This RP is closed and has been remade here: LINK A feminine, monotone voice echoes through the halls of a suburban family home, "An estimated 250 dogs live at the plant itself, 225 in the city of Chernobyl, and hundreds more roam around, for a total of more than 1,000, according to SPCA International. Wolves and the need for food have driven the dogs from wooded areas surrounding the plant into the Exclusion Zone." Suddenly, a sharper female voice cuts in. "Don't watch something so depressing, sweetie. The puppies are fine." The screen goes black. setting music The city is picturesque from the television screen. Though living amongst the crumbling, overgrown, radioactive buildings is another hell entirely. Dogs whose ancestors were abandoned by their masters in order to escape the explosion generations ago still remain here to this day, too far into the Exclusion Zone to be saved by any humans residing outside of Chernobyl. Many have been born with birth defects, sometimes visible but more often affecting their minds, organs and lifespans. Two major packs have risen out of the dust, Abolition and Insurgent. The packs have always been at odds but due to the encroachment of wolves and low resources, space is low and tempers are at an all time high. Can they come together to overcome the odds or will their own greed tear them down?
Current season: Early Winter. [Frigid temperatures. Long nights, short and dark days.] Current major events: Time Skip!! 9/5 Two Abolition dogs have been killed by Insurgent pack members. This has caused unrest in both packs. A massive snow storm has swept over Chernobyl, bringing an early winter and a shortage of supplies.

Vanadis | Loner | Location: Unclaimed Territory, Abandoned Storehouse Mentions: Roland(Directly) Isa "There is no fair or unfair when it comes to hunting." Vanadis huffed, craning her neck up to watch as Roland approached her. Her ears flipped back as he mocked her growl, the young dame lifting a paw to bat at his face. "You need to control yourself." At this Vanadis looked away, back to where the mouse skittered off, nowhere in sight. "I thought it was distracted." She huffed out in complaint, watching as the taller brute pushed the shelf away from the doors. A blinding light pooled into the store, Vanadis closing her eyes against it for a few moments before they adjusted. The dust particles floating around in the air caught her attention immediately, the alabaster furred pup raising on her hind paws slightly to snap at the air in an attempt to catch some of it. "I'm going to go on a hunt. Feel free to tag along, ki- Vanadis." Roland's voice soon took her attention away from her play, allowing her upper half to fall back down on her paws. "Is that my nickname now, kid?" She asked, scrabbling over to him so she was now underneath him, sniffing cautiously as she peered outside. The storm dumped a much thicker blanket of snow everywhere, and aside from buildings and some bits of the undergrowth surrounding the store, you couldn't see anything but white. She moved outside before Roland, pushing through the heap of snow that piled up through the hole in the door's corner, huffing snow out of her nostrils as she finally burst through. While earlier her long legs held her quite a bit over the snow, the storm brought it to just below her belly, which Vanadis was slightly miffed about. Her coat would have blended in easily with it, had it not been for the creamy hues of her pelt, as well as the dark gray on her muzzle. She hopped, since it was quite hard to plow her legs through the snow now, landing near a particularly thick clump of undergrowth. The vegetation shuddered fro her intrusion, dumping heavy clumps of snow onto Vanadis. She hopped away in surprise, peering at her back before she'd shake the snow away, before turning back to look at Roland enthusiastically. "There's snow everywhere! Well, more than there were before." She said, taking notice of the snowflakes falling from the sky, much more gentle than it appeared to be in the storm, trying to catch some of the fakes on her nose. Deanira | Insurgent Co-Lead | Location: Insurgent Camp Mentions: Synopy, Likaen(Directly) "Ferrer left to look for Slip. The pup disappeared some time this morning and Ferrer is worried about him." Deanira's ears pricked at this, though she remained calm, looking back to where she had last seen Ferrer go. Slip's still awfully young. He mustn't have gone too far. She reasoned to herself quietly, but she couldn't help but feel unease creep up on her spine, looking at Synopy with a worried gaze. She hummed slightly as the wiry brute brought up the loner, recalling the unfamiliar, sickly thin dog he was talking to earlier. Her eyes lowered as she heard claws scraping against the ground, which was Likaens. The action made Deanira's expression flash with immediate concern. She once again said to herself, nervousness settling down onto her shoulders. "The other matter is the circumstances under which Rye and I found this loner. Rye had encountered Insurgent dogs near the border and a scuffle ensued with the loner. After the matter was handled, I warned the Insurgent scout that we would not be able to be as kind as I was earlier if we encounter them again with more of our pack mates, as they are still recovering from the loss of Mavy. She seemed shocked when I mentioned that Mavy was a mother, and this leads me to believe that rather than being a coordinated act by the pack, Mavy's murder was the result of the actions of one rouge member. I fear that our pack mates are blaming the wrong party for the loss of Mavy, and it may result in dire consequences." Deanira's eyes narrowed slightly at the mention of an Insurgent dog, as well as Mavy, and by the time Likaen had finished speaking she looked lost in thought, her ears pulled back against her skull. She frowned, passing a quick glance towards the direction of Insurgent camp. Finally, she'd speak after the silence dragged on. Deanira looked skepitcal. "I hear what you're saying. I think its wise to consider that there may be rogue members of Insurgent murdering our own, but we must be careful with this. Are you sure she wasn't just surprised at the fact Mavy was a mother? We must take into consideration that Mavy was a new mother, after all. It wasn't long after she had her pups that she was murdered. She still could have known about the attack, just not about the fact Mavy was a mother." She huffed out, finally fixing Likaen with a serious gaze. Deanira paused, looking between Synopy and Likaen before she'd continue, clearing her throat before she did so. "And even if it is a rogue member, Insurgent is still at fault. I'll let it slide this time, but if something like what happened to Mavy occurs once again, i'll be sure to pay Isa a visit to make sure she gets her followers in control, or to put an end to whatever she is planning. Whatever that may be." She said, looking between Likaen and Synopy once again, this time as if she was daring them to speak against Deanira's plan of speaking to Isa. Aramis | Insurgent Border | Location: Insurgent Camp Mentions: Cassiopeia(Indirectly) Aramis had set out of camp again once the storm had calmed down, having to raise her paws higher than normal for her legs to plow through the snow. Had it not been for her spots and solid blue ears, she would have blended in perfectly with the snow-laden landscape. The snow that fell slowly from the sky helped her at least, piling up slowly alog her back, the dame getting rid of it with a quick shake once it got too cold to bear. Aramis would have definitely stayed back home, but she dragged herself out here in search of food, more so for the pup she found during the storm than herself, even though she was a little hungry. Her breaths left her nostrils in large clouds as she searched for at least some sign of prey, her search sending her far out into Insurgent territory before she finally discovered tiny tracks not so far away, rabbit tracks, upon closer inspection. She started after them quickly, following them until she spotted movement in the corner of her eye. Her movements went eerily still aside from her head spinning in that direction, her body hanging low as her eyes met with the white fluff of a hare, which she almost missed, and at once she began to stalk closer to the unsuspecting prey, lean muscles rolling underneath her spotted coat. Once she deemed herself close enough, Aramis launched herself out of her crouch, her frame hurtling at a startling speed towards the hare. As expected, it darted away, Aramis giving chase. Just as she thought she couldn't catch up to it in time, the hare disappeared into the earth, presumably into a burrow. What a terribly placed burrow. She thought to herself, immediately stopping just before it and clawing away at the snow and earth quickly. Once she could fit her head inside, Aramis dove in, teeth snapping around in the darkness until they snapped shut on fur, the scout pulling the hare away from safety before she'd end it's life. She let out a proud huff, plopping the hares body on the ground to analyze it. It looked good enough, quite plump looking for a hare in this season, her tail wagging slightly at the fact. "I could look for another one, no?" She said to herself softly, lifting her head to gaze at her surroundings. By the smell of it, she was by the Insurgent and Abolition border, though the scent border's of Insurgent were faint. Could refresh those while I'm at it. She thought, retrieving her kill before she'd do just that, approaching the border carefully with her hare held tightly in her jaws. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Demesu | Location: Insurgent Borders | Mentions: Stixx, Bates, Being, Luxnas He shuddered at the sounds echoing in the storefront. His body tensing further as the dogs seemingly to pleasure in the fight. Should I help him? Demesu wondered, a soft whimper coming from his throat. I could scare them.. maybe. Or find a way out for him. The spotted dog thought to himself, looking around the back as he sat beneath the counter. Kahno | Location: Abolition Territory --> Abolition Camp | Mentions: Fiochmhar (Indirectly) He'd finally made his way back to camp, his fur plastered to his thin body as he shuffled back into the plant. The rabbit he caught was still hanging from his jaws, a gift for his sister, one he wouldn't let the others near. With slow steps the tall sighthound finally let his catch got, dropping it near his sister's resting place, not knowing whether she was nearby or still out. Kahno would also take the moment to sit, his body needing the rest and warmth of the pack's shared home. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Demesu | Location: Insurgent Borders | Mentions: Stixx, Bates, Being, Luxnas βDid you... hear that?β The simple words made him stop, he was quick to cover his snout, his paws resting over his mouth. I shouldn't have done that! What do I do, growl bark?! Maybe bite them if I see them? No, no that's a death wish, maybe I can escape. Glancing back and forth, Demesu noticed a closed-off back door, possibly leading to the outside. Kahno | Location: Abolition Camp | Mentions: Fiochmhar With a quick glance, Kahno noticed his sister, a grin tugging at his snout before disappearing. "I'm fine... It seems my sight is going as I didn't really notice you. How have you been, busy day as well?" His tone was soft, a deep hum as he spoke to his sibling. "Any recent news?" The words were a dull mumble. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Reo | Abolition Scout | Location: Abolition/Insurgent Border | Mentions: Aramis (Directly), Shiloh, Slate (Indirectly) As Reo kept digging during the now fresh snow, he completely missed the other scents of dogs. The small snowstorm just passed and it just so happened to start when he began digging. He had to take a break and wait for the storm to pass before he started again. It would just be completely idiotic of him to dig while it's snowing. The sighthound rushed his work but it was a tedious task. His paws weren't made to dig such a large amount all by himself. The snow was even making them numb. Reo stopped digging for a few moments and backed out of the hole to take a small break. Poor Jade. He felt useless that he was taking this long to give her a proper burial. Their pack has been losing members left and right through different occurrences. Snapping out of his thoughts, Reo saw a flash of black just barely outside his field of view. The sighthound followed the sight and saw a spotted dog in a burrow. Well, now he knew how he looked like a while ago. It was quite a ridiculous sight. The light brown canine watched as the other dog emerged with a rabbit. An insurgent scent drifted towards his nose and he instinctively snarled. That was supposed to be his rabbit that he was going to use to redeem himself. Reo watched as the other dog got closer to the borderline and he barked. It wasn't a deep bark as he wasn't a big huge dog but it was full of malice. "Hey Reo yelled towards the mutt. "First you kill one of our dogs again, and now you kill a possible meal for our pack? You revolting, murderous mongrel. What are you? A halfbreed with a cow? It would explain your size." Reo sneered at the stranger. The two dogs actually may be a bit similar in size, maybe him a little skinnier. However, it was mainly to rile up the other dog. Reo was also a bit reckless, seemingly ignoring his duties (and being respectful) for the time being. He knew better than to cross the border himself but the other dog was awfully close. The sighthound straightened up and stiffened his tail. He walked over to Jade's dead body as if to protect it. Although, it seems a bit too late to protect now. Finch | Abolition Warrior | Location: Abolition Camp | Mentions: Ferrer Finch had just returned back to the camp with two rabbits. They were strangely an influx of them this winter. Maybe they didn't get enough food to store for the season. The large wolfhound mix let go of the prey into the pile as she caught a familiar scent in her nose. Herbs of all kinds drifted into her nose and the bulky dog turned her head. OF course, it was none other than the healer of the pack himself. It seemed he was a bit distraught. Finch trotted up to the dog and bowed her head in respect. Good afternoon Ferrer. How are you today? She didn't want to pry too much and hoped the opening question will alleviate any worries the other dog had. She followed the dog as he began to sniff the ground. "If you're looking for something, I'll offer my help." The wolfhound suggested. The other dog was more than capable of finding something but two dogs are better than one. 0 players like this post! Aramis | Insurgent Border | Location: Insurgent Border Mentions: Reo(Directly) "Hey!" Aramis was just about to go through with her task when a sharp bark cut through the silence, her head swinging to the source of it with the hare still in her jaws, a surprised look on her face. "First you kill one of our dogs again, and now you kill a possible meal for our pack? You revolting, murderous mongrel. What are you? A halfbreed with a cow? It would explain your size." She blinked, still looking surprised as his words didn't seem to register to Aramis's head for just a few moments, trying to figure out this brute's deal, and why he was yelling at her so angrily. It seemed they finally did register however, her eyes pinning onto the lithe brute, copper hued eyes blazing as she roughly jerked her head to the side, tossing the hare several feet behind her before her head would spin back. How the hell was she murderous to this mongrel? Her lips curled back, revealing pearly, sharp ivories before a loud snarl would erupt from her, almost startlingly loud coming from a dame like her. "A possible meal for your pack? Have you hit your head during the blizzards or were you genuinely born without a functioning brain? This hare is on our territory, and therefore is belongs to Insurgent and Insurgent only, you stupid cur. Unless you can prove it was yours, go on. Go on and show how much of a fool you can make yourself out to be." Her words dripped with animosity as she leered at the other, how stance now stiff as her gaze nearly burned into his wiry frame. Recalling his comment about her size just fueled her anger more, letting out another snarl as she watched him walk forward, the dame almost believing he was moving to cross the border. "I may be no murderous broad but if you want to keep your jewels in tact I'd reckon you'd shut your bastard mouth. I'd be doing the world a favour if I did so anyway, I'd prevent the streets from being cursed with even more brainless curs like you." Her jaws shut with an audible snap, watching as he walked over to hover over something, though with the recent snowfall it was hard to see whatever it was, but Aramis failed to care. Her stance was wide and stiff legged as she then recalled his accusatory words, and if she wasn't as furious as she was she would have been confused, but it only fueled the flames. "Tell me, does it look like I've been in a fight recently? Unless; you have proof that I killed that dame as well." She paused to draw in a shaky breath. "After all, if the stupid broad hadn't been taking a stroll in our territory, she wouldn't have died." It was then apparent that the dame believed the skinny mongrel was talking about Mavy, the spotted scout doing her best to ignore the guilt that pricked at her spine in reaction to her harsh words, but she was right. She was on their territory when she was killed, and even though Aramis knew full well what happened to her was wrong, it wouldn't have been that way if she just stuck to her own territory. She couldn't help but realize how closely she sounded to Isa when she said just about the same thing. Aramis would have taken on a much more respectful tone, or most likely wouldn't have said it at all had it not been for the others approach. 0 players like this post! Like? Slate | Insurgent - Abolition Border | Reo, Aramis, Jade(Deceased) Slate woke to the sounds of a fight. Snarling, angry barks, and the sounds of paws breaking through the top layer of snow. He tried to lift his head, but found something laying atop it. What the...? He let out a warning growl, his wolf instincts screaming that it was a trap, that it was dangerous. He leapt to his feet, snow erupting in a cloud around him. He almost collapsed as his paws hit the ground, hunger wracking his body. As he calmed, realizing it had just snowed over top of him, his gaze caught on two dogs standing stiff-legged on either side of the pack border. There was a mound behind one of them, and they seemed to be protecting it. Someone must have found the dame I m-..... He couldn't finish the thought, even in his head. He finally recognized the Insurgent dog as Aramis and started padding painfully towards her. He tried to speak, his voice coming out as a weak whine. "Aramis..." He tried again, clearing his throat. "Aramis... Over here...." His voice came out somewhat louder this time, and he hoped that she heard him. When he reached her side, he almost collapsed back onto the snow, his eyes rolling back into his head as his body convulsed. Roland | Loner | Outside of Territories | Mentions; Vanadis [directly] "Is that my nickname now, kid?" Roland grunted, watching her move forwards into the snow. "Oh, hush. I tried, didn't I?" He paused. "Besides I doubt you'd want to be called little broad again instead of me mistakenly calling you kid, no?" He finally moved forwards, long, slender legs keeping him held above the snow. He padded after the pup, stepping high so that he wasn't just ploughing ahead. "There's snow everywhere! Well, more than there was before." He snorted, not that it was particularly funny. "Yeah, you'd think. Now come on, I'm hungry and I'm sure you are too." He slipped through the thick vegetation that surrounded his storehouse, nostrils flaring. He was quick to pick up the distinct scent of rabbit. He licked his maw hungrily, glancing back at the pup. "Vanadis. Rabbit." He gestured towards the scent trail. Hah, got your name right this time! One point for me! He thought proudly before continuing towards the scent. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Isa | Insurgent Leader | Location: Insurgent Camp. Mentions: Aramis, Curly, Slip, Cassiopeia. "Is this one from Abolition?" Isa had nodded solemnly in response to Aramis' inquiry. At least, she had assumed the pup was from there. Slip carried the pack's scent and had seemingly wandered over from their territory. How he had actually managed to make it across the border boggled her mind. She took a leery step back as the pup wobbled back her way. "Yes- Yes, I intend on keeping it- her." Hm. I had thought as much. Isa let out an annoyed sigh and turned away as her daughter settled to the floor. She wasn't entirely sure what would come of this pup. He was too young to tell them where he had truly come from, and she was uncertain she could waltz into Abolition's territory to return him. It wasn't worth the risk of attack. Isa turned her head in thought. I could just toss him back over where I found him. The idea made her chuckle under her breath. She leered down at the toddling pup, bending down to nab him by the scruff once again. Or, maybe we'll just keep him around. I'm sure I could find some use for him eventually. Plodding back to where she had been resting earlier, she sat Slip back down into the nest and settled down next to the youngster. With her head against the cool floor, she could feel a heavy blanket of weariness settling across her body. Closing her eyes, she drifted off into an unrestful sleep. Ferrer | Abolition Healer | Location: Abolition Territory. Mentions: Finch. "Good afternoon Ferrer. How are you today?" Ferrer did little to slow down his gate as Finch fell in step behind him. He offered the warrior a flick of his ear in greeting, not pausing to answer her first question. His worried gaze stayed trained on the faint pawprints across the snow at his paws. Slip had seemingly toddled their way across the border. The idea didn't particularly ease Ferrer's unrest, but the thought of the other pack finding the pup before they froze to death was one of the few hopeful thoughts he could cling to. "If you're looking for something, I'll offer my help." The female's voice finally broke through his concentration. He swung his head around, small icicles formed on the longer fur around his muzzle dancing as he finally answered. "Aye, I'll take you up on that offer." He replied, face tense from dread. "It's my boy, Slip. Seems he managed to get out of camp this morning. I think he wandered into Insurgent's territory," His voice trailed off for a moment, the words he spoke were shaky from panic. "If they haven't found 'em already he'll die in this cold, I'm certain of it. I-I need to make sure he's alright." The hound's wiry brow furrowed as he finished speaking. It was apparent that his intentions weren't to flat out find the youngster, but to make sure he hadn't perished in the weather. As long as he's safe... He thought, turning back towards the trail and trotting along once again. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Vanadis | Loner | Location: Unclaimed Territory Mentions: Roland(Directly) "Oh, hush. I tried, didn't I? Besides I doubt you'd want to be called little broad again instead of me mistakenly calling you kid, no?" Vanadis would pause from her pursuit of catching snowflakes, sticking her tongue out at the other in reaction to his words. Little broad was what he called her when she first stumbled into his store, and right before she made a fool of herself by freaking out from the sight of him. "Yuck, I like kid more than young broad. Whatever that means." She huffed out. "I get to call you Old Man if you get to call me kid though." She added, following after him quickly. Well, as quickly as she could. The snow was too big for Vanadis to really plow her way through, so she half hopped, half walked after him. His strides were much longer, travelling at a much quicker pace than Vanadis's, especially because of the snow. "Vanadis. Rabbit." "Huh?" She huffed out, closing the distance between them with a few hops before she stopped right next to him. Surprisingly, she didn't look tired at all from her efforts, nose twitching dramatically as she sniffed at the direction of Roland's gesture. Although it was a little delayed, she caught the scent as well, her mouth starting to water at he prospect of food. I haven't eaten in days. She thought, her tail starting to whip back and forth. As Roland continued after the trail Vanadis followed him in the same half walk, half hops as before, looking at him questioningly. "I have to be quiet, right? So i don't scare the rabbit away like that mouse." 0 players like this post! Like? |
