Serac nodded once, dipping his head to the collection of dragons in front of him. With a powerful wingbeat, he rose into the air and crossed the ice wall, still taking an odd pleasure in the fact that let him over. He tipped his brown tinged wings and soared towards the palace, repeating Solstice's directions in his head

"M-Maybe I could stay with her for a while?" North sounded hopeful, "Just to help her, y'know, get used to the new home and everything?" He glanced at Solstice.

Queen Daydreamer stumbled into her cave, her once shiny, brightly colored scales a mix of dark red and black. She winced as sharp pains jutted in her stomach. This had been happening all too frequently, she thought. Was it a sign? An omen? She didn't know. But what she did know was that it wasn't getting any better.
Her sickness, which had been worsening over many moons, had prevented her from performing many duties important to queenship. She knew she was getting old, and the time for her to retire was long past. But she didn't have any heir.. no prince or princess beneath her to take her place. What she would do? Worry gnawed at her mind as she flopped down into her leafy nest, trying to ease the pain with deep breaths.
Suddenly, the pain swelled, making her insides feel like they were bursting open. She let out a screech of pain as agony spread throughout her body.



Sunshower was lurched from her relaxed state at the waterfall as she heard the distant screech of a too-familiar voice.
"Queen Daydreamer!" She blurted out loud, springing up to her feet and launching herself into the air and up to the branches of the trees. She wove quickly through the branches until she made it to the camp.
Sunshower landed roughly on the ground and raced into the Queen's cave, which was already crowded with worried Rainwings. She pushed through them all and made it to the front of the crowd and looked down at the queen in horror.
She was stretched across her bed, fear and agony clouding her eyes. A thin stream of blood trickled out of her jaws and onto her nest. Her stomach was strangely bloated and irregular. Sunshower's jaw dropped at the sight of her queen in such an awful state.


Daydreamer fought the agony, looking at the crowd of dragons around her. Think fast. Think fast. Think fast.
She scanned through the crowd, searching for someone, anyone, who would be worthy of the place of queen. She realized how little she knew about her fellow Rainwings, and regret and sadness poured through her heart. The colorful scales, the worried looks, the scared questions, were all making her dizzy. She looked away from the crowd and up at the large holes in her cave ceiling.
It was a bright and sunny day. Rays of golden light poured onto the dragons and the cave floor, making the scene seem falsely happy and peaceful. Suddenly, wet droplets began to land on the queen's scales. They felt cool and refreshing, and she focused on them instead of the pain. The blood around her jaws was washed away. She smiled in the sunlight, wondering if this was the last time she would ever feel happy again.
I've always loved sunshowers.
Sunshower.
"Sunshower!" She called out to the crowd, peering through her glazed eyes. "Sunshower..."
"She's delusional." Some dragon called out. "It is a sunshower, Queen Daydreamer."
"No." Queen Daydreamer snarled, weakly lifting up a talon and pointing at the young dragon standing in front of her. "Sunshower. You... will be the queen."


Shock rippled through Sunshower's mind. "Wh-what?" She asked, sure she didn't hear right. "..Me?"
"Yes." Queen Daydreamer sighed, seeming satisfied with herself. "My time is done. It is your time to reign."
Sunshower shook her head, fear shaking her to the bone. "How? How will I? How will I know what to do?"
The queen rested her head, closing her eyes. "You won't." She smiled. "That's just how it goes. Now go, and follow my orders." She turned to Sunshower, opening her bright eyes once more. "I believe in you."
And she closed her eyes, exhaling her final breath.

Starchaser gave Torch a smile, nodding a little to her. "It's okay. I think the stress of everything that's been happening has gotten to everyone lately." He landed next to her, making certain she was alright; he sat down next to her as her legs seemed to fall out from underneath her, nudging her nervously.

"Maybe we should stay back this time. Mango is an animus, she knows what she's doing." He mumbled, sitting close to her. He wanted to join Mango and Ocelot and the others, but he knew right now he needed to stay here.

Solstice frowned a little at North's request, but she figured he was almost grown; he could make his own decisions. Besides, it was kind of adorable - if she stared at them long enough, she figured North might have a bit of a crush on the Sandwing. the thought made her smirk ever so slightly.

"I suppose that's alright."

North cheered on the inside as he flared his wings slightly. "So...do you want to live in an igloo? Or just a normal den is okay?" He asked Sahara.

"Something like a sand hut." She answered, whiled shaking her talons and breathing fire on the now-clear-of-snuh ground to dry it out.

"A-Are you sure? A sand hut...wouldn't that fall apart?" North glanced at Sahara as she was drying her talons.

"Not if it's built correctly. And with all this snow, I won't even have to water it." She said, before excavating more into the hill for her sleeping space.

North sighed. Could he build his own igloo next to Sahara's...sand hut? Or maybe they could both stay in the sand hut....

Snowstorm watched curiously the strange dragons in the snowy place. Who were they? What were they doing in here?
She wanted to go there and meet them, but she could'nt take that risk. But surely she could leave a message of some sort when they were asleep?
With that tought, Snowstorm created a plan.

Waking up in their cave, Petrel and Aries got their supplies ready in leather bags and headed out to explore. "I want to go to the snow again" Petrel announced. "For the penguins?" Aries asked, already knowing the answer. "PENGUINS ARE AMAZING! THEY ARE CUTE, SOFT, DELICIOUS AND COMPACT." Petrel ranted, only amusing his brother more. "Alright, lets go get you some penguins." "YES!" Taking off, they head to the snow.

Serac landed in the snow suddenly, skidding and throwing up a bit of a flurry. He had retrieved one of the brackets from the throne room, of course stopping to pick a fight with the guards, the bracelet now clutched in his front talon.

He held it out to Sahara, "Here it is. It should allow you to cross the wall. You will freeze to death if you go too far, but you should be able to manage with the bracelet- or without it if you are just inside."

The Nightwing nodded gently to her, sitting down next to her. The ground was slick and muddy - they were on the edge of Icewing territory, so the snow had melted here, but it was just cold enough for the ground to seem perpetually wet. It made him uncomfortable, but he wasn't about to complain, instead choosing to stay beside Torch.

Solstice watched North and Sahara once more with amusement, sitting down and curling her tail around her talons. She flinched slightly in surprise at Serac's clumsy landing, but simply smirked instead of saying anything. She stood up, making her way over to North and Sahara as Serac held out the bracelet.

"I trust you didn't have too much trouble finding it," She commented, chuckling a little bit. Her face became serious and she returned her gaze to Sahara.

"Don't give anybody else that bracelet, understood? I doubt you will, but I feel as if a warning is better than going without one." She didn't warn her exactly what would happen if she did give another dragon said bracelet, but Solstice figured her face said it all.
