NightStar

NightStar yawned, waking from a long nap. She stretched, then lay by SoftKit and WolfKit. WolfKit slept, snoring, like always. SoftKit slept peacefully, with the exception of her ear flicking. She wondered again who Wolfkits true parents were, and why he was abandoned. Oh well, she sighed. "We may never know...." She murmured softly as WolfKit let out another grizzly snore.

Rippleheart lead Rosepetal to one of the best places to hunt squirrels that he knew of. "Okay, lets see what we can find..." Rippleheart lifted his head and sniffed the air. The breeze was tinted mostly with the scent of the river, but a familiar scent of squirrel touched his nose. He began to sneak in the direction of the scent and quickly spotted the creature nibbling on a beech nut at the base of a willow tree. He began to sneak forward with extra care as to not let it hear or scent him. Suddenly there was a crack and he realized that as he had been overthinking the situation, he had stepped on a twig. He sprung forward, but too late! The squirrel was already up the tree making a weird squeaking noise. "Fish guts! I was so close!" He cursed silently to himself." I knew that I was never cut out for catching land prey. . ."

Rosepetal climbed one of the trees easily, using her claws and shorter legs.
She crouched in the leaves watching a squirrel on another tree.
When it stopped to eat an acorn, she jumped across the branches, grabbing its scruff and landing slightly awkward killing it.
"My mother taught me that" She meowed to Rippleheart.

"Dang! I wish I could hunt like that! You are really good at hunting in trees." Rippleheart mewed to the she-cat. He was amazed and in awe of the cats ability. He knew that she was really gifted, and he admired that about her. "Well now that you have your squirrel do you want to head back to camp, or do you want to stay out here for a little while longer, and i don't know. . ." Rippleheart smiled at the she cat, "Fish for once?"

"I'd become a fish with how I hunt, but lets fish" She laughed hiding her kill while she padded to the river. She swayed her tail gently getting to the river.
She sat at the edge making sure her shadow was not visible.

Rippleheart followed Rosepetal, and slowly went a little more downstream from her, making sure that his shadow did not fall upon the slowly moving waters. He slowly reached a paw into the chilly waters and waited there patiently for any fish to swim into his paws.

Rosepetal slowly dipped herself in, going under the water, a trout swimming over her.
It was small, but that was good.
She pushed it out with her hind legs, lunging after it she hooked it on her claws.
She landed on the shore, catching it with her mouth clumsily.
She set the fish down, shaking her fur.
"I love doing that!" She meowed.

"SSSSSSHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!" Rippleheart mowed playfully at the she cat. "Your gonna scare away all of the fish!" He got himself out of his position, forgetting fishing and launched himself into the icy waters. "This is what you get for ruining my hunt!" He took his front paws and sloshed some water into her face. "Ha take that!" Rippleheart laughed and dove under water, hoping to get away from any retaliation that Rosepetal was planning.

Rosepetal dropped her fish on Rippletail.
"I was already wet!" She meowed at the tom, her ginger tail soaked.
She sat down grooming her wet fur to dry it faster, having long fur didn't help either.
Rosepetal hurried to get her squirrel before getting her fish again.

"Aw your no fun" Rippleheart laughed as the she cat left to get her kill form earlier. He too lifted himself out of the river and began to lick the river from his thick gray pelt. At least he had thick fur. He could not imagine how Windclan cats survived out on the Moors with their thin coats and thin bodies. He then began to think about Cheetahpaw, the little apprentice from Windclan that he had met at the gathering. He still could not place where he had seen the spotted cat before, but the thought quickly rushed from his mind. Rosepetal had returned with her kill. "Ready to go back to camp?" He asked as he picked up her trout from earlier.
((I gtg to bed, but I will be on early tomorrow morning and tomorrow afternoon. LOL this is so much fun XD))

"Yep" She meowed starting to pad back to camp.
"The kits might be awake" She sighed the squirrel muffling her words.
She trotted back with big strides to go faster.

Rippleheart jumped through the opening of the camp and threw the trout onto the fresh kill pile. It seemed like his entire day consisted of hunting! He padded over to the warriors den and flopped in a sunny spot. The warmth soaked his fur and he felt himself dozing slightly. He heard a noise come from the nusery and saw Nightstar emerge from the shadows. He heaved himself into a sitting position and began to groom his tail. "Greetings Nightstar." He mewed in between licks. He looked into the leaders troubled eyes. "What's the matter?" He mewed in respect.

Rosepetal was greeted by her kits, they bounded towards her, starting to jump on her already!
She sighed laying down and let them play on her.
She dozed off while her kits snuggled next to her, falling asleep with their mother.

Nightstar did not seem to hear him. He shrugged and watched as Rosepetal began playing with her kits. The kits had grown so much since they were born. He remembered seeing the little creatures for the first time, after the gathering a little over a moon ago. They now greeted their mother fondly, their little tails whisking around wildly. Rippleheart smiled. He remembered when he and his sisters played together like that and how he always missed his mother when she went out hunting. A pang of longing and sadness hit his heart as the happy memories flashed through his mind. He quickly snapped out of the fit realizing that he was staring at Rosepetal. He blushed and laid back down in the sunshine. He decided that he would treat those kits like a father figure as much as he could. He knew that the kits real father was not around, nor did he even acknowledge them as his own. He scowled at the thought and vowed that if he ever had a mate, he would never be so cruel.

Rosepetal woke, flicking her tail gently.
She groomed her kits, curling around them, her fluffy ginger tail as a barrier from them for leaving.
Her calico, Dark grey, Dark ginger, and white fur looked hot because of the sun, After all Rosepetal had really long fur, which wasn't good in new-leaf.
Thornkit woke and crawled onto his mothers back, burying himself in her fur.
They did have their mothers fur, Well all of them besides Lilykit.
She had sleek fur, which fit her calico Dark brown and light brown fur perfectly.
