This RP is closed and has been remade here: LINK A feminine, monotone voice echoes through the halls of a suburban family home, "An estimated 250 dogs live at the plant itself, 225 in the city of Chernobyl, and hundreds more roam around, for a total of more than 1,000, according to SPCA International. Wolves and the need for food have driven the dogs from wooded areas surrounding the plant into the Exclusion Zone." Suddenly, a sharper female voice cuts in. "Don't watch something so depressing, sweetie. The puppies are fine." The screen goes black. setting music The city is picturesque from the television screen. Though living amongst the crumbling, overgrown, radioactive buildings is another hell entirely. Dogs whose ancestors were abandoned by their masters in order to escape the explosion generations ago still remain here to this day, too far into the Exclusion Zone to be saved by any humans residing outside of Chernobyl. Many have been born with birth defects, sometimes visible but more often affecting their minds, organs and lifespans. Two major packs have risen out of the dust, Abolition and Insurgent. The packs have always been at odds but due to the encroachment of wolves and low resources, space is low and tempers are at an all time high. Can they come together to overcome the odds or will their own greed tear them down?
Current season: Early Winter. [Frigid temperatures. Long nights, short and dark days.] Current major events: Time Skip!! 9/5 Two Abolition dogs have been killed by Insurgent pack members. This has caused unrest in both packs. A massive snow storm has swept over Chernobyl, bringing an early winter and a shortage of supplies.

Name: Luxnas | Location: Abolition Territory | Mentions: Open Luxnas was avoiding his packmates, as per usual. He generally spent most of the day hunting and patrolling their territory, ensuring that Lance's job was easier, as he had noticed that the weight of leadership didn't sit well on their shoulders. Gotcha. Luxnas had just taken down another rat and was making his way back to camp, his sizable jaws filled with rather easy prey. He had hoped to find something larger, but luck and the weather were not on his side. Now that it was closer to evening, he hoped to lounge around camp for a few hours before retiring to his den before another early start tomorrow. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Quillon | Insurgent Warrior| Location: Insurgent Territory Mentions: Aramis, Fang, Shadow. He stopped in his tracks, the cries causing his ears to perk forwards in confusion. He could only make out one word in the jumble of yelling, Ryker. His ears and expression sunk. He choked back a pang of guilt and stepped back onto the road. I shouldn't have left until I was sure... He sighed, glancing over to Fang as he talked. "Yes." He replied, "You can stay here, both of you. I'll go back and see what's happened." He shook out his coat, his nails clicking against the pavement as he prepared to make yet another trek down the path today. Fiorello | Loner | Location: Insurgent Territory Mentions: Jet. Fiorello dipped his head instinctively as Jet's voice rose. "I-I'm sure you do." He replied, brown eyes never ceasing to scan every dark corner of his surroundings. His ears twitch back as the strange dog keeps talking. "Mistake". He had heard that word all too often during his lifetime. He took another long step forward. "Um.. You seem hungry. Have you had anything to eat?" He asks suddenly, his voice barely a whisper. His mind flashed back to a pair of rats he had stashed away a couple alleyways over. No. Wait. He stopped moving, his nose crinkling. Was he considering feeding this pack dog? He must have completely lost it. Ferrer | Abolition Healer | Location: Abolition Camp Mentions: Reo, Shiloh. "Don't worry. If anything happens, I'll protect us." His snout crumpled in doubt as he eyed the smaller dog, though he couldn't suppress a chuckle as Reo chomped at the air. "I'm sure you will." He replied, his gaze wandering from the other canine as a familiar figure approached. "Good evenin', Shiloh." He greeted his sister, his stumped tail wagging slowly and his cheeks crinkling as he offered her a smile. "Aye, of course you can come along. Who am I to tell you not to?" He replied, gazing at his younger sister through his curly eyebrows. "-and don't make promises you can't keep." He added with a good-natured laugh disrupting him as he talked. He began to step off the path once again, pausing as she mentioned the scent he had tried so desperately to ignore earlier. It was indeed the smell of one of Insurgent's dogs. "Maybe they've come over to have tea." He joked, though his tone remained blunt and without a shred of humor. "Maybe Shiloh and I should go? I don't want anything to happen to ya, Ferrer." He let out a sniff of disdain at the thought and stomped forward. "I'm no one to be protectin' like a princess." He huffed out, his fur rising on his back. "I've fought so many warriors- A lone Insurgent dog would collapse in fear at the sight of me." He began to ramble as he kept trudging forwards, his voice trailing off the further he got away. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 23/08/21 @ 13:27:32 by Sleep π± (#44085) |

Name: Saint| Location: Abolition Territory | Mentions: Luxnas After her awful cross of paths with the Insurgent gaggle, her face was twisted into a foul-seeming snarl, head low and ears pinned back as she adopted an easy lope through the territory, her paws splashing through small puddles as she tried to move as efficiently as possible. Hunger gnawed at her stomach, and she was not happy to be loping around near one of those dastardly packs. She continued around, moving easily, more of a blur than a moving animal. She would pass through the peripheral vision of the hulking akita, gone as soon as she appeared. Unfortunately the mammoth Dane didn't see, hear, or smell the other dog. 0 players like this post! Name: Ryker|Location: Insurgent's camp|Mentions: Shadow, Saint Ryker ran, and ran until she ran into Saint's large legs and her body collapsed underneath her. "Please, please don't go mommy.. not again" she said with tears in her eyes as she looked up at Saint. "I thought the bear hurt you but I guess it didn't! Now we can together and be happy..!" the small puppy said with a sad smile. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Name: Shadow | Location: Insurgent Territory | Mentions: Open "Ryker!!' Shadow kept howling until their voice gave out, breaking down into sobs of grief. No one was there to see it, so they didn't bother hiding the tears coursing down their face. Nothing was familiar around them, no scents or sounds to tell them where they were. Not that they particularly cared that they were lost. Not while their baby preferred a loner over them. Name: Luxnas | Location: Abolition Territory | Mentions: Ryker, Saint Luxnas had stopped to take a break when suddenly an unfamiliar scent assaulted his nostrils. "Who's there?!" He dropped his catches as he whirled around, searching for the source of the scent. Scents? There were two now. One was Insurgent, the other appeared to be a loner. "I know you're he-" He cut off as the sound of a pup's voice reached his ear. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Aramis | Insurgent Scout | Location: Insurgent Territory Mentions: Fang, Quillon, Shadow, Ryker "She'll be back at it again in no time." Aramis mocked an exasperated sigh as Quillon chuckled, eyes rolling at the remark. "I'm hoping it's not so soon. Imagine we were this rowdy at that age." Aramis inwardly cringed at her last words, ears folding at the back of her head. Isa would have had our heads by then. She chose not to voice that thought after noticing how tense Quillon tense when Ara first mentioned her. "Jet has never been a concern of hers. She better-" Aramis's brow furrowed as Quillon cut his sentence short, looking at him with a slight head tilt, but saying nothing, only nodding in affirmation. She guessed what he was going to say next, that she'd better leave him alone, but wondered why he cut himself off from saying so. Was it because Fang was with them and most likely listening, or was it that he didn't want to Ara his detest of their mother? Odd- it wasn't like Ara made it seem like she thought positively of her or anything. Nonetheless, Aramis shrugged it off, locking her gaze with Quillons as he spoke again to she and Fang. "There was a group of boar here a few days ago. We might be able to pick up their scent if they're still in the area." Aramis nodded, blinking thoughtfully. "If we find one, one of us could chase it towards you so you can take it down? She inquired, casting a glance between Fang and Quillon. "That is, if the boar decides not to defend itself." She added in a darker tone, looking to Quillon expectantly. "If we split up we'll be able to find their tracks, that should get us started." Aramis was about to let out a huff of agreement before Rykers yelling and barking reached her ears, expression sinking as she turned to look back with narrowed eyes. "Seems like you were right about her." Aramis muttered, letting out a genuine, exasperated sigh this time. Ara lowered herself to her haunches as Quillon ordered Fang and her to stay, watching as Ryker seemed to run away again. "I wonder what the hell that girl sees in the mongrel." 0 players like this post! Like? |

Name: Saint| Location: Abolition Territory | Mentions: Luxnas, Ryker The dog had paused to survey the nearby territory, stance stiff and upright as she listened carefully. She thought she heard pawsteps, heavy. But the voice from the akita she didn't know was there was drowned out by the caterwauling pup she never seemed to be able to escape. "Kid, come on. I'm not your mom. I don't have kids. Never even had a mate. We don't even look anything alike!" she crabbed, exasperated, definitely loud enough for the watcher to hear. 0 players like this post! Name: Luxnas | Location: Abolition Border | Mentions: Saint, Ryker Luxnas dropped into a crouch, abandoning his hoard to the rats he knew would find it. What is an Insurgent pup doing with a loner? His ear pricked as their conversation reached him. They're related? "I'm not your mom. I don't have pups." Apparently not. That means this pup wandered off to be with a loner who doesn't want her. A wicked grin crossed his muzzle as he stalked towards them. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Quillon | Insurgent Warrior| Location: Insurgent Territory Mentions: Shadow. His spotted coat was dappled with dim light as he returned to the last location he had seen Shadow and Ryker. He lowered his nose to the ground, sniffing at the dirt in an attempt to pick up their scent. No use. The trampled area was littered with an array of smells, and his nose wasn't near as good as his sisters. He lifted his head instead, letting out a loud, echoing, bark into the air. He then paused, scarred face pointed towards the horizon as he waited for an answer. His eyes lifted to gaze at the sky, no longer blue but a warm mix of pink and orange. It will be dark soon. He paced a bit, mulling the thought of turning around to get help in his mind. No. The others were busy, and their tasks were just as important. Shadow and Ryker couldn't have gone far, and they would be back soon. Even the pup knew better then to be out past dark.. At least, he hoped she did. He drew in a deep breath and let out another bark, this one much more of a bellow. All he could do was wait. Fiorello | Loner | Location: Insurgent Territory Mentions: Jet. The lanky dog let out a soft hum as he tilted his head in thought. Without another word he turned on his heels, his nails tapping against the concrete as he trotted away with purpose. He skirted around the building and broke out into a sprint, his nose leading him back to a familiar building he often frequented. Lowering himself onto the ground, he crawled through the narrow entrance, his hips barely squeezing through. Once in, he shoved his nose into a pile of objects, pulling out a plump rat. I hope this is worth it. He shook the thought away and wiggled his way out again. Retracing his steps, he made it back rather quickly. He bounced in the air and all but threw the rat at Jet, not daring to get much closer than he had already been. "I-I can't help you find your way back." He stated. "-but here is a meal at least. F-for not alerting your pack." With that he turned to leave, glancing back over his shoulder as he stepped away. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Name: Shadow | Location: Insurgent Territory | Mentions: Quillion Shadow heard Quillion's barks and let out a mournful wolf-howl to let him know their location. They hoped it would carry far enough, as his barks were barely more than whispers on the wind. "please come find me.... I'm so lost....". These were the words their howl carried, filled with a heart-wrenching despair. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Name: Fang | Location: Insurgent Territory | Mentions: Aramis Fang kept a distance from the other scout, she was obviously distracted. He trotted ahead of her, the scents where mixed. Of their own scents and of creatures that roamed the area. There wasn't the scent of boar anywhere that he could detect. He was awfully tired, having to find a wandering pup, dealing with how clingy that pup was to the loner it had met, and now he'd have to do a hunt. "Nope, nothing" he sighed, a harsh tone, yet directed at himself. Still very much focused, he remembered that Isa got him into this. He longed for a scout where there wasn't the others. They seemed to taunt him, only in his mind though. He knew he was imagining all of it, but it made him feel better about himself. Blaming all the others. --------- Name: Jade | Location: Abolition Territory | Mentions: None Jade's paws made a swiffling sound as the brushed past the pebbles. She had wandered quite far, yet stayed in the area of their territory. There were distant smells of other dogs, keeping her aware. She was lucky she had a higher rank, she would be less likely to be scolded for wandering off. Although her usual workload was still the same, maybe it had even increased. She occasionally had thoughts that the others may think that she had way less work than they did. Unfortunately, incorrect. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Quillon | Insurgent Warrior| Location: Insurgent/Abolition Border Mentions: Shadow. Quillon's eyes lit up as Shadow's howl echoed through the trees. How had they gotten so far away? He started padding towards them, noting how dangerously close he now was to Aboltion's border. His fur stood on edge as the scents of the hostile dogs rose up from the land. He stopped, eyes searching the surrounding area frantically. He weighed his options in his head, slowly continuing on his trek that was now leading him over the border and into Abolition's territory. I'll have my ear chewed off for this.. If I'm not killed by this pack first. He cringed at the thought. It wasn't long that a familiar scent finally wafted past his nose. This was it! He broke into a run, almost crashing into the figure of Shadow in his rush. "Shadow!" He exclaimed, ecstatic to see his beta safe from harm. He bumped his head against theirs happily before stepping back, his tail whooshing from side to side behind him. He glanced around them, eyes searching for the rosy coat of the pup. "Where's Ryker?" He asked finally, his tail slowing to a stop. Fiorello | Loner | Location: Insurgent Territory Mentions: Jet. He forced himself to pause, but narrowed his eyes. Was it safe to let his identity be known? The question bounced around in his head for a moment. He stayed silent for a long while, before deciding he was just being paranoid. "Fiorello." He finally answered, though quietly. It had been quite a while since he had last spoken his name and it felt almost foreign to him. How long had it been since he had come in contact with another dog? "Ah- What is yours?" He finally asked. The question came out in a rushed, but polite, tone. Something inside of him had decided it was time to leave and he could feel his legs shaking the longer he forced himself to stand there. 0 players like this post! Like? |
