This RP is closed and has been remade here: LINK A feminine, monotone voice echoes through the halls of a suburban family home, "An estimated 250 dogs live at the plant itself, 225 in the city of Chernobyl, and hundreds more roam around, for a total of more than 1,000, according to SPCA International. Wolves and the need for food have driven the dogs from wooded areas surrounding the plant into the Exclusion Zone." Suddenly, a sharper female voice cuts in. "Don't watch something so depressing, sweetie. The puppies are fine." The screen goes black. setting music The city is picturesque from the television screen. Though living amongst the crumbling, overgrown, radioactive buildings is another hell entirely. Dogs whose ancestors were abandoned by their masters in order to escape the explosion generations ago still remain here to this day, too far into the Exclusion Zone to be saved by any humans residing outside of Chernobyl. Many have been born with birth defects, sometimes visible but more often affecting their minds, organs and lifespans. Two major packs have risen out of the dust, Abolition and Insurgent. The packs have always been at odds but due to the encroachment of wolves and low resources, space is low and tempers are at an all time high. Can they come together to overcome the odds or will their own greed tear them down?
Current season: Early Winter. [Frigid temperatures. Long nights, short and dark days.] Current major events: Time Skip!! 9/5 Two Abolition dogs have been killed by Insurgent pack members. This has caused unrest in both packs. A massive snow storm has swept over Chernobyl, bringing an early winter and a shortage of supplies.

Name: Shadow | Location: Insurgent Territory | Mentions: Mariah, Jet, Quillion Shadow slowly moved forwards, motioning with their tail that Mariah should move into their backtrail. "It's definitely him, just with a strange metal tint to the scent. I wonder what happened? I don't smell any blood or fear-scent, old or new." They were mostly talking to themselves so it took a moment for them to realize Mariah had spoken. "No, I think he's alright." They picked up the pace despite their neutral tone, a twinge of worry causing their ears to twitch slightly. They stopped as Quillion's scent drifted before their nose. "He's here..." They whispered. Their tail began wagging before they even saw the two dogs playing in the snow, one whole but for a scarred face, and the other attached to some sort of wheeled contraption that allowed him to move. "They're here!!" Shadow was overjoyed to see the two dogs and it was plain to see in their movements, as they bounded forward like a pup and leaped the last few feet towards them, causing the snow to billow up in a cloud. "I'm so happy we found you guys!!!!" Their tail was wagging so fast it almost wasn't visible, and they kept bouncing around, their joy was so strong. Once the snow finally settled, Shadow almost looked like a spotted dame theirself, with snow all over them. They were grinning with their ears straight up and their tail still wagging a mile a minute. Name: Mariah | Location: Insurgent Territory | Mentions: Shadow, Jet, Quillion Mariah leaped over, or more accurately, through the snow to follow in Shadow's pawsteps. "Maybe the two legs got to him? You know they love broken things. If they did anything to hurt that poor pup...." Keeping up was much easier, even as Shadow picked up the pace. As Shadow caught sight of Jet and Quillion, Mariah stayed back with a sweet smile on her muzzle watching them bound and leap with joy at the sight of their dear friends. 0 players like this post! Name: Fang | Location: Insurgent Territory | Mentions: (Indirect) Aramis, Quillion, Isa Trudging through the snow, his dense fur made it seem like the cold was nothing. It had been very uncomfortable being with the other scouts the last few days with the news that he had killed an Abolition pack dog at the borders. Quillion, he didn't know what was going on in his mind. He never knew what was going on in Quillion's mind, he was...unreadable to Fang. Aramis was a bit more clear, he knew she felt the same as he did. Except in a different way. Isa,,, seemed to simply not care much about it. It was an expected reaction, there was no denial in that. She was heartless, brutal, and cold. Although even the others were the least of his problems, it was the burden. He had seen the dog fall in front of his eyes, denying that it wasn't his fault. He told himself that it was their fault they were lurking around borders unaware, that it wasn't his doing, not his fault. Although something in his conscience told him that he was in the wrong. That he wasn't meant to be, he sinned, his fault, would he even be missed if he were gone? He made himself just as unreadable as he saw Quillion, he made his real emotions unnoticeable in his acts trying to keep up. He tried brushing the thoughts away, although they seemed to want to stay much longer than he'd like them to. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Rye | Abolition Warrior | Location: Abolition Border. Mentions: Aramis, Shatter, Stixx. As Aramis peered back over her shoulder towards him, Rye took a few respectful steps backwards and plopped onto his haunches. He watched them quietly. His honey eyes intently following them as they spoke to one another. The thought passed through his mind that he could easily walk away, but this situation seemed too interesting to abandon. Perhaps he would even be able to speak to them again once they had settled this. Rye's spirits lifted a bit as the thin loner spoke up. The friendliness in their tone made his tail begin to lightly thump against the ground. "I was merely moving on to a place a little while away that is not in either of your territories." It could have easily been a lie, and he was fully aware. He quickly shoved any doubt away and tilted his head as he awaited Aramis' response. He personally would have let them off scot free. Not without exchanging a bit of banter, of course. She wasn't in Abolition's land, however, and Rye wasn't entirely sure how he would handle the situation if it turned amiss. There wasn't much he could do without causing more trouble for his pack. Quillon | Insurgent Warrior | Location: Insurgent Territory. Mentions: Jet, Shadow, Mariah. Quillon took a step back, his expression still happy but quickly growing worried. The two legs? Did he mean the odd, hairless, creatures that lived on the edges of Chernobyl helped him? He had only seen them once in his life, but he couldn't imagine they could work magic like this. The entire idea puzzled him and made his head hurt. "Are you- Are you going to stay with them?" His gaze shifted nervously to the collar hanging from Jet's neck and his heart sunk. His mind suddenly wandered back to Insurgent, to their sister. They had both been gone all this time, how was she? A pang of guilt ran through him. He had left her behind with Isa, there was no telling how she felt right now. He didn't have long to reflect, however. He was jolted out of his thoughts as a dark-furred canine came bursting through the snow towards them. He was genuinely disoriented at first, his posture stiff as he placed his thin frame between the possible assailant and his brother. "I'm so happy we found you guys!!!!" It didn't take long for the dog's voice and features to sink in. Ah, they were familiar, of course. His tail began to wag as well, slowly at first, until it matched the same enthusiasm as Shadow's. He offered both Mariah and the wolfdog a sheepish smile and relaxed his demeanor. He wasn't entirely sure what to say. Should he apologize? "It's good to see you both." He finally spoke to the pair, his voice tired and ears drooping forwards. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Name:: Shadow | Location: Insurgent Territory | Mentions: Quillion, Jet, Mariah Shadows tail continued to wag as they nuzzled Quillion's cheek, forgetting themselves for a moment in their excitement. "It's good to see you too. I was so scared we had lost you...." Suddenly they were fighting back tears. "I-I was so scared you had left the pack because of me.... I was terrified that you were going to have been gone and I wouldn't have gotten to tall you... how I feel..." Their voice trailed off with a sniffle. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Aramis | Insurgent Scout | Location: Insurgent Border Mentions: Rye, Shatter, Stixx (Directly) "I was merely moving on to a place a little while away that is not in either of your territories." Her friendly tone did little to ease Aramis as she stared back at the opposing dame with a gaze as equally intense as her own. The broad is quite bold considering the condition she was in. Aramis thought, swiping her tongue around her jaws once again. The spotted dame wasn't anticipating a fight to break out quite yet, it was just a simple observation. She'd rather not, in all honesty. The loner was just skin and bones, she'd have a terrible disadvantage if it came to a quarrel. Ramis contemplated the loners words with a small huff, eyes narrowing against wolf-dogs shivering frame suspiciously. like Rye, Ramis was aware that what the dame claimed could be a lie, and in fact, a small part of her believed it was. A dog as skinny as her would be desperate enough to go anywhere for food, even pack territories, she knew that. With a brow furrowing, the scout finally spoke. "Is that so? Well then you can keep doing that right now, if that really was your purpose." She growled out, watching her carefully for her next move. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Shatter| Loner| Insurgent/Abolition Borders| Mentions- Aramis, Rye, Stixx 'Is that so? Well you can keep doing that right now, if that really was your purpose.' She stood her ground as the spotted dog spoke. She was so hungry, her mind felt like it was blurring. When was her last meal? Shatter couldn't remember. She was too cautious to hunt directly in pack territory, but too scared to venture too far away. She blinked hard a few times, looking at the dogs around her in an odd, unsettling way. She stumbled, shook her head violently, then clawed at the snow. When she looked up, there was something... wrong about her eyes. They seemed to lack all sense, consumed by the irrational need for food. And in this case, the starving dame saw the dogs in front of her as prey. She lunged forward suddenly at the spotted dog with her teeth bared in a snarl. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Quillon | Insurgent Warrior | Location: Insurgent Territory. Mentions: Jet, Shadow, Mariah. "If I wanted to stay you think I'd be here?" A rush of relief hit the spotted canine as Jet dismissed his statement. It was quickly recoiled though, filling him with worry. He wasn't sure if he was entirely happy with his brother rejoining Insurgent, it might be best that he did stay away. Especially with how Isa would react when he himself returned, that was something he had been dreading since he left. He swallowed hard, taking in a deep breath. His anxiety was quickly relieved and forgotten, however. He accepted Shadow's nudge from their nose and dipped his head slightly. "You couldn't have gotten rid of me that easily." He reassured with a small laugh, glancing up as they spoke of their fears. "I didn't leave because of you.. I didn't plan on leaving at all- I just." He didn't know what to say, or do. He was still just as stuck as he was a week ago. He could feel his heart ripping in two as he glanced around at the other three dogs. He no longer felt like Insurgent was his home, but he also didn't feel at home without his companions. "I'm not sure if I should go back." The words were heavy, and he stared down at the ice-covered pavement as he spoke. "I'm not sure if I can. Not with the way things are, Isa will-" He trailed off, suddenly stiffening his posture once again. His gaze grew cold and distant, somewhat filled with a determined air. No. He couldn't leave, Insurgent was his family. As much as he hated being under the reign of Isa, he would simply make things change if she wouldn't yield. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Aramis | Insurgent Scout | Location: Insurgent Border Mentions: Rye, Shatter, Stixx (Directly) Confusion flickered on the dames face as the other made no move after her words. She didn't make a move to walk away, nor did she say anything back in response. She heard what she said right? She should have, right? Or was Aramis simply not loud enough? She gave a sideways glance over to Rye quizzically, as if he also had a clue on what was happening, before turning her gaze back to the other. Her gaze was met with the dame losing her balance and stumbling, Aramis thinking she was about to collapse, before the back and white dame would fix Aramis and Rye with a predacious stare. She recognized the look all too well, and when she saw it, Aramis's lips would instinctively curl away from her teeth, her lean frame instantly tensing just as the dame launched herself forward. And in that moment, time seemed to slow by just a few heartbeats, Aramis's body suddenly moving without her even thinking about it. Instead of moving away from her assailants path, Aramis would lunge forward as well, snow billowing up in a cloud in her wake. Her shoulder would collide against the dames chest, her weight and the force of impact sending them both forward. Jaws suddenly agape, Aramis would bit down on the side of the maidens neck, her grip enough to draw blood but not enough to cause significant damage, before her skull would reel to the side, Shatter now half thrown, and half falling to the ground. The two would land with a heavy thud, snow crumbling underneath their weight. Ara gathered her bearings quickly, diving forward her jaws hanging wide open again as she intended to forward her attack. Before her jaws could reach their target however, Ara snapped backed to reality it seemed, holding herself back so that her jaws snapped shut dangerously close to the maidens throat. Instead, a paw shot out to pin the dame down as best she could, her paw planting itself just below her chin. As she did, her lips curled back once again, a loud, menacing snarl tearing from her throat as she did so. "Calm yourself you stupid cur!" Hot air billowed out of her maw in a cloud, spit flying out at the others face, her copper hued eyes blazing with hot anger. Ara was unsure if her word would reach Shatter, but she sure hoped they did. Even though the dumb cur started it all, it felt unfair and wrong to Aramis to actually harm the other unless she had no choice. If her assailant was just as healthy as Aramis was it would have been a different story. And if the dame still didn't back down? Then so be it, she did what she could to rationalize with her. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 08/09/21 @ 01:16:04 by Skippy Brambles Bon Vaunen (#188943) |

.|Stixx | Insurgent - Abolition Border| Mentions: Shatter, Aramis, Rye (Slightly direct)|. Stixx stood up slowly wondering why the dame had bolted so suddenly, then realised she had a attacked them. Shatter| Loner| Insurgent/Abolition Borders| Mentions- Aramis, Rye, Stixx Shatter let out an infuriated howl as she felt a shoulder slam into her chest. She snapped her teeth in fury, but felt the jaws bite into her neck and whip to the side. She half slid across the ice, her claws flailing. She felt a paw on her throat, and thrashed, but doing so blocked her airway, and she went limp, common sense braking through the hunger-crazed rage. She huffed, her chest heaving. βCalm yourself you stupid cur!β She dimly heard the spotted dame snarl. She shook her head wildly and lurched her head forward, biting at the other dogs paws before struggling to breath and falling down again. She growled. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Name: Shadow | Location: Insurgent Territory | Mentions: Quillion, Jet, Mariah Shadow sniffled again as Quill spoke to them, taking a step back to give him some more space, even as their heart lurched at the sudden distance in his eyes. "Hey.. It'll be alright, we'll deal with Isa. Mariah and I'll come back with you, and we'll all deal with her together, she didn't know we left either. I told Slate after he admitted he was my brother, but I didn't want anything to do with Isa at that moment so I just left." They were clearly holding themself back from nuzzling him again, visibly shaking with restraint. "I promise, you won't be facing her alone." They looked over at Jet, who didn't seem to recognize them, neither of you will." They took a deep breath before fully turning to face Jet from Quillion's side, their tail wagging slightly. "Hello Jet, I'm not sure we were ever properly introduced. My name is Shadow. I'm the beta, and a good friend of Quill's." Their eyes darted back to Quill for a moment as they said that before looking back to Jet with a smile and a quickly wagging tail. "I hope we can be friends as well." They took a cautious step forwards, trying their best not to spook or upset him. "May Mariah and I take a look at that contraption on your back? We have experience with two-legs and would like to ensure that it won't be dangerous to anyone else." Name: Mariah | Location: Insurgent Territory | Mentions: Jet, Shadow, Quillion Mariah is doing her best to get a look at the wheels attached to Jet without getting closer to him than he may feel comfortable with after being with two-legs. "Hello Jet, my name is Mariah. I was hoping to become the healer for our pack, but someone else who was more skilled took the position, so I am essentially a substitute when they are not available." She took a hesitant step forward as Shadow spoke. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Name: Shadow | Location: Insurgent Territory | Mentions: Jet, Quillion, Mariah Shadow dropped onto their belly at his harsh words, tucking their tail under them. "I apologize Jet, I didn't mean to make you upset. I've seen wheels like these before on dogs, and they can tangle tails and paws and cause injury to others." They crawled backwards back from him, giving him more space to feel comfortable. "I didn't mean to imply that you would purposefully bring harm to others, merely that the device attached your back legs may be dangerous if we are unable to understand it. Please forgive me." Rye | Abolition Warrior | Location: Abolition Border. Mentions: Aramis, Shatter, Stixx. He had sat quietly by, somewhat confused by the loner's demeanor. As the interaction went south he was quite stunned and continued to sit there wide-eyed for a moment. What in the world has gotten into that dog? Surely they aren't in their right mind. At the snarl he jumped to his paws, sending a puff of snow flying as he did a frenzied stamp of his feet. Spinning in a circle, he wasn't sure what to do about them, or himself. Should he help? Should he leave? His body hopped forwards, his fear of crossing the border now gone. The heavy snow slowed his approach but he still rushed to the side of the quarreling dogs rather quickly. "Has she gone mad?" He asked, his ears pinning back. He eyed the wolfdog curiously as she snapped at the air and writhed around before going still. A yelp made his ears tilt back and he was suddenly aware of the other wolfdog lying on the ground. He approached Stixx carefully and nudged their temple with his nose, trying to get them to focus on him. "Are you alright?" His voice was concerned, and his expression soft as he looked over the dazed dog. They seemed dizzied, and possibly sick or injured. "Does your pack have a healer?" He asked calmly, his gaze shifting rapidly between the two dogs lying on the ground. "I think both of them could use one." He suggested, focus now shifting back to the spotted female. Quillon | Insurgent Warrior | Location: Insurgent Territory. Mentions: Jet, Shadow, Mariah. "I promise, you won't be facing her alone." He didn't know if he should be comforted by the words. He was worried for their safety as well, and Quillon wasn't about to let anyone step in and take the brunt of his own punishment. He opened his muzzle but didn't have time to retort before Shadow had stepped forwards and introduced themselves to Jet. His muscles became quite stiff as the beta and subordinate addressed the device attached to his back end. "We have experience with two-legs and would like to ensure that it won't be dangerous to anyone else." He immediately knew that the statement wouldn't go over well. At Jet's growl, Quillon's hackles raised and he stepped forward. He blocked his brother in a protective fashion from the other two canines and gave them both a long gaze of warning. He knew internally that they would cause no harm to Jet, but he had always been instinctively protective of the dog. "You're not a danger, Jet." He comforted, turning towards him and nudging his brother's shoulder with his nose. "-and you don't have to be looked over if you don't want to. I know it's going to take some time to get used to.. everything." He offered the other spotted dog a soft nod of his head, hoping to calm the situation before it got worse. 0 players like this post!
