Lucifer nodded to the group, lifting her tail and trotting off. Moving in the opposite direction of Pyre's group. "We will be going after a doe this round, next time we'll test out a buck. Can't have our apprentices getting injured can we?" She smirked behind her before breaking into a silently run, her paws seemingly to barely touch the ground. Once a good distance from camp and the scent of deer filtered across her nostrils she slowed, "Wings and Driver, circle around. Find your target together and drive it towards us." She nodded to a small clump of trees behind the herd, though little cover led to that hideaway. Perfect. They'll need to test their stealth for this.

Tyrael flicked his ears at the group, dropping to the ground and sneaking towards the brush. Hoping and praying the others were doing the same.

Pyre | Noble

Pyre flicked her ears and sniffed the breeze "Doesnt seem to be a herd. Alpha must have the main branch of the herd, this seems to be some stragglers or a passing group. "Aela and Keahi (still dont know if there is really a ton of people in our group. Anyway, yeah) will drive the herd around to me, Star, Tuili and ---. --- and Tuili will take turns at the target's shoulders and flanks. Star and I will bring it down once youve tired it out and or wounded it. If there are any stags we'll need someone to distract it and the rest of the group away from our target. Aela and Keahi will do that and snap at the ankles to keep the target in check." Pyre glanced at Keahi "Think you can do it, kid?" She asked, her expression serious. Pyre was giving Keahi a chance to prove he could help the pack, and she only hoped she hadnt given him a task he couldnt handle.

(If it gets to it we'll only have Keahi running. Hope-Sunfire- is taking a small break off for family circumstances she's had lately)

(Gem and Sky would have left BEFORE they turned 18 months. So they wouldn't have been made nobles or whatever yet. They are old enough for the rank NOW but they weren't before :P )

Aela | Scout | 4
"On it," Aela said and loped away from the hunting patrol. Her ears swivelled, catching the sounds of the forest and the residents within, including the snapping twigs and heavy breathing that came with deer. She gave the prey animals a wide berth, not wanting to spook them prematurely. As she ran she made sure that her pawsteps were silent and that she stayed downwind, the basics of a scout. Finally she reached a small ravine, at the bottom of which were three deer. A mother with her fawn, and an older nag that looked like she'd seem more summers than stars. Aela lowered herself carefully onto her haunches and waited for Keahi to catch up before making a move.

Nova | Beta | 4
Nova broke away from Lucifer and keeping up the steady but silent pace, circled around to the ideal chasing location. He willed his healing leg to not stiffen up and make a mistake, and luckily it kept up with his smooth movements. His emerald eyes flicked between each deer, finding the ideal target. He was almost tempted by the strong bucks on the outer rims of the herd. His sensitive ear fur could hear the hot blood thrumming through their bodies and he knew that their flesh was richer than any other. But Gem, Sky and Arielles faces arose in his mind and he focused his attention on a female doe instead. He picked out three possible candidates, all young does that were dawdling behind the herd munching on the green grass and ignoring the attention of a couple of bucks. Nova glanced sideways at Tyrael, quietly asking for his opinion.

Keahi felt a smirk form on his lips and his cautiously follows after the older wolf, crouching down beside her and flexing his muscles. His eyes searched for the possible targets. It's either the old one, or the fawn. He thought, red eyes glancing to Aela in question.

Tyrael snapped his gaze to Nova, looking towards the bigger of the three young does with a slight tilt of his head. She appeared to be savoring her right foreleg, He tilted his ears towards her, 'hurt.' was all he mouthed. Looking to their wings with a slight nod. -gawd its short im sorry-

Pyre narrowed her eyes, appraoching the group. In her mind, the elder doe was the best candidate. It would feed more than the fawn would and the fawn was young. She didnt like going after the young for more reasons than just "Its a baby" shd didnt care about something so simple. That elder wouldnt live another few years, and cant reproduce anymore, but the fawn would live much longer, bearing the next generation of the herds around here. The herds that stayed in the two -now three- territories' range shouldnt have their fawns killed. Elderly and injured were perfect, and when the bucks ran aplenty (a plenty? Bah xD) a nice feast never hurt.

(oh lol! oh well, they can be apprentices for now right? maybe they refused to be promoted as they felt they weren't ready? Or they got in huge trouble over a prank and had their apprenticeship extended XD also I never even knew about the sunfall whatsit chat thread. Or I forgot about it hahaha. Aela| Scout
Aela leaned close to Keahi and breathed in his ear "The fawn will grow and bear more prey for us to eat, and it needs its mother to survive. The elder doe will be our target." She nodded down to the chosen prey, and felt her mouth water in anticipation. "You wait with Pyre at the bottom of the ravine and I'll chase her towards you. I'm not fond of making the killing move.." She shot Pyre an anxious look, hoping Pyre would remember her hatred of violence towards innocent creatures.

Nova
Nova caught Tyraels meaning and jerked his chin in a nod. He returned his gaze to the injured doe and allowed his primal instincts to take over, his sight tunnelling until it was focused on their prey and only their prey, while adrenaline was released into his bloodstream and caused his heart to begin thumping faster against his ribcage. Jaws parted, he took in a deep but quiet breath and let the warm smell of the doe to excite him further. Muscles tensed, he waited for all wolves to be in position and for the signal from Lucifer.

Gem and Sky
Gem and Sky parted like a pair of shadows, slipping away on either side of the herd to creep away to the trees that their alpha had motioned to. Sky hopped from tree trunk to tree trunk. landing on the mossy roots and avoiding the twigs and leaves that might snap or rustle and give away his position. He couldn't be bothered scrutinizing his every pawstep to avoid noise, even if Gem laughed at his funny fox-like way of being quiet through a forest. As lazy as his movements were, he had his pale eyes fixed on the herd through the trees and could only just make out Tyrael and Nova at their position. He could not, however, find Gems form.
Gem had made it to the tree patch before Sky, his dark pelt helping him blend with the undergrowth and his movements syncing with the sounds of the forest to provide cover for his pawsteps. He lay in wait for his brother and Arielle.

Pyre ignored her sister's glance, her eyes turning elsewhere. However, Pyre knew exactly what it meant nonetheless. Whether she was still angry with her sibling or not over Nova's giant hindrance on his neck, she would have her back at anytime.

Her paws worked until they were in the trees, once it seemed like the target was found and Arielle and Gem were at her sides she let out a sharp, crisp, bark. Gaining attention of the herd from the group in the trees not that far away. Her shoulders worked themselves into a crouch, "You two, pick a side. Once they get close enough try to drag it down." She muttered lowly so the kind of alert herd didn't notice. -shortttt-
