They continued walking and Mud became more cautious about her surroundings. It wasn't like she thought he would jump out of the thicket but it was better to be safe. When she saw the birds fly off and Lyla stayed the same happy lion she on the other paws grew more nervous. How loud must he have been to scare off such a big flock of birds?

"Are you sure he's safe?", it was a quiet mumble that Mud sent towards Lyla

Lyla turned back to Mud, not as confident this time, “Y-Yeah he should be fine…” she trailed off. “Maybe we should wait a little ways away from him. Just to be sure.” She wasn’t so sure of herself anymore. Mud bass been so nice to her and she somewhat expected the male to act similarly. But Mud’s question gave her a reality check. There were two of them, but the male was definitely larger.

Uneasy at Lyla's change in demeanor; the other lioness had gotten more nervous aswell, she stepped from on paw to another. Suddenly the sun felt a lot warmer and Mud got hot under her pelt. The threat was making her feel uncomfortable and she would have rather just turned around, still that would have possibly lead to another bad encounter. They should get on good terms with the male now and not later.

"It's okay Lyla, we'll just go see him and find out then. We're two, he's one. If we can't fight we'll run."

Lyla let out a friendly chuff in Astraios’ direction. “If you decide you don’t want to be alone any more you can find me by the river. I hope these lands treat you right.”

She turned back to Mud. “He seems to be too busy with terrorizing the prey around here to notice us. Maybe we should head back for some of the leftover carcass.”

She appeared out from her den at the hot morning sun. "Well, It's morning. I guess I need to atleast try to find a rabbit." The skinny lioness started walking around the vast desert of her territory. She found a few crows and killed one. "It's something. I guess" She began to eat when a massive jolt of sunlight hit her. "Ugh! I guess it's gonna be really hot today." She said. She looked around, making sure no one was near, and continued eating.

Mud lowered her head in an understanding matter, the male lion had seemed unbothered by them and their apology, so staying here wouldn't change anything between them. With one last glance to the lion she turned around and took the same path back through some shrubs towards the cave, Lyla's Den. Along the way she wasn't exactly sure what to talk to Lyla about so she just decided to learn a couple new things about the lioness if possible.

"Lyla, it might sound silly or out of place, but would you mind to answer a few simple questions? I slept in the same Den as you and only know your name and a bit of your background when I'd love to know much more. Only if you'd be alright with answering them though, and not everything has to be answered if you don't wish to..."

She looked back to Mud and smiled. Circling back, she now walked side by side with her as they continued on. “Well, there’s not much to tell. I had a ‘loving’ pride,” she scoffed, “where it was the king’s way or die. Not much of a home if you ask me. My mother dreamed of a better life for us, but she wasn’t so lucky…” she frowned for just a moment thinking about her mother. “But that was many moons ago. Now I’m here and on my own-“ she smiled again, “well not really alone anymore!” She brushed into Mud. “”Even if you don’t stay very long, I have enjoyed your company friend. So what about you? What secrets do you hold?”
