Arielle | Female | 13 months | Apprentice [ STB Noble ]

Arielle followed Lucifer, relishing in her victory. The boys had lost the race, and she held her tail a tad higher because of it. She crouched beside the alphess, keeping her eye on the cow the group had pointed out. She was indeed older, the elk's steps hitched and slow. She nodded, "I'll go around to her right side, so my deaf ear is faced away."

"Then I'll take the left," Gem murmured, his eyes set on their target. He balanced himself carefully so he could dash out within a split second, or react if something went wrong. The next couple of moments seemed to stretch into eternity, until suddenly all madness broke loose. With squeals and brays of alarm, the herd began to run. Between the flashes of brown hide and flying hooves Gem could see Nova running and snapping at the heels of the deer they had chosen. The large male didn't seem hindered by his old injuries at all as he flew along, agilely avoiding stray kicks or being trampled. Gem awaited the appearance of Ty and Sky.

Ty snapped into action, "Come on Sky! GO!" He huffed, racing out and taking the left beside Nova. Snapping at the deer until it faced where it needed to and ran along side the eldest of the younger does. His paws thrumming against the ground, snapping at the does ribs when she veered way to close to him. "We got this. Move deer move." Time seemed to slow down for a moment, a flailing hoof mere inches from his face before it kicked back into gear and the hoof missed. He took in a sharp, uneven, breath but kept at it nonetheless.

Keahi blinks slowly with realization and lowers to the ground again, watching the hunting ground and observing how they worked together. "Please don't fail..." He thought with hope as he watched the group. His fur pricked with anticipation and his claws itched to feel the weight of the animal they were bringing down.((You guys have no idea how much I hate this keyboard... Like seriously stopstop going out while I am typing!))

Sky leaped from his hiding place, joining Nova and Tyrael with a flew flying bounds. The deer veered close after trying to avoid Ty's teeth, and Sky lunged up to snap his teeth close to her ear and keep her from getting too close to his side.

Nova let the wings do their part as he drove the doe faster and faster to where the ambush party lay in wait. When she tried to balk and double back he nipped at her ankles and drew beads of blood, causing her to double her efforts to outrace them

Lucifer lay low to the ground, muscles bunching as the doe grew closer and closer, Sky seemed to be doing well at this point. "In 5 we jump ok?" 1. The doe grew slightly anxious, speeding up as Nova bit at her ankles. 2. The ambush party prepared themselves. 3. She grew ever so slightly closer. 4. Lucifer rolled her shoulders and moved forwards and inch. 5. White and black fur exploded from behind the bush, jaws open and aiming for the still running deer's throat.

Gem burst from the leaves of the bush, his dark form sailing over the branch to land lightly on the left side of the deer just as it reached their hiding spot. Quick as a snake, he whirled on his back paws and leaped at the does side. His open mouth met the soft hair on the muscle bound shoulder of the prey and he clamped down, feeling his fangs pierce the skin and sink in a good inch. In the back of his mind he hoped that Arielle and Lucifer had also attacked successfully. He was lucky he hadn't lost his balance, as one of his paws had slipped on a fallen leaf. From the corner of his eye he saw Sky and Nova circling the doe and making sure she didn't throw them off and get away.

Arielle | Female | 13 months | Apprentice [ STB Noble ]

Arielle leaped over the shrubs she was stationed behind, breaking into a gallop almost before her feet touched the ground. Her gray and white legs moved methodically, the rhythm in her stride practiced and perfected in her 13 months of living. The elk was weighed down by the two wolves clinging on her, Lucifer at her neck and Gem at her left shoulder.

The female apprentice picked up speed, skirting wide behind the cow, evading the wings and coming around the right side, her deaf ear facing away from their prey. Finding the right time, as soon as the elk stumbled, Arielle pounced upwards and diagonally, finding purchase on the side of it. Her body was positioned vertically along the barrel, her back paws able to reach the stomach with realitive ease. Holding with her front paws and jaws to the thick fur, the she-wolf kicked out rapidly with her claws, raking them repeatedly against the soft underbelly.

Nova | Beta | 4 years

Nova checked the flanks and front of the elk cow, racing ahead and around the sides to make sure that the three attackers were in place. He slowed until he was running behind the prey again, then put on a burst of speed and ran right up to her back legs. His dark furred head snaked forward and powerful jaws closed over on leg, closing with bone breaking force. His strike was fast and sure so he wouldnt be injured by any kicks. A loud crack resounded through the air. Nova growled with satisfaction as the cow trumpeted with pain and her knees gave, the fractured ankle and weight of three wolves too much for her. The gray and tan wolf held himself back from her, letting the attackers finish her off.

Lucifer gave a smirk as Nova crushed the bone between his jaws, before clamping down harder on the throat of the cow. Her head violently jerking to the sides, effectively tearing the throat out and splattering anyone nearby with blood, her once smooth pelt now covered in the bright liquid. She chuckled, "That was a rush! I say you two," She looked to Gem and Sky, "If my Beta agrees, get your positions within the pack today. Arielle, I say you should be getting yours soon as well. All 3 of you did exceptionally well today, I'm proud of your hard work and dedication."

Arielle chirped as she dismounted from the cow's side, letting her come crashing to the ground harshly on her right side, bleeding heavily from the tears on her belly. As soon as the elk slid a few feet and the she-wolf was sure she wouldn't be getting back up, Arielle took a spot on the exposed side, pushing her weight on the barrel, appreciating her work on the stomach. As Lucifer gave the elk the final sentence, the gray apprentice led the chorus in a celebratory howl, thanking the Ancients, especially Tellun.

Gem | Apprentice | Mentions Arielle
Sky and Gem both felt a warm glow of pride from Lucifers praise. Gem nudged his brother and they both bowed their heads to her in thanks. Gem touched his nose to the elks nose and sent a silent prayer to the ancients to guide her spirit to wherever the elk roamed after death. He then heard the melodic howl of his brother and added his voice to Sky's and Arielles, the thrill of the successful hunt coursing through him even after it was over. After a few moments his voice faded and he padded over to Arielle, giving the gray and white she-wolf a friendly shoulder bump "I didn't know you could do so much damage," he said in an amused tone, motioning to the shredded belly of the cow. "What kind of training did you do while were gone?"

Sky watched his brother thank the elk for giving her life to the pack with a feeling of affection. His brother may be quiet but his soul was certainly alive. He walked over to Tyrael "Your flanking was really great," he offered, perking up his ears and lowering his golden eyes in respect. "I would love some pointers next time, if you don't mind"

Nova watched the young wolves howl with amusement. They were so caught up in the delight of their triumph that they hadn't even noticed being splattered in the blood of the elk. He'd been lucky enough to be out of the splash zone, and his coat remained carnage free. "They really did do well," he commented to Lucifer after joining her side. "It hardly felt like we were running with apprentices at all."

Arielle | Female | 13 months | Apprentice [ STB Noble ]

Arielle lowered her head from the howl, an incredible look of pride in her dark eyes. She grinned with Gem's praise and bumped him back. "You'd be surprised," she laughed, "So many months as the only apprentice and everyone wants to train you, from the alpha to the warriors. I've had time to pick up strategies from every position. Hunting, fighting, tracking, scouting, tree-climbing, most everything." She looked to the elk cow again and smirked, turning her head back to Gem. "I'll fight you for that pelt," she said, her face holding a playful, challenging expression, "I might even let you win."

Lucifer chuckled at the antics of the soon-to-be's. "First we have to get it to camp, can't skin it and leave it can we?" She chuckled before grabbing a leg and motioning for the others to do the same, her tail swinging as she did so. Part of the pelt could've bee saved had someone not tore into with their legs, but overall it as nice and would suit a den well. Her blue eyes scanned the others swiftly before looking towards where Pyre's group went, still no howl or anything, I hope their ok.

Tyrael looked to Sky as he approached, nudging the STB with a smirk, "Kid you were fantastic, if anyone should be giving pointers it's you. Though I'd be happy to teach you some fighting moves I picked up while my mom was around." He smirked, watching Arielle challenge Gem for the pelt, His voice lowered, "Should we snag the pelt while their fighting?" A low chuckle exiting his mouth before grabbing a leg as well, ready to pull with their alphas command.

Arielle rolled her eyes discreetly to Gem and approached the back right leg. I really did make a mess of the belly, didn't I, she thought, her face falling for a split-second as she spotted the torn-up fur. She knew it wouldn't affect her graduation, however, as the damage dealt showed promise if it was used against other, more dangerous opponents. Her face perked back up as the young she-wolf thought of the festival that would take place tomorrow as it was already dark. All three graduating apprentices would be treated like alphas. Graduation ceremonies were one of the few times that positions didn't matter, no one was dominate or submissive, everyone was the same. Every wolf ate together, alphas with omegas, hunters with kappas, warriors with zetas.
