 This thread is part of the Ilanga’s Adoptions clan, although anyone can adopt cubs here. Please check it out, we’d love to have some new members! You are still welcome to request cubs, but keep an eye out for future changes! Welcome! This is one of Lioden’s longest-existing cub adoption threads, created in October 2018. It has since expanded into multiple shelters and a clan. It’s named after the owner’s first broodmother, Ilanga. All of the cubs here are free for the taking, as long as they are marked as “Adoptable”. All you have to do is write a quick roleplay, even if it’s just a couple sentences long. Once you’ve read the rules, you can speak to one of the broodmothers at the adoption center and let them know which cub(s) you would like! Rules -Please DO NOT kill/tree/sell a cub you get from us! They are looking for permanent homes. -You can adopt as many cubs as you like! Just make sure that you can actually care for all of them. -To make things easier for us, please specify the name of the shelter or broodmother you are adopting from in your roleplay. -You don’t need to include a link to the cub, just their name. -We generally have a first-come, first-serve policy, but if someone puts more effort into their roleplay or message, we might choose them instead. -Please do not argue with the decision of a shelter owner. However, if you have a problem (such as a cub not arriving, or receiving the wrong cub), don’t be afraid to reach out to us! -If you break the rules, we may prevent you from adopting a cub here in the future. -We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. Born during the poaching season, Vikela lost many of her family and friends to vicious attacks when she was just a cub. She witnessed firsthand the deaths of countless cubs, and made it her mission to protect as many as she could in the future. She trained as a warrior alongside the pride’s other guards before becoming a broodmother, and as a result, she can seem quite tough and intimidating at first sight, especially to outsiders, who she distrusts. However, despite being a bit overprotective at times, she is popular among her pride and a hero to the cubs she raises. Once you’ve gained her trust, she will be loyal until her last breath.
Despite being an elderly lioness, blind in one eye and beginning to lose her hearing, Khatiba is as sharp as ever. She may not be as fast as she used to be, but she keeps a watchful eye on the playing cubs from her resting spot. When they grow tired of running and wrestling, they gather around her to hear one of her stories. She loves to tell the cubs about legends passed down through the generations, of vicious battles and ancient gods. She is gentle and kind, balancing out Vikela’s fiery energy. You may have met her daughter Kuhle at the clan’s stockpile.
Amina is a very trustworthy lioness. She would die before she saw any of the cubs she protected be harmed. Her goal in life is to find a good home for each and every cub she can. She is confident, kind, and most important to her, gentle. If any cub gets hurt in her presence she will be sure to rush to it and care for it to the best of her ability. Though she may get suspicious of some lions, she does her best to trust every lion and lioness she comes across.

(^^^^) An hour or so later, there is a colorful form in the distance, mayhaps only a few feet away. Draped across her frame are familiar accessories; raven black ink paint around her eyes to intentionally emphasize the color. Baekhyun smoothly trotted towards the den, several cubs happily bounding around her. Though she has aged quite a lot, there is still a remainder of her classic bombshell beauty, and she wasn't even too old. Baekhyun halted just in front of the entrance to let the cubs through first before she took a deep breath and released a fond sigh for the familiar setting. "Greetings," The queen started formally, directed to every adult present, the undertone implying that she had said this many times now to other adoption centers. "It is with great service that I, Queen Baekhyun of my pride, deliver these cubs. Each of them have their own unique name and..." She swallowed and shook her head. "Oh, who am I kidding?" The queen muttered underneath her breath before shifting her unreadable gaze towards the adult lionesses that are amidst a sea of cubs. "It's been a while." 0 players like this post! Like? |

Cula grinned, bounding across the den to greet the visiting queen. “Baekhyun! It’s been far too long since I’ve seen you,” she said with a purr. “I’ve missed your visits, especially your strange rivalry with Amabala and Vikela.” At that, her excitement dimmed. “Amabala passed away just recently. She and Vikela are both sorely missed here.” The other three broodmothers gathered around, and Cula perked back up, ready to introduce them all. “I believe Indlovu was just a cub last time you were here,” she said. “And Makaa and Machwa are somewhat newer to the pride.” The three lionesses nodded a polite greeting. Baekhyun perked up at her words, a distinct gleam in her eyes as though she had gotten pleasure from the statements spoken alone. "Of course," She nudged back and carefully thought over Amabala's death. Though she already found peace in Vikela before she had left to walk the stars, she hadn't with Amabala. At that, she uttered softly a silent prayer with a rueful tone before returning to her stoic, blank nature. She gave the newer broodmothers each a nod of affirmation and acknowledgement, a silent urge to keep running the adoption center. "Feel free to talk to me if you need more supplies," She murmured in a gentle voice, contrary to her infamous flat one. "However, I think I'll be a bit too busy to always visit the adoption center. I hope Yixing's not too much of a fool when he stumbles in here," She scoffs at the mention of her heir, but it was clear that she held respect to him and that's why she raised him to become the felis he is now. Anubis padded over to Makaa. “Hello dear.” He purred as he walked by her, flicking her chin with his tail. “I’ve come to pay a visit to the cubs.” He walked over to them, and sat down, examining them. His amethyst eyes flickered between Ember and Devil. “I’m quite torn between those two.” He gestured at Ember and Devil. “They’re both beautiful cubs, congrats to the parents who brought them into the world.” He narrowed his eyebrows, and licked his jaws. “Is it possible that I could adopt them both? I’ll assign one of my lionesses to be their broodsmother. And yes I’m without a mate, I can’t bother myself with one so close to the end of my life.” He sighed. “I just need to give some cubs a home as some of my last good deeds.” Anubis strutted up to Makaa, after smiling at Ember and Devil. “May I take those two?” He asked again, smiling charismatically. 0 players like this post! Vox seemingly manifested in the outskirts of a cave entrance where their his heir had told him to visit. Apparently, this cave had been giving away cubs in need and the heir visited it a couple of days ago, only that he needed to leave urgently before he gets more sidetracked. And now Vox was here, sent to pick up whoever caught Lucifer's eyes. Something, something pink named Petunia, a "Raven" and a Violet, Vox recalled as he sauntered his way over. He realised he didn't even know if he'd be allowed to take more than one! He supposed he can ask that question. And if the answer was no, then... With a pause, Vox bristled. Lucifer might have just put him in a dilemma, forced Vox to decide. Shaking the frustration off, he sighed and continued the last few meters to the cave, the light dancing off his divine mane. When he arrived, he looked around, looking for any lionesses to speak with. He found one near the entrance; a clawless lioness with mottled stripes running down her antler pelt. Gathering up whatever politeness he could muster, Vox approached. "Excuse me? Is this Ilanga's cave?" He asked once near enough for him to audible and not shouting. 0 players like this post! Like? |

"Ah." Vox said in mild surprised as the cubs then approached him and he blinked down at them. Nerves overcoming him, he flustered and turned back to the lioness. "Thank you! Our Circle will be sure to take care of them well." The submale said before giving the lioness a polite bow. Qylrentog barged into the cave, cleaning his jaws of blood. “Hello, broodmothers.” He said huskily. “My former king, Anubis, adopted two cubs from here, Ember and Devil. I’m pleased to report that I have been taking splendid care of them, and am now looking to add more to my pride, if that’s all dandy with you.” The king sat down, and drew his tongue over his paw, and then stretched, scratching his long claws across the rocky floor.
