 This thread is part of the Ilanga’s Adoptions clan, although anyone can adopt cubs here. Please check it out, we’d love to have some new members! You are still welcome to request cubs, but keep an eye out for future changes! Welcome! This is one of Lioden’s longest-existing cub adoption threads, created in October 2018. It has since expanded into multiple shelters and a clan. It’s named after the owner’s first broodmother, Ilanga. All of the cubs here are free for the taking, as long as they are marked as “Adoptable”. All you have to do is write a quick roleplay, even if it’s just a couple sentences long. Once you’ve read the rules, you can speak to one of the broodmothers at the adoption center and let them know which cub(s) you would like! Rules -Please DO NOT kill/tree/sell a cub you get from us! They are looking for permanent homes. -You can adopt as many cubs as you like! Just make sure that you can actually care for all of them. -To make things easier for us, please specify the name of the shelter or broodmother you are adopting from in your roleplay. -You don’t need to include a link to the cub, just their name. -We generally have a first-come, first-serve policy, but if someone puts more effort into their roleplay or message, we might choose them instead. -Please do not argue with the decision of a shelter owner. However, if you have a problem (such as a cub not arriving, or receiving the wrong cub), don’t be afraid to reach out to us! -If you break the rules, we may prevent you from adopting a cub here in the future. -We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. Born during the poaching season, Vikela lost many of her family and friends to vicious attacks when she was just a cub. She witnessed firsthand the deaths of countless cubs, and made it her mission to protect as many as she could in the future. She trained as a warrior alongside the pride’s other guards before becoming a broodmother, and as a result, she can seem quite tough and intimidating at first sight, especially to outsiders, who she distrusts. However, despite being a bit overprotective at times, she is popular among her pride and a hero to the cubs she raises. Once you’ve gained her trust, she will be loyal until her last breath.
Despite being an elderly lioness, blind in one eye and beginning to lose her hearing, Khatiba is as sharp as ever. She may not be as fast as she used to be, but she keeps a watchful eye on the playing cubs from her resting spot. When they grow tired of running and wrestling, they gather around her to hear one of her stories. She loves to tell the cubs about legends passed down through the generations, of vicious battles and ancient gods. She is gentle and kind, balancing out Vikela’s fiery energy. You may have met her daughter Kuhle at the clan’s stockpile.
Amina is a very trustworthy lioness. She would die before she saw any of the cubs she protected be harmed. Her goal in life is to find a good home for each and every cub she can. She is confident, kind, and most important to her, gentle. If any cub gets hurt in her presence she will be sure to rush to it and care for it to the best of her ability. Though she may get suspicious of some lions, she does her best to trust every lion and lioness she comes across.

Zeonix entered the den, smiling as he looked around at all the cubs. The king did not notice that when he smiled, his fang seemed bared as if he was ready to pounce. The cubs all looked cautiously at him, slowly backing away. He was confused as to why this was. Suddenly, a larger male cub with long fangs dashed out of the shadows and ran headfirst into Zeonix's chest. He looked up at the male with a toothy grin that matched the king's. "Oh, and who might you be?" Zeonix said, trying to suppress a chuckle. "Me? I'm Fury!" the cub replied. Zeonix glanced up and noticed Kijivu watching them with bright eyes. "Is this one adoptable?" Leaves rustled as Novalo walked down the path to the Mtoaji shelter. While that pride worked closely with his own, he hadn’t spoken much to them directly. As he approached the den, he took a deep breath to calm his anxiety and stepped into the shadows of the cave, his fluffy white fur standing out against the dark stone. “Hello?” he called. His voice was quiet, and got lost among the noise and chaos of the countless cubs running around. Sighing, he padded over to a broodmother. Oxyura, he believed she was called. “Hi,” he said. “My queen send me to pick up a cub, I think her name was Stargirl?” 0 players like this post! Like? |

Oxyura recognized Novalo from their sister shelter and purred, "Of course." She padded over to call over a young adolescent who was playing with some of her peers. Stargirl accompanied the broodmother back to where the king stood, bouncing on her paws, her eyes gleaming. Featherstar walked over, slightly cheerful. A cub was pulling him over, who was ironically Molten Freddy. "What are we doing here again?" The king asked. "To find some new friends of course!" The cub replied. Featherstar mutters something then goes up to the person in charge. "Im here for two adolescents called Amy and Eclipse. Are they still avalible?" He asks, looking a bit more cheerful. Molten Freddy sat next to his adopted father, cheerful. He wondered if he could make any other friends here, but he was too distracted to go exploring. Rhodonessa got up from where she was sitting in the shade, watching several younger cubs. "Of course! I will fetch Eclipse for you. Though you'll have to talk to the broodmothers from Nyumbani about Amy." She dipped her head politely and turned to call over a pretty adolescent. Eclipse ran up to the group, "Hey there!" Ben padded across the savannah on a well-worn trail. He was aware that his pridemates had been on this same journey many times, but this was his first. His days as a cub had been filled with endless training, and as an adult he had been nothing more than a weapon to be wielded by his king. But at last, he was free to do as he pleased. He paused just outside the mouth of the cave, anxious about how the broodmothers would react to his presence. Taking a deep breath, he stepped inside. Two cubs caught his eye immediately, a blue-furred female and the other she was wrestling with. He turned around to find Jioni standing right behind him. “Greetings,” he said, stuttering a bit. “My name is Benjamin Organa-Solo. You likely recognize my scent, since our prides have worked closely together before.” He winced, perhaps that wasn’t the best thing to bring up, considering how rocky their alliance had been towards the end of Rowan’s rule. “I have chosen to lead the pride much differently than my former king, now that I have the choice. I’d like to start by taking in more lions, perhaps those two over there?” He gestured to Pastel and Peach, nervously awaiting Jioni’s response. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Jioni considered this lion for a moment. She had heard of him, yes. A strong and swift killer, unstoppable on the battlefield. The last she’d heard, he went by a different name. He seemed different now though, and his demeanor didn’t match his reputation. “You’re welcome to take them,” she said, making up her mind. “I’m sure you’ll train them well.” (RIP Ben Solo, he was the best character in all of Star Wars and I will always love him lol) 0 players like this post! Gulledge always loved play to come play with the young cubs in the Nyumbani shelter, but never once did he consider taking one into his own pride. But this time when Gulledge came to play a young adol named Ninja caught his eye. “Hi, Ninja! My name is Gulledge and I’m the king of the southern lands, I’m very picky about who comes into my pride, and you’ve grabbed my attention, so I was wondering if you’d like to join me in solitude?” Gulledge asked Ninja whilst looking towards the queen of this pride for her approval as well. 0 players like this post! @FoxFur Oxyura greeted the king with a nod. "I'm sure Sahara would find a lovely home in your pride." She called Sahara over, who was already beaming. Sahara quickly nuzzled the broodmother goodbye and bounded after the king as they departed, already peppering him with questions about her new home. @DoctorPepper Oxyura turned to the patiently waiting lioness sitting by the den. "Good evening." She smiled, purring. "Welcome to our adoptable shelter. Are there any cubs that interest you? I'm sure they would find a wonderful home with your pride." 0 players like this post!
