This RP is closed and has been remade here: LINK A feminine, monotone voice echoes through the halls of a suburban family home, "An estimated 250 dogs live at the plant itself, 225 in the city of Chernobyl, and hundreds more roam around, for a total of more than 1,000, according to SPCA International. Wolves and the need for food have driven the dogs from wooded areas surrounding the plant into the Exclusion Zone." Suddenly, a sharper female voice cuts in. "Don't watch something so depressing, sweetie. The puppies are fine." The screen goes black. setting music The city is picturesque from the television screen. Though living amongst the crumbling, overgrown, radioactive buildings is another hell entirely. Dogs whose ancestors were abandoned by their masters in order to escape the explosion generations ago still remain here to this day, too far into the Exclusion Zone to be saved by any humans residing outside of Chernobyl. Many have been born with birth defects, sometimes visible but more often affecting their minds, organs and lifespans. Two major packs have risen out of the dust, Abolition and Insurgent. The packs have always been at odds but due to the encroachment of wolves and low resources, space is low and tempers are at an all time high. Can they come together to overcome the odds or will their own greed tear them down?
Current season: Early Winter. [Frigid temperatures. Long nights, short and dark days.] Current major events: Time Skip!! 9/5 Two Abolition dogs have been killed by Insurgent pack members. This has caused unrest in both packs. A massive snow storm has swept over Chernobyl, bringing an early winter and a shortage of supplies.

Isa | Insurgent Leader | Location: Insurgent border. Mentions: Slip. The pale-coated female traipsed through the dense snow, her whiskers heavy with ice and a blanket of snow settled on her back. In her mouth was a young rabbit, so thin that she was easily carrying it between her clenched teeth. Her cold eyes studied her surroundings intently. She was searching for more prey, holding on to the hope that perhaps a boar would pop up from the barren landscape. It was no wonder that she spotted the toddling pup relatively easily. At first she sent the small figure a single glance before turning her nose up and continuing on her path. Let it get eaten by scavengers. It's not worth feeding. She thought as she plodded along, her face twisting in a scowl of annoyance. It didn't take long for her to slow her pace though. She hesitantly swiveled around and stared at the pup with a sigh. Maybe she could at least see where it came from. It was also likely that it's parents were around, it being this young. She'd have to deal with them as well. She stomped towards the little creature, her ears flopping forwards as she stared down at Slip unsympathetically. Her gaze narrowed as she picked up a familiar scent. Abolition. The smell made her muzzle wrinkle into a grimace. "All the more reason to leave you in the snow. Good luck, poor little mite." She grumbled the words out around the rabbit in her mouth, stepping away from the pup with a sniff of contempt. Quillon | Insurgent Warrior | Location: Insurgent Territory. Mentions: Bates. Quillon's head raised significantly higher as the loner began to move towards him again. He let out a loud snarl, his teeth still bared and fur standing on edge. It was a last-ditch effort at bluffing, but seemed to have little to no effect on the crazed canine. They were obviously joking, right? No canine in their right mind would eat another dog? "Good. I've been real hungry.." At the words, Quillon staggered backwards from the larger dog. Reality sunk in, and he suddenly found himself backed up against the building to his flank. The cackle that sounded from the loner's maw caused a jolt of fear to run through the normally stoic canine. He flattened himself against the icy brick siding and lowered his head, gaze locked on to Bates' as they trudged closer. It was then that he acted almost instinctively. He dashed towards the taller canine and rammed into them with his shoulder, hoping to get away before they had a chance to recover. His plan was foiled before it began, however. The ground was slick from ice and as he began to flee he found his paws sliding out from underneath him. He hit the ground hard, his teeth clicking together from the force. It was then that he was reminded of his poor body condition, and even that slight amount of exertion felt draining to Quillon. He struggled to right himself once again, his black claws digging into the ice as he dragged himself back to his feet. Fiorello | Loner | Location: Outside the territories. Mentions: Demesu, Sana. After a long pause of catatonic silence, Fiorello finally slumped to the ground and groaned. He let out a long sigh, the side of his body that had smashed into the object beginning to throb with a dull ache. He would lie there for a moment in a daze. As his vision seemed to clear, he studied the rats he had dropped. They were now lying on the ground in front of his muzzle, their beady eyes staring back into his. "Ouch." He mumbled quietly, slowly pulling himself back into a sitting position. Fio wasn't entirely alert, however. He glanced about the area in a confused manner before shakily heaving himself to his paws and picking his prey back up with his teeth. It was then that he staggered out from behind the rubble, his foggy gaze lingering on a dog in the distance. Hadn't there been a different dog there before? He shook his flopped ears, suddenly becoming aware of the small trickle of blood dripping from a small gash on his forehead. No. Maybe it was the same dog. He blinked slowly. "Maybe I should leave." He whispered quietly to himself, eyes half-lidded as he stumbled in the opposite direction. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Jade | Abolition Territory | Mentions: (Direct) Slate "I was paying more attention to the sight of the rabbit than the scents around me." Sigh, she was genuinely angry with the pack's leader for allowing her subordinates to be out in other territories fiddling around without paying attention. But it was Isa, what could she expect from the ruthless leader? "Gods above, did I do that? I am so sorry. I suppose my wolf instincts are sharper than I thought." Wolf instincts? It almost sounded like a brag. "We don't want you Insurgent dogs in our territory in the first place, and there is no need to say sorry. We don't say sorry to a rival pack delta do we now?" she said following the statements made, the wound wasn't that bad either. She had experienced worse before. At this point, she was circling the other dog, or, well, possible wolf-hybrid. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Fiochmhar| Insurg/Abol Borders| Mentions- Bates, Quillon (Indirectly) Fiochmhar's ears flicked up as a small sound reached her ears. It sounded like... dogs talking, growling maybe? She took a step over the border, sure she was hearing a scuffle and angry noises in Insurgent lands. Her instincts were going absolutely wild- she was sure someone was being hurt, or attacked, or or or⦠or anything! She started towards the faint noise, heedless of the border she was crossing. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Aramis | Insurgent Scout | Location: Insurgent Border Mentions: Shadow(Directly) Aramis's head cocked to the side slightly as Shadow began to speak. "Umm, yes. I wanted to talk to you about Quill." the spotted dames expression was dampened with worry at Shadow's words, her paws shifting in the snow underneath them nervously, subconsciously holding her breath. "He isn't hurt, is he?" She asked softly, her large blue ears flattening against her skull, a frown gently tugging at the corners of her lips. She'd fall silent as they continued. "Ummm, I'm assuming you know how I feel about him, yes?" Her expression then lightened at this, however, finally allowing herself to breathe again, the air she let out of her nose coming out in a small cloud in front of her face. Aramis had noticed fairly early when Shadow started to show more interest in Quillon, and over time it seemed like they were attached to his hip at all times, so Aramis did have an idea on why that was. It was fairly obvious. She was quiet for a few heartbeats before she'd speak again. "I've had my assumptions, yeah." She said simply to the other, gazing at them intently. "Well, after he left again, I howled to him, telling him I would be waiting and for him to come home safely. Well, he actually responded." Aramis's head tilted even further. "Go on..." She pushed gently, the spark of interest in her copper hued gaze growing ever more. "He asked me to wait for him... Do you think it means anything...? Jet thinks he doesn't care for me..." Aramis sat back finally, looking lost in thought as she blinked at her beta. One thing she thought of first as of the howls Shadow was mentioning. Did Aramis really miss that? Howls could be heard from farther away especially a wolfs howl, and Shadow had a decent amount of wolf in her lineage. Must've been when I was getting attacked by that rogue. Aramis thought with a swipe of her tongue, her mouth tasting sour at the thought of the crazed broad. Quickly bringing her attention back to Shadow's question once again, she paused. Dragging in a long inhale, the dame would finally speak after it sounded like forever. "You said he just said wait for him, correct? In all honesty, I reckon it means exactly what he's saying, to wait for him until he comes back tomorrow morning. To me it doesn't allude to anything more or less than that." She huffed, analyzing Shadow's face for a reaction before she'd continue with a small shrug. "That being said, I can't speak for himself. If you truly want to see uh... how he feels about you? Then I'd suggest talking to him about it, yeah?" She added, scowling after what they mentioned about Jet, shaking her head. "Ignore the brute. He's always a bit prickly. Of course Quillon cares about you, you're his friend." 0 players like this post! Like? |

Shadow | Insurgent Camp | Aramis Shadow was hanging on to Aramis's every word, their eyes alight with hope. "You said he just said to wait for him, correct?" Shadow nodded slowly, getting a feeling that they were not going to like what Ara was going to say next. "In all honesty, I reckon it means exactly what he's saying, to wait for him until he comes back tomorrow morning. To me it doesn't allude to anything more or less than that." As Ara huffed after this statement, Shadow's face fell, their expression losing the small bit of hope it held. "I wanted to ask because he's never done anything like that before.... He's always treated me more as the beta than as a friend.... Thank you for being honest with me, I truly appreciate it." Shadow whispered this and almost missed Aramis's next statement. "That being said, I can't speak for him. If you truly want to see uh... how he feels about you? Then I'd suggest talking to him about it, yeah?" Shadow thought for a moment before responding. "I would, but I don't want to make him uncomfortable if he doesn't feel anything more for me than friendship. I don't want to lose him." They blinked as Aramis spoke again. "Ignore the brute. He's always been a bit prickly. Of course Quillion cares about you, you're his friend." They smiled softly, reaching up to lick Aramis's cheek from where they were sitting. "Thank you Aramis, you're a good friend." They sigh softly, looking wistfully out the entrance to camp. "I wish Quillion would have allowed me to accompany him... I can't stand waiting and not knowing if he's alright...." They looked to Ara once more, worry clouding their eyes. "I have a really bad feeling right now.... Ara, would you help me look for Quill? I'm worried about him. Something tells me something is happening somewhere and it isn't good. I've learned to trust my instincts over the years, and they have yet to lead me wrong." They stand gracefully, shaking the snow out of their fur. Slate | Abolition Territory | Jade Slate's amber eyes narrowed as Jade began circling him, a warning growl sounding deep in his chest. "I'd be careful if I was you pup, I don't want to hurt you but if you keep circling I will lose control." Slate joined in the circling motion, his fur standing on end, tail raised, and his fangs bared in a snarl. His eyes reflected the light on the snow, making them appear as though they were glowing. Now he truly looks like a wolf. As the two completed a second circuit, Slate leaped at Jade in a blur of movement, latching on to her throat. As he leapt away again in true wolf style, he tore a chunk of her throat out, tearing the vital artery that pumps blood through the body. As she bled out, Slate watched with his wolf-like gaze, unmoved by her agony. It took several moments for Slate to regain control of himself, and by that point it was too late. She was already gone. "Oh no.... what have I done...?" Slate backed away in horror, his body instinctively slouching into a submissive posture, tail tucked and ears pinned to his skull. He let out a mournful howl before dashing away from the cooling corpse, back into his own territory. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Isa | Insurgent Leader | Location: Insurgent border - Insurgent Territory. Mentions: Slip. Her folded ears fastened back in annoyance as the pup fell in line with her pawsteps. She glanced over her shoulder, sending the shivering dog an indifferent growl. "Shoo, mite. Go back home. You don't belong here." Isa huffed, her meal still clamped between her teeth. She could feel something tugging at her chest, however. It was an irritating, trivial feeling to the cold-hearted lass. The further she tramped through the snow, the stronger the urge was to glance back and see if the little nuisance was still trailing behind. The image of her own toddling pups crept into her mind. She shoved it away quickly, her fur prickling from anger. She finally came to a stop and let out a loud snarl of annoyance. She tossed the frail rabbit into the bank of snow to her left rather violently and whirled around, glaring at the pup. "Blast it all." She grumbled under her breath, traipsing forwards and snatching the pup by the scruff of their neck. She then swung back around and continued on her trail, leaving the corpse of the rabbit lying behind in the snow. What the hell am I doing? Isa scolded herself internally, her gaze narrowed and fixed forwards. No matter how she twisted the situation, she couldn't seem to validate her own actions in her mind. "You better be worth it, runt." She managed to murmur past the ball of fur in her mouth. Quillon | Insurgent Warrior | Location: Insurgent Territory. Mentions: Bates. The sting of pain against his flank caused Quillon's eyes to widen. He twisted his body around and clamped his own teeth around the loner's muzzle, eventually tearing himself free and kicking the other dog in the face in his haste to get away. Finally. He found his footing and staggered a few steps forward before whirling around to face the assailant. The swift movement sent a plume of snow into the air, settling on the spotted dog's face, back, and shoulders. The fear was now gone from his features and was replaced by a frightening expression of rage. He lowered his head, teeth bared as he waited for the hulking canine to attempt to do something further. "Come on then. I thought you said you were hungry?" He growled out, goading the attacker on with a faint smile of contempt. 0 players like this post! Like? Aramis | Insurgent Scout | Location: Insurgent Border Mentions: Shadow(Directly) Slate(Indirectly) Aramis would once again lean away subconsciously as Shadow licked at her cheek, looking just as taken aback as she was before, before shaking her head, ears pricking at their voice picking up again. "Thank you Aramis, you're a good friend." Aramis smiled. "No need to thank me, Shadow." She herself cast a wistful gaze across the snow-ridden territory of Insurgent, ears folding against her skull as she sighed, shoulders sinking. She hoped her brother was okay. Though, seeing Jet in better condition than he ever has been made Aramis's spark of hope grow even bigger, and she felt less depressed about everything that was going on. Despite that, she still felt her pelt prick with forboding unease as the silence between she and Shadow stretched further. "I wish Quillion would have allowed me to accompany him... I can't stand waiting and not knowing if he's alright...." Aramis stayed silent at this, though a frown had started to tug at the corners of her lips. Why did he want to wait another day to come home anyway? Was it because of Isa? What would she do? At that thought Aramis backtracked, swallowing once her mouth was enveloped in a dry sensation. What would she do, thats the appropriate question here. Would Quillon have let Aramis join him if she were the one to find him? Aramis sniffed, head shaking side to side subtly. Probably not, he'd want her to be safe at home. Ara, would you help me look for Quill? I'm worried about him. Something tells me something is happening somewhere and it isn't good. I've learned to trust my instincts over the years, and they have yet to lead me wrong." Aramis nodded, standing to her paws smoothly, before she'd take a long stride forward, gazing at Shadow. "Ah, so you feel it too. Yeah, we should get going, quick." She stated, before she set off in a hurried pace, not turning back to see if Shadow was keeping up. Shadow had said they found Jet, right? Then they must've taken him home, so there must be a trail somewhere, and with that large gadget of Jet's the'd be easy to spot. Thank the Gods it wasn't snowing. So, Aramis searched around for tracks before heading out in a specific direction, and just as she expected, she found them easily, starting off after him. She was silent for a long while, completely concentrated on following the tracks before she'd lift her head, glancing over her shoulder at Shadow quizzically. "Do you think he left to find Ryker?" She questioned, blinking expectantly at the other. It made sense; he left the day he went out to retrieve the obnoxious little thing. But if thats the case, why didn't he just come back home the morning after? Did he choose to stay away? No- the blizzard might have had a part in that. She was torn out of her thoughts as a distressed howl reached her ears from the distance, her hurried pace faltering slightly as she turned to look in the direction it came from. Her stops would slow to a stop after recognizing the voice, her paw raising from the ground just as her tail lifted. "Was that Slate? 0 players like this post! Like? |

Isa | Insurgent Leader | Location: Insurgent Territory - Insurgent Camp. Mentions: Slip, Daivik. Isa hurried along, her sleek frame bounding through the snow as she drew closer to camp. All the while, the pup was dangling obediently from her jaws. At least it isn't putting up a fight. If it was, I would've tossed it a while ago. She thought, furrowed gaze setting on the hospital in the distance. Camp was eerily quiet as she passed through, but the area was filled with various scents. She must have just missed whoever was here. As she traipsed into the hospital she plopped Slip onto the ground at her paws. Her claws made an awful racket against the smooth, tile flooring while she shook the snow and ice from pelt. As she righted herself, her pale eyes trailed around the dimly lit room. They eventually landed on the familiar frame of one of her warriors. Her muzzle scrunched a bit at the prey-scent wafting from Daivik and she studied the slender dog for a moment before addressing him with a flick of her tail. "I see that you were successful in your hunt." Her tone was frigid as she spoke, and her gaze bore into the other dog suspiciously. She finally glanced down at the pup sitting at her feet and slid them forwards with a paw. "Mine was less so." She mumbled, mostly to herself, before stepping over the small figure and loping further into the building. Quillon | Insurgent Warrior | Location: Insurgent Territory. Mentions: Bates, Fiochmhar. He took a slight step back as Bates' lunged forwards once again, cringing as their teeth snapped together inches from him. Quillon raised one of his paws from the ground, his claws tensing as he prepared himself to strike the loner over the face. He drew back, hesitating as another strange dog flew out of the snow and bashed themselves into his aggressor. He was taken aback by the sudden intrusion, unsure of what to do. He placed his paw back onto the ground and took a long step away. "Ha- Thank you..." He managed to wheeze out after a moment. It didn't take long for the scent of Abolition to waft past his nose and he tensed a bit, confused as to why an Abolition dog would be in Insurgent's territory. Or more importantly, why they would be helping him. The snow underneath his body was muddled with speckles of blood trickling from the wounds on his haunches. Quillon turned his attention back to the large canine, his fur still bristled from anger. "You're not as tough as you look, I expected more of a fight." His lip curled back slightly at the remark, Quillon's gaze defiant and bold as he looked down his muzzle at the loner. He gave Fiochmhar a wide berth as he half-circled the cannibalistic brute, his curled tail rising up over his back. He was still unsure of the Abolition warrior's intentions, and he wasn't very keen on getting attacked by a second dog today. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Daivik | Insurgent Camp | Mentions: Isa, Slip [directly] Daivik's ears twitched at the sound of scrabbling claws against tile and of another dog shaking themself off. He looked up from his paws to his leader. Ah, of course. He should have recognized her scent before he even looked at her. He dipped his head respectfully to Isa as she spoke. "I see that you were successful in your hunt." His answer was immediate. "Yes, ma'am." He suddenly noticed the small bundle of fur next to her. A pup? He blinked at her last comment, watching her lope away. Curious.. I wonder where this came from. He was looking at the pup again. His nostrils flared, inhaling the pup's scent from where he was sitting in the comfy little corner. Abolition? He watched it stand, eyes narrowing. He didn't figure that Isa would want the little thing trailing her. He knew the pup may be too young to understand him, so he made sure to project his voice directly at it. "Pup. Where are you going?" Daivik stood slowly and took a step forwards. He wasn't trying to seem intimidating- rather, just wanted to let the pup know that he was the bigger dog, in case it tried something. After our leader, obviously. Without invitation, it is rather rude, though... 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 14/09/21 @ 17:05:23 by lemon (#238465) |
