I'm gonna try and answer you as best I can :)
Let me know if these answers help you out or if anything is unclear.

The rules apply to the account that ypu are joining with. Your other account can still be a "regular" one, no Hard Mode required there.

2.
Generally ypeaking, yes you can have non-Hard Mode lions if they are clearly labled in one way or another.
But for specifics I'd alaway ask Cerrates (our clan owner) directly, if you want to make sure that everything is fine.

3.
Having a thread is definitely ok. I don't think you even have to separate funds at all, it's really all about the lions.
As for the mass breeding, I think that is a question for Cerrates again :)

4.
The idea of the challenge is to start over fresh and only use those lions thata re allowed in Hard Mode going forward. So using a gen 4 lion as your king actively goes against the whole idea of hard mode. After all, we try to breed cool lions and achieve personal projects from scratch following a certein set of rules.
It's not about just having a heritageless king.

5.
Yes.

6.
Up to you really. Hard Mode rules give you a certain guideline to follow and various members add to those in their own way to make it more of a challenge or fit their play style. As logn as you follow the official Hard Mode rules, everything else is up to you.
Personally my two accounts don't have seperate items or finances.
It helps me keep things organized and I always keep less than 5k SB on my side account, in order to advance the achievement of collecting SB in explore XD
Of course both my accounts are HM at this point, but even before when only one account was HM, I still handled it this way.

7.
This is probably all right if it's not something that happens a lot and if you label it properly.
Also, inbreeding is allowed in HM as long as you follow the HM rules. Some of us choose not to do it, but that's a personal choice.
I myself try to keep my pride clean, but when I breed for a certain project that gets very, very inbred fast. I then heritage rep the king once the project is finished and get rid of the inbred lionesses.

Recently accomplished step one of my goal- bred an ebony lion and I plan to king them soon so I can move on to step 2, getting ivory lionesses and breeding to my king to try and get a hard mode soul lion :)

I kinged my heir, and named him iniquitous :)
Also got two chased lioness and changed their bases to ivory, applied lion meat to both and bred to my new king! Unfortunately no souls although I didn’t really expect it in the first couple of cubs lol, but… I did get my first ever amp I bred myself! Funny how it’s taken this long haha. Bonus points, the cub was an ebony. I can breed her to g1 ivory based kings to help with getting soul lions once she’s grown up. Wonder what she will be? Unlikely, but I’m hoping for a du lol.
