Mika laughed, his face a picture of joy as he drank in the sight of his best friend. At her words he cocked his head "You say that as though I could keep up with you to begin with!" he laughed, though he followed her example and dropped into a crouch. A smug look came to his face and he said proudly "We may have trained in separate packs since then but Shayla taught me how to hunt the way you do." His crouch was identical to the one taught to ShadowPack hunters, which he had perfected over the past few weeks. He crawled forward and pawed at her face playfully, like a pup. His eyes sparkled with amusement (I'm envisioning anime eyes again lol!) "But we can test out the difference between us now if you like!". So overcome with joy at their reunion, he hardly registered the looks and whispers they were drawing. Mika had never understood Artemis' fearsome reputation; she was nothing but sweet and comforting in the memories he had of her from their training days. Sure, she'd turned out to be a spy from ShadowPack, but he could never shake the affection he held for her.

Meruem | Alpha | Mentions Miro

Meruem smiled, though it did not reach her eyes. "ShadowPack has faced many dangers before. I understand that you believe they are a great threat to us but our fighting techniques are unrivaled. None have stood before them and triumphed before." Her faith in the packs strength was absolute and it showed in her tone of voice. Meruem wouldn't allow this chance to fall through, nor let Sunrise steal the glory. Even if a part of her was hungering for power she was always able to think clearly and rationally past it, and decide best how to achieve it. It was why she had been appointed alpha at barely 2 years of age.
"If this Ivailo shows up I will show him the same courtesy as any guest of ShadowPack, you have my word on that," the she-wolf vowed. Though she was able to promise anything and break said promises without a trace of guilt, she meant it when she said it this time. "Any opportunity to develop our strength is welcomed here. And I trust you to send us the right wolf." As she gazed at Miro she felt a prick of sympathy for the she-wolf, but had no mind at all to relent. But she feigned her compassion anyway and met Miro's gaze on purpose. "Do whatever you have to do. I understand that it is hard...but that is the way of ShadowPack that you have chosen. It will not be for naught."

Artemis grinned and began to circle him. He was the only reason she'd felt bad for spying on riverpack, but she'd been glad she had. Her mission at 7 months of age was to see if Nanuks pup was actually her brother, whom her mother had sent away at birth to keep the pup safe. What she had determined from young scent, watching Nanuk, and traits, Mika was her litter brother. She had returned to shadowpack and told shadow that he was not, to keep him alive. As far as she knew, she was the only one besides her mother and Nanuk that knew about his true parents - and she planned to protect him and keep it that way so it didn't darken his heart, he was pure and innocent, and she worried that if he was around shadowpack too much he might not stay how he was then, and still seems to be now. She'd protect him from shadowpack's darkness, her darkness, and his own darkness that threatened to take a glance around at this shadowpack. Artemis play growled and bounded away from him at a sort of gliding lope, her pawsteps silent as she went with the wind and rustle of trees.

Killua blinked in confusion and glanced at Shayla "Umm...did you know about whatever the hell is going on here?" He gestured his tail to Artemis, who hadnt stopped actually smiling since she'd seen the male. He noticed Alecai's amused expression and the other male hummed "He never stops talking about her. Most of the stories we were there for but he still tells us all the time. Those two are closer than mates, closer than siblings, they are inseparable - when they are in the same pack, at least."

She nodded, she took a moment to collect herself "It is a must have to let it out before a mission and I would rather do it here in front of you than in front of others. I trust you more than most" she said, her voice and face returning to normal within seconds. "I would rather looked weak for a moment than he plagued for the remainder of my mission" she elaborated. "I know the power of ShadowPack, and I know of her victories" she said quietly.

"Thank you" she dipped her head in respect for Mereum's decision on treatment of Ivailo, "I know this is my job, It has been for 2 years, I wouldn't change it for anything in the world, my only difficulty is being from home for too long. But It was I who asked to leave early and it will be I who deals with it." She looked at the Alpha's take on compassion and tried not to say anything. She stood up and nodded to her alpha once more.

"I will return when something dire arises. If I am able to turn any of the Black Water, I will send them as messengers and if I return myself...something has gone wrong" She doesn't look back as she leaves the den. She leaves for the entrance but gets side-tracked when a familiar scent hits her nose. "Shayla?" she looked around, she hadn't seen the she-wolf in so long. She wasn't present when the wolf left, and when she came back she found out that she was gone.

Shayla | Gamma | Mentions Artemis, Mika, Alecai and Miro
Shayla giggled as she watched Artemis and Mika play. "Even the darkest of ShadowPack hearts can be affected, it seems," she said warmly. She nodded in agreement with Alecai. "As soon as Mika heard that Artemis was in his pack he practically volunteered to come along. I've never seen someone so excited to visit a shadowpack wolf!" She looked towards the alpha's den, wondering when Meruem would be free so Shayla could give her a report, and the message she'd been asked to deliver. As she watched, Miro padded from the den and said her name. The white she-wolf touched her nose to Alecai's muzzle. "I'll be back." She bounded over to Miro, tail wagging and stopped short of the other wolf. "Hey Miro! Or Yano, I can never remember which you prefer," Shayla grinned. She tilted her head, blue eyes bright with happiness. "I'm glad to see you!"

Meruem | Alpha | Mentions Miro
Meruem nodded to Miro as she left, and settled into a more comfortable position on her skin. She'd allow Miro to return to normal pack duties after the raid if she so wished. Mereum had no intention of letting her members wear themselves to the bone and end up being useless after all. She had a range of other spies at her disposal though a female was usually easier to sneak into packs than males. Now that the business with Miro was over she awaited Shayla's arrival in her den as well as the newcomers.

Mika | Gamma | Male | Mentions Artemis

Mika leaped after Artemis, looking like a bounding part as his jaws parted in a grin and he followed her in a much louder fashion past the treeline. He wanted to explore the forest with her by his side but knew he had to see the alpha first, and waited patiently for Artemis to calm down after sitting by a tree stump, his tail still thumping against the ground with happiness.

Ven trotted up to the Alpha's perch and plopped down next to her, "Hello Meruem." He said quietly and smiled slightly.
Ven looked down at the camp and at all the pack members that were gathered together, he liked this spot. "When are you leaving to go to the gathering tonight?" Ven asked, still watching the wolves, his eyes drifted to the new male and Artemis, and then to Shayla, and finally landing on Raphael and Zenya. Ven looked over at Meruem and flicked his tail calmly.

She heard a familiar voice and turned to face the she-wolf with a rare smile on her face "Hello Shayla" she looked the she-wolf over "Well, you look like you've been through the ringer" she chuckled jokingly. "I go by either one, Yano or Miro is fine with me" she elaborated. "I am glad to see you as well Shayla. I apologize for missing your departure last but I was, as usual, on a mission" she smiled. She couldn't help but smile when she was around Shayla, her bright blue eyes and bubbly attitude was extremely contagious, although she wouldn't be bouncing for anything.

vex looked to Illumi in concern, Jazz had never just run off mid-session before. He watched the pup confron shayla, bristle, then run into the delta den. His ears flattened backwards as his lips curled. The other members of camp forgotten as the male darted towards the den. His paws slammed down, flinging him up and over the forms of Artemis and Miro, his paws connected to the ground once again and the lithe male was only a blur entering the den. Leaves and grass whipped in after him, the male moving to fast for it to be right behind him, "Jazz? What's wrong?" His voice held no warmth, only a bit of concern. He was pissed the other members did nothing to confront the pup nor Shayla on the matter.

"Go away!" Her voice was like ice, harsh and cold. Her once stern expression cracking into one of sadness. She felt empty, emotionless and sad. -short-

Mika | Mentions Artemis

Mika chuckled and nodded enthusiastically "That would be great! I think I'd be too intimidated to go to the gathering though. I hate everyone staring." As a small male with an odd eye colours he'd often been the target of stares throughout his life and he hated it. He could only imagine being introduced at a gathering, though he knew it'd happen at some point.

Meruem | Mentions Ven

Meruem nodded to Ven. "We leave when the moon reaches its full height. Are you prepared?" she asked him simply, her eyes fixed on the opening of the den. She happened to like Ven very much, as much as a wolf like her could like anyone. He could get a job done and knew when to shut up and take orders, not to mention his insight was very helpful to her sometimes. Plus his large size reminded her of her grandfather, a huge wolf called Dire who had tutored her in the ways of a healer when she was being raised as delta of the pack. She'd found those lessons incredibly boring but the gentle wolf had been a nice change from the cold hearted alpha of the pack.
A white head popped into the den and was followed by the lithe body of Shayla. The tracker came forward and sat in front of Meruem. Meruem noted how her eyes flashed to Ven and the look of admiration she threw his way, and the brindled alpha found herself feeling strangely irritated. But she made the feeling disappear as she was accustomed to doing and spoke "Well, Shayla? Your report?"
Shayla shuffled her paws anxiously and said "I'd rather wait for the rest of my companions if you don't mind. I'll be over faster that way. I have called them..."
Meruem sighed by complied, waiting their arrival. A brown she-wolf followed Shayla into the den and sat behind her, her eyes defiant.

Shayla | Mentions Miro

Shayla shrugged "It's fine. You didn't miss much. We left when no one noticed; no questions to slow us down," she replied with a smile. "The journey back home was so much harder as a pair than as a pack! You wouldn't believe how troublesome a bear can actually be." She remember her fright at waking up in a cave with a grizzly looming over her. She'd never moved so fast in her life in escaping. "Anyway, I'd better go report to Meruem before she gets mad. As soon as I report I can sleep!" she grinned, and padded past Miro with an affectionate lick to her ear. The white wolf howled briefly to let Mika know they had to speak to the alpha and headed towards the den.

Illumi | Mentions Jazz and Vex

Illumi watched Vex go with confusion. His keen hearing had picked up what Shayla had said but he didn't understand why they had to go and comfort the cub. Members died. That was life. He couldn't get upset over every death. But if his mate wanted to take care of Jazz he wouldn't stop him. The black assassin padded over to Killua, listening as he spoke to Shayla. After she'd left he mused "You have your paws full brother. She's brought more for you to train."

Ven nodded slightly and scooted closer towards Meruem as Shayla entered, "Welcome back Shayla." He said curtly. Ven's tail wrapped around his front paws, he was anticipating the meeting tonight, but he knew all would go well. He listened quietly to the chatter of the two before Shayla announced that others were coming. "Should I leave Meruem?" He leaned closer to her to ask his question.

"Ah, yes. Bears are the worst" she chuckled and nodded to the pure white she-wolf when she mentioned having to report to Mereum. She knew how important reporting in to the Alpha was. She was surprised when she felt Shayla's tongue quickly swiping across her ear, her eyes were wide staring after the female. It has been so long that she was even touched that she forgot what it felt like to be close to another, much less touch another.

She looked towards the entrance of camp, then looked back at her home. She stared at her pack for a moment before narrowing her eyes, nodding to herself, and turning back towards the entrance. She would do everything she could in order to ensure her packs MAXIMUM survival rate. She didn't want any of them getting hurt, and she would be damned if it happened when she could do something about it.

The Dark brown female lunged into a run, right out of camp. She kept running, dodging every rock and tree in her way. Her paws were as quiet as she could make them, but she couldn't help the sound of leaves smacking against her sides. Her amber eyes never left the path in front of her, that was all she could do. Look forward.....never look back.

Meruem shook her head, glancing up at the male briefly. "You may as well stay." In the half light of the den it looked like he had gotten even closer...or had he really? The question lingered in her mind as she gazed up at him until she felt confused as to why it even mattered to her. But for some reason it did. She forced herself to look back at Shayla and saw that her relative was looking rather uncomfortable with Meruems answer. Well, if it was truly important that only Meruems ears hear it then she would send Ven away, but for now she wanted him to stay.

Raphael | Gamma | mentions Zenya

Raphael stood, his gaze flitting around the camp as he determined the position of each pack member. "Let's go to the den and go over the details of the plan," he said in a quiet voice to Zenya. He had to make sure that she was fully prepared for the task they were about to undertake and it wasn't just out of concern for the missions success either. He couldn't bear the thought of her being in danger.

She licked the top of his head and draped her tail over his back in a supporting-pillar gesture.

Ven nodded slightly and laid down, he was relaxed but still at attention. He scooted closer to Meruem to the point their pelts were touching as Raphael and Zenya entered the den. He stayed relaxed but ready for anything, he listened to their conversations. Ven's mind wandered as he thought about the future he had here, he wondered if Meruem felt anything for him, as he felt a blossoming in his heart for her. He wondered about his place in the pack.

Zenya yawned and leaned against Raphael, giving him a lick on his cheek before following him towards Meruem's den, "You're coming with me on the mission, right?" She said worriedly. She had faith in herself but she wanted to be there in case anything happened. Zenya rubbed her face against his side before padding into the den and acknowledging the alpha, "Hello Meruem, welcome back Shayla, I missed you." She licked Shayla's shoulder before sitting down.
