This RP is closed and has been remade here: LINK A feminine, monotone voice echoes through the halls of a suburban family home, "An estimated 250 dogs live at the plant itself, 225 in the city of Chernobyl, and hundreds more roam around, for a total of more than 1,000, according to SPCA International. Wolves and the need for food have driven the dogs from wooded areas surrounding the plant into the Exclusion Zone." Suddenly, a sharper female voice cuts in. "Don't watch something so depressing, sweetie. The puppies are fine." The screen goes black. setting music The city is picturesque from the television screen. Though living amongst the crumbling, overgrown, radioactive buildings is another hell entirely. Dogs whose ancestors were abandoned by their masters in order to escape the explosion generations ago still remain here to this day, too far into the Exclusion Zone to be saved by any humans residing outside of Chernobyl. Many have been born with birth defects, sometimes visible but more often affecting their minds, organs and lifespans. Two major packs have risen out of the dust, Abolition and Insurgent. The packs have always been at odds but due to the encroachment of wolves and low resources, space is low and tempers are at an all time high. Can they come together to overcome the odds or will their own greed tear them down?
Current season: Early Winter. [Frigid temperatures. Long nights, short and dark days.] Current major events: Time Skip!! 9/5 Two Abolition dogs have been killed by Insurgent pack members. This has caused unrest in both packs. A massive snow storm has swept over Chernobyl, bringing an early winter and a shortage of supplies.

Aramis | Insurgent Scout | Location: Insurgent Border Mentions: Rye, Shatter, Stixx, Fang (Directly) "What did I do? Aramis rid the blood that had not washed off of her teeth yet with a swipe of her tongue, staring at the other dame incredulously. She still shielded Rye away from her, her stance wide. "What did you do??" She repeated, her voice heavy with mocking hostility. Did this broad really not remember? "You attacked him, that's what you did." She spat, folded ears pressed firmly against her skull. "Us. You attacked us. Have you gone mad, or do you just have a death wish? She corrected herself quickly, leering at the wolfdog suspiciously, an angry glow still present in her gaze. Aramis turned her head just enough to glance at Rye, frowning at how frightened the brute looked. Maybe it was a good thing she jumped to intercept Shatters attack, poor thing looks traumatized. Her eyes would drift back to the wolf-dog again, but this time, lowering down to the dames paws. One of which, the one Aramis got hold of, was angled awkwardly, lolling around with each movement the dame made. It was undeniably fractured, and Aramis winced at the sight of it, as if she felt the pain herself. Aramis just meant to throw her to the side, not to break her paw, but the rush she had felt must have made her actions more vigorous than she intended. It was then she became aware of another dogs presence, her gaze pinning onto another pale furred brute, standing rigidly with a conflicted look on his features. Fang. Aramis eyed him a little closely, if not warily, before her posture would relax slightly. Well, if this loner tried to do something else at least they'd have a little bit more support. If Fang would offer his help, that is. She wasn't so confident that he would, though. Why is he just standing there, anyway? Noticing Rye taking a long stride, she'd lift a paw and stick it in his path, signalling for him to not get any closer. The loner could still be a threat, and considering the fact he was on their territory with Fang perfectly able to see that, it wasn't wise. She didn't even know how to treat the abolition brute now that Fang was here, either. It was already bad enough that an Abolition dog was on their territory with her making no fuss about it. Turning to look at Stixx, who still lay on the ground, she made a small huff of concern before turning to Fang. "You could make yourself of better use if you're not just standing there." She said curtly, nudging her nose towards the rottweiler mix. "Can you try to help up Stixx? I don't think he can stand, not sure what happened to him." She said, peering at the timid brute's face more closely. Aramis figured he fell and hit his head, after noticing a small trickle of blood coming down from his forehead. 0 players like this post! I wonder what he's doing out here.... Likaen could feel his ears warming at the thought of Rye and his gorgeous golden coat. Maybe I should go check on him..... .|Stixx | Abolition - Insurgent Border| Mentions: Likaen, Aramis, Rye, Shatter|. Stixx groaned again. Now catching a sniff of Likaen, he had a quite sweet scent, one whiff and you could recognise them for your whole 1-20 dog years. He groaned once more rolling onto his back and looking at the dark grey sky. Soon it would be night. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Rye | Abolition Warrior | Location: Abolition Border. Mentions: Aramis, Fang, Shatter, Stixx. Rye paused at Aramis' paw jutted out to stop him. He obeyed, glancing past the female towards the brute who still seemed to be frozen, standing a distance away from them. "You attacked him, that's what you did." The sentence made him snap his attention back towards the loner, his eyes studying their neglected frame and mangled paw. He felt a tinge of guilt, "I don't think she's a threat anymore." He offered quietly, his tail wagging apologetically in preparation for a retort. "-If it would cause problems to take her back to your pack, we have a healer in Abolition who could look at her." He added hesitantly, his honey gaze shifting nervously to meet that of Aramis. The groan from Stixx made him circle back towards the wolfdog, but he stayed in place. The spotted canine had already ordered for her pack mate to see to him, and Rye wanted to bring as little attention to himself as possible. Quillon | Insurgent Warrior | Location: Insurgent Territory. Mentions: Jet, Shadow, Mariah. "Please don't make me order you Quill, but I want to stay with you." Something about the word order sat with him wrong, it was possible that it was just because he was tired. More likely, it was because it reminded him of Isa. It made something inside his heart twist wildly and he couldn't help but for the hair along his back to rise. He stuffed away the urge to bare his teeth but continued to stare intensely at Shadow, his demeanor growing rigid and challenging. "I won't be leaving home. I'll be here, in Insurgent, until the morning." He replied, meaning for it to come out in a soothing manor but it only sounded forced. He drew in a deep breath to calm himself, but an ever-apparent pounding in his head egged him on to become even more combative. Shadow is your beta, and your friend. Don't do this. He took a long step back, as if to distancing himself from a threat. In this case, however. He was the threat and Shadow was the one he was trying to protect. "I will see you in the morning." He spoke once again, giving Shadow an apologetic gaze down his muzzle. "I'm sorry. This will be the last time I leave." His words were suddenly much softer and hinted at something vague. He turned away curtly, a look of determination settling over his odd-hued eyes as he began to trudge away. The cold was suddenly setting in, biting through his thin coat. All he wanted was to get some rest, but he couldn't quite suppress the static building in his chest. It was a mixture of anxiety, remorse, and anticipation. It hurt him to leave them all behind like this, but he needed to settle this on his own terms. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Name: Shadow | Location: Insurgent Territory | Mentions: Quillion Shadow sat up, watching as Quillion turned away from them. Their eyes filled with tears at the sight of his retreating form, but they hurriedly blinked them away so they wouldn't miss when he finally faded from view. They took a deep breath before tilting their head back and letting out a soft, almost sweet wolf-howl. It drifted on the winds, low enough that only Quillion would pick it out. I'll be waiting for you, my Blade. Come home safely, on your own terms Their voice was warm and slow like honey, adding to the love sent with that howl. Once it was done, they continued to watch him until he became a speck in the distance. Then they set their paws towards home. Likaen | Abolition-Insurgent Border | Stixx, Rye, Shatter, Aramis Likaen saw Shatter first. Her dark coat and her twisted paw. Next his eyes snagged on Aramis, with her spots and her protectiveness. Finally he saw Rye. Golden sunshiney Rye. His tail started wagging faster until he realized what was going on. Then he started loping towards Rye, watchful of the other dogs. He has found Rye to be a good judge of character, so he trusts the fact that he doesn't appear worried. "Rye, are you alright? What's going on?" 0 players like this post! Like? Shatter| Loner| Insurgent/Abolition Borders| Mentions- Aramis, Rye, Stixx, Likaen Shatter shook her head. 'I didn't- I..' she stopped, her eyes bleak. 'I didnt mean to!' she finally burst out. She hopped a step back at the sight of Likaen. 'It just happens- I'm sorry.' She felt hollow all the way to her bones. It had almost been a disaster again. 'Why do you think-' she snapped her jaws shut again and turned her head away. She couldn't meet any of their eyes, watch them realise her monstrosity. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Quillon | Insurgent Warrior | Location: Insurgent Territory. Mentions: Jet, Shadow, Mariah. Quillon stopped his gate as Jet wheeled to his side and placed his chin against his back. He cast a soft gaze towards the other canine and turned to face him. "I'll be back soon, check in on Aramis for me." He assured with a tired smile, "I'll be fine." He added, gently nudging Jet away with his nose. With that he hesitantly stepped away and continued his trek. It wasn't until he out of their line of sight that he slowed down. The chilled breeze carried the mellow, pleasant howl to him. His head tilted slightly at the noise, his damaged ears trying to make out the words. He knew immediately that it was Shadow, and he stood there pondering the noise for a moment. It made a feeling of regret settle on his shoulders, the static eating at his stomach growing louder as their voice faded away into nothing. He eventually tilted his own head back and responded in his own, long, hound-like bay. The sound was mournful, uncertain. Wait for me. He hoped to portray the words, but he was much less eloquent with this form of speaking. He stood there in silence for a long moment as the cry echoed through the air and eventually faded away. He shook his flopped ears and began to trudge down the icy path once again, disappearing into the city. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 09/09/21 @ 16:05:38 by Sleep π± (#44085) |

Shadow | Insurgent Territory | Jet, Mariah Shadow turned to look at Jet and opened their mouth to speak, but Quillion's howl cut them off. They lifted their head once more, a single word flowing out, a touch of joy pitching the howl slightly higher than their previous one. They hoped he would hear it. Always They turned to Jet once more, a determined light coming into their eyes. "Come on Jet, let's go home." Shadow picked Mariah up by the scruff of her neck, carrying her as they started home, 0 players like this post! Like? |

Demesu | Loner | Location: Outside the territories | Mentions: Fiorello (Indirectly) Demesu walked at a slow pace, obviously not eager to go anywhere anytime soon. Continuing past buildings and deeper into the city, the large brute trudge came to a sudden halt. His hair pricked at his neck and his body soon became stiff, it felt as he was being watched. The horrifying notion chilled him to the core, making his breathing short and quick. "Someone or something is watching me, no hopefully not something." He inhaled sharply, his eyes widened in fear. "No, no that would be bad. If it's someone they probably won't bother me, I'm much too big for that. O-oh wait, if they're watching, they're probably wondering why I stopped, I should probably face them. Yes! That'll scare them away, that'll work perfectly... I wish mother was here. Demesu rambled under his breath, the idiotic speech bringing slightly more confidence to the large mutt. With a deep breath, the spotted dog finally turned to look in the direction of his possible stalker. His face was completely changed, a fake showing of anger and disgust clear on his features, his bright eyes standing out against his darker face coloring. As he looked around, Demesu felt a world of embarrassment fall upon his back as his eyes landed upon nothing. He couldn't see a thing around the buildings, not even a mouse. Whatever had been looking at him must've been a ghost or hadn't existed at all, whichever it was it simply meant the mutt could get on with his life. "I feel so stupid." He muttered before continuing on his way, not knowing the pale dog from before was hiding in the shadows. Kahno | Abolition Warrior | Location: Abolition Territory --> Abolition/Insurgent Border| Mentions: Shatter, Aramis, Rye, Stixx, Likaen He huffed deeply into the crisp air, warm breath breaking through the cold. How long had he slept, just how much had he missed already? A simple thought was all it took to shake the older dog fully awake. "Too long." He muttered to himself, his lumbering pace picking up slightly. He should've gotten up earlier, hunted a bit, maybe brought something home for his sister. "I didn't see her." The voice came out in a gruff tone, the sighthound not meaning it to sound that way. Though what did it matter, no one was there to tell him off for it, even if they did he likely wouldn't listen. "Should've been a scout, maybe I could explore more. Get out a little bit." Kahno spoke a little bit, his snout rising to the sky to look past the tall buildings. The open-air breezed softly past him, the buildings stunting the gust. It was times like this where he was at peace, no angry voices, no other dogs, just silence. A silence that didn't last very long at all. Oh, of course, he'd walked too far and fallen right into an argument, no a fight? Of all things to walk into, it just had to be this. Kahno stood at a far distance, his ears straining to pick up their speech, his right eye twitching in annoyance as he watched, hoping none had seen him arrive. "Just walk away, you're not needed here. Just let it happen, no one will know." Kahno grumbled to himself, before turning to walk away, hoping to escape the distant encounter. 0 players like this post! Like? |
