Owlsong nodded at Lightningpaws comment. "Good thinking. Can't forget that in these times, it'd be easy for another clan to try and steal what little prey we have." Eyes narrowed in the Windclan, then the Thunderclan direction. The white warrior didn't trust either of those cats to keep their paws in their own territory. So, she trotted closer to the Thunderpath, ears flattening as a monster sped by. It always surprised her how fast they moved. Her gaze twitched to the edge of the path, where she could see carrion on the side, some poor creature that had misjudged the dangerous pathways. The gnawing in her stomach almost made her want to go and see if it was worth salvaging, but if Shadowclan was taught one thing, it was that carrion was often a poor choice in prey. Living next to the carrion place left that impression.
Owlsong hadn't realized she had paused while thinking, but the call of a crow startled her back into reality.
"Right." Her gaze flickered to where the bird sat, perched safely in the foliage of a tree, its call enough to make sure all other prey would be on high alert. So, she busied herself with marking, mind on carrion and prey and what could be done for the clan.

Owlsong exhaled sharply from her nose, her own gaze following the apprentices own as she finished marking the boarder. These apprentices had never tried to take down a crow before. It was a difficult task, even for a well-fed, seasoned warrior. That, and the fact that the prey would be sitting on the Thunderpath was even more of a challenge. However, desperate times called for risks.
"Hmm, no harm in seeing." She trotted towards a pile of brush, that would hide them and hopefully their scent from the crow. While it may know they were there, its own hunger would drawn it down in time, so she hoped.
"Although I'd prefer you two let me attempt this. I'm not sure how I feel about you leaping onto the Thunderpath. " While she spoke to them, her gaze was outwards, watching as another two-leg monster roared past. Somehow, this seemed like a bad idea.
((Also- they can totally go for it if they want. Owlsong will probably hesitate.))

Crouching lower, Owlsong regarded the two cats. the hopeful and determined mews revitalizing her some. With a nod, she agreed. It was a risky bit of hunting, but it was for the good of the clan. Owlsong looked at each apprentice with a serious narrow of her eyes.
"We can try it. Don't go too far down. Don't take any unnecessary risks." It was a bit of a hypocritical sentence, since Owlsong's own choice to leap on the Thunderpath was the definition of risky. However she would take a two-leg monster for a member of her clan any day. Tail twitching to send them off, she began to work her way slightly closer to the carrion, knowing a shorter pounce would make all the difference. Her unblinking gaze turned up to watch the crow as it twitched it's feathers, shifting on the bare branches. It must have been hungry too. As the large bird soared lower to another, closer tree, Owlsong turned her attention briefly to see how the apprentices were faring.
