This RP is closed and has been remade here: LINK A feminine, monotone voice echoes through the halls of a suburban family home, "An estimated 250 dogs live at the plant itself, 225 in the city of Chernobyl, and hundreds more roam around, for a total of more than 1,000, according to SPCA International. Wolves and the need for food have driven the dogs from wooded areas surrounding the plant into the Exclusion Zone." Suddenly, a sharper female voice cuts in. "Don't watch something so depressing, sweetie. The puppies are fine." The screen goes black. setting music The city is picturesque from the television screen. Though living amongst the crumbling, overgrown, radioactive buildings is another hell entirely. Dogs whose ancestors were abandoned by their masters in order to escape the explosion generations ago still remain here to this day, too far into the Exclusion Zone to be saved by any humans residing outside of Chernobyl. Many have been born with birth defects, sometimes visible but more often affecting their minds, organs and lifespans. Two major packs have risen out of the dust, Abolition and Insurgent. The packs have always been at odds but due to the encroachment of wolves and low resources, space is low and tempers are at an all time high. Can they come together to overcome the odds or will their own greed tear them down?
Current season: Early Winter. [Frigid temperatures. Long nights, short and dark days.] Current major events: Time Skip!! 9/5 Two Abolition dogs have been killed by Insurgent pack members. This has caused unrest in both packs. A massive snow storm has swept over Chernobyl, bringing an early winter and a shortage of supplies.

Name: Saint| Location: Abolition Territory Border| Mentions: Luxnas, Ryker A sigh escaped the canine, her nose wrinkling. "Kid, come ON. I don't have the time nor the patience to bring a pup along with me. You shouldn't even be here, Abolition pack dogs would tear you limb from limb. Why do you think I don't want to be near any of those greedy pack dogs? Bending at the knee to some stupid wretch...." she grumbled, taking careful steps over Ryker as she moved away from the lurking akita. "Go home. It's late. And dangerous. And your other mom is gonna want you. I'm not your damn momma rebirthed," the dane crabbed. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Aramis | Insurgent Scout | Location: Insurgent Territory Mentions: Isa "-and it didn't cross your minds to inform me of a loner at our borders?" While Isa sounded calm, Aramis recognized the tense, angry air around the dame rather quickly, a few hairs along her shoulder blades prickling with unease. It suddenly felt wrong to have her back turned to the other, but her pace never faltered. "We wouldn't have forgotten to do so, and if the pups screaming and crying hadn't distracted us so much we would have sent one of us over to inform you quicker. I'm sure she won't come back though, but if she does, you'll know." She reasoned softly, in the same calm tone as Isa, though somewhat apologetic. Talking to Isa was all about making sure you leave the encounter with your ears in tact, and luckily Aramis was familiar enough with this game. A shame she had to behave so cautiously around her own mother. Sneaking a glance over at her mothers face once she presented the herd to her, Aramis was surprised once again to see a soft smile on her gray features, Aramis almost assuming she was imagining it, but no, she wasn't, and it looked terribly strange and out of place on her. Once Isa stalked forward, Aramis took the signal with no hesitation, her lean frame crouching low to the ground as she quickly but silently made her way to the other side of the herd. She paused for a few moments, thinking about how she should go about this, and which seemed to be the easiest way. She could find a way to frighten the herd, then she and Isa could target one, and chase it down. Easy enough. Seems like that's how we're going about it. Lean muscle rippling underneath her pelt as her shoulder bunched, a surprisingly loud bark would tear out from her maw, before she would launch herself forward, dust kicking up behind her. As she hoped, the bark frightened the boar significantly, and her exploding from where she was hidden triggered the boars to turn tail and flee. Long, strong legs worked furiously to send her careening across the earth as she gave chase. While most of the boar stayed running, one that was directly in her path did not, instead stopping completely and whirling around. Surprised, Aramis leapt, narrowly avoiding from crashing into the boarβ and it's tusksβ by a few feet. Wasting no time to think, Aramis whirled around, lurching herself forward, jaws agape. Jaws fastened onto the boars shoulders, the weight of her body barreling into the boar sending them by a few inches, but the boar stood upright. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Name: Luxnas | Location: Pack Border, Abolition Side | Mentions: Open Luxnas growls softly to himself before letting out a loud bark. "Who are you and what are you doing in Abolition territory?" He steps out into the fading light, allowing himself to be seen. Though he is covered in mud, bits of his original coloration are still visible. Name: Shadow | Location: Abolition Territory | Mentions: Arseny, Quillion, Tyulen', Jade(?) Shadow's sobs quieted as Arseny and the unknown dogs appeared, and they stood to follow Quillion as soon as the tears stopped. Nothing could be done about their puffy eyes, but they could at least not cry anymore. Name: Mariah | Location: Insurgent Camp | Mentions: Raymond Mariah had been out for most of the day gathering medicinal herbs for the healer, Raymond, though they hadn't mentioned that any were needed. Shadow had mentioned in passing that they were planning on asking Quillion to be their guard, so when Mariah noticed that they were not in camp, they decided to take over the den expansions that would need to be done for them. After dropping off the bundle of herbs in front of the healer's den, she padded off, following Raymond's scent trail to the cave she had just vacated. "Raymond? Are you around here somewhere? It's Mariah, I need to ask you for something." She sat down to await a response. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Name: Fang | Location: Insurgent Territory --> Camp | Mentions: None With the others off on their own jobs and tasks, Fang, found himself with not much to do anymore without the others. Once again he went through the same maze to his camp. How many times had it been that he had went through it? Tired, very tired, Fang flopped onto his little resting area. He wasn't going to sleep, his tired body only simply weighed down his thoughts. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Isa | Insurgent Leader | Location: Insurgent Territory Mentions: Aramis. Isa had slipped silently to the other side of the herd, her body flattened against the ground as she awaited her daughter's next move. It seemed as thought time had stopped completely as she stooped there in silence, her vision disrupted by the thick grass. Suddenly, a loud war-like cry was heard and the boar began to scatter, bolting around her in a blur of grey and brown. She quickly pushed herself from the earth with her front paws. Her ears trained forwards as she searched for Aramis' lithe frame amongst the chaos. There. She wasn't surprised to see one of the larger boars stop in it's tracks and whirl upon the other canine. As Aramis latched onto the beast's shoulders, Isa kicked off of the dirt and bounded through the tall grass to join her. Her usually malice-ridden expression was clear and focused as she dashed to the front of the animal. Without hesitation she lunged forward and clamped her own jaws around the snout of the hog, it's tusks swinging dangerously close to her muzzle as it shook it's head in an attempt to get her off. She let her legs hang limp, her own bodyweight dragging the larger animal forwards to it's knees. After what seemed an eternity, the boar succumbed to the heft of both dogs and fell to it's side with a thud. She craned her body away from it's flailing legs as it attempted to right itself, but her secure hold on it's snout had cut off it's breathing and it was quickly running out of air and the will to fight. Ferrer | Abolition Healer | Location: Abolition Territory Mentions: Reo, Shiloh. He had traipsed forwards through the grass, the tall plants smacking him in the muzzle as he pushed through them. "Me stay behind? Pah!" He exclaimed with a snort, finally shoving his way through the thickest portion of brush to emerge at a lichen-covered section of the territory, adjacent to one of the cooling ponds leading from the reactor. He lowered his nose to the ground, his eyes searching the few plants sticking up from the soil. There wasn't much, sadly. It was the end of the growing season for wormwood and it seemed as though some sort of pest had ravished most of the herbs in the area. Taking another whiff, the scent almost smelled.. Feline-like? Blegh. He quickly pulled his head up with a jerk, sending a puff of air through his nostrils to rid it of the stench. He glanced over his shoulder at the two canines still struggling through the grass, as if remembering they were coming along too. Ferrer huffed quietly before lowering his head again. He began to slice through the stems of some of the plants with his teeth, collecting them in a small pile at his side. He was meticulous, being careful not to damage the roots and only collecting from the flora that seemed healthy enough to survive his pruning. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Name: Saint| Location: Abolition Territory Border| Mentions: Luxnas, Ryker She whirled around, her nose wrinkling. "Goddamnit, kid. Look what you did," she sneered, looking down at Ryker. Not keen on putting her own neck on the chopping block, she shuffled to the side and further out, farther into the land right outside of the Abolition territory. "Pack dog. Sana | Location: Somewhere in Chernobyl | Mentions: Demesu A soft chuckled sounded from the mouth of the mother dog as she stepped lightly along the cracked sidewalk, a slight limp to her gait. Her blue eyes stared straight ahead as the light dwindled from the sky. "This is a fine place to live." She muttered, mostly to herself, "Though it would be better if there were fewer scents around." Sana's voice grew louder with the last sentence, casting a gentle gaze over her right shoulder. Another chuckle emerged from the older dog's mouth, "I'm kidding, you know. Just trying to make you laugh." Sana spoke swiftly seeing the look of dismay upon her companion's face. She'd noticed his hair standing on edge since they found their way into the city, a sight that was always filled with fear. Demesu | Location: Somewhere in Chernobyl | Mentions: Sana It had been so deeply quiet between the duo, the younger yet larger male not making it easy to continue a conversation. His mind had been elsewhere ever since they entered this city, the howls, the smells, all of it was overwhelming him. It wasn't long before he was startled.. again. His mother had a habit of randomly speaking and breaking any silence that always gave him a good fright. Though it was the words that tumbled out of her maw that truly put him on edge. "It would be better with fewer scents around." She'd never say that, heck she'd probably be happier with more scents, more dogs, something he wasn't too fond of. With his eye bulged out it wasn't long before he heard her familiar laugh, oh she was just messing with me, he realized, annoyance becoming clear on his face. Well maybe she was right, it had been a while since he'd properly laughed or smiled for that matter. "Of course mother." was all he managed to get out before silence fell over the two once again. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Raymond | @Insurgent Territory | Mentions: Isa and Aramis. She ran away, lightly sniffling ( what a crybaby :eye_rolls: ) Raymond somewhat ran into the bush making a little squeak as she tumbled out of the leaves and tripped. Raymond shook the leaves off her dusty fur, she looked around panting as she continued to wander the territory. She saw two fingers in the distance, it made her heart beat out of her chest but was relieved that it was only Isa and Aramis. But she was still afraid that Isa's would scold her for sneaking up on them, Raymond hid under the bushes. Watching them both. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Fiorello | Loner | Location: Insurgent Territory Mentions: Sana, Demesu. The ghostly figure of Fiorello crawled out of his hiding place once again. His dark eyes scanned his surroundings before he tested the wind with a sniff. The cool rush of evening air hitting his lungs caused him to reel back in pain and let out a sharp cough. As he regained his balance, he warded the discomfort away with a shake of his droopy ears. Winter. My least favourite. He let the thought settle in his mind before he licked his lips and began to trot out of the alleyway. A subtle murmur echoed in from the adjacent street, causing the timid canine to freeze in his tracks. Ah. Other dogs. Their scent wafted past his nose, affirming to him that they weren't a part of the local pack. The idea didn't exactly calm him, however. Dogs were dogs, and loners could prove to be just as dangerous as a group. Especially if they were hungry. He cautiously stepped back into the shadows, his pale coat aiding very little help in the camouflage department. He glanced back at the closed-off street he was standing in. He was trapped. The mere idea shook him to his core. He lowered himself to the ground, making himself as small as possible. The heavy collar around his neck made a soft clicking noise as it made contact with the concrete. He sunk his head downwards until his chin was touching the ground. All he could do was sit still and hope they would pass by without noticing him. 0 players like this post! Like? |
