 This thread is part of the Ilanga’s Adoptions clan, although anyone can adopt cubs here. Please check it out, we’d love to have some new members! You are still welcome to request cubs, but keep an eye out for future changes! Welcome! This is one of Lioden’s longest-existing cub adoption threads, created in October 2018. It has since expanded into multiple shelters and a clan. It’s named after the owner’s first broodmother, Ilanga. All of the cubs here are free for the taking, as long as they are marked as “Adoptable”. All you have to do is write a quick roleplay, even if it’s just a couple sentences long. Once you’ve read the rules, you can speak to one of the broodmothers at the adoption center and let them know which cub(s) you would like! Rules -Please DO NOT kill/tree/sell a cub you get from us! They are looking for permanent homes. -You can adopt as many cubs as you like! Just make sure that you can actually care for all of them. -To make things easier for us, please specify the name of the shelter or broodmother you are adopting from in your roleplay. -You don’t need to include a link to the cub, just their name. -We generally have a first-come, first-serve policy, but if someone puts more effort into their roleplay or message, we might choose them instead. -Please do not argue with the decision of a shelter owner. However, if you have a problem (such as a cub not arriving, or receiving the wrong cub), don’t be afraid to reach out to us! -If you break the rules, we may prevent you from adopting a cub here in the future. -We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. Born during the poaching season, Vikela lost many of her family and friends to vicious attacks when she was just a cub. She witnessed firsthand the deaths of countless cubs, and made it her mission to protect as many as she could in the future. She trained as a warrior alongside the pride’s other guards before becoming a broodmother, and as a result, she can seem quite tough and intimidating at first sight, especially to outsiders, who she distrusts. However, despite being a bit overprotective at times, she is popular among her pride and a hero to the cubs she raises. Once you’ve gained her trust, she will be loyal until her last breath.
Despite being an elderly lioness, blind in one eye and beginning to lose her hearing, Khatiba is as sharp as ever. She may not be as fast as she used to be, but she keeps a watchful eye on the playing cubs from her resting spot. When they grow tired of running and wrestling, they gather around her to hear one of her stories. She loves to tell the cubs about legends passed down through the generations, of vicious battles and ancient gods. She is gentle and kind, balancing out Vikela’s fiery energy. You may have met her daughter Kuhle at the clan’s stockpile.
Amina is a very trustworthy lioness. She would die before she saw any of the cubs she protected be harmed. Her goal in life is to find a good home for each and every cub she can. She is confident, kind, and most important to her, gentle. If any cub gets hurt in her presence she will be sure to rush to it and care for it to the best of her ability. Though she may get suspicious of some lions, she does her best to trust every lion and lioness she comes across.

Heathetail entered the area, Senile Heart following his favorite lioness Swift Wind. She walked along side the male, rubbing her head along his jawline every now and then. He knew she loved taking care of cubs. It would be some time before her heat came along and she could have biological children. He dipped his head, ducking his chin to his neck, to look in her eyes. "Swift? I'll be waiting for you here. You should choose the cub if you want to take care of it." The lioness nodded, and faced Senile. "Dear, wait with Heathetail. I'll be back." The ten month old female nodded, and sat between the dusty colored male, keeping her eyes on the lioness as she approached Cula. "Hello. I have come to adopt a cub. Is Diablo able to come with me? I promise to take care of him." She kept her voice light and soft, trying to seem calm. However, on the inside, she was bursting with excitement. This would be the first male cub to enter their pride, and she was choosing them. She decided not to think of Patched Luck and her cub hunting. Why had Heathetail taken in one of her cubs? Citadel watched the newcomer arrive - rather than bother the aging broodmothers, he allowed himself to stand before the Prince. The strange 'cattle' beside him slowly stood up as Citadel did, a strange bandanna over their eyes that blocked their vision. Not that they seemed to mind, of course. Citadel's teeth forcefully gnashed together as he spoke, impressive stature barely rippling. "...I believe Streak is still around, yes-" His voice grumbled softly as he spoke, although as deep and rumble-y as it was, it wouldn't be too surprising if he was a bit louder than most, "...I can send her on her way now, if you'd like." @Skyfall ^^! 0 players like this post! Thick tail hitting the ground, a strange energy came from the...ah, male sitting closest by. A hood covered majority of their face, a strange almost light-like substance coming from their jowls and presumably where eyes are. However, unlike light it was cold. Freezing, actually. They slowly began to make their way closer, Chalk following nervously beside them. Despite the rather intimidating presence of her, perhaps, keeper, Chalk seemed rather fine. Albeit, anxious and antsy - but weren't all cubs? Though a few small bite marks were on her tail, that seemed to be all 'injury' on her...for the most part. "...But of course." Ducking into the den, Sembali peered around. It wasn’t often he explored an adoption cave such as this one. His eyes locked on a beautiful adolescent. Padding over with quick conversation, he learned her name was Rain. A fitting name for her. With an assuring smile, he turned to find a brood mother. The first lioness he came across was Hajiam. “Hello! My name is Sembali. I’m interested in adopting Rain. A precious jewel, she is.” he smiled warmly with one more glance over at the adolescent female who was watching with what seemed sparkling eyes. “I have several lionesses, adolescents, and cubs in which I believe she would get along very well with.” 0 players like this post! Hajiam looked over at him with a calm, peaceful smile. Her legs were somewhat shaky, but otherwise she was not at all upset with grabbing the near cub from her play session. Quiet, she walked right up to them with a happy, small 'purr'-like sound coming from her throat. "Of course you may!" Albeit excited, there was very little volume to her voice as she dropped them on Sembali's paws. In a heartbeat, the cub sprung up. Excitement in their large eyes, they eagerly sniffed every inch of the lion they could, and then immediately tried to crawl on his back as they left. Precious, really. 0 players like this post! Slowly an older Ferus and his queen padded into the Saitaku, The ferus walked around while his queen carefully inspected each cub, before she found 2 she liked, she quickly padded over to Hajiam. "Hello." She said with authority in her voice, though she was still kind and calm. "I would like to adopt Ice and Snow please." Fable said, she glanced to her King, Lucifer. Hajiam was not shaken by her authoritative stance nor her tone of voice. She'd faced worse, much, much worse. Her elderly eyes gleamed softly as she nodded, a small chirp-like sound coming from her as she called the two cubs up. A perfect duo, really, both of them nearly falling over their own tiny feet as the skirted in front of the lioness. Ready to go whenever she was, apparently.
