"H-hey! Wait!" Shayla yelped and splashed after him, crossing the deep stream with strong strokes despite her legs feeling numb. She pulled herself out of the water and gave a great shake, water droplets flying into the air. The blood had faded to a light pink tinge which would wash out with a good grooming later. She chased after Vex and caught up after a couple of moments, and kept running ahead. There was no way she was going slow and letting the cold get to her. Best to run and warm her muscles until she got to their dry dry. Our camp she mused to herself. Illumi would be pleased, no doubt.

Vex chuckled as she sped ahead, kicking up on his hind legs for a moment before bolting after Shayla. A soft AROO! exiting his muzzle before he followed after happily. The blood staining his muzzle now pink instead of the bright red it was before their dip. His tail swung behind him as he followed the fae, back to camp, his heart hammering in his chest at the chance to see Illumi once again. He felt his cheeks heat up at even the slightest mention of the larger brute, though he pushed the feelings down for the time being. They were still technically on the mission and he needed to focus. Yea. On that h--. Vex. Stop.

Shayla slowed to a walk as they reached the camp, pink tongue hanging from her mouth as she panted with the exertion of the run. The wind from running had somewhat dried her thick pelt now and could feel her blood buzzing with adrenaline, though her injured paw was aching something fierce. Looking at Vex, she said "Tell Meruem I said you did fine. I'm gonna go rest my paw. And if Killua gives you any trouble send him to me." She snapped her jaws in a teasing manner before padding away to the gammas den.

Meruem sat outside her den, awaiting the return of Shayla and Vex. Or just Shayla, depending on how the mission had gone. She thought of Killua, and knew she had to do something to reaffirm his loyalty to her. Siblings or not, she knew that a sense of family didn't get in the way of Killuas devotion to his duty as a gamma and assassin. A flicker of movement at the edge of camp caught her eye as Shayla padded into camp. The creamy white she-wolf looked...wet? And the scent of blood was unmistakeable. But the gammas expression was happy, so Meruem did not grow alarmed. She waited to be approached.

Vex flicked his ears around to Shayla, bowing down before her with a single forepaw raised, "Of course m'lady." He mumbled out before looking to Meruem, walking up to her and repeating the bow he did to the gamma. "Shayla is resting her paw, she said I did fine though. After the beheading we even left the carcass of the sheep between sunrise and the human place. After I suggested us travel into the border a bit to clean the blood and scents off of us to deter the dogs away, mangy mutts could easily ruin plans." He shrugged slightly, his eyes looking for Illumi around them discreetly.

Meruem glanced at Shayla and felt momentarily troubled for the pale she-wolf. It was Shaylas own fault that she had been caught in the trap but a tracker of Shayla's calibre was needed in the pack, and an injured paw wasn't something Meruem needed right now. She made a mental note to send an omega for herbs later. Her green and gold eyes flicked to Vex. "I'm glad to hear that you can take the initiative, Vex. If those 'mangy mutts' somehow do make it back to camp I will trust you to take care of it." A smirk tugged at her lips. "Since you accomplished your mission and then some, I would like to welcome you to the pack. Time will tell if the decision was the right one to make. I'll have Illumi be your guide for the next few days until you get settled in." She felt a moment of self gratification, knowing that Illumi would probably want nothing else but to be Vex's guide, considering his behaviour towards the new wolf. The brindled she-wolf rose to her paws and padded over to the large boulder, leaping up with ease to the top. She tilted back her head and let loose a long, loud howl, calling all wolves to meet.

Vex felt a slight smile grace his features at the alphas words, "Of course alpha." He dipped down into another bow before his eyes greedily sought out the male, his tail swinging at the mention of Illumi being his guide. He heard the howl and sighed when he didn't spot the brute yet, walking towards the boulder and sitting quite a distance away from it. Only in respect for the other pack members though, his eyes grazing over everyone, including the pup and it's mom he spotted earlier. -short asf-

Illumi sat down next to Vex, having come up from behind without a noise, though he doubted that Vex hadn't sensed him in the last few moments. He hadn't disguised his presence after all. "I was listening," he said in a quiet but happy voice, inky gaze meeting the other males. "Well done on getting in." He smirked and a fire was lit in his gaze. "Now I can truly get to know you, inside and out." He discovered that he wanted more than anything else to dig up all of this wolf's secrets and make them his own. He was this was way with Killua, but Killua was his brother and there would always be a sheet of glass between them, whether it be from rivalry or difference of opinions.

Killua | Gamma

Killua glanced at Meruem from his spot on one side of camp. He watched Vexing and a Illuminated interact, and his stomach clenched in...jealousy? Or was it disgust that his brother had been so quick to welcome a stranger, a ROGUE into the pack. He thought his brother had shared at least some of his views on rogues, but apparently not. Two thoughts passed through his mind - Lucifer, the alpha of the Dusk fall that he had run into earlier that morning; going home, back to the main shadowpack. He was an assassin after all, if his pack needed him he shouldn't be hesitating just because his brother was here. Illumi was the one that got tongue tied without him nearby, why should him being all starry eyed affect KILLUA'S duty, his job, his REPUTATION? As Killua thought of tricking Lucifer, he found himself snapping at himself - 'you shouldn't charm her into your favor!'; 'what?! Are you WORRIED what she thinks now? Or even worse, WORRIED TO LEAVE HER? Why is it bad to manipulate? Nothing wrong with that!'.

Illumi could practically feel the menace emanating from Killua, and he looked at his snow white brother. He tried to convey in his gaze that his love for Killua hadn't lessened in the slightest just because he was drawn to Vex, but when he tried imagining Killua in a similar situation rage began unfurling in his stomach. He'd just have to hope that Killua and Vex got along well in time. He knew that Killua, like Illumi, had an appreciation for those with the skill to kill effortlessly. Vex seemed like the type of wolf who could though obviously that had not yet been proved.

Meruem saw that all her wolves had gathered, and began. "Today we welcome a new wolf to our ranks. Vex will be joining ShadowPack as a gamma, with Illumi as his guide." she motioned to where Illumi and Vex sat. "He passed his initiation test, the results of which we will no doubt be hearing about soon." She wondered how long it would take the humans to retaliate. Days only, most likely. She would have to prepare words for Sunrise pack. Her eyes found Killua and she smiled at her brother. "I also promote Killua to the rank of beta. He has shown true loyalty to the ways of ShadowPack and cares for it as much as I." There, brother. I do trust you, see? Now return the favour she thought his way. She looked at Artemis. Her sister would probably be feeling cheated, but she was not yet suitable for the rank of beta. She could not lie as well as Killua could. "I appoint Isis and Raphael as deltas, and I hear that Jaz also wishes to begin her training. Illumi and Killua have taken that duty upon themselves."

Killua | Beta

As Meruem's words reached his ears, his glower at Illumi and Vex turned into an unreadable stare at Meruem. {Well played my sister. I can't very much leave for home or cheat on this pack with another if my rank is beta. It will draw attention, shade my reputation, and put my package in danger. Branch pack or not, the higher ups wouldn't take kindly if this pack was attacked and I - it's beta - was trying to do my assassination duties. Well played, sister.} Killua plastered a fake smile on his face and padded toward the ledge, dipping his head and adding a silky tone facade over his rattling anger. "I will do my best to serve the pack as its beta, and my sister as its alpha" he took the chance to glance up at his sister, making it look like a comment of gratification, but glancing at his sister with a mix of unreadable and pure suspicion on his face.

Artemis | Delta
(So with rapid and isis as deltas, does that mean Artemisia isn't a delta anymore or there are three? Cuz either way imma have fun playing this off)

Artemis' full-time glare turned into an icy expressionless stare at Meruem. While her sister's choice was the right one - Artemis was no fool, anyone that met her and Killua knew that Killua was born to lead. Born to kill. Born to manipulate. Killua had constantly been watched, feared, and respected growing up. The adults were both prideful that he was so skilled, afraid for their own heads if they found themselves facing against him, and respected his naturalist of the position he held. She held no ill will toward her sister, but her sister owed her - big time. And Artemis would make sure she was paid back in full.

Meruem returned Killua's silky smile and lifted her chin, her glowing eyes gazing down at him with a mixture of undisguised condescension and warning. I'll always be watching you brother. Whether its to keep you safe or keep your loyalties in line, you can be sure of that she growled mentally. "I shall announce your rank at the gathering tomorrow night," she promised and her eyes narrowed into green slits. "You can show off to all of our neighbours." Her voice sounded like she was joking, but the meaning in it would be clear to Killua. She was certain that he would like to impress some wolves more than others. The dark pelted she-wolf leaped off the boulder, landing in a crouch, and rose to pad over to Killua. She touched her nose to his with a loving smile and whispered in his ear "Don't try to lie to me Kil. It takes a liar to understand one, got it?" she took a step back and tilted her head. "Do whatever in the world you want, dear brother, so long as it serves to make our pack stronger. And don't get caught."

Vex felt his pelt prickle slightly, as it always did when something approached him from behind, but by the way this was more intense he knew who it was. His ears burning as the male praised him, feeling a smile touch his own features. He ignored the silent actions between the brothers, simply leaning into Illumi ever so slightly and giving a bright smile as his rank was announced. Gamma... Not bad not bad at all. He drug his tongue across his teeth slowly, some blood still remaining there. A dark colored fae standing at the mention of 'Isis', he tilted his head slightly before focusing back on the brute beside him.

Isis smiled as she was announced Delta, her tail thumping before she stood and dipped her head slightly. Though her lips curled over her teeth at the mention of the brothers teaching her daughter, Why was I not told of this? They'll be getting a earful after this for sure! -shortt-

Jaz felt her mothers gaze burn into her pelt and simply sat up taller in acknowledgement to it, she was happy they were training her. Her lips curling upwards with happiness. -short-

Killua | Beta

Killua smiled back and murmured "I have no idea what you mean, dear sister. Is it my interpack affair or my thoughts of returning home that you are talking about? Or both? Nonetheless, I think my little affair will benefit everyone. Beta of one pack and the father of the next leaders of our rival pack. Benefits me, benefits you as their aunt, and benefits our rivals as strong members. We aren't yet to that point, however I am thinking of the future first and foremost. It's not like I actually have feelings for the insecure alphas - she's just handy to have around." He hummed, his eyes twinkling with the prospective of being beta in one pack and being influential to another - though the second one hates him. "It will also call for some amusement, don't you think - my sociopathic little sister." He flicked his tail over her ear as he trotted by, his eyes sparkling in satisfaction.

(OK so basically, Killua has fallen for Lucifer since the beginning. HOWEVER, he himself does not believe it or know the feeling, so to compensate he thinks it's his 'master plan' and best work ever, coming up with tricking/manipulating Lucifer into becoming mates. Eventually let's hope he comes to realize his feelings or he might be using Lucifer to his benefit as well as loving her)
