 This thread is part of the Ilanga’s Adoptions clan, although anyone can adopt cubs here. Please check it out, we’d love to have some new members! You are still welcome to request cubs, but keep an eye out for future changes! Welcome! This is one of Lioden’s longest-existing cub adoption threads, created in October 2018. It has since expanded into multiple shelters and a clan. It’s named after the owner’s first broodmother, Ilanga. All of the cubs here are free for the taking, as long as they are marked as “Adoptable”. All you have to do is write a quick roleplay, even if it’s just a couple sentences long. Once you’ve read the rules, you can speak to one of the broodmothers at the adoption center and let them know which cub(s) you would like! Rules -Please DO NOT kill/tree/sell a cub you get from us! They are looking for permanent homes. -You can adopt as many cubs as you like! Just make sure that you can actually care for all of them. -To make things easier for us, please specify the name of the shelter or broodmother you are adopting from in your roleplay. -You don’t need to include a link to the cub, just their name. -We generally have a first-come, first-serve policy, but if someone puts more effort into their roleplay or message, we might choose them instead. -Please do not argue with the decision of a shelter owner. However, if you have a problem (such as a cub not arriving, or receiving the wrong cub), don’t be afraid to reach out to us! -If you break the rules, we may prevent you from adopting a cub here in the future. -We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. Born during the poaching season, Vikela lost many of her family and friends to vicious attacks when she was just a cub. She witnessed firsthand the deaths of countless cubs, and made it her mission to protect as many as she could in the future. She trained as a warrior alongside the pride’s other guards before becoming a broodmother, and as a result, she can seem quite tough and intimidating at first sight, especially to outsiders, who she distrusts. However, despite being a bit overprotective at times, she is popular among her pride and a hero to the cubs she raises. Once you’ve gained her trust, she will be loyal until her last breath.
Despite being an elderly lioness, blind in one eye and beginning to lose her hearing, Khatiba is as sharp as ever. She may not be as fast as she used to be, but she keeps a watchful eye on the playing cubs from her resting spot. When they grow tired of running and wrestling, they gather around her to hear one of her stories. She loves to tell the cubs about legends passed down through the generations, of vicious battles and ancient gods. She is gentle and kind, balancing out Vikela’s fiery energy. You may have met her daughter Kuhle at the clan’s stockpile.
Amina is a very trustworthy lioness. She would die before she saw any of the cubs she protected be harmed. Her goal in life is to find a good home for each and every cub she can. She is confident, kind, and most important to her, gentle. If any cub gets hurt in her presence she will be sure to rush to it and care for it to the best of her ability. Though she may get suspicious of some lions, she does her best to trust every lion and lioness she comes across.

Tiberius walked through the night, looking for the homeless shelter for cubs he had been hearing so much about. Glancing to the side, he witnessed beautiful cubs playing in the tall grass. One caught his eye though, a black lioness with white spots. He noticed once she had stopped to rest she went up to a gentle faced elder with one blind eye. He trotted up to meet with them “Hello,” he started, “ I was wondering if this beautiful lioness was up for adoption?” He spoke, the words coming out in a perfect song. 0 players like this post! The young king padded into a shelter named Nyumbani hoping he was in the right place. He shrunk down a bit, unsure of the place. “Um hi I heard about a place where you could adopt cubs? I was wondering if you’d be willing to depart with one. I’m afraid our pride isn’t doing to well at the moment and I’d really appreciate if I could adopt a cub!” The king puffed out his chest and stood up straighter. Vale looked around at the oh-so familiar cave and noticed that the shelter was now teeming with new cubs. One in particular stood out to her, Nhalahla, their yellow eyes gleamed as bright as the sun and their markings fit right in the the other members of her pride Vale turned to the direction of the broodmother in charge of the shelter, Vikela, who was currently on her back, tussling with the adolescent, Copper, who was soon to be a grown lioness. Vale dipped her head as a greeting when the broodmother spotted her and straightened herself, "Hello, I am Vale, I'd like to adopt Nhalahla if I may. Walked around, eager to adopt more amazing cubs into the pride, Tiberius stumbled upon 4 cubs he was very excited to meet. They came from Mtoaji, and they were incredibly cute. Soon, a brood mother caught wind of Tiberius and happily padded over to see him. She introduced herself as Nera. “Greetings” Tiberius smiled as he dipped his head in respect. “Could I please adopt Zayne, Lexi, Mercury, and Sienna into my pride? He spotted a gorgeous cub named Nhalahla, and he knew that she would be right for his pride. (Sorry if this is not what we’re supposed to do! I’m Marakai from the Discord, just wanted to say thanks for responding to my question! <3) Another king had walked into the shelter. GhostScar looked at all the beautiful cubs but one just stood out and he couldn’t keep his eye off of her. He nodded and walked all over, looking for the broodmother. He found one named Grimm and decided to speak up. He stood up straight after reaching the broodmother. “Hello, is Asher available for adoption? Grimm smiled at the lion before her, whose voice had cracked adorably. "Asher is still available and I am sure she would love to join your pride! Let me go get her" Grimm returned followed by a young lioness with silver and orange stripes, who was grinning happily at the idea of being adopted. "Goodbye Asher, don't be too troublesome, yes?" (Trying again haha-) GhostScar returned once again, grinning this time. He stepped into a different shelter, “Nyumbani.” he read. Once again, all the cubs were beautiful but two cubs caught his eye once more. He straightened up and walked over to a broodmother that was in charge of the shelter. She introduced herself as Khatiba. “Hello Khatiba! Is Sundance and Leopard available for adoption? They’ll fit in well with the others though I don’t know about..” He stopped talking, he didn’t want a bad first impression of one of his lionesses. 0 players like this post!
