This RP is closed and has been remade here: LINK A feminine, monotone voice echoes through the halls of a suburban family home, "An estimated 250 dogs live at the plant itself, 225 in the city of Chernobyl, and hundreds more roam around, for a total of more than 1,000, according to SPCA International. Wolves and the need for food have driven the dogs from wooded areas surrounding the plant into the Exclusion Zone." Suddenly, a sharper female voice cuts in. "Don't watch something so depressing, sweetie. The puppies are fine." The screen goes black. setting music The city is picturesque from the television screen. Though living amongst the crumbling, overgrown, radioactive buildings is another hell entirely. Dogs whose ancestors were abandoned by their masters in order to escape the explosion generations ago still remain here to this day, too far into the Exclusion Zone to be saved by any humans residing outside of Chernobyl. Many have been born with birth defects, sometimes visible but more often affecting their minds, organs and lifespans. Two major packs have risen out of the dust, Abolition and Insurgent. The packs have always been at odds but due to the encroachment of wolves and low resources, space is low and tempers are at an all time high. Can they come together to overcome the odds or will their own greed tear them down?
Current season: Early Winter. [Frigid temperatures. Long nights, short and dark days.] Current major events: Time Skip!! 9/5 Two Abolition dogs have been killed by Insurgent pack members. This has caused unrest in both packs. A massive snow storm has swept over Chernobyl, bringing an early winter and a shortage of supplies.

Shadow | Insurgent Territory | Aramis, Fiochmhar Shadow took off after Aramis, their long legs quickly eating up the distance between them. They easily kept pace with Aramis, keeping a respectful distance between them. "Do you think he left to find Ryker?" They shake their head slightly, their eyes fixed on the trail ahead. "No, I suggested that we leave her with the loner, and Quillion was understandably upset about that, but that wasn't why he left." Their eyes gloss over for a moment as memory grabs them by the snout. "He said that he wasn't sure he could come back with the way things are. He left before I could ask him what that meant." They rejoin the present world in time to hear the tail end of Slate's howl. Their brow furrowed in worry, but they didn't seem inclined to leave the current task. "Yes, that was Slate. That's not where the trouble is though.... My bad feeling is in the same direction as where Quill was going. Slate needs to be alone right now anyways. That wasn't a howl that invites questions." Their eyes lingered on the buildings in the direction of Slate even as their paws carried them past Aramis on Quillion's trail. A moment after, their eyes widened as they caught sight of a dog running full speed out of an alleyway. "Quill..! That was a loner! We need to find him!!" They quickened their pace, loping around the corner and almost crashing into an Abolition hound. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Fiochmhar| Insurgent Territory Borders| Mentions- Bates, Quillon, Shadow (Directly) Fioch heard paws thundering towards them and shrieked as someone almost barrelled into her. She leaped back with a panicked expression. Then she relaxed. 'Oh phew. I thought you were that loner again.' she sat down heavily. 'You gave me a heart attack.' she complained to the newcomer, taking a deep breath. 'Oh. Wait.' she realised and stood up again, taking a step back. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Aramis | Insurgent Scout | Location: Insurgent Border Mentions: Shadow, Fiochmar, Quillon(Directly) Slate(Indirectly) "Yes, that was Slate. That's not where the trouble is though.... My bad feeling is in the same direction as where Quill was going. Slate needs to be alone right now anyways. That wasn't a howl that invites questions." Aramis didn't bat an eye as Shadow walked past her, still looking at the direction that the howl came from for a few moments. Something about his voice sounds off, though. She wanted to say, looking conflicted. It sounded s if it was coming from the Abolition-Insurgent border as well. Still, it wasn't too much of a concern, so even though she was awfully curious about it, Aramis picked up her pace once again, closing the distance between she and Shadow in just a few heartbeats. Just as she did however, the scent of blood hit her nostrils like a brick, copper hued eyes flashing with alarm. Her paced picked up urgently, just in time to see a large dog fleeing an alleyway. A terrible sense of forboding crashed into her, almost making the world spin around her just as Shadow started to speak. "Quill..! That was a loner! We need to find him!!" Aramis didn't need to be told twice. Aramis's lighter frame easily flew past Shadow as she broke away, turning around the corner heartbeats before Shadow did, the latter almost crashing into a dame in her path. Aramis stopped in her tracks, her legs sending a cloud of snow billowing up in front of her. The smell of blood was thick in the air, Aramis's gaze following the departing dog before her gaze would dart over to the source of the blood-scent. Her eyes flew wide as they landed on a familiar, spotted pelt, their hunger pang frame painted in a deep shade of crimson. "Quillon!! Her voice tore from her throat in a shriek, the spotted dame bounding forward, paying little attention to the abolition dog and Shadow. Her frame nearly trembled as she stopped just before her brother, eyes raking across the angry wounds on his flank. Her own flanks started to heave as her breathing grew more heavy. "What the hell happened!? Did that mongrel do this to you? We need to go home, screw whatever none sense you spoke about tomorrow morning." Her words spilled out of her maw with rapid succession, backing way to stare at the blood that had dripped onto the snow, staining it red. Her head would spin around to stare at the abolition dog, the fur along her spin raised and her lips curled back, painfully reminiscent to a certain dog they knew all too well. "Who are you? And what the hell happened here?" She addressed the other in a loud bark, the gravity of the situation making her appear far more hostile than she meant. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Fiochmhar| Insurgent Territory Borders| Mentions- Bates, Quillon, Shadow, Aramis Fiochmhar took a step back, then frowned. 'Do you see any blood on my claws?' she retorted hotly, the fur along her own spine bristling in response to the hostility. 'A loner attacked him and-' she closed her eyes. 'And I was an idiot and crossed the border to help.' she finished in a strained tone. She looked exasperated. 'Sorry for caring about other dogs.' she lifted her snout. 'Even if they aren't in my pack.' Fiochmhar looked away with her ears folded. 0 players like this post! Like? |

β Shiloh | she/her | Location: Abolition territory | Mentions: Reo Winter had finally dawned on the land, the earth now wore a coat of white. It was bizarre to the lanky female how it only took days for their world to change into such a wasteland that the snow brought upon them. Taking slow steps, listening to the snow crunch satisfyingly under her paw pads, Shiloh stared blankly at her paws as she walked. She was tired, not physicallyβ she didnβt do much to physically tire herself out, but she was just tired. Itβd been quite a while since Ferrer, Reo, and herself found the corpse of a packmate. She visited Mavyβs grave often, Shiloh picked flowers to place upon her resting place until the season slowly caused the number of plants to diminish. Lifting her head, Shiloh huffed out a visible breath after a long inhale through her nostrils. Completing her tasks with the new weather became harder, not impossibleβ but the snow certainly was a pain in the tail. No alarming scents, good. One step crunch, two step crunch, three step crunch. It was a satisfying sound to her floppy ears, she quite enjoyed it in all honesty. However, it was difficult to adjust to the chilly temperatures, even despite her wooly coat. Setting off in a direction, Shilohβs honey eyes spotted paw prints sunken into the layer of cold, followed by the recognizable scent of Reo. She hadnβt spoken to him much since the incident with Mavy. Nothing against the scout, but she wanted to avoid the subject as much as possible. The female stepped into his paw steps to make minimal noiseβ sure enough, after a bit of a walk she spotted the dog. He was half inside the burrow of a rabbit, eventually wiggling more and more inside. Shiloh suppressed a laugh at the sight, though her bright eyes caught sight of the brown ears of an alert rabbit against the white snow. On pure instinct, Shiloh set off for it, her paws kicking up snow in her wake. Leaping over Reo and his burrow, she yipped; ensuring he knew someone was there, and after quite the sprint she caught up with the rodent. Though as the lanky hound lunged for it, her jaws just barely missed its haunches, frustrated she let out a growl and pushed herself farther. Surely, Shiloh eventually caught itβ snatching it off the ground by the back of its neck. It only struggled briefly before its warm body went limp. The frosty air made her lungs hurt all the more, Shiloh was a fit dog but winter made everything ache it seemed. Turning back to head toward Reo with her catch, she dipped her head respectfully once sheβd come upon him. βWe meet again,β Shiloh hummed, settling the rabbit between her paws before she looked back up at him. Of course, theyβre seen each other since Mavyβs death but she hadnβt made a point to speak with him in conversation until now. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Isa | Insurgent Leader | Location: Insurgent Camp. Mentions: Slip, Daivik, Curly. She sent an icy glare over her shoulder towards warrior as he approached the toddling pup, the odd distrust in her features still apparent as she peeled her lips back to speak. "Come now, little flea." She addressed the youngster coldly, narrowing her gaze to peer at the sighthound. "You haven't happened to see my daughter around camp today, have you?" She asked Daivik, her voice much more inquisitive. She was referring to Aramis, of course. Since the disappearance of her sons, Isa had suddenly gained some urge to keep a close eye on the lass. Perhaps she was just grasping at straws, trying to hold onto the last of her "dying" lineage. At least, she assumed they were dead. She sniffed, attention suddenly swinging towards something hidden in the dark room. She took a few long steps forwards, the form of a honey-coated dog appearing from a shadowy corner. "Do you have nothing better to do, warrior?" She questioned Curly, staring down at the curled dog with a tinge of disdain. Quillon | Insurgent Warrior | Location: Insurgent Territory. Mentions: Bates, Fiochmhar, Aramis, Shadow. The brute had watched silently as Bates turned tail and ran, his muzzle creasing in a mixture of anger and pain. "What was that dog's problem?" Quillon glanced back towards the strange dame, "I'm not too sure myself... Maybe he was just hungry." He replied light-heartedly. Taking a few limping steps forwards, he sunk back onto his bleeding haunches with a grimace. The cuts ached, but the muscles in his neck and shoulder were also stiff and throbbing from the exertion. "I'm going to be bruised in the morning." He mumbled with a soft chuckle. His ears perked forwards as the figures of two canines came darting around the corner, almost crashing into the Abolition lass. "What the hell happened!? Did that mongrel do this to you? We need to go home, screw whatever none sense you spoke about tomorrow morning." He was stunned into silence, his eyes darting between the three canines as they began to squabble. He slowly heaved himself back to his paws with a grunt and limped between Fiochmhar and Aramis. "Calm down, Aramis. I would look a lot worse if it wasn't for her." He said sternly, sending his sister a half-serious gaze before leaning forwards and gently bumping his head against hers. "It's good to see you." His tail began to slowly wag at the sentence and he took a small step back. Standing was proving to be quite uncomfortable at the moment so he gently sat back down with a wince. "I got attacked by a loner. He claimed he wanted to eat me," He explained with a snort, "Maybe I should take that as a compliment." Quillon's voice was strained but his eyes were bright as he tried to downplay the circumstances. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 14/09/21 @ 20:25:59 by Sleep π± (#44085) |

Reo | Abolition Scout | Location: Abolition/Insurgent Border | Mentions: Shiloh, Jade, Slate Having half his body in the burrow, Reo kept digging his paws to wiggle closer and close to the prey. The dog saw a flash of a brown tail escape his sights and he lunged forward to attempt to snap it with his teeth. No success. As he was about to move closer, a yip was heard from above him. The sighthound jumped and hit his head on the hard dirt that was above. He let his own yip escape his mouth as he scrambled out of the burrow. Reo finally got his head out of the tunnel to see the other scout trotting up to him. He dipped his head in respect as she did hers and he noticed the brown rabbit in front of her paws. "Hey, that was my prey, Now you stole my thunder and now I look like I'm a lazy bum." The light brown canine joked to hopefully ease any tension and awkwardness. The two dogs hadn't held a conversation with each other since last week on Mavy's death. The hound trotted past the mutt and flicked his tail at her as he went by. "I gotta do even more work now to impress everyone." The dog stated with humour in his voice. As he started walking past, a howl rippled through the soft breezes of the wind. His ears turned toward the sound and the hound took off. The snow wasn't an obstacle anymore. After the events of last week, he didn't want to make any more possible mistakes. The two scouts were already close to their own border and what happened last time made the hound feel some form of trauma. It took about a full minute before Reo reached the scene. The scent of blood filled his nostrils a second before but he pushed it back. It wasn't possible to after another injury, or even death, happen again so soon. However, once the dog reached the destination, anger-fueled him. Once was pure, white innocent snow was now soaked a crimson red. Pawprints encircled the corpse and left in a straight line across their borderline. The crime scene stunk of death. Reo looked at the corpse of the dog. It was... it was their delta, Jade. And an Insurgent scent leaked off of her. No, this couldn't be happening. The hound let off a growl instinctively and he raised his front legs, only to smash them into the thick snow. For once, he was sick and tired of acting diligently. These past incidents have been quite unfair. Rage clouded his eyes as he looked back at the other scout. It didn't matter what Reo felt at this moment, as he cared about what Shiloh was feeling. She didn't handle the last murder well but now only discover another dead dog. This one was on their territory, their home. At least last time, the other dog had a reason because Mavy was in Insurgent's land. The hound looked back at the corpse and peered off to where the pawprints and the scent led. "C'mon. We have to tell the leaders. It looks like this is war now." Venom coated the dog's words as he began to dig a hole through the thick snow. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Aramis | Insurgent Scout | Location: Insurgent Border Mentions: Shadow, Fiochmar, Quillon(Directly) 'Do you see any blood on my claws?' Aramis's eyes sparked with annoyance at he dame's curt response, which was honestly reasonable, since Aramis was the one to snap out at her. Still, she let out a low growl towards the other, generous enough to sound less angry than she did before. "I was asking you what happened, broad, not accusing you of anything, answer the question." She sounded impatient as she addressed the other again, forcing the fur along her spine to lay flat. Well, mostly flat. Her gaze on the wiry dame was blocked by Quillon moving in between them. "Calm down, Aramis. I would look a lot worse if it wasn't for her." Her ears pressed against her skull, drawing in a shaky breath to ease her mood. She frowned, eyes lingering on her brother's bloodied flanks before she spoke. "Sorryβ It looked like you were a walking corpse for a second. Glad you're not one though." She said, her apology directed to both Fiochmar and Quillon, but mostly to the latter. Her tail began to whip back and forth as Quillon bumped his head against hers, Aramis leaning into the touch, a smile slowly replacing her frown. Her eyes were still clouded with worry, but she looked happy to see him. "It's good to see you." "I wish our reunion would have been better than this, but it's good to see you as well. You know there were rumors that Abolition murdered you and Jet? I wouldn't believe it." She said in a lighter tone, settling herself on her haunches as her tail vigorously stirred the snow behind her. "I got attacked by a loner. He claimed he wanted to eat me," Ah, Aramis guessed the fleeing dog was the culprit. Had he still been there when Aramis arrived she would have threw herself at him, with how she was feeling at the sight of the bloody scene. Shadow and Fiochmar's presence seemed to slip straight from Aramis's mind as she stayed gazing at Quillon. Her head tilted to the side rather dramatically at Quillons detail about the loner wanting to eat him, a brow furrowing. Have the loners really gotten that desperate already? The thought made her uneasy, but she shook it off, wanting to keep the mood light. "You as well? I got attacked by one not even an hour ago! I thought the mongrel was rabid. Just our luck." She hummed, her voice laced with humor as she did so, even if she was just talking about how she too was attacked. She turned out fine anyway, no need to sound so mopey about it. Plus, Quillon is here! And he's safeβ well, for the most part. "Maybe I should take that as a compliment." Aramis almost let out a puff of laughter, tail still wagging furiously behind her. "Oh really? I never thought you'd fancy advances like that. To each their own, I guess." She said in another humorous tone, raising a paw as if to prod at him, but deciding not to in fear it would harm him further. "We'd best have Raymond treat that." 0 players like this post! Like? |

Fiochmhar| Insurgent Territory Borders| Mentions- Bates, Quillon, Shadow, Aramis Fiochmhar stood her ground as the spotted dame snapped back at her, then her face softened as she watched the other dog talk to the one who got attacked. She noticed that they seemed close. Brother and sister maybe? She tilted her head, her fur going flat. It made her miss her brother, back in her own territory. She'd have to say hello next time she saw him. Her anger drained, she got to her paws, turned around and padded to where Quillon had fought the loner. She sniffed his scent and wrinkled her nose. The loner smelled odd... She took a few steps back and shook her head with a sneeze. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Shadow | Insurgent Territory | Quillion, Fiochmhar, Aramis Shadow sneezed as they skidded to a stop just before plowing into the Abolition dame. The scent of pain wasn't coming from her, nor was there a hostile scent. They shook out their fur, sizing up Fiochmhar, before their eyes, almost glowing in the dim light, settled on Quillion. They let out a soft whimper as he winced when he pushed between Aramis and Fiochmhar. Once he sat down and was chatting with Aramis, Shadow padded up to him, ears back but tail wagging, to inspect his wound. "This is bad... Hold still for a minute, this might sting." They nosed at the snow, making a small pile of it before grabbing a chunk between their teeth. They looked up at him with a warning in their eyes before gently placing the wound. "Let that sit for a bit before you try to move. It should help to stop the bleeding before we can get you to Raymond." They turned to the Abolition dame. "Thank you for helping him fight off the loner." Slate | Abolition Territory | Reo, Shiloh Slate was laying not far from Jade's body, shaking, covered in her blood. His eyes were glazed as he stared off into the distance. He didn't see Shiloh and Reo approach Jade's body, and he was barely breathing so he didn't pick up on their scents. Some small part of his brain was surprised that they didn't notice him, but the majority of his brain was replaying the fight with Jade. If you could even call it a fight. It was a slaughter. 0 players like this post! Like? |

He sat back down in his spot respectfully, tearing his emerald gaze away from the pup. "You haven't happened to see my daughter around camp today, have you?" His eyes followed the leader as she moved towards his packmate, but he looked away momentarily. It was none of his business if she wanted to single out the long-furred warrior- She has every right to, as the pack's leader. He thought bitterly to himself. 0 players like this post! Like?
