 This thread is part of the Ilanga’s Adoptions clan, although anyone can adopt cubs here. Please check it out, we’d love to have some new members! You are still welcome to request cubs, but keep an eye out for future changes! Welcome! This is one of Lioden’s longest-existing cub adoption threads, created in October 2018. It has since expanded into multiple shelters and a clan. It’s named after the owner’s first broodmother, Ilanga. All of the cubs here are free for the taking, as long as they are marked as “Adoptable”. All you have to do is write a quick roleplay, even if it’s just a couple sentences long. Once you’ve read the rules, you can speak to one of the broodmothers at the adoption center and let them know which cub(s) you would like! Rules -Please DO NOT kill/tree/sell a cub you get from us! They are looking for permanent homes. -You can adopt as many cubs as you like! Just make sure that you can actually care for all of them. -To make things easier for us, please specify the name of the shelter or broodmother you are adopting from in your roleplay. -You don’t need to include a link to the cub, just their name. -We generally have a first-come, first-serve policy, but if someone puts more effort into their roleplay or message, we might choose them instead. -Please do not argue with the decision of a shelter owner. However, if you have a problem (such as a cub not arriving, or receiving the wrong cub), don’t be afraid to reach out to us! -If you break the rules, we may prevent you from adopting a cub here in the future. -We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. Born during the poaching season, Vikela lost many of her family and friends to vicious attacks when she was just a cub. She witnessed firsthand the deaths of countless cubs, and made it her mission to protect as many as she could in the future. She trained as a warrior alongside the pride’s other guards before becoming a broodmother, and as a result, she can seem quite tough and intimidating at first sight, especially to outsiders, who she distrusts. However, despite being a bit overprotective at times, she is popular among her pride and a hero to the cubs she raises. Once you’ve gained her trust, she will be loyal until her last breath.
Despite being an elderly lioness, blind in one eye and beginning to lose her hearing, Khatiba is as sharp as ever. She may not be as fast as she used to be, but she keeps a watchful eye on the playing cubs from her resting spot. When they grow tired of running and wrestling, they gather around her to hear one of her stories. She loves to tell the cubs about legends passed down through the generations, of vicious battles and ancient gods. She is gentle and kind, balancing out Vikela’s fiery energy. You may have met her daughter Kuhle at the clan’s stockpile.
Amina is a very trustworthy lioness. She would die before she saw any of the cubs she protected be harmed. Her goal in life is to find a good home for each and every cub she can. She is confident, kind, and most important to her, gentle. If any cub gets hurt in her presence she will be sure to rush to it and care for it to the best of her ability. Though she may get suspicious of some lions, she does her best to trust every lion and lioness she comes across.

Thanatos, having heard of the adoption dens, travelled a great distance to see for himself if the the rumours were true. When he arrived at the mouth of the large den, a beautiful lioness, obviously a broodmother, approached. "Hello... I have come to see the cubs... I wish to adopt a little one named Nellie... King Aku looked up tiredly to see the pride's cubs running around playfully around a den, and saw lioness at the mouth of the cave, presumably the broodmother, scolding a cub for biting another's tail. Aku nodded his head respectfully as soon as the lioness noticed him, "I've come here hearing of cubs up for adoption and are looking for the ones who are named Starling, Etoile, and Wolfgang. Aku watched as the cubs shuffled to his side and smiled at Nele, "Yes, thank you, I'll be sure to ask the other broodmother for Starling." Aku walked with the cubs by his side and shouted one last thanks to Nele before turning around to find the other lioness. Aku looked around to see a grey cub batting at a dead leaf, 'ah, that must be Starling' He thought as he remembered his pride mates describing the cub. Aku walked up to the lioness next to the woods, who was currently trying to teach an adolescent how to hunt, and cleared his throat to get their attention. Aphrodite enters the den called "Noble." She scans the few adolescents inside, before her eyes fall on one. "Ah, there she is." She smiles wide before seeking out Africa. She sees her near the entrance of the cave and approaches her. "Greetings! My king has tasked me with finding new lionesses to fill the...dwindling numbers in our pride," a sad look crosses her face for a moment before she's back to smiling. " I had heard of an adolescent called 'Rachel,' and I believe that is her over there," Aphrodite nods her head towards the dark pinkish hued lioness she identified before. "May I take her home with me? I promise she will be well trained and cared for. Our other lionesses would love and adolescent to pass their wisdom to." The male cubs here don’t get adopted as often, it’s nice to know that he’ll get a home.” She called out to the cub, and he dropped the leaf he had been playing with to run over to the broodmother. King Aku dipped his head and thanked the lioness for Starling, and watched as the cub gathered with the others by his side. Aku walked off, heading back to his pride, as Solaris came running to his side to help bring the cubs back and shouted a "thank you" to the broodmothers for the cubs. 0 players like this post!
