Credits to Dawnstar. [Lilac] (#51049) for helping me think of this

I know that I've had this problem recently, and I'm like 100% positive other people had too.

Basically, I was harassed, threatened, and called slurs. And while I did report it (Of course!) It took a day before it was even claimed, leaving me feeling really unsafe.

This user was also reported by a few people who chose to defend me, but I didn't feel like the situation had been dealt with. (Though it has since I originally posted this, so don't worry!)

So my idea is this:

There should be certain words in the modbox that would trigger Mods to come look at them. The words would be stuff like:

"Kill"
"Threaten"
"Harassment"
Etc.

Janxxy (#61852) suggested that there be a subgroup in the Modbox where you'd report these types of things, so that smaller issues like minor ToS breaking and stuff don't get pushed back.

Gnarlandis (#66351) suggested that, rather than have to report a whole thread, you should be able to report a single post.

"I'm not sure if someone said this already, but mods should also add derogative slurs to the list, such as homophobic slurs/racist slurs/ableist slurs. I know that Lioden strives for a safe community where everyone, regardless of identity, is equal, and I believe that adding oppressive/discriminative slurs to the blacklist would help. :D" - Halt (#79087)

EDIT; Thank you everyone for the 200 supports! I can't believe how fast the supports added up!

This suggestion has 423 supports and 24 NO supports.

If you feel that way, please message the person who came up with the idea and suggest they make their own thread about it, I'd be happy to remove it here if it was posted somewhere else (But I'm not going to do it because it's not my idea!)

No support from me. It seems rather pointless to be honest. If they can't use those words they would just use different or variations of the words to harass said player. Until I get a little push, no support from me on this.

This too has been discussed before, in previous pages. Intent is just as good as saying it, and even trying to skip around it can still be reported (With screenshots and reason why you feel there is foul intent)

And again, this would only work if I made a report using any of those words, not just use in the chat/forums.

Example:

Person posted: I'm gonna k1ll you, you f**** B***

I could still report this because although they tried to code it out (A very weak attempt, I'm too lazy to try to put effort into fake-harassing myself) I could still report it using the words "Threatened" "Kill" and/or "Harassment" because the intent is clear.

--

Of course, you're more than welcome to your own opinions (Though since you're on the creepypasta crew, I'm going to assume you saw all the stuff that was said to me, Simba, Hawk and anyone else who tried to defend us.)

Eva@: Yes, I was indeed there. Instead of having trigger words, why can't there be a little thing that say "Report forum post?" It would send the post to the sub Modbox where the Mods could look at it like that? No screenshots needed, instant proof. And it would show the original post even if that person tried to edit their post.

We have that! My problem was that the issue wasn't dealt with as quickly as it should have been (I understand that the Mods are a little understaffed right now) my idea is that there's some way that issues such as the one I was in can alert the mods so that they know that the issue might be above things like minor ToS rule breaking and bug reports. I know it's over the internet, but when people threaten to kill me, I take it seriously.

Eva@: No, you report just a single post instead of getting the entire thread deleted is what I'm saying/suggesting.

Ahh, that's a smart idea, would you mind if I added it as an alternative? (With credit)

Eva@: Not at all. And don't get too scared over death threats. I've had ten people threaten to kill me before over the internet and yet I am still here. They just want to feed off of your fear and discomfort. But you are strong, and have the power to report^^

Thank you! I try, but I take that stuff seriously (Like how, for the most part, I take suicide talk pretty seriously)

I did report, as did other people, but I felt it didn't get fixed fast enough. Actually, today my issue was finally labeled as resolved. Today. And I made this thread like a month ago. (Or course, it was dealt with before that) But just that alone should tell you that the mods are understaffed and overworked, and while I don't think situations like this one are very common, I think that having a way to quickly alert the mods to harassment/threats would benefit this site

The good old 'talk about the person who politely respected not to post anymore to diss him out more' posts are so tempting.
Anyway, I didnt come to argue but I couldnt help but notice...

If you feel that way, please message the person who came up with the idea and suggest they make their own thread about it, I'd be happy to remove it here if it was posted somewhere else

And so...

Indeed it was already posted right here circa a year ago.
Still fresh, still valid. You can also read about all the arguments against this feature.

Wait... there's another post of that? Huh. This was getting a lot more supports though.

Hmm, Dam does provide a good point. As with the kill/murder example, maybe it can only be used in a phrase, like for example, maybe something like "Player X has threatened to kill/murder me" would alert the mods but not just "kill/murder", maybe it has to state the player's username (Like for example, Player Synhayugsdguybuy has threatened to kill/murder me" will be an alert, but wouldn't affect roleplaying or murder stones, or kill fodder for evil kings on Lioden, as to avoid confusion.

I thought of that, but there's no way to make sure every single person who makes a report uses that exact phrase, so it wouldn't alert the mods

Yeah... there's no way to please everyone, unfortunately. I prefer this thread over the older one, to be honest...
