 This thread is part of the Ilanga’s Adoptions clan, although anyone can adopt cubs here. Please check it out, we’d love to have some new members! You are still welcome to request cubs, but keep an eye out for future changes! Welcome! This is one of Lioden’s longest-existing cub adoption threads, created in October 2018. It has since expanded into multiple shelters and a clan. It’s named after the owner’s first broodmother, Ilanga. All of the cubs here are free for the taking, as long as they are marked as “Adoptable”. All you have to do is write a quick roleplay, even if it’s just a couple sentences long. Once you’ve read the rules, you can speak to one of the broodmothers at the adoption center and let them know which cub(s) you would like! Rules -Please DO NOT kill/tree/sell a cub you get from us! They are looking for permanent homes. -You can adopt as many cubs as you like! Just make sure that you can actually care for all of them. -To make things easier for us, please specify the name of the shelter or broodmother you are adopting from in your roleplay. -You don’t need to include a link to the cub, just their name. -We generally have a first-come, first-serve policy, but if someone puts more effort into their roleplay or message, we might choose them instead. -Please do not argue with the decision of a shelter owner. However, if you have a problem (such as a cub not arriving, or receiving the wrong cub), don’t be afraid to reach out to us! -If you break the rules, we may prevent you from adopting a cub here in the future. -We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. Born during the poaching season, Vikela lost many of her family and friends to vicious attacks when she was just a cub. She witnessed firsthand the deaths of countless cubs, and made it her mission to protect as many as she could in the future. She trained as a warrior alongside the pride’s other guards before becoming a broodmother, and as a result, she can seem quite tough and intimidating at first sight, especially to outsiders, who she distrusts. However, despite being a bit overprotective at times, she is popular among her pride and a hero to the cubs she raises. Once you’ve gained her trust, she will be loyal until her last breath.
Despite being an elderly lioness, blind in one eye and beginning to lose her hearing, Khatiba is as sharp as ever. She may not be as fast as she used to be, but she keeps a watchful eye on the playing cubs from her resting spot. When they grow tired of running and wrestling, they gather around her to hear one of her stories. She loves to tell the cubs about legends passed down through the generations, of vicious battles and ancient gods. She is gentle and kind, balancing out Vikela’s fiery energy. You may have met her daughter Kuhle at the clan’s stockpile.
Amina is a very trustworthy lioness. She would die before she saw any of the cubs she protected be harmed. Her goal in life is to find a good home for each and every cub she can. She is confident, kind, and most important to her, gentle. If any cub gets hurt in her presence she will be sure to rush to it and care for it to the best of her ability. Though she may get suspicious of some lions, she does her best to trust every lion and lioness she comes across.

Dawn rippled like water against the lands, cubs playing left and right with tumbling fun. Harpy Wings had traveled far across the harsh mountains and sands of fire to get to the place where a cub rested. Tsunami was laying in a cubs nest, there eyes closed delicately. A large gorgeous ferus king walked in with a gorgeous female, "My Queen, Fable. Please, tell me who you'd like to join us." Lucifer said, the female looks around before she points to a gorgeous cub (Robin). Fable smiled to the small cub. Lucifer left his queen and walked over to a brood mother, "Hello! Running along during the lionesses hunts, Pala-Al Din gets sidetracked easily following some ever-so-slight whiff of a new scent. The sunset lights up her path until the gold outweighs the horizon and she pounces along with her nose instead of her eyes. Before she knows where her feet are going, her toes tap suddenly, and rudely almost, into the rear of a heavily pregnant lioness lying in her hidden nest among the grass. "OH! Hey, s-s-sorry about that! I didnt mean to stumble into you!" As the lioness struggles to rise under her belly's rotund shape, Pala-Al Din spies a little head peering through the browned tufts of the savannah. In her excitement, Pala-Al Din gasps breathlessly as the sight of the lightning blue cub staring at her. "Oh WOW!" Remembering she must be polite in front of her elders, she straightens her stature and settles down a bit. As she begins to introduce herself to the mother, and again attempt a more heartfelt apology, the sun dips lower creating a purple sky. The tiny eyes peering at her transform into a whole cub as the baby walks out from the grass. Pala-Al Din cannot stop staring as she finishes her apology and introduction. Finally, out of her burning curiosity, she says, "Our Pride has never seen lions the color of ice before! That baby nearly glows in the dim light like the nighttime glow-ball. I'm terribly afraid I have been gone too long from my pride hunt and will be in serious trouble when I return. By any chance is that cub an orphan or up for adoption? I only ask because my King would love the beautiful color of a cub he could call his child. He would love that baby as his own. Is there any chance I could take her to my King? It would help me as well to bring him a gift no other lioness could! May I?" After her rambling speech and question, Pala-Al Din sat with her mouth shut (finally) and awaited the lioness's reply. 0 players like this post! Elated, the young lioness jumped around in a circle. "Thank you, thank you, Makaa!" Again composing herself, she peered at the little one and mimicking the gentle gruff she had picked up from the brood mothers, called to Arctic. "Come Arctic! I have so much to show you at your new home! You're going to love it there!" As Arctic stepped forward cautiously, Pala-Al Din turned towards home, looking back towards Makaa gratefully. A silvery-blue lioness with a ring of purple flowers hanging from her neck padded up to the entrance to the cave, trailed by four cubs. Peeking her head inside, she glanced around and spotted Cula resting in the shade. She walked over to the broodmother and sat down, bowing her head in respect. “Hello, Cula. It’s been many seasons since I was last here,” she said, taking in every detail of the familiar den where she had once lived. “I’ve returned with an offering of cubs. They’ve only just been weaned, and Lord Beron has decided that they aren’t valuable enough to remain alive.” Taking a deep breath, she continued, “Can you protect them, find them homes? Cula cocked her head, taking a good look at the visitor. Her scent was tainted with the smell of blood and burnt things, a combination common to lions in Beron’s pride. However, this lioness seemed especially familiar... “Silk?!” she exclaimed, her eyes lighting up once she recognized the lioness she had helped to raise. “Oh, I haven’t seen you in ages! How have you been? I’ll admit I was worried when the others told me stories of the king who adopted you, but you seem fine...” she trailed off as the rest of the visitor’s words registered. “He’s going to kill these little ones? I mean, I’m not surprised considering the other things he’s done, but innocent cubs? Really?” She began muttering to herself about the stupid things cruel kings would do spread fear. Stopping herself, she apologized for her little rant. “Sorry about that, I suppose I picked up a few bad habits from Vikela when she was still around. Anyway, of course we can take the cubs. She’s like a big sister to me.” Giving her former guardian a quick lick on the cheek, she said “I must leave now, before my king gets suspicious.
