( No this won't translate to sales for others later in the year as we can't reliably make enough for out of season purchase let alone make it back. It means hiatus, cutting back, semi-frozen to fully freeze, at least for me, not alternate as i've already tried a few alternates to my preferred gameplay years back andi'm already keeping myself entertained with loosing odds.
Alternates like going on a rma splurge when discouraged about breeding or doing a complete side project last-hurrah game earned funds earned in game spending whiiich is why I wasn't planning to buy from others (did that at out of season rates in July!) except now i'd cut back to 1-2 gnaw-ers & just drop the gnaw projects. Yaaaay less server space (which I pay GB for, hello Pride Dynasty? Hello Territory slots costing 10 GB)- if that's what they want i'd grudgingly keep 'em all (not half joking but playful).
At minimum even when partially frozen I have to leave myself at least 1-2 expensive gals and a breeding goal for most of the year or I end up spending saved funds that are supposed to be compiling for something to look forward to game wise just to keep rolling over.
Tried making heir/helping others LF when my odds were good but that faded too (still so happy I managed to help a user who was giving up with a lucky one-cub first-(my)-try Orchid Tsavo Orchid with BO eyes-skin and pre-powder 6 BO markings :D <3 )
I'm still here/typing, I don't want to be done but this is a different version of "yeah nope done for now" freeze to return later, this is a ... if I lose the whimsy if I go again i'm not coming back.

The plan was to reach my goal & then keep going to make variants of looks for gorgeous new designs and spread the love - not be at another game crossroads before even making one more step.
I've tried 'outsourcing' game joy as well as i'm super happy when others' projects go well but with no funds there go the actual projects

If I liked straight Numbers that much I personally wouldn't be on a site with soothing color combinations in its charming art. If I was just here for art i'd be satisfied with a Wardrobe design or unofficial art forums & not bothering to create it in-game to actually game-interact with.

This is not a waah can't make my numbers this is a strained out long time coming graaaaaah hidden in a spoiler for a neat n tidier post.
I've avoided clearing my long term prides & just coasting to earn/save or crb for a while because nostalgia keeps me playing. If I clear my long-term multi-year generation lionesses who are still being curated every time mass-breeding means more are aging up I would lose site ( <~ Hah! Freudian slip - typo, i'd lose sight of the site indeed) of the positives of this gamble breeding and not be motivated to grind let alone be a daily roller or support the game. Random whims don't keep me attached long term and casual play means i'm spending in pride as a gb sink or at lower cost not grinding and saving (to spend! I love helping players achieve their goals while getting something I feel like I 'need' for my gals in return) to help the economy. I wasn't sure i'd still be playing later.)
Maybe the instant gratification and fear of loosing out is what inspire irresponsible spending from newer players or others and keeping a constant turnover was gauged more important than keeping single players engaged (and spending- I honestly wish I was inspired to but am not ) but what about maintaining a steady bottom line or helping long-term players not regret purchases (f2p is vital to community engagement but if the site is to stay active.. bleh preaching to the choir here).
