Welcome to River’s Edge Lion RP!The rules are simple:1. Be kind 2. Follow all Lioden rules 3. No “God” mode (your lions are not invincible) 4. Chat with others if you want to gravely injure someone or kill off another character 5. Fade to black for anything “inappropriate” 6. Have fun! I would like to go off of Lioden events to bring the game in so that includes Lioden lore! |

Lyla | 3 years | Bi | Den area | Mentions: Mud and Amethyst Padding on, she looked back to see both lions following her. They followed the river upstream to a waterfall with a clearing all around it. “Home.” she paused. It was quite beautiful to look at. The mist gently rose off of the crashing water making the surrounding air cooler. She turned back to the two lionesses, “Welcome to my humble abode, my little oasis. The prey won’t hear us over the water.” She padded a little ways forward where an opening to her den was covered with plant life, the vines covering the majority of it. “We can go inside or stay out here. Up to you!” Lyla was proud of the home she had created. The inside of her den was lined with fresh moss that she collected quite often. She had a nice, large bed area that was covered in the pelts and feathers from old prey. Nothing went to waste when it came to hunting. She liked to pull back the vines when she was in her den to let the sun shine in during the day and the stars at night. She want too fond of the dark, especially when the hyenas were in the area. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Mud | 4 years | Bi | Den area | Mentions: Lyla & Amethyst The brown lioness smiled at the beautiful sight infront of her; a waterfall with a clearing around her. The sun shone through onto the backs of the lions and the birds tweeted around. As Lyla turned to them and welcomed them she happily noticed the feeling of relaxation and pride. It was good to know that the prey wouldn't hear them over the crashing water, it would be easier to hunt. "Maybe we should go inside, although the water is cooling the sun hits our backs in an agonising way..." 0 players like this post! Like? |

Lyla | 3 years | Bi | Den area | Mentions: Mud and Amethyst With a smile, she shook her head in agreement. “Yes, come on in!” She pushed the vines aside and padded in, her tail swishing as she went in. Her favorite spot was to the right so she sat and turned back to the lionesses. “I’ve been in these lands for a few years now so I’ve been able to learn some of the ways of the animals. Right now isn’t a great time to hunt since it’s the hottest part of the day. Only the desperate animals are out right now!” She chuckled, “We aren’t desperate! You are welcome to stay in my den to escape the heat or take a dip in the river. Once the sun begins to set we can come up with a plan to hunt.” 0 players like this post! Like? |

[Amethyst , 2 + 9 months, Lesbian, From Lyla's den, mentions: Mud + Lyla.] She followed along with the two lionesses into Lyla's den, gazing at her den. She listened attentively when they spoke, sure to remember their speakings. "A hunting plan..?" Amethyst tilted her head as she never made hunting plans when she goes to hunt. She sat there confused but thought of a plan being better than nothing. [Sorry I havent replied in some times / quickly I have a few troubles happening Irl! ] 0 players like this post! Like? |

Lyla | 3 years | Bi | Den area | Mentions: Mud and Amethyst She smiled, “Well, the herds here are scarce at this time. They are traveling back from their migration as the storms roll in. It will be some time before the wet season fully comes back and brings the herds with it. That being said, hunting with a plan is the best way that I have found to have a successful hunt. We have to plan where to go, what we are looking for, and how to cut them off from the others.” She laughed a little at herself, “Sorry, I’m very detailed oriented. I know instincts will take over, but it’s always good to start somewhere. Normally I do this alone.” It was probably time to share the ‘“rules” of these lands to the two newcomers. “I don’t want to sound too pushy, but there is a balance to these lands that mustn’t be altered. To insure that, I like to follow the ‘rules’ you could call them, of my ancestors: We must only take what we need, we must be respectful to the prey because they are giving their life to help sustain our own, and we must protect our home including those prey animals who live here. Mindless killing and nonsense is pointless. There have been many kings who think they can take whatever they please and it destroys their home and family. I two am from a broken kingdom…” she trailed off. “I’m sorry that was a lot.” She blushed a little, embarrassed that she had been rambling. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Nyx Moonwhisper | 3 years | aroace | Den area | Mentions: none, open The sun heated her back uncomfortably and her throat was dry. She probably should have stayed in the shade she found under a bush, but she wanted to get a feel for the territory, before she attempted to hunt here. She also wanted to find some water. With a slight breeze catchend she the scent of water. She followed it slowly and found a river. She moved so closed to the edge that the water covered her front paws, to cool a little off a little. It felt good on a hot day like this. She took a few deep sips, then she stepped back and looked around. Maybe she could stay here for a little while. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Mud | 4 years | Bi | Den area | Mentions: Lyla & Amethyst As Lyla talked about her hunting technique that included making a plan before going hunting. Mud thought that it was a smart technique as she often just ran after the prey after some hiding to get to know the situation. Maybe this new thing could help her in the future and she hadn't hunter in a group for a long time either, which would be fun to try again. Mud smiled as Lyla blushed and mumbled somrthing about her rambling and being sorry for it. The lioness was truely just sweet as honey, maybe her tribe name should have been Honey that tastes sweet or honey from flying bees? She didnt know, anyway it woild have been the leader's decission what her full name was going to be. Luckily the mothers of the litters were alowed to choose the main name/word of the cub, her own mother chose Mud as hers, probably because of her fur colour. Really it wasnt the nicest name but atleast she felt connected to nature by it. "Don't worry, stories fall like waterfalls sometimes, it is nice to learn about your cultures and why you ended up the way you did." Mud liked to use references to nature, it was a very common thing to do back in her tribe and although she tried to find her own ways she often came back to the ways she had been taught to. After she finished speaking she turned around to Amethyst who had only muttered a few words and had waited for Lyla to explain her hunting idea. "I'd also like to know about you and if you want to learn about me, then I will teach you about myself and my old clans culture as well" The brown lioness smiled as she spoke, hopefully the others saw her as friendly as she saw them. 0 players like this post! Mysterion | 5 years | Bi| Desert | Mentions : None, Open Mysterion walked around aimlessly panting a bit from the heat of the sun burning a bit. "God dammitttt!!!" He roared clearly upset about something. He picked up his pace spotting a tree in the distance. He eventually arrived to the tree and hopefully searched around for water and let out a roar of anger as he couldn't find any water. "God dammit of course!" He roared unable to find water. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Lyla | 3 years | Bi | Den area | Mentions: Mud and Amethyst Good! This Lion seemed to accept her! She thought to herself. She smiled as Mud turned to the quiet lioness. “I would love to get to know more about both of you!” It was so nice to talk to other lions instead of her normal conversation with the wind or the rushing water. She often spoke to the world around her because, well, what else would she talk to? She sat, head tilted slightly, waiting for either lion to talk. ((Just a heads up, the three lionesses interacting right now are by a waterfall so it’s offaly loud! I’m not ignoring either of your characters!)) 1 player likes this post! Like? Mud | 4 years | Bi | Den area | Mentions: Lyla & Amethyst (Tw child loss, just so it doesn't trigger anyone reading this, sorry if it does <3) Mud smiled again when Lyla answered, as Amethyst seemed a little vary. She swallowed, sat to face both of the lionesses, and began speaking: "I was born to my mother Sun that shines brightly, and my dad Falcon whose cry is loud, in a tribe ruled by Star that lights up the sky. The long names are typical in our pride and are given at birth. As I told you earlier, my mother named me Mud laying in Puddles. I wasn't the only cub of the litter; my two brothers, Stone (that never breaks) and Feather (painted in brown), were always by my side. We were students together, and as we grew up, they were there to offer me advice, although I was the oldest. I became a hunter, together with Feather, while Stone became a warrior. A hunters job was to feed the Tribe. We would usually go hunting in groups of three and take our students with us to teach them the ways of the hunt. I had a student myself, her name was Flight of little Bird, I never gave her too difficult tasks, she was close to my heart. A sister I had always wished for as a young cub. I will never forget the look of sadness that was portrayed on her face when I left. .. My time wasn't spent alone however, Silence (that fills the void) was, or is, my companion. He was the most respectful and protective mate a lioness in my tribe could have dreamed of. I loved him like I loved the sun, and he loved me the same. Silence, too like my brother, was a warrior. If there were problems at the borders, many of the Warriors left to fight while us hunters gathered to protect the camp with the guards of the camp. On one specifically evil border attack from a neighbouring clan, Silence was attacked by two lions at the same time and hit in the head, so that he lost his consciousness... my tribe mates had to pull him back to camp after winning the fight. He woke up 2 nightfalls later. I thought he would die, it was the worst I had felt my whole life or so i thought then." Mud stopped for a moment to collect herself, her voice had gotten quieter. After taking a deep breath she continued "He woke up with terrible pain, but he was alive. Silence had trouble speaking, so he tried to speak with gestures, it wasn't easy to understand, but we managed. He was heart-broken when he wanted to tell me things but couldn't and just had to act through the silence. Ironic that his name could become such a true statement about him." The brown lioness spoke through gritted teeth as if his name could have been a bad omen to what would happen. Still, she began again. "Now, I've been talking too much, sorry about that... the reason I am not part of my tribe anymore is because Star's daughter River blamed me falsely and got me exiled from the territory. All because Silence chose me as his companion and not her! She was jealous, as many other lionesses were. I got the largest, strongest, and most good-looking male of the tribe, I was lucky and happy to say the least. She made my life a living thunderstorm all because she couldn't have him. River flirted with him whenever she could, much to my annoyance, of course. He rejected every attempt she made to get close to him, and every time she tried something, he reassured me that I was the only lioness he would ever love. Oh, how I loved him." Small tears began to run down Mud's cheeks "At my exile, the whole tribe watched how I left the territory into a bordering one. My parents cried, especially my mother Sun. They knew that the accusation that I had brought food to another clan was a lie and that I was thrown our just because of River. My brothers had divided opinions; Feather was on my side and had tried to defend me in front of Star, Stone however had always liked River and spoke out against me, supporting River's lie. He yelled after me that I should not call him brother ever again, as I betrayed my tribe... It was harsh to hear that from his mouth after we had been quite close... Silence couldn't tell me any last words. He just cried into my shoulder and groomed my fur. I cried too. I hadn't had time to tell him that I was expecting his cubs. I wish I had. When I left, I looked back there were only a couple lions sitting there. My cubs were born in a to me unknown territory and I had to leave them to go hunting. When I came back, they were all dead... all four off them; Pebble, Sand, Frost and Silence (whom I named after his father). They were the only thing I had left of him, and I lost them aswell. I could only do so much as grief and bury them. If I could, I would have exchanged my life for theirs. I wandered as far as I could, away from the evil that seemed to have followed me like my own shadow. Now I am here and maybe I'll find happiness although it seems far out of my reach..." Mud finished her story, looking at her paws (Gosh it got dark there, sorry about that, hope its alright <3) 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 20/07/23 @ 13:31:23 by 🦉𝕆𝕨𝕝🦉 (#406677) |

Lyla | 3 years | Bi | Den area | Mentions: Mud and Amethyst Absolutely devastating! she thought to herself. This lioness had been through so much heartbreaking in what seemed like such a short amount of time. She gently rubbed Mud’s shoulder with her cheek. “Oh Mud, I’m so sorry for all of your loss. You picked the perfect name for your little ones.” She wasn’t sure how to talk about them since she had only just met this lioness. “Where I come from, we believe that those who have past on stick by our side and strengthen us when we need it the most. Your cubs may be gone, but they will forever live on through you. I pray that Tefnut blesses you once more with a healthy litter when you are ready. And if that day never comes, I hope she looks to you fondly. I can tell that you are a great mother.” She hoped that she hadn’t offended Mud. “My story is not as interesting as yours. I came from a pride where the king was greedy. I would never claim him as my father because he never acted like one. If the hunters came back empty handed he wouldn’t hesitate to sacrifice them when the season came, even if they redeemed themselves. He was ruthless and killed any cub that was not his own or didn’t look exactly how he wanted them to. I’ve heard stories of mutants born to my pride, but never laid eyes on one. He would always kill whatever wasn’t perfect. There were stories of a lioness who escaped with her cub that was mutated, but as the story goes, he hunted her down and ended both of their lives.” She paused for a moment, “I was one of the lucky ones. I escaped when he sent me to be sacrificed. The waters had dried up and the herds were gone, so it was no wonder that our hunting party came back empty handed. We believed that we could redeem ourselves by bringing twice as much back, but that wasn’t the case. When the portal opened we were sent to bring him more power.” She looked up, realizing she sounded crazy, “My pride believes in the gods and I’ve seen first hand that they are real! I know I sound like a crazy lion or that I had too many herbs, but I swear on my ancestors that they are real.” She smiled, “Menhit saved me from being sacrificed. She taught me to use herbs to heal and I am forever in debt to her. My father was much like hers so I try to follow in her teachings… I’m sorry! I’m rambling again. My heart breaks for my pride, but that king is an evil that I never want to face again.” 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 21/07/23 @ 07:47:30 by 🥬 Kale 🥬 (#65142) |

Mallory | 1 year 9 months | demisexual | desert | Mentions: Mysterion She picked up her pace. Maybe if she is a bit faster, she can leave this desert behind today. Though she probably should make a break soon, just until it isn’t so hot anymore. And she probably should find some water… She heard a roar in the distance. Was she in another lions territory? She didn’t thought anybody would live here then she decided to cross the desert. If this really was somebody’s territory, she saw only two possibilities: she either leaves or talks to the lion. Leaving would mean she had to go back and besides she didn’t even knew where the territory begins. Talking was the best option she had. The lion didn’t seem too far away and it was the direction she was heading to. It took her a short while until she could see the lion. She observed him from afar at first, deciding how best to approach him. It was a primal lion with dark markings and many scars. (Hope it is ok that I made another character.) 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 22/07/23 @ 14:44:34 by Demonic Fox (#395242) |
