Meruem listened quietly while Miro gave her report, making quick calculations and strategies in her mind as how to tackle these problems. Having a spy in those try-hard packs was certainly worth it, especially if ShadowPack was to take over that part of the forest as well. The only issue with settling in that area was the human hunters who had wiped out the former White Moon Pack that she'd heard about from the Sunrise scout. They would have to be constantly on guard for further attacks and wolves trained to deal with hunters would need to be posted there. "We will take care of those Black Water fools before they get ahead of themselves," she said to both Miro and Killua. "An attack that will wipe them out completely and also scare the Crescents into backing off. Exterminating the threats will clear us of any lingering debts Sunrise still thinks we owe them." She smirked. "We will attack at the next half moon, at moonhigh. Miro you may eat at camp and rest your paws for the day before returning. I'll send word if the plan changes between now and then."

Illumi | Gamma

Illumi slunk into the field after Jazzlyn, his dark eyes habitually scanning the area for threats. The sunlight glinted off his raven black pelt, bringing out shades of dark blue and purple, and his long tail trailed through the shallow snow on the ground. He waited for Jazzlyn to come over so they could get the lesson started, though he also watched her scare the crap out of the birds with a measure of amusement

Killua sighed "Can't we take out the weakest links? If we take out the strongest yes we'll have more in the fear sense, but we dont have enough fighters for a massacre. Chasing out yes, ambush yes, but if we want them to stay out we need a massacre, and keeping them from running will only occupy our little number of fighters that we have. I do have an IDEA for if you really want to wipe them out and keep casualties minimum to none, and without any runners, but itll put the new recruits in a confusing place if they font know their exact orders." He hummed, flicking his tail leisurely.

Meruem raised a brow and gazed at Killua questioningly. "Please, go on," she drawled. He seemed to have forgotten that the quality of their numbers far exceeded those of a rag tag bunch of wolves, especially if Shayla and Isis were to return by next half moon which was more than likely. It wouldn't be the first time ShadowPack had blasted their way through a pack with lesser numbers.

Killua rolled his eyes at her mocking tone "If you think we can do it anyway, by all means lets do it. Besides Jazz and whatever you've showed them though, i know for a fact that this pack has spent much more time hunting and chatting than fighting or practicing at all the past few months. Even Illumi and I havent spent enough time practicing. Til that halfmoon, if you think we can take the pack with larger numbers down so simply without casualties and a well thought out strategy, i ask you that you put me in charge of battle practice. Most of the new recruits havent even been evaluated for battle prowess - Id like to personally oversee battle training for half a moon."

Meruem snorted and looked away dismissively."I don't know where you've been looking Killua but I've had them training since two moons ago, one on one. I don't let helpless pups into the pack and they can take care of themselves. I'm not waiting any longer for that rogue pack to gain more numbers and attain an advantage over us. Unless you no longer have confidence in your own abilities to take down multiple enemies." She gave him a condescending look with a pitiful smile "ShadowPack has never backed down from a foe before. Especially a group of rogues. Trust in our strength or run away with your tail between your legs. It's up to you." She turned and started padding back to camp through the snow.

(I mean like honestly. I love ya and the qualities you share with her are fine but she is becoming infuriating while you are like the sister i dont have that i coincidentally get along with better than anyone else. But Meruem makes me plot.

Is it alright if i test the pack a bit in their fighting - Id like to see if anyone has spent too much time modifying themselves to battle you and each other in one on one that they havent done enough to fight on speed and mind alone."

Meruem's expression softened, her snide mood gone with his words. "I'd appreciate that," she said to him and slowed so they were walking side by side. She didn't like that Miro had seen them quarrel but there was nothing to be done about that now. Killua had passed her little test. "If you are truly worried about our strength, we can enlist Sunrise in the attack," she conceded with a flick of her ears. "I'd like you to remain behind during the gathering tonight," she murmured to him, eyes straight ahead. "Artemis will be taking your place as beta until we get back. You'll understand in time." She couldn't say why just yet, but she need him in camp tonight. "If you must see your darling Lucifer you may watch from the shadows for a little while then return."

Killua chuckled "I had a feeling you might say i wasn't going to the gathering. I might qatch from the shadows, but only to see what you'll be up to by saying that im not beta to the other packs. I kind of want to know if you're planning a 'My brother has died and we are grieving him' with naming sister as honorary beta in my absense" he grinned slightly at her, and for the first time in many months, he gave his sister a sibling-like affectionate nudge with his shoulder, eith the force of a nudge but the look of a body check. Killua tilted his head "While I'd absolutely LOVE to tear the distrustful look off that little alphess of sunrise, i dont think its time yet for them. We SHOULD do a little test raid of both duskfall and sunrise, but not at the same time nor anytime within the next two months. Allow some seed planting in duskfall, and by the time we have our own double agents growing up within duskfall, duskfall will not be able to hold us back. We take over the Black Water and Crescent area, and pincer sunrise and duskfall. This side directly bordering duskfall, and the other side directly bordering sunrise. In many moons time we could even launch a war, half the troops invading sunrise, half duskfall, the duskfall agents striking from within, we bring both alphess' down before us, and have them swear loyalty. If not - we find a pseudo alpha who will. Shadowpack will rule these lands one day. Soon enough." He finished his little speech with a malicious smile, his sharpened teeth glimmering.

Meruem gave him a playful growl in return for his gesture, though any love she might have felt was once again pulled back into the depths of the strange hollow inside her. She acted more out of habit and intuition than feeling. "What you say is all good, brother," she said after listening to him. "But Sunrise and Duskfalls combined strength is still too much for us even now. I swore I would never harm a Duskfall and I mean that. No ShadowPack wolf shall." She gave him a sideways grin "But your pups aren't ShadowPack, are they? When they are grown and strong they will play their part as well. As for Sunrise Pack I am trusting the humans to do some of the dirty work, especially as they've already picked off one of them." She had an idea and said suddenly "I don't suppose the Black waters and Crescents would be against playing with dear Kenai would they? If we gave them a little..encouragement."

Jazzlyn bounced back to Illumi and Vex. Not an emotion on her face, the apprentice plopped on her haunches and straightened up much like a soldier or police dog would in front of its commanding officer. Her eyes trained just above illumis head as she waited for command from either, muscles tensing as she prepared for a surprise attack or something of the like.

vex watched her romp around before sitting before them like he used to with his old alpha. He shook off the memory and looked at Illumi for a clue on what to do.
