 This thread is part of the Ilanga’s Adoptions clan, although anyone can adopt cubs here. Please check it out, we’d love to have some new members! You are still welcome to request cubs, but keep an eye out for future changes! Welcome! This is one of Lioden’s longest-existing cub adoption threads, created in October 2018. It has since expanded into multiple shelters and a clan. It’s named after the owner’s first broodmother, Ilanga. All of the cubs here are free for the taking, as long as they are marked as “Adoptable”. All you have to do is write a quick roleplay, even if it’s just a couple sentences long. Once you’ve read the rules, you can speak to one of the broodmothers at the adoption center and let them know which cub(s) you would like! Rules -Please DO NOT kill/tree/sell a cub you get from us! They are looking for permanent homes. -You can adopt as many cubs as you like! Just make sure that you can actually care for all of them. -To make things easier for us, please specify the name of the shelter or broodmother you are adopting from in your roleplay. -You don’t need to include a link to the cub, just their name. -We generally have a first-come, first-serve policy, but if someone puts more effort into their roleplay or message, we might choose them instead. -Please do not argue with the decision of a shelter owner. However, if you have a problem (such as a cub not arriving, or receiving the wrong cub), don’t be afraid to reach out to us! -If you break the rules, we may prevent you from adopting a cub here in the future. -We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. Born during the poaching season, Vikela lost many of her family and friends to vicious attacks when she was just a cub. She witnessed firsthand the deaths of countless cubs, and made it her mission to protect as many as she could in the future. She trained as a warrior alongside the pride’s other guards before becoming a broodmother, and as a result, she can seem quite tough and intimidating at first sight, especially to outsiders, who she distrusts. However, despite being a bit overprotective at times, she is popular among her pride and a hero to the cubs she raises. Once you’ve gained her trust, she will be loyal until her last breath.
Despite being an elderly lioness, blind in one eye and beginning to lose her hearing, Khatiba is as sharp as ever. She may not be as fast as she used to be, but she keeps a watchful eye on the playing cubs from her resting spot. When they grow tired of running and wrestling, they gather around her to hear one of her stories. She loves to tell the cubs about legends passed down through the generations, of vicious battles and ancient gods. She is gentle and kind, balancing out Vikela’s fiery energy. You may have met her daughter Kuhle at the clan’s stockpile.
Amina is a very trustworthy lioness. She would die before she saw any of the cubs she protected be harmed. Her goal in life is to find a good home for each and every cub she can. She is confident, kind, and most important to her, gentle. If any cub gets hurt in her presence she will be sure to rush to it and care for it to the best of her ability. Though she may get suspicious of some lions, she does her best to trust every lion and lioness she comes across.

Adoption from Bluefox~ The energetic young king bounced into the territory, a smile on his face. He had recently took over his uncles pride, and was looking for more lionesses to call his own. "Greetings! My name is Eggue. I am here to adopt some new cubs." His tail swayed back and forth, his eyes darting to each adolescent and cubs in the nearby area. He was excited. He had never got to do anything like this before! His eyes stopped on Hazel and Celeste. "Are those two available? They look like they would be mighty fine hunters one day!" (Smoke from Nyumbani Shelter please!) A brown male approached the shelter slowly, a pink-eyed adolescent male at his shoulder. The teen was looking around at all the cubs, a spark of excitement in his eyes. He'd recently come from a shelter similar to this place, and now he was going to help pass along the fortune of a good home! "Go ahead and find any you like, Jyothi," the brown king murmured into the adolescent's ear. Jyothi still couldn't believe that he was actually being considered as a heir. He hadn't even been in the pride as long as most of his peers! And now, he was getting to choose his own potential pride members? He was almost vibrating with excitement. Jyothi's eyes landed on a black she-cub who stood out to him. She looked to be only a few moons younger than him, and even had similar eyes, although hers were more red. He looked up to see a broodmother approaching and gulped nervously. He hated talking. To his relief though, he heard a familiar voice speaking up behind him. "Greetings, ma'am. I am Makaio, and this here is Jyothi, my potential heir. We are here today for him to adopt a cub or two for his own pride, should he be kinged." His tone, although quiet, was nothing short of respectful. Jyothi knew Makaio hated talking as much as he did-they were so similar sometimes, even Malaya occasionally mixed them up!-so he was quite relieved and appreciative of him doing so, and promised to make it up later. "Jyothi, have any cubs caught your eye?" the king continued, black eyes blinking encouragingly at him. Jyothi felt a small surge of confidence. It wasn't that bad, surely. They could get through this together. Now it was his turn. "Umm, what about, uh, that one over there?" he spoke a bit nervously, using his tail to flick in the direction of the she-cub, hoping he didn't sound too stupid as his paws shifted nervously. Vikela observed the visitors silently for a moment. Neither of them seemed to pose much of a threat, least of all the awkward adolescent asking about a cub. At last, she nodded. “You may take her,” she said. She caught Smoke’s grin out of the corner of her eye, and tried— somewhat unsuccessfully— to stop herself from smiling as well. Jyoth's eyes lit up with relief. See? He was fine. He turned to Makaio as their new pride member approached, catching his eye, hoping hsi gratitude was expressed. He watched as the king stepped forward to touch his nose to Smoke's forehead in greeting before looking up at Vikela. "Thank you for her. We promise she will be well taken care of, and it is a wonderful thing you are doing here." With that they were gone, taking off at a slow, leisurely place. (Tarantula from Nyumbani and Blossom from Itanya please) Paladin pads overs to the adoption center with his queen, his eyes softening when he saw the cubs and adolescents playing. "Could we take Tarantula out for a little bit, I'd like them to meet my pride before coming with us." And with that, they flew up into the sky with Tarantula, they flew them around their forested territory, and even took them hunting. They returned an hour or 2 later.
