 This thread is part of the Ilanga’s Adoptions clan, although anyone can adopt cubs here. Please check it out, we’d love to have some new members! You are still welcome to request cubs, but keep an eye out for future changes! Welcome! This is one of Lioden’s longest-existing cub adoption threads, created in October 2018. It has since expanded into multiple shelters and a clan. It’s named after the owner’s first broodmother, Ilanga. All of the cubs here are free for the taking, as long as they are marked as “Adoptable”. All you have to do is write a quick roleplay, even if it’s just a couple sentences long. Once you’ve read the rules, you can speak to one of the broodmothers at the adoption center and let them know which cub(s) you would like! Rules -Please DO NOT kill/tree/sell a cub you get from us! They are looking for permanent homes. -You can adopt as many cubs as you like! Just make sure that you can actually care for all of them. -To make things easier for us, please specify the name of the shelter or broodmother you are adopting from in your roleplay. -You don’t need to include a link to the cub, just their name. -We generally have a first-come, first-serve policy, but if someone puts more effort into their roleplay or message, we might choose them instead. -Please do not argue with the decision of a shelter owner. However, if you have a problem (such as a cub not arriving, or receiving the wrong cub), don’t be afraid to reach out to us! -If you break the rules, we may prevent you from adopting a cub here in the future. -We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. Born during the poaching season, Vikela lost many of her family and friends to vicious attacks when she was just a cub. She witnessed firsthand the deaths of countless cubs, and made it her mission to protect as many as she could in the future. She trained as a warrior alongside the pride’s other guards before becoming a broodmother, and as a result, she can seem quite tough and intimidating at first sight, especially to outsiders, who she distrusts. However, despite being a bit overprotective at times, she is popular among her pride and a hero to the cubs she raises. Once you’ve gained her trust, she will be loyal until her last breath.
Despite being an elderly lioness, blind in one eye and beginning to lose her hearing, Khatiba is as sharp as ever. She may not be as fast as she used to be, but she keeps a watchful eye on the playing cubs from her resting spot. When they grow tired of running and wrestling, they gather around her to hear one of her stories. She loves to tell the cubs about legends passed down through the generations, of vicious battles and ancient gods. She is gentle and kind, balancing out Vikela’s fiery energy. You may have met her daughter Kuhle at the clan’s stockpile.
Amina is a very trustworthy lioness. She would die before she saw any of the cubs she protected be harmed. Her goal in life is to find a good home for each and every cub she can. She is confident, kind, and most important to her, gentle. If any cub gets hurt in her presence she will be sure to rush to it and care for it to the best of her ability. Though she may get suspicious of some lions, she does her best to trust every lion and lioness she comes across.

Firebird smiled encouragingly at the tiny cub, before turning back to Africa. "I don't know how she will get on in our pride, but I have plenty of loving lionesses to support her and I hope she will flourish with them. She will make a wonderful hunter and mother." 0 players like this post! Like? |

A young king happened to be wandering nearby and heard the laughter and chatter of cubs. Slowly and a little shyly, he pads closer, remembering some of the antics he would get up to with his friends. He sits and watches for a little while, fondly reminiscing, when a rather loud and messy adolescent comes bounding up t the others with a bundle of flowers. Her energy and happiness remind him of some of the lionesses at home. After watching for a little while longer, he learns these cubs are from Nyumbani Shelter and her name is Haven. After gathering the courage, he walks up to her. "Hi, I couldn't help but notice you as I was walking by and thinking you'd be the perfect fit among the lionesses of my pride. Would you be interested in joining me? If so, should I go talk to her?" He gestured towards Vikela, who was carefully watching some cubs train. 0 players like this post! Like? |

@Nakooma Khatiba purred. “”I’m sure she’ll be happy in your pride.” The elderly broodmother gave Rabbit one last nuzzle before watching her leave the den. @Cat6285 Laughing, Haven said, “You’d have better luck talking to the other broodmother, Vikela can be a bit scary.” However, the orange lioness was already padding over. “You want to adopt this cub, correct?” Vikela asked, gesturing towards Haven. Her eyes narrowed at the visitor. “I don’t remember seeing you around here before.” She was about to say more when Haven interrupted. “I’ll be fine, Vikela! I’m nearly an adult, I can take care of myself. Besides, he seems nice!” The broodmother sighed. “Alright. You may go with him. Yarjau walks over to two adols standing by the tree. "Hey little ones, you're Tidepool & Daffodil correct?" the young lions nod respectfully. "How would one of you like to come back to my pride with me and meet my family? I have a handful of other youngin's just like you and I know theyre ready to show you the ropes and how we work back home. We have others your age to play with, and lots of hunters to take you out and train you to become one of these lands most powerful & feared hunters." Yarjau pads over to the broodmothers and purrs. "I would like to take home Daffodil or Tidepool, whichever is willing to adventure across the lands with me. First off, thank you for hosting this. It's too kind <3 Roleplay: A king looked around, slightly dazed when he saw cubs and adolescents playing as they chattered, guarded carefully by their broodmothers. His gaze traveled slowly through the males and females when his eyes landed on one adolescent. It was a female, with a gorgeous Shedua pelt and bright white eyes. Wondering if she would be willing to stay with his pride, he asked, "Would you be interested in joining me? My lionesses will welcome you warmly." Queen Cloudy peeked inside the shelter den. She took a good look around, and glimpsed a spotted tail. She playfully approached the spotted cub. "Well, hello! What's your name?" The cub had been focused on catching a bug, but when she heard the kind voice, she turned, giving Queen Cloudy her complete attention. "I'm Fury, and I'm seven months old." "Fury. What a nice name! Aren't you a pretty cub?" "Thanks," Fury giggled, blushing. "Say, Fury, how would you like to live with me and my pride?" "Really?" the cub asked excitedly. "Really truly!" the lioness winked. Queen Azalea padded into the shelter. Her eyes widened at the wide arrangement of cubs and a smile spread across her lips. She looked around some more, her ovaries practically bursting with the need to have more kits of her own. Michi, her mate, had sent her on a journey to find a cub after their last failed attempt at conceiving. Now she was overwhelmed at the sheer amount of options. While surveying younger cubs her eyes locked with a sad looking full grown lioness. She was barely a lioness but still. After seeing how sad Margeri looked Azalea padded over to her.
