Zenith rolled onto his back lazily, his fiery, black tipped and white speckled tail curled as he outstretched his gigantic paws into the air. He huffed, flicking an ear as he flopped onto his side to look out into the distance. Flies buzzed around his face, and he simply nipped at them from time to time. He looked over his shoulder as his newly selected queen approached, plopping down next to him. He was not one for company but he was surprised she didn't just come over to swat him. He sniffled as she sprawled out next to him happily, despite these unfortunate past months. They have had a lot of pride members starve off or get ill. Almost all that remained was royalty. Oh well, at least it leaves the possibility for his newest generation. His ears twitched as he heard light thumping on the ground, before a young, fiery pelted little lioness charged past and nearly tripped over him. "S-sorry!" She yelped, and Zenith immediately got up and looked at the teen questioningly. Ah, it was their healer. Well, sort of. She claimed to be taking lessons from the spirits, but at this point he didn't really care anymore. "Go back to the den site, cub. Leave me alone." He snorted, watching as the clumsy little lady gathered her herbs and quickly left as soon as possible.

Azure lay beneath the same tree that she has lazed under so many months before, her coat now shining against the rays of the sun, equal parts icy and fiery under the dapples of the mottled mark. She rubbed her head against the bark of the tree, as she gazed out over the horizon, thinking to herself. She had not found a suitor, as a famine had fallen over the pride lands, and many prides began to suffer. Her pride had not suffered much, but many others were devastated, and the main concern for most was to survive, rather than try to claim her heart, which she had to admit she was relieved about.
She was coming onto her third year now, though, and she knew her father would not be this patient for long. She thought back to the large brute, Lucifer, that she had met at that gathering so long ago. He was the only one she could think of since her birth ceremony, and she had not seen him since.
She had grown quite a bit, her muscles becoming firm, and more well-developed, despite the famine. Her head was held high, defined beautifully by the bones of her face and the onyx dappled marks of her coat. She was slender, yet powerful, a beautiful beast of the savanna - a Queen, worthy of non other than those who would fight for her.

Operia padded through the long grass tail flicking as her blue eyes shined bright. The scent of other lions flowed in her lungs as she sniffed the air. A small growl slipped past her lips as she headed towards the east. Her cocoa coat did little to blend in with her surrounds as the yellow savanna grass stood out like a sore thumb.

Aguta walked through the dry grass, her white eyes gazing over the savanna. "Hopefully there's at least some food around here," she whispered to herself, feeling worn out from the sun beaming down on her back. She gazed up at it, looking down at once as the sun burned her eyes, yet the blinding soon faded away. Then she began her trek once again, then caught scent of blood, her ears perked up as she neared. Seeing a human cutting off the skin of a zebra she charged at the human, ending in him grabbing for his knife, but at once she was upon him. Soon dealing with him she looked towards the east, then looked at the zebra, then finally at the human. "Small first, big later," she told herself, clamping down on the leg of the human, then began to drag him to the cave.

Operia lazily moved as she walked on the tracks of where the 4wd normally go on, she scented the air smelling blood. Her ears pricked up slightly at the sound of zebras and buffalo. The smell of water was close by so close she could nearly taste it. With a flick of her tail she trotted towards it heading to get a drink and possible some shade. As she got to the waterhole she licked her jowls and ignored the flighty animals as they darted away from her. She crouched down greedily sipping from the cool water wary of any unknown creatures under the water. Feeling the cool liquid settle in her stomach she purred licking the water off her lips and muzzle.
