Velvet’s appearance

Velvet frowned and tilted her head, ”Either way I’m sorry; I should have been more aware of my surroundings.” Her tail wagged, trying to reassure Twist that it was okay. The omega seemed distressed about something, but try as she might Velvet couldn’t figure it out. ”Take care you don’t reopen the wound and let us know if you need to rest while we’re travelling, yeah?” She didn’t want to risk her wound reopening just in an attempt to find a valley none of them had seen before. The life of a single pack member was more important than chasing a dream. ”Remember if there’s ever something bothering you, I’m here talk to,” she told her kindly, smiling. She could sense an unresolved issue in the air, but still couldn’t understand what is was about.

She headed back to Remington, hoping that Twist would come to her at some point about whatever was bothering her. She hated to see pack mates upset with something, but decided to put it out of her mind for now, as Remington was answering her question. ”I’m glad you agree. As nice as this place is, it’s getting a little crowded with the amount of wolves here,” she nodded, ”If we stay too long we risk never getting there, or getting too comfortable here to decide to make the journey.”

She listened to what he was saying but it didn’t worry her too much. ”Whether the Valley of Hope is real or not, I believe there must be some place out there suitable for a pack this size. We’ll just have to keep going until we find it. It might be that the place your dad found becomes our home, or we may have to keep going, but one day we’ll find it.” Her old home was gone, destroyed by the forces that helped create it. The place as well as the pack had made it home for her. No longer having a territory to tie her down, she knew that if she was ever to find a home again it wouldn’t be the place, but the wolves she was with, that would make her at home.

Velvet was pleasantly surprised when Remington’s next words were to bring up the issue of pups. She ducked her head, smiling, as she listened to what he had to say. As he finished, nudging his head into her chest, she lay her head over his and replied. ”Lots of the females have been asking me the same thing,” she laughed, ”I love pups so much, and have always wanted my own. I’ve never taken a mate because I couldn’t find anyone I thought suitable to raise pups with.” She paused to lick the top of his head a couple of times. ”Then I met you. Remington, I wouldn’t have chosen you if I didn’t think you were the right male to stand beside, and to one day raise pups with. I’m not sure how sensible having pups while on a journey is, but there are enough wolves who want there to be pups in the pack here that I think we could work it out. Raising pups with you would be wonderful, and I’m so glad you’re on board with it.”

Had Remington told her that he didn’t want pups she’d have been upset, but she’d still stay with him. She chose to be with the male primarily for him, to stand by his side through life. Whatever bonuses there were, including pups, would make her all the happier, but she wouldn’t have stopped wanting to be his mate had he not wanted them. She was ecstatic that he did though, tail wagging and heart beating in excitement. She started to picture little pups that looked and acted like Remington, but stared up at her with her own eyes, and grinned. Whatever they were like, she’d love them completely.

She looked up, noticing that during their conversation another wolf had joined. He seemed young, barely even grown into an adult, and had wounds on his muzzle. She wondered what had happened to him but it seemed like the rest of the pack were taking care of it. She chose instead to sit a bit longer with Remington, taking pleasure in the moment of closeness with her mate and thinking of their future, of having a blood related family once more. She knew Remington would soon call everyone together to leave, but until then she was content to sit with him.

Rivers || Female || 3 years || Scout

Rivers accepted the complement by gently bumping her head against his neck. She liked how close they were and that he trusted her enough to be open with her. "Your father had the right idea," she murmured. "Do you think we should be heading back soon? I'm sure the alphas will want to be going soon. We've really been here for a few days, and we have better places to be."


Kade || Female || 5 years || Beta female

Kade nodded to the wolf before glancing over at the alpha pair. They seemed to be having a rather intimate moment and she did not want to interrupt that, so she looked around again. Rivers and Dakota were no longer near Sollux, so she walked over to him. "Hello, Sollux," she said, sitting near him. "Are you satisfied with your new rank?" She grinned slightly, her tail thumping against the ground in happiness. Kade wanted to get to know all of the members of the pack, because they would have to trust her and know her. And, it would make picking a mate easier, if she had to take a mate regardless of whether or not she actually loved them.

Sollux || Male || 4 years, 2 Months || Hunter

Sollux listened to them converse, and then sighed as they left. I dont think I came off nice enough... or was a too nice? He thought, and glared at the ground. He swished his tail in brief anger, and then stood. His eyes flickered about, momentarily examining each wolf.

Then, he decided he had done more conversing then nessacary today. Padding over to lie under a tree, he curled up, back to the others, and closed his eyes. Hopefully he could catch a bit of sleep. Soon, darkness slipped over him, and he was asleep.

Marcel | Male | 4 | Unranked

Marcel practically dragged his paws across the ground as he walked, feeling as if they had been on their feet for hours. His head hung low and he positively glared at the dark furred wolf moving just ahead of him. Was Raven planning on making him walk until he was dead? "Can we stop yet? I'm tired," he complained, already flopping down onto the ground dramatically without waiting for an answer. He heard an aggravated sigh escape the younger male's maw and couldn't help but feel a bit smug. 'Serves you right for working me so hard you rotten pup.'

By the time the black and white wolf had retraced his steps back to Marcel he'd managed to push his annoyance aside. Raven gazed down at the older brute for a moment before sitting back on his haunches. "Fine, but only five minutes. We need to keep moving. We'll never find the Valley of Hope at this rate. You take far too many breaks," he replied teasingly, tail giving a quick wag at the prickly look crossing Marcel's features. "Yes, well my paws need more rest than yours do. They are delicate remember," the blue-gray male replied with a soft growl and Raven laughed. Getting back to his paws, he trotted ahead a bit to try and get a feel for where they were going. He had to admit they had been traveling a bit aimlessly thus far.

Kade || Female || 5 years || Beta female

Kade suddenly heard something. She glanced around, but she didn't know if anyone else had heard. So she trotted into the forest, looking for the source of the sound. It had seemed a lot like other wolves, and as she got closer, she could smell them on the breeze. A pair of males . . . one smelled very strange.

Then she saw them, through the undergrowth. For a moment, she froze, then realized that she could take either of them, or both, easily. Kade stood at her full height and walked forward to where the pair lay on the ground. They looked incredibly tired, which confused her a little. "I am Kade," she said, glancing at both of them. "I am the beta of the pack that has recently formed here. We are taking in survivors of the earthquake to travel as a group to the Valley of Hope." Her voice was authoritative and her stance dominant, as an extra measure to ensure she would not be attacked.

"Alright," he said, turning around and heading back towards the group. As they walked he gently swayed his tail, and let it tap her every once in a while. He smiled at her and brushed against her slightly as they walked. Once they arrived at the clearing, he looked at Remington. "I wonder when we're leaving, are you excited?" He asked her, smiling.

Raven & Marcel | Males | 2 & 4 | Unranked | Mentions: Kade

Raven had scented the female even before she made an appearance. Marcel was less prepared and literally leaped back up to his paws into an odd half crouch stance when Kade addressed them. It might have been an amusing sight for Raven under different circumstances. "Greetings Kade. I am Raven and this is Marcel," he replied politely, motioning with his long tail towards his companion. He tried to think his words through carefully before speaking again, not sure how he should behave around a Beta wolf. Was he being respectful enough? He knew Marcel would be no better. Neither had ever lived with a pack, but at least Raven was actually wild.

"I can introduce myself thank you." Raven nearly jumped as Marcel moved past him, having apparently recovered from his surprise, tail and head held high in confidence. Raven winced. 'Marcel, you idiot! How many times have I told you!? You can't walk around like that unless you are a wolf of high position!' He thought to himself. Honestly, did the blue-gray brute remember nothing? Raven was almost waiting for Kade to bite his face off for his arrogance at this point.

"As my friend here said, I'm called Marcel. It's a pleasure to meet you Kade," he started smoothly with a polite dip of his head. "We apologize for trespassing. Neither of us were aware of your presence until now." She had mentioned the Valley of Hope a moment before, and that she was part of a pack. Now that...that could be interesting. "Are you now? What a coincidence. We were heading that way too, and also happen to be survivors of the earthquake. Perhaps it was fate that led us to you then."

Kade || Female || 5 years || Beta female

Kade got a look on her face that warned this male to stand down because he was showing a little too much dominance for her liking. Remington was the only male allowed to show more dominance than her. Her tail went up a little higher and her fur began to bristle with slight aggression. This male gave her a similar feeling to the one Azazel gave her, no matter how smoothly he was talking now.

Then she turned her attention to Raven. "You haven't taught your friend when to not be so cocky, I see," she pointed out. "Remington will want to meet you and you'd better be properly in your place when you speak to him. And your place is quite a bit lower than you're acting." Her voice was harsh, because honestly she was getting really tired of males who thought they were all that.

Rivers smiled at Dakota. "Yeah, I'm really excited," she answered. "I doubt it will be easy, though. From what I've heard, there's all sorts of crazy things the way that is supposed to be going towards it, but I've never met anyone who lived through the journey. They were mostly loners, though; a think a pack will be able to make it." She was confident in her new pack and their ability to surpass any difficulty.

Nova’s ears perked up when Lyall replied to her teasing with good humor, she hadn’t known what to expect from the handsome red wolf and his reply, as surprising as it was, made her laugh out loud. “Now I have the image of us all bald.” Nova said, laughter still hidden in her voice. “I’m very glad you tipped over ,Splat, you have my everlasting gratitude.” Nova said with a teasing wink. Nova stopped surprised,Did I just flirt? Before she could look at her actions more closely Ro landed on the ground beside her, his head lowered with sadness. Oh, Ro did Luna reject you for the new young male wolf? Nova asked, nudging the magpie gently. “Cheer up my friend, by the looks of things there will be pups for you to play with very soon.” Nova said with a smile, glancing at the two alphas who seemed to be focused completely on each other.

Looking up, Nova listened to Cybers question, a touch of sadness mixed with happiness touched her features. "After my mentor’s death during the earthquake, I was full of sadness and anger, he was the only parent I ever knew...my only family. I didn’t know where to go, only that I had to leave the cave that held so many of my memories, I thought there was nothing left for me in the clearing where I had grown up. I was wrong, below the tree that had killed my mentor while he was saving my life was a small baby bird, he couldn’t fly and his parents and siblings had been crushed by the tree. My mentor had many odd friends some of which were the ravens and magpies that also called our clearing home, they would lead us to prey we could not have found without them and after we had taken it down we would share our bounty. My mentor told me to value the lives of all creatures and in his memory I saved the little bird, expecting it to fly away as soon as it could. But, to my surprise, the magpie did not fly away when he grew up, instead he stuck by my side showing the loyalty my mentor had told me any creature would,given the chance. So I named the magpie Ro, after my mentor, Romak, this bird was probably the only thing that got me through my next month as a loner." Nova finished, nudging the magpie playfully with her paw. Nova looked at Cyber seeing that her own memories had triggered the other she-wolfs. Before Nova could ask and comfort the other female, Cyber walked away obviously needing time alone. Respecting the other wolf’s wishes Nova turned to Lyall, "What about you, Lyall? Where did you come from? Though I understand if you don’t want to talk about it right now." Nova said, her own memories hovering darkly in her blue eyes.



Please tell me if I need to edit something I was kinda rushed on this and didn't check it over. So tell me if something doesn't make sense.

Lyall || Male || 3 Years || Fighter

Lyall chuckles, shaking his head. "I think you'd all look rather silly, and freeze your asses off during winter. I mean, have you ever seen a hairless wolf? They're all wrinkly and pink. Okay, even I don't know what we'd look like. But I know what those hairless felines that the humans sometimes keep look like, and that image is burned in my brain forever! They're terrifying. It's like looking at a demon strait from the depths of Hell." He exclaims, pretending to be petrified for a moment before spotting the wink Nova had given him. Had she just flirted with him? In all honesty, Lyall had never been very exposed to romance. Yes, he'd had many suitors, but there had been no time for a mate until he was to take an Alpha female. He gives her a smile, walking a circle closely around her so that his fur lightly brushed hers.

He flinches had her unexpected question, looking away and then at his paws. "Well, it's actually kind of a long story. My mother, you see, was a loner. My father was the beta of my pack, and one day while out patrolling the borders he met with her. They met everyday after, and eventually she gave birth to my sisters and me. She begged him to take us, as she knew we couldn't possibly survive with her. My father agreed, but the bastard had never really loved her. He beat her bloody and left her to die, taking us back to the pack and telling the alpha he had found us next to our mother's cold, dead body. My sisters were made omegas because of our loner blood, but the alpha saw potential in me. He began teaching me to succeed him, which angered my father greatly as he was meant to become alpha. The truth's always got to come out though, doesn't it? My mother had survived, somehow. I never knew how. She tracked down my father, walking into camp. She looked almost exactly like me, besides for the build of which I had inherited from my father, so the alpha believed her story. He made my father an omega, and I was put into the beta position. The day I was meant to become alpha was the day the earthquake happened. I, erm, I dug my sisters from the cave after it caved. I should have been there with them, but I just couldn't sleep that night. I went out to hunt about an hour before it happened, just to get my jitters out. When I finally pulled them from the ground, all three of them were dead. I don't think anyone else survived, though knowing my father, he probably did. I wouldn't be surprised if he walked in one day just to kill me." Lyall lets out a cold laugh, eyes distant.

"I'm sorry about your mentor. It's hard to lose someone you love. I was always so close to my sisters, we were all we had in means of family growing up. It's not easy. But at least you have Ro. He's a beautiful bird, by the way. I have to admit, I'm sort of jelous." He gives another small smile, in a poor attempt to lighten the dark mood he'd just made. He was so stupid! He'd probably just managed to make her pity him, and that wasn't what he wanted at all. She had asked his backstory, and he'd just given it without a second thought. Or, maybe he'd just scared her off. Wouldn't that be great? Yep. Good job Lyall, you managed to frighten away a pretty femme who had flirted with you and didn't seem to be a complete nutjob. He silently curses himself, though keeps his semi-goofy exterior.

Raven & Marcel | Males | 2 & 4 | Unranked | Mentions: Kade

Part of Marcel was slightly disappointed by Kade's obvious lack of an impression with him. Whenever he had talked to dogs like this they had seemed awed by him, or at times frightened. That was how he'd found out he actually wasn't a dog himself. What a delightful discovery that had been. Despite his feelings of dismay, it never showed in his body language, his face still wearing an arrogant expression. "My my, someone woke up with burrs in her nest this morning," he replied, his tone dripping with sarcasm.

Raven hastily stepped forward, nudging Marcel away from the dominant female with his shoulder. "Please excuse us for a moment," he said softly. Once they were far enough away from the brown female to not be overheard he whirled around on Marcel. "Are you crazy!? What did you think you were doing!?" Marcel snorted, not seeming too terribly moved by Raven's anxiety. "What? I was just being myself."

"I've already told you that you can't act like that! Not around pack wolves. They'll chew you up and spit you out," he groaned. Why did Marcel always have to be so difficult? "Ugh, fine. How am I supposed to act then?" Marcel asked dryly, black tail-tip twitching in annoyance.

"Here, I'll show you," Raven said more gently. He padded back towards Kade, tail down and head hanging below hers despite being a bit taller. "My apologies for my friend. He...we aren't used to being around other wolves. We would appreciate meeting your Alpha if you will still have us. We'll be on our best behavior," he promised, hoping Kade hadn't changed her mind.

Dakota | Male | 2 years old | Lead Hunter

Dakota heard Kade speaking to someone and smelled stranger wolves. He growled to himself, then turned to Rivers. "I'm going to see what's going on," he told her. He stood up, brushed against her then walked towards the beta female. He stood beside her, watching the males, but didn't say a word. Kade was beta, and this was her call. He knew she could handle it by herself, but he stood beside her anyway. He stood tall enough to seem intimidating to the males, but respected Kades dominence.

Cyber | Female | 3 years old | Pup Sitter

Cyber looked at the group and couldn't help but think of Flora. She deeply hoped her sister would be at the Valley of Hope. Cyber began whimpering, but stopped herself. She didn't want to seem childish, she needed to be brave. She tried to think about her sister, but caught herself whining and whimpering every once in a while. Cyber took a deep breath, and decided she needed to distract herself. She lay along the bushes and watched the birds sing cheerfully and fly among the treetops. How she wished she could fly, she would fly straight to the Valley in search of Flora. It would be much faster to go alone... Cyber shook her head. She wouldn't survive on her own. She needed the others.

Luna | Female | 1 yr, 1 month | Pup

Luna did not care about all the other wolves arriving which seemed to be all males. All she cared about was the one that just arrived in front of her. As she notice him look her way she got a bit nervous thinking that he wouldn't even look at her. As it seemed he was coming over her tail wagged faster along the ground, excited, yet nervous as could be.

As it seemed he was close enough she got up the nerve and spoke out, "Hello! I am Luna, are you alright? Quills in the face hurt every time no matter how many times it happens to someone." Luna laughed trying to not only make herself feel comfortable, but Toki. She could tell he was a bit embarrassed by the situation, but she just wanted to joke about it. "It has happened to me many times." Her confidence showing through her conversation. She couldn't help but look him over a million times. He was definitely no Remington, but his color was still very attractive, and she could see his eyes were a bit foggy wondering if anyone else had noticed that. Luna giggled to herself at his ear, she wasn't giggling because it was funny, she giggled because she thought it was a unique characteristic and very cute.If he was blind could he actually see her or was he just going blind? He would have to get closer for her to be sure, but she did not care. She started to think about how to act and decided to be flirtatious if she could, to show him he was interested. What if he wasn't the flirting type though and didn't flirt back? Or didn't even like me! Luna struggled with herself and then waited for him to actually come closer and speak to her.
