I'm finding it really, really hard to enjoy this event because its just so... dry and boring, its so hard to grind anything and IMO no longer makes sense like it used to. (I joined back in 2015, and there were no horses??? I still don't know why these were added except to appease one mod that wanted "horseden" at the time???) I understand that admins don't want us getting the bars open too early, but that's no reason to penalise Jewel Beetle encounters, most of us are only getting 5-6 encounters per energy bar if we're lucky. I know its Gnaw/GMO month, and people go crazy for them because "expensive!" - but look how easy February is in comparison and STILL how profitable February's items are. I personally am really struggling, I've been awake since the event dropped 12 hours ago, using all of my energy constantly as it regenerates (a full bar every 2.5 hours, for a total of 4.8 energy bars + my free energy boost), and so far I have 92 Jewel Beetles (though I am pretty sure I started with 60ish from last year). This is with me using the wiki to always choose the high JB option. I feel the horse encounters outnumber the JB ones now, making it much less likely for you to actually roll for a JB encounter, which nerfs enjoyment and penalises "casual" players, and I'm beginning to remember why I usually skip September (and therefore don't buy my few hundred GB for the month, because admins only listen to their bottom line). I know this is kind of ranty/childish, but I'm so over this event. ![]() Edited on 01/09/24 @ 12:59:19 by Fraekinn [Semi Hiatus] (#57572) |

I wish they did more with the horses, more encounters with them would be great and such a missed opportunity since they're such a theme w the decor, I feel like there should be more to tie the themes together, like the horses interacting with the four horsemen/trampling locusts so you can get wings or rustling up the beetles so you can get JB. It kind of hypes me up for October though which I like ![]() Edited on 07/09/24 @ 12:22:42 by second coming of Nasalstrip! (#235705) |

I just wish they made Underbrush easier to find during September so I can actually open the next part of the story without having to buy them. I always run out of money. ![]() |

Also what happened to the new NCL marking, Balbok? Is it not going to be released until the end of the month or something? I used the search tool and apparently there’s not a single lion in the game with that marking. There’s nothing in the news post that says it needs to be unlocked ![]() |

It'll likely need to be unlocked since it's a new NCL marking(?) and event ncl traits aren't released until T4. ![]() |

Link to the wiki page mentioning they unlock with tier 4 this month. I think they forgot to put it on the news :( ![]() |

Honestly, I've always thought that the original October event was supposed to be a "Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse" kind of thing that got changed last-minute. Because think about it*: January could be famine, May could be conquest, March/June/July could be war, August could be death, and September could be pestilence. The Harbringer could be foreshadowing (hence the sudden uptick in random horses and why the Harbringer itself looks like a horse), or, if we're going with the traditional biblical interpretation of the Four Horsemen (see below), Death himself, who wanted to give us a fighting chance. Things would then come to a head in October, where literally everything goes to crap all at once and we have an epic Halloween showdown that features the players of Lioden vs. the four horsemen of the Apocalypse. *I'm listing five horsemen instead of four because they're actually kind of inconsistent: some sources say that the four horsemen are "war, famine, pestilence, and death", a few say that the horsemen are "war, famine, disease, and death", and a whole other group says that it's "war, famine, conquest, and death", with death being strongly implied to include the pestilence and plague bits. ![]() |

I find this event to be a prequel to the October event. The four horses- or horsemen, in the book of Revelation in the Bible- signal the first phases of God's judgement, and of endtimes. The names of these horses are identical to the horsemen in the Bible. The harbinger serves as some sort of prophet in LD. He signals that end times are near. Given that the October event is about Heaven or Hell - and Rabies, which could be the pestilence that wipes out those that did not turn to Jesus (not to mention the locusts and famine- it is when judgement day has arrived. In the last novel of the September event, the Harbinger says you have to choose between good and evil. The prophet lion as well. https://www.britannica.com/topic/four-horsemen-of-the-Apocalypse https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Revelation%206&version=TLV Apologies if this sounds too preachy or condescending. ![]() Edited on 13/09/24 @ 09:08:34 by FlameHeart (#233839) |

I've only gotten 100 JB or so this year. I had some saved up from last year and bought a Ochre Gnowrock. ![]() |

i'm glad others feel this way about this event. i don't remember it being like this a couple years back. now i rarely get a event encounters/omen encounters if any from a full energy bar, there's some times where i can go two full energy bars and still get no event/omen encounter. and it makes the harbingers quests so hard to do when none of event encounters pop up in explore. has anyone else had that problem? ![]() |

Looks like the devs are releasing a Band Aid Item. Sirens Call. If you blow into the horn, it will sightly increase chance of getting current monthly event encounter and battle in explore for 15 minutes! https://www.lioden.com/topic.php?id=304429555034 Just fix the damn encounter rates devs... ![]() Edited on 13/09/24 @ 17:53:43 by Fraekinn [Semi Hiatus] (#57572) |

My omen encounters have been so dry :') still haven't made it to 10 omens and I took on the daily harbinger quest yesterday morning! Which means about 6 full energy bars (possibly more), plus various partially-full bars... All that over the course of 30-ish hours and I'm still sitting at 8/10. ![]() ![]() |

Ngl I’ve given up on this event. I’m just going to focus on ochre powder instead. 15 days and I’m at 350jb. Taking the piss ![]() |
