Community Update


Aside from monthly event news posts and the 2nd Friday of each month being focused on art/coding updates, all other Fridays are centered around the community!

Poll Update: Raffle Lioness System


The Google Forms poll regarding the raffle lioness system has now concluded. Thank you all for submitting your feedback!

We have gone through the results and removed any instances of an account submitting multiple responses. We have compiled the results into bar graphs for each question, showing how many players voted for a specific rating for each question. As a reminder, selecting the rating of 1 for a question meant you did not like the idea being proposed, while selecting the rating of 10 for a question meant that you really liked the idea being proposed.

Below, you can find images of the bar graphs, with the question and results translated into text in a spoiler beneath each image.

Disclaimer: Please keep in mind that we may not be adding all of these options. This poll was intended to act as a survey to get a feel for the community's preferences. We'll be discussing which ones we will actually implement among our team next week.

Art Bug Fixes


* Fixed the Cultist Tailwrap decors not showing up on Adult Males
* Fixed Mark of the Abyss and Mark of the Elysium decors not showing up on Adult Males
* Fixed new eye colours missing for a few mutation stages (Leopon and Tigon cubs, Lethals)
* Fixed Phantom Rosette not displaying for all mutations

Coding Bug Fixes & Adjustments


* Edited the item descriptions for the Decennial and Feline marking applicators to reflect the addition of Feline 10.
* Markings secured with an Ochre Gnawrock should no longer be overwritten by a random rosette. Note that this only applies to breedings that take place after this news post.
* Shamash has added a security guard to the Preservers Shop so players can no longer sneakily buy items if they do not have the shop unlocked.
* Using Amusement items from your hoard will now properly log their usage and any stats gained.
* Using Breeding items will no longer generate a mysterious '9' in your user log.

As a heads up to players, any artwork-based suggestion topics (bases, eyes, marking shapes, etc.) that contain broken images will be locked, as it is not possible for our artists to recreate anything without an actual image. We encourage players who have posted suggestion topics to revisit their suggestions and ensure the images are working! We strongly recommend against hosting images or files of any type on Discord, as Discord has disabled the ability to use hosted assets for longer than 24 hours. @Sani I agree, I've found that the best way to make change happen in many games. I'm personally more fond of the stud and extra 365 RL than the chased personally. I think it'll solve the actual "problem" about markings not spreading, because that seemed to be what started this discussion?

I don't think I could give an actual true opinion on the chased option without knowing what the chased pool number is like right now, I think that's like the deciding factor for me personally, because if the chased pool is actually super massive I don't think people would need to be concerned about people blowing money to try and chase them down. But that's ONLY if the pool is massive. If it's kinda small then I'd be against it 100%

It just feels like people are being incredibly dismissive of other people's thoughts and opinions on the matter if they don't agree. Nobody's opinion is more important than another's, and everyone who voted in the poll cares about it too. Lots of passive aggressive comments... makes me sad :(

Am a little confused about people who want to raise the price for impressing RLs though? lol kinda made me laugh

I think staff should take into account just how many new players are voting for stuff like 4, and 8 and against options like 7. These people haven't been on LD long, likely haven't sunk the amount of money in supporting the game as vet players and definitely haven't sunk in the time.

It may be controversial to say, but their opinions do not hold as much weight as older, established players IMO. Who cares if the game goes tits up if you've spent no money on it and you've only been here a few months? You can just dip and go to the next game, easy peasy.

Just sayin'. Option 4 is hilariously bad, but if you wanna add it, It'll be fun the watch the fireworks I guess.

I'm happy to see the claim system so popular. I think it's a great option to ensure the RL goes to an active account. In fact most of the options are popular lol.

Let's not forget at the end of the day, winning a RL is not "hard", it's 100% luck. No one is entitled an RL any more or less than someone else regardless of how they voted in the poll, so instead of saying people voted but don't get the consequences or what it'll do to the market etc just take a step back and try to consider the point that at its current state the raffle is SO dependent on the winner, it can become so frustrating to obtain traits that some are desparately willing to consider *any* change, and that's totally fair. I don't fault them for it.

Having said that, NCLs containing a few traits bypasses a lot of said frustration and seems like a win/win to me.

Also while I love the stud idea still keep in mind the few selected winners will most likely only end up with potates overall. Yet though it is more opportunities to pass a trait here or there. Ain't nobody getting a clone from these guys haha.

I think the above 2 points combined make a good compromise for updating the RL system.

I feel like if you guys are going to add things, I hopefully will be looked at the votes like some things got 40+% very prefered, while other things only got 20% prefered
I personally don't like the adding another rlc for players who have 365+ rollovers, simply because the rlc market is already poor with so many lines being available it'll just make it more cramped, but that's my opinion

Can't wait to see more about these features! It's always sad when lines end up on inactive accounts or are kept private (it's their choice, but it still sucks but oh well can't do anything against it)

I feel like people that voted for the release of full RL copies in explore have never been into the RLCs breeding side of this game before (tbh I think I would have voted to get that change too if I didn't start RLC breeding myself).

I think that wanting more chances of winning an RL is completely understandable, but i've always seen RLs as special and unique prizes and even thought they can be cloned with a crunchy worm, only one person can own the true original one. Having more copies released of one RL will bring away what makes the original RL so special and I'm afraid that such change will also seriously hurt the RL and RLC market (RLC breeding it's already very expensive and frustrating and we don't really need the market to drop as well).

I've seen people complaining about some RLs been kept private, and although I understand it can be annoying, at the end of the day the winner of the prize is free to do as they wish with it and doesn't have to share it if they don't want too. And for the problem of the marks not being spread, I think that RL studs and the release of NCL with some of the RL traits would be better solutions than releasing multiple copies of one RL.

Players are speaking up because they want to play and want something worth spending currency on.

We may call them "Raffle Lionesses" when generated by the game itself, but these are essentially high BO 15/15 traits in some cases with rare slots.
RL with 13-14/15 BO used to be rma'd in the last 2 slots (if markings) to creare variants with higher BO counts for rosettes or other BO markings.
We got RLC mixing & other ways of creating something new from popular RLC studding and trying to ensure even crunchy fail litters were nice, and i'm sure some players will have fun spending game resources in Oasis instead of engaging with the community sellers (or resellers trying to list set cost Oasis supplies at higher prices because they're counting on someone else being nice & willing to buy from a player instead of making the most of their resources).
High BO on its own isn't too enticing unless it's pretty, unique, popular, a cohesive design etc but are common enough that many seeking heirs now expect cohesion at the lowest price points.

It's not nice and not good for players to feel that nothing's worth spending time or currency on, we're all dealing with made up values that can be anchored with occasional set costs (by the game/devs in Oasis) but when the game gets a reputation that nothing is worth spending money on it has to either adapt (is this not what this is?) or listen and provide a playstyle for everyone to keep its community engaged.
It's not unreasonable to say or feel that chased RL are providing 'RLChasers' a way to sink currency into explore at the expense of literally anything except solo RL hunting (Korobela is no longer month-locked to July, it's craftable year-round so no chance for supply down cost up at other times of year, just if you get lucky & someone forgets to relist more when someone else was buying / looking) including personal designs to work on in a breeding market.
The game may survive a bit but anyone dismissing concerns in my opinion isn't really thinking of RL as the high BO goals they are and what effects no longer caring about or being able to afford/justify pursuing those goals will have on their own ability to sell items and play the way they want to.

Many challenging, expensive, long projects for players keeping themselves occupied involve creating a unique full BO design including a full marking stack.
Typically paired with early-rep'ing & re-kinging design steps as using outside studs inevitably leads to either the stud being bored or busy with poor timing, someone chose traits rare enough there are none available, if available stud may be earning enough to rep in another direction before you'd gotten what you need, or the player is trying to keep things exclusive until done. That creates a market for groupies/G1 stat reps mut reps etc - if players are stuck building those designs or gave up midway through due to poor rng or inability to continue earning resources they may not need an endgame rep yet.
Adapt fine sure but 'the markets in shambles' & yet lets release full designs for players to be happy with without acknowledging that fewer traits still give grinders something to work on while players who don't have time/money/energy to mimic that grind can still get something pretty for 'literally no effort.'

I don't think it's a bad thing to create an entirely self-capable playing rhythm of own resources into own goals or project and definitely have retreated there before but when they inevitably pick their head up to see how others are doing or start investigating to see why magic insta-resources on trading center are no longer happening they maaaay not like what they see.


Generally what players are willing to spend currency on when calculating worth are expensive hard to re-create things.
There's always nostalgia and impulse purchases, especially in a competitive environment (where sometimes everyone's stressed because they may not want to undersell which may trigger others to competitively overpay) but when players find out later they've spent hard earned funds (whether purchased with real world resources or earned through time spent) on something that others may get/re-create for less (not always jealousy or it was mine first more so ah crap I calculated at least 30 attempts before someone else could get this BO base with all these traits but it's all random so someone could succeed in 1 try or not for literal years' worth of saved up resources and/or time) or not worth it they get very discouraged and sometimes quit/leave...
that's not a good thing- it's not more chances for you, it's less supporters for the game.



Feel free to consider RLC always an inexpensive fair random equal chance system and look at it in its own vacuum.
Please don't bother complaining when you can no longer afford to play how you want (whether insta-gratification or max potential chasing through ibf or being able to clean-rep and stat chase or afford to make the most of expensive heats or item reselling/flipping or whatever) because established players aren't willing to pay out of season prices for breeding items to create their own designs they know they're only chasing from nostalgia.

Please, above all, even if getting a kick out of commenting or arguing-

It won't be a quick 1k-3.5k+ months' resources' worth or something cool for a new player anymore because eh got that for 1 explore step & reading the claim wiki. It won't redistribute resources except as an exception because most calculator players won't buy or budge. Only 'something cool' 'oooh that's my style' & oop there they go back on hiatus (which can spread resources to a new set of players later in time if they ever bother returning.) Breeding items pricing averages aren't doubling out of season except on outliers or if someone tweaks and decides to splurge on something now rather than waiting for months for the items to come back in shop. Instant gratification and grinding have to be balanced to keep players having fun and provide something to string along over time unless the goal is one last hurrah and system shutdown.

I really don't mind engagement of any kind especially if anyone optimistic wishes to take a sentence in a new exciting way (are you a future RL Hunter??) as it's all good to keep players caring/concerned, but I don't think abject apathy or 'alright giving up' is good for the company's bottom line.

Mimicking a gatcha like micro transaction burst through constant temp new releases won't work in a game mostly based on waiting for monthly events to return & grinding through horrible rng.
Player retention & new players (you really don't want players spreading that this game isn't worth spending real money on, any more than they already are...)
Or... will it?
New players age into game appropriate every day, maybe they're counting on the next gen carrying them through.

4) would bring the game down entirely. No one would really buy GB as its value would drop too. Everything would drop. Also not to mention how horrible it is that the winner of the RCL will not be the only user with the RCL. It will drop in value like dwarfs and pies

7) not a good idea either. It will make new players feel left out and theres also just no need. The RCL value will also drop. Theres players like me who have played for ages but havent RO that much, so its unfair.

1) what if they player goes offline for a few days? Thats unfair. Just automatically give the RCL to the player. The disappointment the player would feel when RO to only realise they missed it. Not a good idea.

Overall, the site entirely would plummet down. Old players would leave and new players in the future would mess with the currency values. In fact, there needs to be something put in to make dwarfs and pies rarer again. The value of GB is messed up and needs to be fixed again.

Its up to you, devs. Just know that the game will go to shit if you go through with this. Ill quit, like many others, and sell my lions for artwork.

I pray that RL will not be released into explore. You won RL, another person found it and put it up on stud for a couple of GB - that’s it, you will no longer receive any profit or interest, and “your” RL will become one of the most common on the site. This is Special Lioness. It should remain Special.

The RLC market is still in decline, clones do not cover the costs of Crunchy Worms, if there are several RLs, then even G2 will start to cost little, like just pretty lionesses, and not something special.

I am in favor of releasing into explore several copies of RL that ended up on dead pages and were never cloned. But it is not for promoting this system in the future that it will finish off the market. It may appeal to new players, but not to those who have been playing for a long time and have achieved their place and lionesses by spending thousands of GB and many hours spent in Lioden.

I super hope option 4 isn't implemented. I don't know how the poll looks like that when so many people disliked it and there were so many good concerning arguments about it
Also still don't understand why people are opposed to #7. The whole point of this discussion is the difficulty of spreading RL markings because of inactive players, private lines, etc. having an extra RL for veteran and active players means there's such a drastically higher chance that the RL WILL be spread because we actually know how to play the game, are active, and dedicated players.
