Jesse had just finished another small mission alone when he walked into the small town to upgrade his sword and armor, but he then realized that he still didn't have enough credits to buy what he needed so he could take on bigger monsters,"crap, gotta go back out again and get more credits," he mumbled under his breath.

I noticed someone looking at one of the stores. I guessed that he likely had been one of the players that were of a much higher level then I was, I knew I only had a few credits just to get some food for the next few days if anything. I got up and came over to see if there was anything I could do to help him out a bit.

"Well I could use some help on this next job if you want to rank up higher and earn 1,000 credits, it shouldn't take us more than a half an hour or so. But if we encounter any monsters it could take longer, my name is Jesse what's yours," he asked as he grabbed his sword and looked at the other guy. He looked like he could use a better sword, so he bought a little bit of a better one for the other guy and handed it to him.

I blushed slightly at that moment "My name's Kyon" I told him. I was a little surprised when given a sword that was better then the one I had at the moment "You didn't need to give me this" I said to him shyly. I wondered for a moment how good this guy was and if we would get though the next dungeon so that we could get to the next level since I had heard there were a few good towns a few levels up.

"It's no problem at all, besides if you want to rank up you'll need a better sword than the one you have now, if you're ready we better get going before it get's dark. Who knows what kind of strong monsters will come out at night," replied Jesse as he started walking to the nearest shop to pick up what he was supposed to deliever. Somebody wanted some food from the market but lived too far out of town.

I smiled and followed after him, I could tell that he was a few years older then me which I guess wasn't too bad especially if he knew his way around the place. I decided for now it was going to be best that I stayed close to him and learn all that I could since I knew by myself I wasn't going to survive that long but I was hoping I would be able to stick with him.

Jesse grabbed what they needed from the nearby food merchant and headed out of town,"be ready for anything you don't know what could be hiding in places we can't see," he said as he kept walking until they reached a little house outside of town. Jesse received the 2,000 credits he was promised and gave 1,000 credits to Kyon.

I smiled at him noticing that it was slowly starting to get dark "You should take the most" I said knowing that I hadn't done much with this so I guess I didn't think I deserved half. I gave him back 500 credits out of the 1,000 that he'd given me so that he could get a lot more things plus I guess I felt it as payback fro the sword that he had given me. I wondered if he'd let me stay with him or if we'd go separate ways.

"You can stay with me if you want to, I have a small cabin it's not much but to me at least it's home, in the morning we'll go into town and you can buy yourself new armor. 500 credits should be enough to get better chest armor," smiled Jesse as he led Kyon to his small cabin, they got inside just as it got dark.

I wasn't sure if I should stay with him since I felt like I was intruding on him. I sighed to myself deciding I'd do a little training tonight so that I could try and become stronger since I knew that I needed to get to a higher level if I was to be able to get stronger. "I'm going to go for a small walk" I said to him.

"Alright but be on your guard at all times it could be dangerous out there, in the meantime I'll get a fire going and make us some dinner I'm starving. It should be ready by the time you get back, here wear my armor. It should protect you while you're out for your walk," smiled Jesse as he handed Kyon his armor to wear.

I shook my head at that moment "I'll be fine, I'm not going that far" I said not taking his armor mostly because I wasn't wanting to ruin his armor "I'll be back soon" I said to him before heading out to go look around. I went hoped that everything would be ok, I was sure there wasn't large level creatures around here.

"Alright but if anything happens to you I'll never forgive myself for not going with you," replied Jesse as he watched Kyon walk out the door, he just hoped that there was no monsters out there waiting to kill Kyon. But suddenly was starting to get a very bad feeling after an hour had passed and Kyon wasn't back yet.

I had ended up attacked by another player and had managed to hide myself away, I knew even though it wasn't real life but it did hurt quite a bit, I knew my health was low. I was breathing heavily and was unsure of where Jesse's place was. I was bleeding from where I'd been hit.

Jesse put on his armor and grabbed his sword and went to look for Kyon,"where are you Kyon answer me," he screamed as he serched for Kyon. He suddenly saw Kyon laying on the ground and he was bleeding badly, Jesse carefully picked up Kyon's limp body and carried him back to his cabin to treat his wound.
