This RP is closed and has been remade here: LINK A feminine, monotone voice echoes through the halls of a suburban family home, "An estimated 250 dogs live at the plant itself, 225 in the city of Chernobyl, and hundreds more roam around, for a total of more than 1,000, according to SPCA International. Wolves and the need for food have driven the dogs from wooded areas surrounding the plant into the Exclusion Zone." Suddenly, a sharper female voice cuts in. "Don't watch something so depressing, sweetie. The puppies are fine." The screen goes black. setting music The city is picturesque from the television screen. Though living amongst the crumbling, overgrown, radioactive buildings is another hell entirely. Dogs whose ancestors were abandoned by their masters in order to escape the explosion generations ago still remain here to this day, too far into the Exclusion Zone to be saved by any humans residing outside of Chernobyl. Many have been born with birth defects, sometimes visible but more often affecting their minds, organs and lifespans. Two major packs have risen out of the dust, Abolition and Insurgent. The packs have always been at odds but due to the encroachment of wolves and low resources, space is low and tempers are at an all time high. Can they come together to overcome the odds or will their own greed tear them down?
Current season: Early Winter. [Frigid temperatures. Long nights, short and dark days.] Current major events: Time Skip!! 9/5 Two Abolition dogs have been killed by Insurgent pack members. This has caused unrest in both packs. A massive snow storm has swept over Chernobyl, bringing an early winter and a shortage of supplies.

Stoney | Loner | Insurgent Territory | Mentions: (Direct) Shadow, Quillion "What on earth is that?" Stoney heard the large dog say as he approached her. She had a gorgeous black coat, her fur standing out from the snowy surroundings."Is it a rabbit?" they said, approaching Stoney. From afar, they seemed large enough. But up close, they seemed so much larger. "It's a pup! What're you doing out here little one?" Stoney looked up, quite excited, yet decided to keep it to himself. "Oh! I'm lost. What are you doing here? The pup asked, unaware he was very close to a pack's camp. But how would he know about that? The larger, adult dog picked him up by the scruff, and started carrying him somewhere. Maybe to new friends! Stoney thought to himself, as making one friend will lead you to others. As the unknown dog carried him away, Stoney spotted a spotted dog, large, to be exact. He had a white coat splattered with black spots, Stoney have seen some dogs like him before. "Quill~! You're awake! I was starting to worry you had lost too much blood." the large dog said. Blood? What had happened? Stoney watched intently as they talked to each other, before the dark black dog started humming a lullaby. It somewhat resembled his own mother's singing, bringing back memories before their long journey to find a new home. And before long, the other dog had fallen into a slumber. Stoney was curious about the two dogs, so he figured to ask basic questions first. "What's your name? I'm Stoney!" he announced, in a soft voice. Not that he could make an un-soft one. He didn't understand half of what they were talking about in their conversation anyway. Leaving what? It was a flurry of questions in his head. But he decided best to stay silent, and wait. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Being| Insurgent Outskirts| Mentions- Bates, Luxnas, Stixx, Demesu Being stood still as Demesu cried out and then bolted for the exit. He didn't move as Luxnas shot after him and brought him back. "I caught him for you." Being smiled, then stepped over to Demesu, lowering his snout to the pinned dog's eye level. 'Have I... met you before?' he growled, his icy eyes boring into Demesu's. He then straightened, remembering something. That feeling of being watched, just before he met Bates. He bared his teeth in a smirk. The wind blew out of the door and sliced through his fur, giving him that fading-in-and-out look. Artemis| Insurgent Outskits| Mentions- Kardama Artemis heard the big dog start to follow her, striding ahead to make a small path for Arty. She kicked a clump of snow off of her back paw. 'Probably somewhere near my home, lets check in the forest!' She nodded towards the trees, where the snow was less thick. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Roland | Loner | Outside of Territories | Mentions; Vanadis [directly] "I'm a kid, you call me kid, you're an old man, I call you Old Man, it's fair and square! Unless you want me to call you broad." Roland raised a brow. "There are dogs older than I am, you know." He turned to look at her. "And I might be-" He stopped himself quickly, rethinking what he was going to say. "I am not a broad." This statement was more gruff than before. He'd probably had some serious internal conversation with himself prior to saying that. He leaned over as she came near, grabbing her by the scruff with surprising gentleness. He faced the truck and hoisted himself up, standing briefly on his hind legs, then placing his front paws onto the rusty bed. He dropped her onto some of the plant overgrowth, so that she wouldn't get cut by any of the corroded metal. "Stay here, be quiet, observe." Was all he said before pushing himself away from the truck, taking no more than a second to rebalance himself on all fours. He lowered his form, slouching considerably, and continued to place his paws carefully. He sniffed the air again. It's still nearby. Good, she'll be able to see. He took another precarious inhale, pinpointing the location of the rabbit with ease despite the layers and layers of fresh snow that might usually hide scents. It must have resurfaced from it's burrow after the storm. He moved forwards, eyes narrowing slightly, watching for the slightest of movements... And there it was. The careless twitch of a rabbit, accidentally revealing it's location by moving it's more saturated ears and eyes. He'd have to move quickly. Unlike rabbits, his fur did not turn white in the winter, so he would be much easier to spot. So, he edged closer to the rabbit, slowly but surely, until he was but a few yards away. He narrowed his eyes, watching it's movements carefully to ensure it had not noticed him, then lunged forwards. The little creature realized it's fate a split second too late, trying to move away before Roland's jaws snapped around it's back. Snow sprayed up around him as he slid across the slick road underneath the snow but he ignored it, giving the rabbit a final shake. It had been a quick, not so painless death for the rotund critter with minimal bloodshed. He shook his fur off, bounding back to the truck where Vanadis had- hopefully- been watching. He heaved himself up once more, paws placed on the bed of the truck. He dropped the rabbit in front of her, little stub tail wagging proudly behind him. "You watched, correct? Tell me something you noticed that ensured the capture of our meal." He didn't sound entirely proud though, his first priority being to confirm that the pup had gotten something out of it. Ahh, I hope I'm doing this right and that I don't sound like... I hope I'm not being too stringent. Cassiopeia | Loner | Insurgent Camp | Mentions: Curly [directly] Quillon [indirectly] Cassiopeia flickered into awareness. Her nose was pressed into the soft, golden fur of a larger dog that she didn't know. She lifted her head groggily, letting out a soundless yawn and trying to blink the sleep out of her eyes. As her surroundings came into focus, she seemed confused. The air was icy and bit her nose, but the scent of many other dogs is what really caught her off guard. And a sick, bloodied dog, somewhere in the area. Her snout wrinkled and she turned to face what she presumed had been her source of warmth in her sleep and the reason she hadn't just died out there in the cold. Her eyes studied the curly-furred adult with interest. "Who-" She stopped herself right there. Ugh, why does my voice sound like that?! She cleared her throat, sitting up quickly and puffing out her fuzzy little chest to try again. "Who are you? Where is my father?" She sounded... Demanding. Although, her memories of the past few days were blurry, and she honestly didn't really remember calling out for help. She'd just assumed that she had passed out in the cold because of hunger, and had been found by these dogs. Which was partially true. No worries. Father will certainly come looking for me! Her stomach grumbled rather loudly, causing her to flinch at the noise. She looked a little bit ashamed when she realized the sound had come from her and just how much hunger was gnawing away at her insides. "Say, have you got any food around here? I could eat a whole entire HORSE right about now!" She sounded demanding again. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Demesu | Location: Insurgent Borders | Mentions: Stixx, Bates, Being, Luxnas A yelp of fear sounded from Demesu as he was caught in the other dog's maw. He had half the mind to turn and snap his face off before he was soon pinned and faced with an even larger dog. Fake anger was quick to show on his face, a front to betray the horrible fear he felt in the presence of these dogs. Though fear was quick to overtake his features, his icy eyes bore into the giant dog's visage, familiarity taking over his mind. "I saw you." He whispered, barely loud enough to be heard, his eyes never falling from the husky mix's face. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Luxnas | Insurgent Outskirts | Being, Bates, Demesu, Stixx Luxnas stood proudly over his catch, his chest puffing out further as Being's expression brightened as his gaze went to Lux. What should we do with you?" Luxnas tilted his head, his expression thoughtful. "We could eat them both. I'm hungry... Or we could let them go then chase them down." Luxnas shrugged. "Either one sounds good to me." Slate | Insurgent-Abolition Border | Reo, Aramis, Tok Slate looked up at the raven, wincing as his loud caw battered his eardrums. Shadow | Den (Insurgent Camp) | Quillion, Stoney Shadow looked up as the pup spoke, the shock on their face increasing slightly. "Well hello there Stoney, I thought you were asleep. My name is Shadow." Their head was still resting on Quillion's neck, so they were eye-level with the pup. "You have lovely eyes little pup." They gently touched their nose to Stoney's. "Currently we are in my den that I hope to share with my friend Quillion here once he gets better. We are both part of the Insurgent pack, who is at odds with the Abolition pack. Kardama| Loner | Location: Outside the Territories (Forest). Mentions: Artemis. "Probably somewhere near my home, lets check in the forest!" Kardama grunted in agreement as the pup mentioned the wooded area. Finally. She thought with a bit of relief, happy to be returning to her own home. The feelings in her chest were conflicted, however. Part of her wanted to be rid of the pup, hoping the little lass would have just scampered off towards home. The other part wanted to make sure the wolfdog was found by her family. Either way, she wasn't entirely pleased with the brat sticking around. She lifted her head to sniff at the gentle breeze for a moment before trudging along forwards. As the snow thinned along the ground and the lighting began to dim from the dense trees above, Kardama came to a stop. She peered around at her surroundings for a long while before speaking. "Does your family come here often?" She asked, turning to stare down at Artemis. "Would there be any place they would come to look for you?" The words rumbled out of her throat as she spoke. Her eyes flickered away from the pup and her scarred nose twitched slightly. Wolves? The scent was familiar, and didn't bother the loner too much. Perhaps it could even be the parents of this kid. Ferrer | Abolition Healer | Location: Abolition Territory - Abolition Border. Mentions: Finch, Loops, Sigge. "UM i have a predicament!!" Ferrer's head tilted slightly as the cat yowled the words out. He grunted softly, recognizing the feline almost immediately. Little herb thief... He thought, his face scrunching slightly from annoyance. "Predicament? Where did ya come by a pup?" He asked as he neared, not going too close in fear of scaring the smaller creature away. Under any other circumstance he probably would have eaten them. He sniffed the air curiously, raising a curly eyebrow as he studied the little lass. They didn't carry any pack-scent, at least none that he knew of. Their lack of smell was actually quite disturbing to the hound. Where had they come from? "You look cold, lass. Are you alright?" He directed this question towards the puppy, dipping his head as to not scare her. It was an attempt at making himself seem less of a threat, though it did very little. His narrowed gaze shot back towards the cat. It didn't steal this too, did it? He huffed quietly as the idea came to mind. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Aramis | Insurgent Scout | Location: Insurgent Border Mentions: Slate, Tok(Directly) Reo "I am truly sorry for what I have done, I lost control of myself. I can promise that it won't happen again." Her eyes narrowed at the silver brute's words, but she said nothing, turning around to pickup the rabbit she had caught earlier. At first, Aramis paused, waiting for Slate to walk ahead of her in case he freaked out again and she had to resort to shoving him back home, which luckily, hadn't happened yet. It was like that for a while, Aramis waling a few paces behind Slate while she resisted the urge to cast a wary look over her shoulder, back at the Abolition brute and his fallen delta. Once they had gotten further into Insurgent territory however, she had picked up her pace until she was in front of him instead, her steps stiff legged and still not saying a word to Slate. We're already at risk of going at war with the first killing, now what the hell is going to happen Her eyes widened at another thought. And that puppy Isa had brought homeβ he was from Abolition too. Gods, if they do't find out Insurgent has one of their young in their keep that'd be a miracle. That is, if Isa still had it. Aramis failed to understand why she even brought it home, she must've known it was from abolition from its scent. She shook the thought away with a huff, casting an irritated glance towards a raven high in the sky as it cawed loudly at them. Probably here for Jade's body, no? The reminder of how the dame had died made Aramis shudder, growling softly into the hare's fluff. How could he justβ his excuse is that he lost control of himself?? Aramis's steps would stop abrubtly, letting her hare drop to the snow softly before she spun around, now facing Slate, albeit a foot or two away. If he had 'lost control' like he said, she'd have to be cautious. "Why?" She spat out coldly, her ears pinned to her skull as she stared at him with an icy, narrowed gaze. What she was questioning him about was clear, at least to her it was. Why the hell did you do it? Vanadis | Loner | Location: Unclaimed Territory Mentions: Roland(Directly) Vanadis went limp in Roland's jaws, allowing herself to be picked up before beings let down on the soft undergrowth in the rusty truck bed. He was surprisingly gentle in the gesture too, despite how gruff he looked. And the rumors bout him. She thought to herself quietly. She went to take a step closer to the edge but paused as she noticed the sharp edges of the corroded metal, staying where she was with a contempt huff. "Stay here, be quiet, observe." Vanadis opened her mouth to say something, but snapped her jaws shut, nodding vigorously instead to show that she was going to stay as quiet as possible. Vanadis watched him, replicating his movement's by falling into her own crouch, apprehension pricking at her coat as she watched his red form stalk across the white-washed ground. Vanadis can just imagine her parent's faces once she tells them that she watched the big and scary Ravager hunt, let alone meeting him and coming out alive. If i see them again. She thought a little sadly, before shaking the thought away with a small, high pitched growl. Roland said to observe! Vanadis told herself, just in time to see Roland stalking towards something. She didn't know what he was stalking after, the rabbit blending into the white ground enough so that Vanadis couldn't see it yet, so she stared at him quizzically. Then, he lunged forwards, and Vanadis finally saw the hare he was going after. She watched with wide eyes as he sprinted forward, catching the hare just as it became aware of him. For a senior he moves really fast! She thought, an impressed, albeit amused look on her face as she did so. Excited, her tail wagged quickly as he bounded back, the puppy rearing on her hind legs repeatedly so that her paws fell on the truck bed over and over again with a thud. "You're so fast! It didn't even see you at first." She said in the most hushed voice she could, eyes rounded in awe as she sniffed the hare he plopped in front of her. "You watched, correct? Tell me something you noticed that ensured the capture of our meal." Vanadis calmed down, lowering herself on her haunches as she blinked thoughtfully. "You didn't growl like I did?" She said a little unsurely, tilting her head as she looked at him for any sign of approval. She could have brought up the fact that he had sniffed out where the hare was as well, but she was more concentrated on how quiet he was than anything else. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Koroneis| Insurgent Border| Mentions- Aramis, Slate, Reo (Indirectly) "TOK!" she yelped, running after him. His black form flittered away in an annoyingly fast way. Tok The raven listened closely. "Why what?" he said in their language. He was genuinely curious about two things; Why there was a dead body around here, and why there was so much hostility and terror and anger in the air. Slate | Insurgent Territory | Tok, Aramis Slate ignored the raven for the moment, turning instead to Aramis, slumping into a submissive posture. "Why?" Aramis | Insurgent Scout | Location: Insurgent Border Mentions: Slate, Tok(Directly) "Why what?" Her head spun around at the sudden, strange sounding voice, her gaze boring into the same raven she glared at earlier. She stared at it questioningly, her ears pinned back and eyes wide. I haven't gone mad as well... Have I? It was undoubtedly that birds, but she didn't know they could speak their language. Aramis knew that raven's were very intelligent creatures, and she knew that some animals like cats could speak their language, but a bird? Never even thought about it. Are ravens always this nosy? She thought, eyes narrowing. She didn't know what to do or say for a second, simply staring at it before she'd curl her teeth back in a snarl. Unsure of what else to do, she spoke to it like she would with any other dog. "This is none of your business, bird!" She barked out at it, unsure if the raven could understand her. Aramis's gaze would stay trained onto the bird before Slate's voice would catch her attention, the dame flinching as she turned to look at him. "It is as I told the other dog... I lost control... She was circling me... I started circling, and then I blacked out. Next thing I know I'm standing over her cooling corpse with blood all over me." Aramis simply listened, her icy gaze never wavering from the brute as he pressed himself to the ground. It looked as though Aramis turned his words over in her head, quiet for a few moments before she tsked, head shaking as she took a step back. Even though he explained, she still couldn't understand. "Nonsense!" She finally spat, staring down at him. "You lost control?? How could you lose control?? Explain me that!" She paused before speaking again. "She had every damn right to circle you, you were on her territory, Slate. Instead of circling her back you should have retreated back to our territory, or do you lack enough sense to do that? There was no reason why you remained in their territory long enough to lose yourself." Her voice was louder, much louder now as her words rolled out of her maw in harsh barks and snarls, her ears pulled back. As she did so, she was stepping back, almost defensively. I just wanted to catch some damn food and that's it. Not any of this. Aramis's paws dug deep into the snow as she repeated her previous thought. "We could be thrown into war for what you have done, Slate. Do you not understand?" 0 players like this post! Like? |
