• PLOT •

Chernobyl was once a thriving city that was left abandoned from a radioactive explosion. Due to the radiation that now circulates throughout Chernobyl, it is eerily silent and devoid of human life. The only people who can be seen lately are tourists who venture on the outskirts of the land, safely away from dangerous radiation exposure. The only beings that remain are animals, who have unfortunately suffered from permanent disfiguration, mutations, and terminal and psychological illnesses. Every day is a struggle for survival, whether it be for territory, food, or getting past the dog who's mental stability has withered away from radiation poisoning. _____________________________________________________________________

A massive ware-house type building that was once a busy and well-known nuclear plant. It is now dilapidated, filled with broken equipment, and home to many scavenging animals who hide in the shadows.

Once upon a time there lived a cheerful community bustling with a youthful presence. Not anymore. This creepy area is filled with old toys, broken rides and tumbledown ticket booths. Mothers always whisper to their pups that this place is haunted and filled with forsaken souls. Just a tale, of course. Or is it?

More accurately labelled Red Forest by humans, this vast stretch of uninhabited woodland gives off an eerie sense of dread from it's silence and strangely red-coloured vegetation.

Ty slowly let go of her throat with a triumphant smile as he backed up a few steps and licked the few places he'd been licked. Neither had inflicted many wounds on each other, but if it was a real fight he wouldn't have go easy on her, or held back at least as to not get to involved and accidently seriously wound her. "So Sierra, what do you say? Im the best and we stick together?" He said the last part quicker then the first, a cruel smile still etched on his muzzle.

Sierra got up. She rolled her eyes, "We'll stick together" she agreed, though not saying he was better. She shook the dust and dirt off of her beautiful brown and black coat and looked at him. This was the only dog she had not been agressive with, well...the only dog she had not hurt and been indifferent toward since the radiation.

ROMAN | MALE | 4 YEARS | TAMASKAN DOG
Location: Chernobyl Headquarters
Mentions: Kade, Prokopenko

He admittedly had to force himself to not scoff at her. The way she spoke, so gently and fluidly, along with her clear sympathy towards the blind hound almost made him sick. This wasn't the way Roman worked; he liked to get a riot started, to poke and prod at other dogs just to get a reaction. Harassment had grown to be a source of amusement for him, but it was clear that if he were in Kade's presence he wouldn't be permitted to do so. Well, if he wanted to eat tonight, it wasn't. "You've got such an innocent mindset, my dear. Hasn't anyone told suggested that you toughen up?" The way his amber eyes shone could easily be mistaken as nothing more than innocent humour, but he was really quite serious. "There are monsters out here. I'm sure your 'friend' the blind dog knows of them all too well," If she continued to pad around in her dreamy thoughts she'd be eventually be dog bait for sure. He wasn't sure how he felt about that- he'd been around her for a small amount of time but the thought of this dog being torn apart by a neighbouring pack made him feel a bit panicked. He turned his eyes back to the path they pursued, the blind dog ahead of them eventually seemingly dissolving into the mist around them. He slowed as they reached the forest, quiet and dark and endless. "I don't know about you, but I'm in the mood for something large and that will truly satisfy me. Lead the way, huntress. You know these lands far better than I do," He lifted his chin and gave her a nod, the sight of his elongated fangs confirming that they were going to make a kill tonight.

Kade | Female | 4 years | Doberman Pinscher
Mentions: Roman, Prokopenko
Location: The forest

Kade's lips lifted back into a half-snarl as it was suggested that she toughen up. "You don't understand why I can't afford to make enemies, and I have not explained, so you are forgiven for suggesting I don't know of the dangers of life," she said, her voice low but unmistakably dangerous. "But, I've spoken of my dreams and perhaps I should now explain further."

"I sleep for days or weeks on end; it seems to be that for however long I am awake, I lie sleeping," Kade said, her snarl fading, replaced by her neutral expression that she wore most often. "And I am unable to be woken during the time I am sleep, not by any outward forces. Normally, hunger can wake me, but for the most part, I am trapped in my head with my night terrors and you."

With that, the Doberman took the lead, shifting from the way she walked in the city to something more wolfish, the gait of the hunt, silent as a shadow and perhaps even lighter. Her nose was closer to the ground and she could smell much more, the long-gone trail of a hare, water nearby that she didn't think she should drink, and then - there. A herd animal not affected by the radiation as anything in the city had been, no more than three or four, and not too far away. With almost no warning, she checked the wind and then was gone, all in silence, her footsteps lighter than the memory of a shadow. Kade remembered how to walk so that her longer claws didn't betray her by crunching leaves, as she couldn't feel them like she could feel her paws. Hunger drove her in this; the fire in her belly made her all the more careful, unwilling to lose any prey.

(That wasn't necessarily what I was referring to. I meant the people who were initially interacting with Skins, It's been a few days since a couple people have responded on here. I want to give them a chance to reply)

(Don't get snappy please, I get caught up sometimes but as I've said plenty of times I LIKE to wait. Doesn't mean I will. "Ty likes to wait" Not "Ty waits." .-. I deal with that enough at home and school. And I posted like maybe 10 minutes after Christi anyways.)

SKINS | FEMALE | 5 YEARS | IBIZAN HOUND
Location: The Streets
Mentions: Butcher, Hades, Seirsha

Two things were fluttering in the hound's head; fight or flight. At this very moment, with a dog who was very capable of inflicting lethal injuries blundering towards them, her paws itched to flee. Urgency was clear in her mannerisms as she tilted her thin muzzle and nudged at Butcher's rather large shoulder, her near-blind eyes not daring to remove themselves from the threat ahead of them, "Let's.. go. C'mon, no need for this," She whispered in her usual broken tone. She was well aware of her companion's capabilities; she'd seen, well, more accurately heard the great dane hybrid teach their enemies lessons using nothing more than snapping fangs and threatening snarls. That still didn't mean she wanted to risk her amnesiac partner falling victim to their pursuer's violent intentions. A forgetful and injured dog to have to deal with? Well, even Skins knew her limits, and that was a bit too much for a blind dog to handle. She had no clue where her ginger and white female friend had gone off to, or even if she even was near them still. Her scent was growing faint to her senses, but that could be blamed to the heavy inhalations of familiar scent she was practically huffing off of Butcher to calm her anxious nerves. "He'll get whats comin' to him," She breathed, giving him another nudge. Her thin, bony form was jittery with tremors, though mostly from the cold.

|Butcher|Male|Great Dane x English Mastiff|Streets|Mentions: Skins, Seirsha, and Hades|

Butcher’s teeth remained bared as he listened to his companion, noting the slight tremors and anxious tone. Lowering his lips he turned and nudged her along with his movement to make sure she didn’t get caught up or trip on anything that could be laying out across the ground. He understood why she would want to leave before the other dog fully reached them, the damage that he could sustain could be major, and he didn’t feel like Skins getting caught in one of the middle of that fight either. So he led the blind albino away into the mist, keeping his pace even to make sure she kept up. There seemed to be more and more dogs around the inner city streets, it made him wary and cautious, and angry…very angry at so many dogs that were traveling around looking for mindless violence without purpose. A growl built up in his throat before he decided to speak. ”I hope so. I really hope so Ski.” He huffed out and lowered his head to pick up the rabbit he had caught earlier for a meal.

|Rudo|Female|German Shepherd|3 Years old|
Location: Streets.
Mentions: None.

The female's large ears twitch as she strains to pay attention to were she was going. Her visibly tired expression and drained demeanor suggested that she hadn't had sleep for a while, and even she didn't know when the last time she'd slept. Her heavy paws come to a stop at a puddle of water that had gathered in a large hole in the pavement and she turns her head from side to side, gazing around for any possible dangers before lowering her head to take a drink out of the stagnant water.

As she raises her head she takes a step back from the puddle and stretches in an attempt to wake herself up. She didn't need to be tired, especially in a place like this that was riddled with other canines. The shepherd shakes her coat and stretches once more before continuing on her way, a hurried step in her gate this time.

|Dalton|Male|Mixbreed|5 Years old|
Location: Streets.
Mentions: None.

Dalton pads slowly over the unattended and cracking pavement below his paws, occasionally stumbling over a rough spot on the road as he walks. A somewhat raving smile was plastered on the feeble male's face as he made his way to who-knows-where. He had no real place to be and no territory to call his own so he was used to roaming with no purpose, or just roaming in order to keep from being mauled by a passing stray.

The aching in his legs was ever-present now though and he knew he would have to stop soon to rest. Even though he had only been walking for around 10 minutes, it felt like a century to the sickly canine. He slows to a stop and just stands, staring directly ahead of him at the expanse of deserted road that lay ahead. A soft sigh escapes his mouth as a sudden weariness hits him and he drops to the ground were he stands, letting out a painful cry as his fragile frame hits the hard pavement.

Manolo|Male|Chihuahua|4 y/o
Location: Streets
Mentions: No one, open for interaction!

Manolo had lost track of time, the setting and rising of the sun his only method of keeping count of the days. He couldn't recall when he last ate but the sheer emptiness of his stomach reminded him he'd have to go out and scavenge soon. Crawling out of the abandoned badger den that resided on the edge of the forest he ducked his head and shook dirt out of his short fur. The location was beneficial, he technically wasn't in anyone's territory where he was and he could see what was happening in the streets as well as what happened among the trees with out leaving his home.

His small body trembled, he was cold and worried, every time he set foot in the streets he always met large difficulties he had to face like strays, wild animals, and general debris that threatened his small paws. The chihuahua stayed low to the ground, hiding among the looming mist with ease. He knew his place and he knew better than to be caught by a larger dog, using his sense of smell to lead him to some sort of food. He was delicate in his movements, avoiding glass and pebbles along the asphalt as his short nails let a soft clack, clack, clack echo through the area.

His large ears swiveled back and forth, his predatory set of eyes betraying his true nature as easy prey. He was on edge, afraid, and his empty stomach yearned for just a nibble of food. Paranoia overwhelmed him, and he knew he had every right to be when his small nose caught a whiff of a much larger dogs scent. Feet betraying his will to run he stopped dead, ducking to the ground and waiting to see if this canine was a threat of a beneficiary before he'd decide to flee.

Inconnu | Genderless/Male | Basenji | 2yrs, 8mnths
Location | Abandoned Supermarket
Mentions | Nobody. :)

Claws clattered noisily against the linoleum floor of an abandoned market, echoing eerily between the dilapidated shelving units, the products -- or what was left of them, anyway -- crumpled and coated in dirt. Having now returned the floor, the young basenji trod gracelessly along the aisles, eyes perusing the multitude of near-barren display racks and shelves. Hunger gnawed ruthlessly at his gut, driving him forward even as exhaustion dragged at his paws -- it had been a long few days of exploring, with little to show for it. No rat had poked its shivering whiskers from a crack in the street, no crumbs or scraps had littered the alley corners -- and, on a more positive note, he hadn't come into contact with any dogs recently. It occurred to him that that may very well be the issue; no dogs roamed here, because of the sheer lack of resources. Inconnu admitted he had strayed too far from his typical path... however, the area had grown too volatile for his liking -- too crowded by the scents of other dogs. So yes, he had allowed himself to wander, only to curse himself for it now. With a huff, the dog dipped his nose, tongue swiping across the floor in an almost mournful fashion. Mistake or not, he refused to leave until he had poked and prodded every single corner he could reach.
Coming upon the next row of towering displays, he cocked his head, ears perking as he stared inquisitively upward. With a curiosity that nagged to be sated, he bowed his hindquarters, muscles bunching in anticipation -- and leapt, vertically but slightly forward, into the shelving unit. His legs clanging painfully upon it, but with a quick scramble he managed to hook his forepaws on a higher shelf, and his hinds did the same after a frightening pause. Feeling himself slipping, the little dog promptly hauled himself upward, claws catching on the grooves that linked the structures together. After a forceful struggle, he finally stood, albeit hunched, on one of the surfaces that had not been visible from the floor. Pleased that the manoeuver had gone well the first time -- because he was no stranger to botched attempts -- he crept cautiously across, bumping his muzzle into every container he crossed, toppling and then flattening any decomposing boxes, or other such items that could be flattened. His curled tail stiffened eagerly as a gnawed-on corner of a bag allowed powdery contents to spill onto the metal beneath. Approaching, he gave the odd substance a hesitant sniff before sticking his tongue into it.
It was an action he quickly regretted -- despite its banal scent, a sickening, chemical taste filled his mouth and he coughed, hacking slightly as his alarmed reaction pulled loose particles into the back of his throat. Disgusted, he backed away from the powder, eyeing it with an air of betrayal as he settled down to lick his paws, ridding the substance from his tongue as best he could. Even so, some of it refused to come off -- and in his frustration, he abandoned the shelf, determining the rest of its contents inedible. Dropping to the floor, he glowered suspiciously at the items he had knocked down for further investigation, similarly abandoning them out of spite. A loud, keening wail parted his jaws, raising a cacophony of metallic echoes from his surroundings -- only to stop abruptly a few moments later. Ignorant to the senseless action, he began to pace the aisles once more.
Agitated by his negative experience, the black-and-white basenji restricted further exploration of the building to a basic sweep, not bothering to investigate the higher shelves any longer. In his mind, the higher shelves were now useless, full of no potentially edible items -- even though he had found a few scattered crumbs up there before. It only took one negative association to convince him, though, so he stuck to the floor and low shelves, only bothering to go as high as he could get by awkwardly staggering onto his hind paws. With such a brief perusal, he soon emerged from the building -- carefully picking his way through a shattered hole in the glass door. In the end, he was no better when he left than when he had entered -- if not worse, the physical exertion of his curiosity causing his muscles to ache all the more.
