 This thread is part of the Ilanga’s Adoptions clan, although anyone can adopt cubs here. Please check it out, we’d love to have some new members! You are still welcome to request cubs, but keep an eye out for future changes! Welcome! This is one of Lioden’s longest-existing cub adoption threads, created in October 2018. It has since expanded into multiple shelters and a clan. It’s named after the owner’s first broodmother, Ilanga. All of the cubs here are free for the taking, as long as they are marked as “Adoptable”. All you have to do is write a quick roleplay, even if it’s just a couple sentences long. Once you’ve read the rules, you can speak to one of the broodmothers at the adoption center and let them know which cub(s) you would like! Rules -Please DO NOT kill/tree/sell a cub you get from us! They are looking for permanent homes. -You can adopt as many cubs as you like! Just make sure that you can actually care for all of them. -To make things easier for us, please specify the name of the shelter or broodmother you are adopting from in your roleplay. -You don’t need to include a link to the cub, just their name. -We generally have a first-come, first-serve policy, but if someone puts more effort into their roleplay or message, we might choose them instead. -Please do not argue with the decision of a shelter owner. However, if you have a problem (such as a cub not arriving, or receiving the wrong cub), don’t be afraid to reach out to us! -If you break the rules, we may prevent you from adopting a cub here in the future. -We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. Born during the poaching season, Vikela lost many of her family and friends to vicious attacks when she was just a cub. She witnessed firsthand the deaths of countless cubs, and made it her mission to protect as many as she could in the future. She trained as a warrior alongside the pride’s other guards before becoming a broodmother, and as a result, she can seem quite tough and intimidating at first sight, especially to outsiders, who she distrusts. However, despite being a bit overprotective at times, she is popular among her pride and a hero to the cubs she raises. Once you’ve gained her trust, she will be loyal until her last breath.
Despite being an elderly lioness, blind in one eye and beginning to lose her hearing, Khatiba is as sharp as ever. She may not be as fast as she used to be, but she keeps a watchful eye on the playing cubs from her resting spot. When they grow tired of running and wrestling, they gather around her to hear one of her stories. She loves to tell the cubs about legends passed down through the generations, of vicious battles and ancient gods. She is gentle and kind, balancing out Vikela’s fiery energy. You may have met her daughter Kuhle at the clan’s stockpile.
Amina is a very trustworthy lioness. She would die before she saw any of the cubs she protected be harmed. Her goal in life is to find a good home for each and every cub she can. She is confident, kind, and most important to her, gentle. If any cub gets hurt in her presence she will be sure to rush to it and care for it to the best of her ability. Though she may get suspicious of some lions, she does her best to trust every lion and lioness she comes across.

Most hung heavy over the air as the lioness sprinted through the lands. 'I shouldn't be here...' The lioness thought as she ran. She shook off the feeling of regret, but it still hung heavy over her. "Ambala!" Talon purred. She glanced around towards the cub she came for. "I'm here for Mia, could I have her?" She asked softly. She remembered how she was changed. She still had her mane from when she was ma!e... She still remembered being here like it was yesterday, defeating other male adolescents in tussles... But that was the past. This was the present. It took a moment, but Amabala soon recognized the visitor in front of her. “Talon! It’s good to see you again,” she said. It had been a long time since she had seen her, but even though Talon was now female Amabala could recognize her scent anywhere. She had helped raise her from a cub, after all. “Of course you can take Mia. I trust any lion that grew up here to raise a cub well,” the broodmother said, giving both Talon and Mia a quick nuzzle before they left. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Wrenspeak paced into the cave, his dark mane rustling and blue eyes glinting with humor as he took in the tussling cubs. Stepping around several especially rambunctious little ones, he approached a beautifully marked lioness with a flower crown. She appeared to be bouncing in and out of the fray, little petals fluttering in her wake, and he couldn't quite tell if she was breaking up playfights or instigating them. He coughed gently, but apparently it wasn't quite loud enough -- there she went again. This time he spoke, and made sure to pitch his voice a little louder. "Excuse me, Maka -- hello! I heard you have some cubs and adolescents for adoption. I am looking to add a few more lionesses to my pride, and young Magma seems like a perfect fit. My heir will soon take over, but he is a good and chivalrous son. Magma will be in good paws. May we accept her into our pride?" 0 players like this post! A new king carefully padded to the area, they're reddish and spotted pelt glimmering in the light. "You two" she called to Frosty and Raven, her soft white gaze pure and calm. "Please, tell me your names." She purred. The two told the lion their name and without hesitation, the queen brought her head up. "You must be Indlovu, Talon told me about you" she purred her tail tip twitching. Calmly, they mewed "I have bad news. Harpy Wings has passed and Talon has started to feel lonely, so I asked them to direct me here." She murmured. She carefully scooped Raven closer. Beron padded up to the cave entrance. The giant primal lion, with his flame-like fur, was an intimidating sight, but he had visited often enough that all the broodmothers knew him well. Glancing around, he quickly found several cubs that interested him. Two were adolescents, laying together in the shade with coats so similar he wondered if they were related. The third was a younger cub, with gray and orange fur, who appeared nervous. Her scent didn’t quite match that of the other cubs, so Beron assumed that she had arrived at the shelter fairly recently. Turning around, he spotted Amabala approaching. The broodmother was much older than the last time he’d seen her, but she still appeared healthy. “I’d like to adopt those three,” he said, gesturing to Spots, Dots, and Rhea. “If you don’t mind, that is,” he added, his voice a low growl. 0 players like this post! Amabala considered the visiting king for a moment. She had seen countless cubs being dropped off at the shelter with scars and bruises, looking for an escape from his pride. However, he had adopted many lions from here in the past, and each one returned eventually looking healthy and fit. He was a cruel king, but the cubs he decided were worthy would be treated well. “You’re welcome to take them,” she said, herding the three over to him. “They’ll do well in your pride, I’m sure.” (Rhea’s on a cooldown though, I’ll send her later) 0 players like this post! Kubadili approached the den with soft steps, he glanced back to see his queen following with a smile on her muzzle. "Kawaida, see any you would like?" He asked, nuzzling her cheek. She stopped infront of the black lioness with gorgeous markings. "I take it you're Makaa?" The scarred golden lioness asked, lowering her head to look at the little black and gold cub, playing at Makaa's feet. "And this is Bee?" She settled down on the den floor and beckoned the cub towards her with a nod. The king smiled adoringly at his queen as she played with the little lion. "I think Kawaida likes Bee. Walking in slowly, her wings tucked away neatly, Lyra looks around at each of the cubs, finding one in particular that she is surprised was not already taken. She decides to talk with Indlovu about the cub labeled Sunny. "Our pride is on a search for new, clean bloodlines. My king may be too focused on his 'projects' but I know better, and Sunny would be just that." Her Ammit companion snaps his jaws, startling her for a moment. "Ah, yes, um... Setsia was feeling sociable today, tough frankly when was he not. And being a fatherly spirit, he decided to go and try to adopt a new lioness to the Sunhigh Pride. They could always use some more future huntresses or broodmothers, though more than that he was always on the look out for lions who would fit in with his lot, and who could be a part of his little family. He entered the pridelands of another king, always at his side the small rhino Maharagwe. He gave his companion a quick nuzzle, then continued on until he came to a cave, the sound of mewling cubs inside. With a smile the sun beam felis entered the cave, a soft smile on his lips. A dark furred brood mother bounded up to him, full of energy. “Welcome to our adoption cave!” she said, before giving a quick blurb about the rules and goings on of the adoptions here, then she lead Setsia to a few cubs. Immediately his eyes rested on a vitiligo girl, her sunny pelt a stark contrast to the cold expression on her face. She looked pretty stoic, but he noticed her glancing his way with interest. He dropped his smile and padded towards her, sitting down next to her. He looked forward with a serious face to match hers. But his was over exaggerated, comical even. The girl frowned for a moment, but then slowly a smirk crept onto her face, and then a giggle. They laughed together, the king and the girl named Sunny, and then Setsia turned back to the dark lioness Makaa. “Do you think Sunny here could join my pride?” 0 players like this post! Like? |

A young adolescent had strayed from the hunt she was taken on, more interested in a sign that had "Adoptions -->". Her name was Silvie, she was known to play with hyena pups, leopard cubs, any playmate she could find. She was a very energetic little lion. So, she decided she'd find a permanent playmate. She walked in, very pleased with herself. Her tail swayed, and her steps were large and close to a hop. She pranced around, but connected with two cubs. She played with them for a few minutes before asking, "What are your names?" The cubs replied. "Ria." "Salmon." She urged them excitedly to follow her, walking up to a pretty lioness with black fur and unique markings. Makaa. "Hi! Are you a broodmother?" After receiving a yes, she smiled gleefully. "I am here in place of my queen. She'd like to adopt Ria and Salmon." She puffed out her fur, trying to stand like the gorgeous lioness in front of her. 0 players like this post!
