Kade || Shadowhunter

Kade woke later than normal, at five in the morning, and stepped into the shower. The inside was damp, so someone had been in there recently. Probably Jack. Another 'heal' was scrawled on her arm, for her hangover, and it was gone, no puking, no headache, when she got out of the shower. She rarely had hangovers but when she did they were bad. Kade went to the kitchen with the intend of getting breakfast, then decided that it wasn't worth it and slipped downstairs, not taking the elevator but using the stairs.

There was a park a few blocks away she liked to go when she needed a bit of space and it was there she went now. Kade was like a squirrel with the speed at which she could climb, so she climbed up the biggest tree, one she often sat in, and waited for the sun to rise while she sat comfortably where a large limb forked off from the trunk. She was maybe fifty feet in the air. The morning was slightly foggy but she could see over it, which wasn't much to see, especially with the leaves blocking her view.

Before Jack got onto the elevator, he went to the drawing room and took a pen and paper. He scribbled a note on it and left it on the kitchen door.

I see we have a little mess in the halls. There are three ways we can do this.
1- You clean it up, no fuss.
2-I clean it up, the Clave kicks you out.
3- Mr. and Mrs. Faircross clean it up, and they ban you, and take you out of Clave protection.

He knew it was a bit harsh, but he was feeling a bit harsh today. He finally went to the elevator and went down to the entrance floor. He left the institute and took a long walk, no distractions.

Cylena||Pixie

Cylena woke up, a little more tired than usual, but other than that everything was normal for her. She got dressed, and went into the kitchen to get something to eat. It seemed like bot the shadowhunters were up, but neither were in the institute at the moment, she wondered about that as she got some bread down and toasted it, but decided it wasn't important. She opted to eat in the kitchen, since they hadn't fixdd the dining room yet.

She stepped over to a note she saw on the door, picking it up to read it as she ate. Instantly, her rage flared up again. She flipped the note over and scrawled her reply.
There are a few ways we can do this
-I clean it and you shadowhunters stop leaving me at home like a bad pet
-you clean it, and tell your parents, and they get angry at you because they told you not to leave me here alone
-they clean it, and are still angry at you
-you clean it and stop leaving me
I'm not some puppy you can take and leave as you please

Kade took out her cell phone to check for any new texts, and not seeing any, she sent Jack one. Just checking to make sure you're alright, she sent. He didn't need to answer; it would let her know when he read it. She slipped the phone back into her pocket and lay back, half falling asleep on the branch.

Jack made his way back to the institute in good time. He went to the kitchen to find another note. He grabbed an Apple and then read the note. Cylena. Why couldn't she do missions on her own? He wondered. Jack and Kade went on missions separately all the time. Jack ripped up the note and went to his room. He found his phone on the bed and saw it blinking. Someone must have tested him. He read it and replied. "Fine. But the fearie won't clean up her mess." Jack replied. He set the phone down and just laid on his bed. His window curtain was open so light was streaming in.

Her phone vibrated softly as someone texted her, and that was enough to wake Kade. She checked, finding it was from Jack, and replied, I'm in the park but if you want me to go talk to her I can. She loved how the light shone through the leaves to cover her in dapples of light and dark. A leaf was positioned just right to keep the sun out of her eyes, and Kade sighed in contentment. If she could stay here forever.

Jack got up. He didn't respond to Kade, he just went to the board to find a mission to take. He chose the top one and left the institute, leaving his phone. There was a stray Scorpios roaming the town after looking it's master.

Kade just fell back asleep, but not before jotting a quick mark on her leg to make her invisible. It wasn't so much invisibility as it was keeping people from looking at her, which was much more sustainable. There, she slept, and waited for either night to fall and it get too cold to stay there, or someone to text her with a mission.

Jack found the demon in an ally, bumping into a door as if he was trying to get in. Jack took out a search blade. "Michael!" He yelled as he brought to sword down on the demon. It squirted Jack with the burning ichor. It made marks on his bare arms, and he heard himself sizzle. He watched as the demon disappeared into thin air. Jack pulled out his steel and scratched an iratze onto his arm. He felt the relief immediately. His blade was now back to normal and he put it back into his belt. He started walking home.

Kade eventually got a text from a friend of hers, one she'd just recently met. Want to meet up? I have a bottle and nowhere to be, the text said. She grinned reading it and replied quickly. I'm in the park, you know where. Get here.

He was there in five minutes. His name was Ethan; they'd met two weeks ago in a club and had just been friends afterwards. They'd meet up every other day, go get coffee or drink or whatever. He was funny and she didn't feel like she had to do anything to be friends with him, so they just sat there in the tree and talked and joked around and almost fell out and drank a bit.

Jack got back to the institute drawings still covered the walls. Thank God she hadn't drawn on any of the paintings. Jack went to his room and tested Kade an update. "Scorpios is out." He wrote and sent. She would understand that he'd killed it. Jack then went to go find Cylena, keeping his phone with him this time.

Kade's phone vibrated again so she checked it. Jack. "It's Jack, he just wanted to let me know he was home," she said to Ethan, already typing her reply. Alright. I'm in the park with Ethan, she sent, just letting him know in case she was needed for anything. Already she was slightly tipsy from the alcohol so she decided not to have any more.

Cylena sat in her room, listening to music and painting her nails. It was nice things like this that loved about the human world; they didn't really have anything like it in the faerie world. Not that she could go back to the faerie world, even if she wanted. The pixie held up her hands, inspecting the nails, and grinning when they looked flawless.

Jack knocked on Cylea's door and then walked in. "Enough is enough, Cylena. You are the guest of the institute and we have the power to throw you out." Jack calmly said to the desire. She seemed to be painting her nails. This was a custom not used by most shadowhunters. Most colors are dedicated to symbols of life and death and would by unsuitable for them to wear should the colors be taken the wrong way.

Cylena didn't even glance at Jack, and for a moment was going to ignore him. "You know, the Clave wouldn't throw me out. Move me maybe, but never throw me out." She didn't know if she was allowed to say any more than that, and since she couldn't lie about it if he asked, she changed the subject. "Its kinda rude, I think, your behavior. I know faeries unnerve people, but you should be different. I like consider you and Kade my friends, but You never allow me to go anywhere with you." She sighed, turning her head to meet his eyes with her gold ones. "If I didn't know any better, I'd think you didn't want me here."
