This RP is closed and has been remade here: LINK A feminine, monotone voice echoes through the halls of a suburban family home, "An estimated 250 dogs live at the plant itself, 225 in the city of Chernobyl, and hundreds more roam around, for a total of more than 1,000, according to SPCA International. Wolves and the need for food have driven the dogs from wooded areas surrounding the plant into the Exclusion Zone." Suddenly, a sharper female voice cuts in. "Don't watch something so depressing, sweetie. The puppies are fine." The screen goes black. setting music The city is picturesque from the television screen. Though living amongst the crumbling, overgrown, radioactive buildings is another hell entirely. Dogs whose ancestors were abandoned by their masters in order to escape the explosion generations ago still remain here to this day, too far into the Exclusion Zone to be saved by any humans residing outside of Chernobyl. Many have been born with birth defects, sometimes visible but more often affecting their minds, organs and lifespans. Two major packs have risen out of the dust, Abolition and Insurgent. The packs have always been at odds but due to the encroachment of wolves and low resources, space is low and tempers are at an all time high. Can they come together to overcome the odds or will their own greed tear them down?
Current season: Early Winter. [Frigid temperatures. Long nights, short and dark days.] Current major events: Time Skip!! 9/5 Two Abolition dogs have been killed by Insurgent pack members. This has caused unrest in both packs. A massive snow storm has swept over Chernobyl, bringing an early winter and a shortage of supplies.

Name: Shadow | Location: Insurgent Territory | Mentions: Jet, Quillion, Mariah Their fluffy ears started to tilt forwards again, but they remained in their apologetic stance, fearing to move to much, lest they startle him. "...please, forgive me......" their whispered plea was directed towards both Quillion and Jet now as Shadow felt the stabbing pain of jealousy. They wanted to be so close to Quill that he would protect them without thought, that he would want to protect them. As these thoughts were going through their head their gaze lingered on Quillion, but they quickly averted it so that he wouldn't hopefully see their pain. Name: Mariah | Location: Insurgent Territory | Mentions: Shadow, Jet, Quillion Mariah decided to hang back and let Shadow handle the situation after Jet's outburst. She felt that since Shadow knew the two of them better, they would know what to do. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Shatter| Loner| Insurgent/Abolition Borders| Mentions- Aramis, Rye, Stixx The hunger-crazed dog's breath rattled in her chest as she kicked her back paws, skidding forward on the icy snow into a tree with a thump. She struggled to her paws with a growl, her fur bristling. She stared at the two dogs in front of her, calculating. She shook her head violently again, then took a step forward with her jaws agape. After a moment, she stared at Rye in an unsettling way, before launching herself at him with a vicious snarl. 0 players like this post! Like? Name: Jade | Location: Abolition Territory | Mentions: (Indirect) Mavy, Ferrer, Reo, Shiloh Jade was scouting throughout the territory for a bit of productivity, it wasn't her job, but if she was able to find something to hunt would be very great for the pack. It was hard to focus, her mind was on a lot of things as delta. There...was a lot to do, but it was the thing which greatly held her back. Mavy. The day she heard of the pitbull mix's death from Ferrer, Reo, and Shiloh she was extremely saddened, for a loss of a pack member, and the loss of a mother for her puppies. It was a burden for her, she was at the camp, she should've told Mavy to stay if she had spotted her. It was all too unfortunate. But other than all the sorrow and grieving, it was a bitter anger. For only such a cruel dog would kill another dog, who was a mother, and of course, it was an Insurgent pack dog. She wanted revenge deep down, although she kept those thoughts away. As at least the puppies were doing fine so far with the lack of a mother. Bingo! There was a rabbit nearby, this wouldn't feed them very much, but any scrap of meat they could get their paws on would be greatly helpful. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Name: Slate | Location: Insurgent Border | Mentions: Jade Slate was patrolling the border, watching for prey or other dogs. As he neared a spot known for rabbit burrows, he caught sight of one gently hopping around, sniffing at the snow. It was probably looking for lunch, not looking to become it, but oh well. He loped towards it before leaning into a hunting crouch and stalking the rest of the way forwards, not noticing as he passed over the border into Abolition territory. 0 players like this post! Aramis | Insurgent Scout | Location: Insurgent Border Mentions: Rye, Shatter, Stixx (Directly) Successfully weaving her paw away from the snapping jaws of the other dame, her head swiveling around to see the abolition brute leap over the border, rushing to Aramis's side as she pinned the other. She fixed the brute with a conflicted look, unsure if whether or not she should have a problem with him or not. After a moment she'd shake her head, turning to look at the crazed dog below her. Aramis once again trusted that he wasn't going to do anything, and plus, it was better to focus on Shatter than anything else. The pressure she put on the dame's throat never changed as her writhing and thrashing ceased as her ears perked at the sound of his voice. "Has she gone mad?" Aramis would glance at Shatter before she'd peer over at Rye again. "Doesn't it look like it??" She'd growl out in a tone that came out far more bitter than what she meant. She felt a small pang of guilt from the tone she directed towards him, a small sigh escaping her before she would speak again in a softer, more forgiving tone. "I don't knowβ she's not frothing at the mouth so that's a good thing." The spotted dame made the rare mistake of loosening her grip on her assailant, Shatter's back paws battering at her belly painfully. The air would be knocked out of Aramis for a few heartbeats, her paws almost skidding underneath her before she'd regain her balance, the other crashing into a tree. Aramis believed the wolfdog was going to flee, after her previous attack had failed her. Or at least she hoped so. This belief was proved wrong however, as she then launched herself at Rye instead, who had his back turned momentarily as he tended to Stixx. Alarm sent her eyes flying wide open, and all her previous guilt about the thought of harming the other vanished at once as her paws sent her flying out at Shatter. Her aim at the dames throat was off, so much so that her jaws were instead closing in on one of the wolfdog's forepws, but Ara took the chance anyway, sharp ivories sinking in with little hesitation. Aramis missed the awry sensation of something crackling against her teeth, an with another vigorious lurch of her head she flung the dame off course as much as she could. Even though Rye was more robust than her and could easily protect himself, Aramis would still move to position herself in front of him in a protective manner, blocking Shatters path if she tried to make a smilar move on him, which strangely, Aramis found herself not wanting rather strongly. Her copper hued eyes would blaze with genuine animosity now, seemingly more enraged now that the loner tried to throw herself at Rye than she was at being attacked herself. The fur starting from around her shoulders riding to just before her tail her raised in an Isa-like fashion as she leered at the other, her jaws shutting with an audible snap after the thunderous bay that erupted from her. "Make one move like that again and I'll tear your throat out." Her words dripped with nothing but malice. With the state Ara was in, its a surprise she didn't just continue her attack on the other. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Shatter| Loner| Insurgent/Abolition Borders| Mentions- Aramis, Stixx, Rye Shatter felt something sink into her forepaw, yanking her back violently. She felt a bolt of white-hot agony and shrieked as she was hurled into another tree. She struggled to her paws, one of them in absolutely mind-numbing pain. She whined, taking a shuddering step back. The haze cleared form her eyes. What...? She, blinked hard, then stared at the other dogs in horror. 'Oh no...' she whimpered, holding her broken paw carefully. 'What did I do??' She demanded, her eyes pleading. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Demesu | Location: Outside the Territories | Mentions: Sana The crunch of snow echoed in the silence, heavy paws pushing through the white ice. A thin rabbit hung from his jaws, the scent alone making him drool. Demesu pushed his way through the heavy door nearly falling as it swung open. Sigh. At least no one saw that, the thought pushed itself into his mind as he made his way inside the shelter. Blue eyes fell upon the smaller heap of fur he called "Mother", her gentle breathing clearly showing that she still slept. Making his way over, Demesu was silent as he lay his recent hunt down for her, retreating soon after. He'd have to go out again for himself if he planned on not starving. The simple thought was tiring, to say the least, though it had to be done. Demesu forced his body to leave the warmer and homely shelter, straying back into the dense cold air and deeper into the still unknown wild. Kahno | Location: Abolition Camp --> Abolition Territory | Mentions: N/A "Wake up, stop being lazy!" The grating voice yelled in his head, forcing his eyes open. Kahno strained as his long body rose from a deep slumber, and grumble deep in his throat. Sleep still heavy in his eyes, the sighthound stumbled as he made his way out of the makeshift den, his thin body nearly tumbling as he finally exited the warm spot. It took the lanky dog a moment to adjust to his surroundings, his eyes searching the camp for the owner of the voice only to fall upon nothing. "Must've been the wind." He grumbled softly, before forcing his legs to move. "Should go an' hunt." He spoke louder this time, though only to himself. Kahno slowly found his way out of the camp, a slow trek bring him further out into the territory. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Name: Fang | Location: Abolition/Insurgent borders | Mentions: (Direct) Aramis, Rye, Shatter Ah yes. After a tiring walk, he had arrived at the ends of their territory. The border between Abolition and Insurgent. Around the area where he had killed that Abolition dog, seeing them fall in front of his eyes as the blood was splattered. The memory for he wished to forget, maybe reset. Just as he was about to get lost in his thoughts, the bolting scent of..Aramis, an Abolition dog, and a loner. What was she doing, rushing to the scene as his paws seemed to want to trip over themselves. And laid before his eyes, the two strange dogs seemed to be in quite a situation. Fang didn't know how to react, the more he hesitated would be dangerous. He took a step, why wasn't he acting immediately? He seemed to be frozen, not able to move. For what was he to do? Name: Jade | Location: Abolition Territory | Mentions: (Direct) Slate The scent of the rabbit was nearby, although she picked up a new scent from a distance. An Insurgent pack dog. Just as she caught the scent, she immediately forgot about the rabbit and was infuriated. What were the Insurgent dogs doing in their territory? To seek more bloodshed? Start a war? It was risky to attack the invader, as she was alone and didn't know of what strength they were. She crouched low, they were definitely nearby. She prayed to have one of the other dogs find her, join her, help her. Although it was just a dream. She rushed in, trying to at least get them knocked over and allow her the upper hand. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Rye | Abolition Warrior | Location: Abolition Border. Mentions: Aramis, Fang, Shatter, Stixx. "Doesn't it look like it??" The harshness of her tone made his left ear tilt back slightly but did little to faze him. He was already facing away from the two, entirely focused on tending to Stixx who still seemed to be in a state of stupor. "I don't knowβ she's not frothing at the mouth so that's a good thing." "That is a good sign." He chimed in agreement, his tail swishing slightly behind him as he continued to fuss over the wolfdog. A scraping noise, a thud, and a loud snarl sounded behind him in rapid succession. Rye hadn't had enough time to turn around and grasp the situation before Shatter had launched herself towards him. He instinctively flinched away at the sound, his body preparing for the charge long before his brain could properly catch up. The attack never came, however. He opened his eyes and swiveled around, just in time to see a spotted coat come flying between the loner and himself. He grimaced as Aramis' jaws snapped shut around the dog's appendage with a sickening crack. The sound made a chill run down his spine and he suddenly began to feel a bit queasy. He took a few shaky steps backwards towards Stixx, shielding the dazed canine in the same way that Aramis was guarding him. His honey eyes dashed between the crazed loner and his savior, unsure of what to do. Aramis' sudden change in body language made him sink away, his long, golden fur all but hiding Stixx behind it. It was then that another figure caught his eye, a husky-type looking canine. They seemed frozen, staring intently at the scene. His ears slid backwards on his head, casting a worried gaze back towards the two clashing dogs. What am I doing? He was suddenly very, very, aware that he was in Insurgent's territory. The pack who had killed Mavy merely a week ago. He had heard stories of their leader, but didn't particularly believe them. Still, if they were to be true what would they do if they found him here? More importantly, what would they do to Aramis and her packmate? His eyes snapped back to the loner as they finally spoke. "What did I do??'" His heart sank at the confusion in their voice, almost causing the gentle dog to sob. He slowly lifted himself from his defensive position and took a long step towards the thin wolfdog, his expression full of worry. Quillon | Insurgent Warrior | Location: Insurgent Territory. Mentions: Jet, Shadow, Mariah. He sighed quietly as Jet stepped away and sunk to the ground, giving his brother a dispirited gaze as he himself also turned away. Quillon then turned back to Shadow and Mariah, watching as the smaller of the two stayed back. "He just needs time to adjust." He answered dejectedly, giving the two an apologetic pin of his ears. He was then aware of his guarding posture, slowly allowing himself to relax once more. He took a few steps, shaking the tension from his muscles before turning back to Shadow. "-and I'm sorry. I know you didn't mean to upset him." He added with a smile, though there wasn't much brightness in his eyes to match the gesture. He was worn out, tired. He wasn't entirely sure how much he had slept during the blizzard, if at all, and at this moment all he really wanted was a nap. Fiorello | Loner | Location: Insurgent territory - Outside the territories. Mentions: Demesu. His pale coat all but blended into the snow as he hopped through the banks almost as tall as himself. From his mouth hung a pair of plump rats, something he had slyly snatched from Insurgent during the early hours of morning. He wasn't particularly hungry, they were just insurance that he had planned to stash away for later. His biggest issue at the moment was the cold, biting, wind. It was ever present, annoying, painful. His fur was useless at keeping it out and he was far away from his nearest "den", having given the closest one away a week earlier to a pair of strays. He had passed by the abode many times during the snowstorm, curious to see if the family had made it, but not courageous enough to actually stop and check in. This time, however. It seemed there was life. He almost missed the dog's spotted coat all together as he rounded the corner of a building. It was a blur to him, and he was entirely focused on making a clean getaway with his meal. It took a moment, but he eventually noticed that there was movement. He instinctively froze and skittered away in a similar fashion to a frightened cat. He was originally afraid of it being a resident pack member, but as he mulled over the dog's features a creeping feeling of familiarity hit him. Oh yeah, I know this dog. He slowly stuck his pink nose back out, peeping around the rubble he had hidden behind. It was... Desmond? Debra? No. It was, Demesu. Of course. He shook his head slightly as the lovely name came to his mind, his flopped ears folding back comically. Despite knowing this canine, he wasn't particularly eager on greeting them. So he just stood there, still as a statue, and stared blankly. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Shatter| Loner| Insurgent/Abolition Borders| Mentions- Aramis, Stixx, Rye, Fang Shatter flinched away from the golden dog. 'Dont-' She limped a few steps back. 'Oh no.' she said again, her eyes full of horror. Her ears went flat. She tried to put her paw down but yanked it back up with a yelp. She didn't even seem angry that she had been injured, her expression was only an odd mixture of pain and remorse. She dropped her head, suddenly seeming like a very different dog. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 08/09/21 @ 20:02:20 by βMurderthistleβ (#230278) |

I just seem to upset everyone......" They rubbed a paw over their eyes, their body fully relaxing into the snow, their back paws splaying out to the side in a more comfortable position. "I'm useless at helping others... maybe we should've stayed home.... you don't seem to need our help...." Name: Mariah | Location: Insurgent Territory | Mentions: Shadow, Jet, Quillion Mariah tried to slowly approach Jet in a comforting fashion, however with the snow it ended up being less of a slow walk and more of a graceful hop. Name: Slate | Location: Abolition Territory | Mentions: Jade As the unknown dog slammed into him, Slate let out an unintentional growl and instinctively snapped at their shoulder, tearing the flesh down to the bone, before leaping back. He fights like a wolf, leap in, snap of teeth, leap out. With his opponent now injured and the taste of canine blood in his mouth, Slate came back to his senses. "I don't want to fight you. I was merely hunting a rabbit. I apologize for entering your territory." He backed off a step, his stance relaxing minutely. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Quillon | Insurgent Warrior | Location: Insurgent Territory. Mentions: Jet, Shadow, Mariah. Quillon gave Shadow a disheartened sigh and sat back on his haunches. "You're not upsetting anyone, everyone's on edge at the moment. It doesn't take much to set them off." His gaze was trained on something in the distance, his eyes half-lidded as he spoke. His tone wasn't soothing, if anything it sounded as if a parent were teaching a stern lesson to their pup. "you don't seem to need our help." He glanced down as their voice trailed off, his expression unreadable save for the furrowing of his eyebrows. "Looks can be deceiving." He answered, "I can't speak for Jet, but I appreciate you both coming along." He nodded to Mariah as well at this statement, letting his gaze linger away once again. His words were genuine, even so he could feel a pang of aggravation settling in his chest. It was mostly from the lack of sleep, but he was still a bit sore emotionally as well. He finally stood and shook the snow from his spotted coat, gazing down at Jet. "I don't plan on going back today." He sent his brother a troubled expression, studying him for a moment. "You should return home with them, Jet. I know Aramis would be overjoyed to see you." He slowly turned to address Shadow and Mariah once again. "I'm not ready yet. I need some rest and time to think by myself. I'll see you all tomorrow, in camp. That's a promise." His voice was friendly, but didn't give room for objection. His posture was stiff, his disheveled appearance doing little to dampen the uncharacteristic authoritative demeanor he had taken on. His eyes pierced into the other three dogs as he awaited an answer. 0 players like this post! Like? |
