet, he saw her turning up the level of play and intrigued him quite a bit.

As Velvet had pinned him teasing, he couldn't help but wish she was in heat now. He wouldn't have thought of that but with everyone asking about pups he couldn't help but have that idea plastered in his mind. As she was over him he brushed his tail under along her belly, licking her muzzle. He then watched her get off and go into another playful bow. He was glad she had decided to have fun and play back. Yes Remington was large, strong, and intimidating to some, but he really did have a very soft side to him that usually surprised most.

As Velvet stuck her rump in the air he created a wolfish grin standing walking around Velvet in a circle looking her up and down while grinning. As he walked around her watching her while she was still in a playful bow he nipped at her sides, when he came around to the front of her he stood and quickly got down into a playful bow himself before throwing his front end over Velvet's neck , almost like a wolf head lock, nipping at her ear. Then he quickly brought his two back legs over her and ran to behind her nipping at her rump and tail, batting his paw at her. With the rush of energy he got he barked deep and loud, starting to run around again. "I am crazy addicted to you" He said to Velvet looking at her still running around her teasing rubbing up along her if he could.

Nova | | Female | | 3 Years | | Fighter

Nova listened to Remington and Velvet list the ranks taking note of the names of each wolf. When she heard her own rank was fighter Nova was surprised and impressed by the two alphas observation skills. Kade was named Beta and she stood with confidence and pride at the declaration looking at her pack mates with something akin to love. This confused Nova, she did not want to fight a wolf that would so obviously make a good beta. So why did she want the position? Looking deep into her heart Nova soon realized it wasn’t only her alpha like dominance that urged her to take the position, though it was annoying she could easily suppress it when around other dominant wolves when necessary.

I don’t trust these wolves.,Nova thought with surprise and sadness, before her time as a loner after the earthquake she would have bounded playfully into the clearing joking around with the new and interesting wolves. Now, though after all I have seen in that long month... Nova thought to herself remembering one of the many horrifying sights; this one of pack members turning on each other in hunger and desperation. Cannibalism... Nova shook her head violently dislodging Ro, pawing at her tufted ears in an effort to erase the terrible memory. Ro landed on the ground making a concerned chuckling sound in his throat before gently rubbing his beak against Novas paw.

There was an aura of distress around the small onyx starry hided wolf and Ro could remember times this strange behavior had happened before; though he didn’t understand why she was distressed. Their bellies were full,the sun was shining and she had found some of her own kind, little could the simple bird know that it was those wolves that were unknowingly digging up the memories Nova had tried to ignore.

Nova looked at the magpie thankful for his comfort. He had been with her during that horrible month and though he had seen the same things she had, it did not bother him, simply because he didn’t know better. Looking at the wolves around her Nova ignored her memories trying to see these wolves as how they were, instead of replacing them with the wolves she had seen. They were a playful and proud lot….caring. I have found a new enemy… Nova thought with irony as her memories came rushing back to the surface, ...myself.

Nova hardened her stance, she had never given in to any enemy and she wasn’t going to start now. Walking up to Kade, Nova dipped her head in respect. “ Congratulations on your rank Kade, I hope it gives you much joy.” Looking around after she had talked to Kade Nova wondered what a fighter would do with no enemies. Not that I want any, Nova thought,....but it is important to me to feel like I am helping the pack all the time and not just when danger arrives.

Trying to distract herself Nova saw Cyber, the new pup sitter, sitting next to a pup. Luna looked irritated not with Cyber but with everyone in general. Change is hard for the little ones, Nova thought remembering the day she had been washed up on a riverside in a strange land with a strange old male wolf standing above her. She had been grumpy for almost a week after that incident despite Romak’s efforts to cheer her up. An idea sparked into Nova’s mind and she nudged her magpie and pointed her nose in the direction of the lonely pup. Seeing the pup Ro gave a crow of happiness and landed next to Luna playfully picking up her tail and giving it a gentle tug. The action sparked the memory of why Ro loved pups so much…. the wounded pup I adopted during my month as a loner... Nova flinched violently away from her most painful memory pushing it deep into the hidden corners of her mind.

Walking up to Cyber, Nova asked a question. " Is it okay if my magpie, Ro, plays with Luna? He loves pups and he’ll be very gentle, you won’t have to worry about Luna hurting him, he is a very smart and quick bird. It might take her mind of the fact that she doesn't have any other pups to play with." Nova lowered herself down with sigh suddenly very tired, she crossed her onyx paws and curled her tail around her side, licking it clean like a cat, one of the many habits she had gained from her mentor who had been raised by a pride of lions and pale two leggers in a great caged savannah somewhere to the south east. I miss the old rascal… Nova thought tears in her throat, laying her head on her paws while waiting for Cyber to reply and for the pack’s journey to begin.

Sol gave a slight confused frown. "Have we?" He said, halfly asking himself. He shrugged. "Yes, company is nice, though, I will admit, I've never much been one for the company of others. You seemed appealing." He looked about. "In the most friendly manner, that is, dear Rivers," he quickly corrected, and looked back to her.

"Do you like it here?" He inquired. "I find it most...brilliant to be here," he had paused a moment to find the proper word and effect, "Very exciting and such. No point in being a old hermit cooped up in a den your whole life, aye?" He chuckled, slightly nervous.

Rivers glanced over at Dakota and flashed him a smile; the male seemed to be talking to the alphas. Then she returned her attention to Sollux. "Yes, I think we have; I was with Aatu earlier. And I do like it here," she decided. "I mean, I don't know how a pack this big and unrelated is going to function properly, but I'm sure Remington, Velvet, and Kade can keep everyone in line." He was right, it was brilliant. She liked it here a lot. Rivers laughed as he called her 'appealing'.

"I wouldn't exactly call myself 'appealing'. When I was little, some of the other wolves made fun of me about my pelt because it isn't just one solid color. And I don't have stories to tell like Kade. I can't fight too well, but I guess I can hunt. I suppose I'm just . . . Ordinary," Rivers said, laughing a little at herself. He probably didn't care anyways. She was no one interesting.

"Yes, especially since the both of them are quite young. The pack I came from, one of the packs before the quake, had two strong, experience leaders. They were both around 5 years of age." He examined the pair playing about. "Yes, I suppose they will." Then he gave a small smile as he remembered who she was. "Oh yes! I do remember now. I'm getting a bit old, yes?" He teased.

Then he gave a sort of frown at her next comment. "Not appealing?" he said, slightly dumbfounded. "I think, personally, that you are quite beautiful, and genuinely unique." He paused to giver her a slightly stern look. "You, dearest Rivers, are very far from ordinary, and anyone who ever says otherwise should feel ashamed for not seeing the majesty in one such as yourself." Then, he found himself blushing at his many compliments and wise speak. He look away, his eyes trained on a cloud.

Twist || Female || 4 Years || Omega

Twist lets out a low sigh, laying off in a distant corner of the makeshift camp. She stares at her paws, wondering what her life would be like now. She was still an omega in these wolf's eyes, and she hadn't the slightest clue how they would treat her. Now knowing her position and where she stood, her personality was slowly started to resort to what she knew an omega shoul be like, but she didn't want this. She was so useless, always managing to put herself at the bottom. She simply couldn't do anything right. She had killed a fawn for the pack, but injured herself. She had tried to make friends, but ad reopened said injury. She doubted anyone wished to be around such a pathetic creature.

Lyall || Male || 3 Years || Fighter

Lyall yawns, bored. He wasn't unsatisfied with his ranking, but he certainly wasn't used to being a submissive. He wasn't exactly sure who he should speak to in this pack. He hoped someone would walk up to him and strike up a conversation. He didn't wish to appear too confident and put off the alpha, but he certainly wasn't going to take shit from anyone. He simply wasn't that kind of wolf. He twitches as he feels an itch behind his right ear and lifts his foot, scratching away at said scratch. He loses his balance, staggering a moment before falling flat on his face. He lets out a surprised yelp before scrambling back to his paws, completely embarrassed for a mom's before fixing his stance as if nothing had happened, though his eyes flitted from side to side to see if anyone had observed his grace and his chest moved with quick, slightly uneven breaths.

Dakota saw Rivers smile at him and he smiled back. Finally, he decided to talk to her. He approached her and the male and listened for a moment before speaking. "Liking your ranks?" He asked, smiling. He looked at the male waiting for a response, then at Rivers. He looked away, embarrassed, after realising he had been staring.

"Well, that's up to Luna," she said to Nova, smiling. "I love your friend," she tells her, watching Ro. "Interesting," Cyber saw that the female was tired and decided to let her sleep in peace. She stood to her feet and began walking towards Mariposa when she heard a yelp. Concerned, she approached the male. "Are you okay?" She asked him, looking for injury.

Rivers jumped slightly as Dakota came up. She was blushing, because she wasn't used to receiving complements, but it didn't show through her fur. "You're too kind," she murmured to Sollux. He would be a good friend, she could tell. Then she returned her attention to Dakota. "Yes; I think I'll do well as a scout," she answered him. "What do you think about Kade? I bet she's thrilled." A few wolves, she saw, had gone up to the new beta to congratulate her, and Rivers could see her looking over the pack with pride and affection.


Kade || 5 years || Female || Beta Female

Kade dipped her head to Nova. For a moment, she'd feared the other female would insist upon a fight for dominance, and she hadn't wanted to hurt het too badly for that mistake. She watched the alphas play for a few moments, then noticed Rivers talking to Sollux and Dakota. Did her eyes deceive her, or was there some sort of tension between the brown she-wolf and the lead hunter? Like they were embarrassed about something. Maybe they'd have a new mated pair soon, if the male approached Rivers. Yes, if they had pups, they would be cute. But she was getting ahead of herself.

The beta glanced around, trying to decide if any of the males there would make a good beta. Yes, Dakota was, but he was much too young for her and Rivers seemed to like him. And he was the best option. Without warning, her mind returned to Azazel, and how they'd fought before the hunt. Maybe she had been the one to drive him away, and that had never been what she wanted. And maybe he would have made a good beta, even though he had that air about him that made her slightly uneasy. Kade almost wished he would come back, and Elihu. She wasn't attracted to the latter, but he would be a good beta, and she doubted that any mate she took would be for love, anyways.

Velvet’s appearance

Velvet laughed out, glad that Remington had responded to her invitation to play. The last time she’d truly played with someone had been before the earthquake, with the pups of her old pack. There had been a time shortly after the earthquake when she thought she’d never be happy again. She’d not wanted to get close to other wolves, or play or smile. She’d grown up with her small, close family and losing it all had been devastating. In fact, it still was. She’d not been able to talk about it yet. However, this new pack and these wolves were slowly working their way into the heart she’d attempted to seal off. She truly wasn’t made to be alone.

”I know the feeling,” she grinned, shivering when he nipped at her sides and leaning into him when he rubbed against her. She jumped at him a couple of times and barked in response, her bark a much lighter one than his. The femme skipped away from her mate, grinning, tail wagging high over her rump. Rarely did she raise her tail so high, in the past knowing her rank as lower in the pack, but she was at play with her mate. They were equal in each other’s eyes and dominance posturing in normal situations wasn’t necessary. The thought suddenly came to mind that she was now ranked alpha female, that raising her tail was no longer a challenge but a simple statement of rank. That would certainly take some time getting used to.

Velvet jumped forward with a laugh to tug on Remington’s ear, then nip at his shoulder, before jumping back again. She startled when she collided with someone, turning quickly to see Twist. ”Oh, Twist!” she exclaimed at the omega, ”I’m so sorry, I didn’t hurt you did I?” She knew the omega was still injured from the hunt and didn’t want to cause anymore pain to her, especially since they were moving out soon. She noticed the down expression and body posture on the other femme and calmed down slightly, tilting her head. ”Is everything okay, Twist?” The omega seemed sweet, the sort of wolf Velvet would like as a friend, but had been rather quiet since their meeting.

After conversing with Twist, Velvet returned to her mate’s side, brushing up against him lovingly. ”Should we move out some time soon, Remington?” she asked, unsure what his plan was.

Remington lifted his head high as Velvet nipped at him and rose her tail high. Remington was not sure if there was ever a site than what he was looking at now. He felt so lucky to have been able to choose such a beautiful female as his and her accept. He watched from behind as she went around with her tail high in the air, he couldn't but smirk and sniff the air. She was to funny to watch, what a goof ball he thought. As he stood there amused watching his mate he saw her bump into Twist. He watched contently to make sure everything was alright and let Velvet handle the situation.

As Velvet came back over to him brushing up against him,he nipped her rump, and did his deep charming growl he had. "We should being heading out soon if want to ever get there, now remember I don't know if this is the Valley of Hope, all I know is when I was a pup my dad said that when he finally got to this place it was almost like a heaven sanctuary for wolves, so it must be it." Remington smiled to her, thoughts of the future with her at this place ran through his head. His dad described this place as mountains and forest all surrounding this great lake that would shine like a million diamonds in the sun. How the lands flourished with deer, and elk and the many places to raise young. The thought of young and pups made him look to Velvet, "Dakota asked e if I had thought of having pups with you, and it seems everyone is expecting and wants pups badly." Remington kind of chuckled and smirked sitting his rump onto the ground before he layed down by her side. "I know how much you love pups darling, and if you want pups when you come into heat don't be afraid to tell me. Your my mate, and you make me so happy and I will protect you and love you forever, no matter what your decisions are I will listen and try my best to support you." He licked her cheek waiting to see how she reacted to what he just said. Being charming was a given from his dad, his dad could pick up ladies with no problem and make mom drool over him 24/7. " That was a bit long I am sorry, I just wanted to tell you that when your ready and want to have pups I am on board with you. I would love to raise little alphas, especially if one is just like you." He nudged her chest with his head rubbing it deep into her fur.

Sollux gave her a smile. "It's only true," he chuckled. Then, his attention was dragged away from her and to Dakota. "Hello. Well, actaully, I will be talking to Remington later, though I do plan on trying out being a hunter for awhile. You have become the lead hunter, yes?" He spoke, "I congratulate you." Sollux seemed in a happier mood, as he was usually grumpy and unkind. He decided he could get used to pack life.

Sollux widened his smile and looked back to Rivers. "Im glad you got the rank you wanted, dearest Rivers. I am positive you will do well. I am sure you are talented!" He laughed, and then gave a nervous look to Dakota. "Ah, excuse me for being so rude. I am Sollux, and you are Dakota, yes?"

Toki || Male || 2 Years 4 Months || No Mate || Unranked
Toki’s Appearance

Having spent the past 4 months on his own, the young male was fairly shocked to hear the soft noises of other canines in the distance.
Unsure of how to take this situation in, Toki's anxiety seemed to get to him.
He jumped into a bush, hoping to curl up in the shadows and let his hearing see for him.
Instead of the soft ground, he was met by a face full of quills

"Porcupine!"

He yelped into the humid air, jumping out of the bush running as fast as he could.
Not paying any attention to his surroundings, quills stuck all around his eyes and muzzle, he headed straight into the area the wolf pack was settling in.
He stumbled as he ran straight into Kade.

Kade || Female || 5 years || Beta female

Kade was thinking about Azazel after that. Something about him was weirdly attractive but she couldn't put a paw on it. Maybe it was that he was so confident in who he was? Whatever. He wasn't there anymore so it didn't matter. What may have been was not something to dwell on.

Kade flinched, hard, as some wolf ran right into her, interrupting her thoughts. For a moment, she thought he was very disfigured, then realized that he simply had stuck his face into a porcupine, which would explain how he'd run into someone, but raised the question of, 'who sticks their face in a porcupine?'

She did not ask this aloud. "Be careful!" she yelped. A few quills had poked into her fur, and she dislodged them with a shake. "Sit down and I'll help you get those out."
