Only accepted characters may post here Sign up here! Hunting Thread You have left your forest home, left without your pack. The earthquake shook a massive hole in your life. Now, you search for the Valley of Hope and for a new pack to share your life with. Before each post you must put this: With Alpha's name's Pack Character name || Sex || Age || Rank This is to make sure there is no confusion. Occasionally I will post plot updates, with weather/prey/landscapes coming into play. You’ll see what I mean after I’ve done this a few times. Every update will have ‘Plot Update’ written before it. Please take your time with your responses, and allow at least couple of people to post their own replies before you post again, even if you’re only interacting with one person at the time. This makes sure replies are well thought out, nobody is controlling someone else’s character, and everyone has the chance to get involved in whatever happens before the RP moves on from that. Pack hunts will be arranged every so often by the alpha. I will set up a hunting thread that I will link here. Once the alpha has chosen the hunters you will RP that your character has left with the hunting party, and then switch to the hunting thread to RP the hunt. This is so that characters in the hunt and in the rest of the pack don’t get confused about who is where. I find it makes things much easier to follow this way. You may hunt small prey alone here, but group hunting must be done away from the pack, in the hunting thread. You will then RP your return here, and either bring the prey or lead the pack to the prey, all in this thread. Only hunting will take place in the hunting thread. My rule of at least four sentences per post is absolute. If you don’t follow this you will get a strike by your name. Three strikes and you will no longer be allowed to rp here. I may remove a strike if you post a lot of detail in your next few posts. Strikes Nobody :3 let’s keep it that way, yeah? The last thing to say is have fun everyone! Current Plot Update The wolf pack travelled across the soaked plains and have come to the base of the mountain. The rains have passed for now and the sun shines down. However, they must make the decision to either go around or over the mountains. They will soon encounter new wolves, but whether this be a good or bad encounter is up to their choice! Spring is still here and flowers will soon bloom. Character SheetsNo thread generated. The original poster of this RP thread will be able to generate one for this feature.0 players like this post! Marcel | Male | 4 | Unranked | Mentions: Kade, Remington, Velvet Marcel's light green gaze fell coldly on Kade for a moment before he turned his head away from her dismissively. How the heck was he supposed to know!? His pelt crawled with embarrassment that he had made such an obvious mistake. He hid it well enough. Keeping up a facade of confidence even though he'd really like to go crawl under a rock right now. "My humblest pardons madame, I wasn't aware-" he'd started to address Velvet again when the Alpha male came barging between them. Marcel frowned in dismay at Remington's aggressive display. "She sniffed me first," he growled back, letting his own lip curl over a single tooth, but taking a few steps away from him anyway. He slouched among the crowd as Remington continued his speech, trying to ignore the hostile glares and growls of the other wolves. He looked over his shoulder back towards the woods. Considering just leaving. They didn't want him here and he wasn't fond of them either. Why should he even bother staying? Just as he was about to make a run for it the Alpha was back in front of him, wanting to speak with him privately. Marcel followed after the larger male reluctantly. He had lost some of his more cocky attitude it seemed. Ears flattened and tail flicking lowly. 'Hell if I know,' he thought to himself, but figured that probably wasn't the answer Remington was looking for. "I was a captive wolf for a long time. That is why I smell so strongly of man. I only managed to escape my prison when the earthquake shattered my cage." He decided to leave out the part where he'd been a pet. Somehow he imagined that wouldn't go over well. "Raven has tried to teach me how to be wild, but he knows very little about it himself. I want to be around real wolves." 0 players like this post! Like? |

Velvet || Female || 4 years || Remington’s Mate || Alpha Female Velvet’s appearance Velvet’s head drew back in surprise as Marcel leant forward to sniff her. She wasn’t a violent wolf, nor was she used to her rank, but to have a stranger act so boldly was an insult. It reminded her of the lone brutes who often tried to court her, drawn in by her scent and beautiful fur. They had been after one thing only, and she had found none of them worthy enough for her. Now, within the midst of her pack and so clearly scent marked as Remington’s, to have this male act in such a way shocked her speechless. There was something very off about him, from his scent to his actions, and she was very suspicious about it. She didn’t do as some might and attack, far too placid a temperament for that, but her fur bristled and her eyes narrowed slightly. To anyone who knew her, they would know it was hard to cause this reaction, and that she was not happy. Thankfully Remington returned to her side, positioning himself between them. She couldn’t help the small smile that danced across her face. She’d clearly chosen well, with a mate not willing to budge even an inch from protecting her dignity. Having taken a mate, Velvet’s flirting ways would be restrained from anyone but Remington, and she was pleased to see that he wasn’t happy about such an action occurring either. As Kade confronted Marcel, Velvet nudged her head against her mate’s rump lightly, just to silently let him know that she appreciated what he’d just done. ”Humans?” Kade’s comment had caught her attention and she looked to the new beta from behind Remington with eyes filled with fear. ”I’m not one to deny a wolf a pack, Raven,” she said, ”but you and your friend should speak with my mate. I’d rather turn you away than risk humans finding any of my pack mates. They come before anything.” As Remington moved to the side to speak with the newcomers, Velvet walked over to the rest of the pack, giving Marcel a wide berth. She rarely meet a wolf she didn’t want to get to know and be friends with, but she couldn’t shake the wrongness that he gave off. She was happy to converse with Nova, and any of the rest of the pack who wanted to join them. (refer to above post of mine for what Velvet says to Nova) 0 players like this post! Like? |

((Since I didn't reply with him yet I hope it's ok I toss Raven in here real quick.)) Raven | 2 | Male | Unranked | Mentions: Velvet Velvet's words had Raven sending the she-wolf a devastated look before bowing his head in acceptance, ears flattening against his skull. He watched Remington lead Marcel away and tried not to whimper before lowering his gaze to the dirt below his paws. They had been alone for so long. Now they finally had a chance to join a pack and they would be turned away because of where Marcel had come from. Wasn't that just his luck? He finally forced himself to lift his head and look less pathetic. "I understand," he replied softly. Patiently waiting his turn to speak with Remington. Though he wasn't sure it would do them any good at this point. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Cyber | Female | 3 years | Pup Sitter "That's not right," Cyber said to Velvet. "What if humans are after him? Will you really turn him away to face them himself? I understand that he acts strange, but they deserve a chance." Cyber stood to her feet and walked towards Raven. She stood beside him, head held high. "I understand that I am simply a pup sitter and that you make the final decision, but if you turn them down and force them to be on their own, I will go too. I've been alone for a long time before and it can be very difficult, especially since the earthquake. I respect you, but I would disagree with your decision if you force them away." Cyber stood with confidence. She couldn't bear the thought of going without a pack once again, but she will fight for what she believes in no matter what the situation. She thinks about Flora and how difficult it will be to find her if she ends up alone, but she will not abandon those in need. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Scribers thoughts get interrupted by Kade, she appears to be saying something. Kade is telling everybody that Marcel smells like humans, Scriber is stunned. Scriber see's Velvet smelling Marcel and all of a sudden Marcel starts smelling Velvet. Remington sees them and growls, Scriber finds it hilarious that Marcel sniffed Velvet. Did he seriously just smell the Alpha female? Scriber thinks to herself. Scriber wants to get to know her pack better so she decides to talk to someone. She approaches Kade. "How do you know the sent of humans?" Scriber asks. She wonders what her response will be. What if she was raised by them? Sciber thinks. Kade || Female || 5 years || Beta female Kade snarled at Scriber before realizing who it was. She had been a little lost in memories. "I'm sorry," she apologized quickly. "I'm just a little distracted." When the other female asked her a question about humans, she shrugged a little. "I was captured by humans as a pup. I escaped but I remember a lot from that time." ((In class, so sorry. I know it's terrible and short.)) 0 players like this post! Like? |

Nova | | Female | | 3 years | | Fighter Nova's tufted ears perked as Velvet walked up to where she, Lyall and a few other pack mates had sat to listen to what Remington had to say. As Velvet walked up and introduced herself, Nova nodded her head, an acknowledgement of the beautiful female's high ranking in the pack. Then raised her head tilting it slightly while listening to Velvet's question. "It is nice to finally meet you Velvet, my name is Nova and I can assure you that you're not bothering me. Cyber asked me the same question which surprises me a little because where I came from wolves, ravens and more recently, magpies had a symbiotic relationship. The birds would find prey and circle above it which made hunts quicker and easier,in return the wolves would share the meal they had chased down... though I admit the relationships between those wolves and birds were no where near as close as my friendship with Ro." "I found him under the ancient tree that had fallen and killed my mentor, Romak, when he pushed me to safety and saved my life the day before, during the earthquake. Though Romak didn't die immediately I think that one of the branches caused internal injuries in the fall. Romak knew this ,of course, and that night when he walked into our den he told me that he would die before morning as if he was only discussing the weather. I didn't really believe him... you would understand if you had met the old wolf, he was huge even in his old age, bigger even than your mate,Velvet. Despite his size he was incredibly graceful, probably because he was raised with a lion pride for the beginning of his life in an enclosure guarded by humans, for whatever reason. During his life he traveled many places and learned about many things, too a pup like I was, he was invincible. So that night when I fell asleep next to his side listening to one of his many stories I did not expect to wake up alone." "To me, lost would have been a severe understatement, though he had taught me almost everything he could and I was very prepared to live the life of a loner or a pack member the very fact that I would never see the grumpy old wolf again scared me to my core....so I ran...across the clearing, planning to leave the place I had lived almost all my life, thinking that the clearing had no more to offer. As I neared the end of the ancient tree that spanned the clearing I heard a non stop chirping noise. Slowing down I found a small baby magpie, his parents and siblings had been crushed by the tree and he was stumbling over to me..perfectly fine, but too young to feed himself. I needed something to do and the little bird didn't have a fearful bone in his body. So I stayed and raised him expecting him to never come back after his first flight, but he did and he kept coming back. I guess he decided to stick with me and I am very thankful he did, he was one of the only things that brightened my life the following month." Nova turned her head to look at her magpie friend as he hopped around near Velvet's feet seemingly very curious about the female wolf, stopping to tilt his head to look up at her, then hopping closer, looking up, then hopping closer as if he was testing to see how close he could get. When Velvet shifted her weight Ro gave a startled crow and hopped behind Nova's leg eyeing Velvet suspiciously before he slowly moved in again. Nova laughed her blue eyes reflecting humor along with sadness. "I apologize for the long story, I usually do not talk often but it seems to ease the pain in my heart when I do." Nova did not say what pain it eased, for the pain in her heart was not only for her lost mentor but also for the things that had happened during the long month after. Nova looked over at the two male wolves that had entered the clearing, with a nod indicating them, Nova turned to Velvet. "I think you and Remington should allow them to stay, Velvet. It is hard for most wolves to live alone, if the humans wanted those two, they would have already been caught. Though the two leggers are strange and often contradictory creatures they are very cunning and very resourceful ...I would know." Nova flicked her ears and changed the subject accepting that Velvet and Remington would decide whatever they chose and that she had showed where she stood on the matter. Nova looked at Velvet and perked her tufted ears. "What was your life like before the earthquake, Velvet. If you don't mind my asking." The star speckled onyx female seemed to have closed the subject of her history for the time being and though she had spoken a long time about her past, those that had listened to her story had the odd feeling of things left out...as if this wolf still had many more stories to tell despite her younger age and the feeling that Nova would always seem slightly mysterious, perhaps because of her hide or her sometimes odd behavior or... maybe... because of the haunted and knowing look in her deep blue eyes. 0 players like this post! Remington || Male || 4 years || Alpha Remington's Face Remington's Body(more muscle though) As Remington listened to Marcel speak respectively he listed his higher in surprise. He then lowered his head a bit and sat down in front of the male. " I know the smell of human so I had figured you had been around them for some sort. I didn't care I am not the type to judge someone by there past, I care about the present and the future. Seeing as you were locked away from actual wolf kind I can have a better understanding now of why you sniffed my mate. When there is an alpha, they choose a mate. The two alphas then our of highest rank, a male alphas female usually means a lot to him, she can smell you because your a stranger in her pack, but you don't. Just like being to bold, no tail should be held higher than the alphas unless you are challenging them." Remington did feel a bit bad about the way he snapped, but it was his male instinct and dominance that kicked in. Remington then saw two other male wolves sort of on the edge of the clearing. He turned to Kade and barked, his way of asking her to go bring them and and catch them up on things. He would talk to them to. Remington then looked back to Marcel, " I a not sure what Velvet feels or thinks about you staying but your welcome to stay in the pack if you wish. The only requirement is that you watch and learn from all of us, and actually try to be like us. I am going to place you under the Pup rank for now, and I know your not a pup but I think there the sitters will show and teach you well about being a real wolf. It's dangerous out here." He then smiled a bit and looked over at Velvet talking to Nova, "I will talk to her no worries, if you please could you tell your friend Raven to come on over now please? Thank you." Remington remained standing as he waited for Marcel to leave and send Raven over. He felt good about the discussion he had with Marcel and hoped it had cleared things up between them. As Remington waited there he couldn't help it his gaze happened upon Velvet again as he started day dreaming about her. He looked over every part of her body from where he stood and licked his muzzle and deeply growled with pleasure. He then decided to tease Velvet and create a low, raspy growl that only she would hear and understand. It was his way of simply saying, your super attractive and I am definitely checking you out right now. He chuckled to himself and waited to see if she heard him, His hope was to maybe put her in a playful, turned on mood. It was strange he was acting as if Velvet or another female was in heat, but Velvet was and was gonna be for a while.. or was she? Remington then plopped his hind end back down in the dirt flicking his tail still watching Velvet with such desire. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Kade || Female || 5 years || Beta female Kade's ears perked up as she heard Remington, and glanced around before pinpointing the two new males that had entered the clearing. Head and tail held high, she trotted over. "Hello!" she said, a little too brightly. "I am Kade, the beta female of this pack. Our alpha, Remington, is currently assigning ranks to new wolves. He would like you to go speak to him, sooner rather than later." Remembering her time among humans had effected her a little more than she was willing to talk about, but it showed in her voice that not all was as it should be. As Kade looked at her new family, and these two new males before her, exactly how much she had lost in just a few days hit her like a bullet to the heart. With a sharp intake of breath, the beta walked back over to Remington. He and Velvet seemed to be . . . flirting? . . . but she positioned herself so that her muzzle was near his ear and whispered, "I need a moment . . . I won't be too far away. If you need me, just howl." Without waiting for an answer, Kade trotted into the forest surrounding them, picking up speed as she went. She went out of earshot of the pack and kept running for at least a mile, when she pulled herself to a sudden halt, the rough pads on her feet skidding on the dead leaves that littered the ground from last fall. And there, the proud, brown and black wolf collapsed. She was so, so sad. Her mate. His brother. Her own siblings. Her mother and the father she'd never even known. Every memory of her blood family flashed through her mind and Kade just sat there, sobbing, on the bed of dried leaves and new grass. ((I'd rather no one approach or follow her! I feel like it is appropriate for her to be hit by feels at some point and I'd like to get it over with.)) Rivers || Female || 3 years || Scout Rivers looked over at Mariposa (i think i spelled that right but let me know) as the other female looked at Dakota, and for a split second, a white-hot flash of anger, possessiveness, and some other strange emotion burned through her. What was this female doing, looking at her friend? Then she realized that it was ridiculous. Dakota was not her mate and she did not have any sort of claim on him other than friendship. She hoped that no one had noticed her momentary air of anger, as she leaned her head to rest it gently on Dakota's shoulder. "I don't know about Marcel," Rivers said. "He's sure to be amusing, but I'm honestly a little worried about what Remington or Kade will do if he gets arrogant." It wasn't that she was concerned for his safety, but if there was a confrontation between the alpha or beta and this new male, it may end up lowering morale for the rest of the wolves. 0 players like this post! Dakota | Male | 2 years old | Lead Hunter Dakota could sense something was wrong with Rivers. He looked around wondering what was making her upset when the moment passed and she seemed alright. He was a little concerned but figured if anything was wrong it wasn't his place to push. If she wanted him to know, she would tell him; at least he hoped she would. He was surprised when he felt her head rest on his shoulder. He gently rubbed her head with his. He felt comfortable around her. "Whatever the alphas decide, I know it'll be for the good of the group," Just then, something caught his eye. Kade had approached more stranger wolves, both male. Dakota watched curiously, then Kade left. He was confused as to why she would leave these strangers without questioning them, but he decided to not ask her about it. Obviously something was bothering her. Dakota stood, then rubbed Rivers' neck with his head. "I'm going to go see what's going on," he told her quietly. He walked over to the strangers, tail and head high. "Hey," he said, trying to not be aggressive. He's noticed that everyone has been very welcoming to newcomers and, though it wasn't normal behaviour to him, he tried his best to do the same. "That's our alpha over there," he told them, guestering to Remington. "If you want to join our pack, you'd have to speak with him," It was very unnatural for him to be so friendly with a stranger, but he figured he'd have to get used to it soon. "I'm not sure what Kade has told you yet, but we're going to start making our way to the Valley of Hope soon," He continued. "Our alpha is assigning ranks to the newcomers, you should probably go see him," Dakota started walking back to Rivers. He sat down beside her once again and softly rubbed his muzzle against her neck. As he sat beside her, he watched the strangers. He then looked at Sollux and Raoula. If he wanting a good hunting group, he needed to have a good relationship with them. The hunting party so far was fairly small and he hoped that one of the strangers would become a hunter. Just then, he became glad that he was friendly towards them. If they end up having to work as a team, a good first impression would help a lot. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Marcel | Male | 4 | Unranked | Mentions: Remington Marcel listened to Remington's words carefully, body a bit hunched as if to finally express how uneasy he felt around the larger male. When he heard things were actually going better than expected he immediately perked up, though his head still remained lower than the great male's. The last thing he needed was the giant brute losing his temper and tearing him to pieces. "I can't tell you how relieved I am to hear you will not judge me for my past here. It has been difficult finding others who would not scorn me for it. Raven and I have had a tough time. My apologies for sniffing at your mate then. I will have to be more mindful in the future." Even though he sounded quite genuine, he didn't mean that apology one bit. He was just saying what he thought Remington would want to hear. Marcel was a bit taken aback when he was told he would be placed under the pup rank. Part of him wanted to protest, but knew a 'good' wolf would be grateful to be accepted at all. He had to play the part. "Thank you," he said with an awkward bow of his head. "We will not let you down." With that said he padded back towards Raven, giving the dark-furred wolf a nudge with his shoulder. "The boss wolf wants to talk to you. Don't look so worried. We're as good as in already," he whispered in his friend's ear. Raven | 2 | Male | Unranked | Mentions: Cyber, Nova, Remington Raven was touched as both Cyber and Nova spoke up on his and Marcel's behalf, though Cyber's speech warmed his heart the most. He moved closer to the she-wolf, hoping he wasn't being too bold, and sent her the most grateful look he could. "Thank you for saying that, but there is no need for you to leave your pack just because of us. If we are turned away Marcel and I will find a way to manage on our own. We always do." A moment later however and Marcel was nudging him off towards the Alpha with encouraging words. "Thank you again," he said to Cyber with a quick wag of his tail before turning to approach Remington. He dipped his head respectfully and sat down in front of the larger male. Ready to hear whatever he had to say. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 24/08/15 by Topaz (#33076) |

Velvet || Female || 4 years || Remington’s Mate || Alpha Female Velvet’s appearance Velvet turned to Cyber with a soft look on her face, trying to explain what she meant. ”If humans are after them then of course we should do anything in our power to help them. That’s not what I was meaning. I’ve never had to deal with humans, and I never want to. They behave strangely, and if that’s because they’re close to humans and deliberately leading them this way then I have to think of the pack’s safety as a whole above all else. Of course they’ll get the chance to explain themselves, but I don’t want to knowingly put anyone here in harm’s way.” She sighed at the latter half of Cyber’s words. ”If you feel that way then no matter how much I don’t want you to leave, I’ll respect your decision,” she told her before nudging her shoulder, ”but let’s not jump to conclusions. I want to see what Remington decides, and get the chance to talk to them myself, before we think about any of this.” The silver femme then padded over to Kade to see if she was alright. She remembered their conversation about her scars, and that the beta had been caught by humans before, that her litter mates went missing there. Kade may have played it off, but that didn’t mean she wasn’t hurt by it. The scent of humans could have brought up some bad memories. She brushed her shoulder against the other’s in a comforting gesture. ”Hey,” she tilted her head, ”Are you okay?” After checking on the beta she made her way over to Nova to introduce herself. She sat in silence as she listened to the femme’s story, not knowing whether or not to believe it. It was quite the tale. ”Wow…” she said, ”It sounds like you’ve been through a fair amount.” She looked down when Ro started jumping closer to her and bent down to give a curious sniff. When the bird got close, instinct overcame curiosity and she snapped her teeth. She didn’t get the bird, not aiming to actually harm it, but she wasn’t sure she’d be able to stop herself trying at some point. She’d not grown up to live in peace with birds. To her pack they had been infrequent pests stealing bits of their kill. She was a gentle soul to others of her kind, but that didn’t mean she was cut out to be friends with all creatures. ”It’s a strange…companionship…that you’ve got, that’s for sure,” she commented, sitting back up but eyeing the bird. She listened further to what the dark femme had to say before speaking once more. ”Believe me, Nova,” she started, ”I know we wolves aren’t built to live alone. However, it’s everyone’s safety I’m worried about. I need to speak to Marcel and Raven before I’ll feel comfortable, and will wait for Remington’s judgement about them also.” Her first day of being alpha female and she was already beginning to show the sort of leader she’d be. She knew she’d try to take the opinions of everyone into account, but at the end of the day would decide what she saw as best for the pack. She knew she’d always defer to Remington for official decisions, both because she valued his decisions and also because he was the wolf originally chosen to lead them; Velvet was in this position because they were mates. Speak of the devil, she thought, glancing to the side at the growl Remington let out. She grinned and wagged her tail, though her eyes narrowed in playful suspicion. What was he up to? She sat a little straighter, so as to best show off her perfectly kept pelt, and looked at him with hooded eyes. She couldn’t wait to spend her life with him, and one day raise pups together. Nova’s voice caused her to look away from her mate. A look of fear passed over Velvet’s face at Nova’s final question, and the femme seemed almost frozen for a few moments. The mention of the earthquake out loud, directed to her, brought back very vivid memories of trees crashing and pups shrieking. They’d all been able to sense that something was wrong that morning, but none of them could have imagined what was to come. Their small pack, a place of serene beauty, was torn apart and scattered. Velvet had fled, terrified, and when she finally returned there had been nothing left. She slowly opened eyes she hadn’t realised she’d squeezed shut and found herself staring at the ground. ”I’m sorry, I,” her voice broke, ”I can’t talk about it.” 0 players like this post! Like? |

Kade || Female || 5 years || Beta female Kade eventually got a hold of herself and stood. With one paw, she carefully groomed her face so that it was impossible to tell she had been crying, and began the run back to the pack. It seemed longer than when she'd gone but soon she reached the group and walked over to where Velvet and Nova were talking. "I'm back," she said, then looked with concern at the alpha female as her voice broke. "Is everything okay? What happened?" she asked, looking to Nova, as Velvet didn't exactly seem up to answering questions. Everything else seemed fine. The new wolves were still meeting with Remington and Rivers and Dakota were being cute. For some reason, she had had the feeling that some sort of disaster would strike while she was gone, and she really did not like the thought of that. Rivers || Female || 3 years || Scout Rivers found herself in a moment of extreme happiness as Dakota rubbed along her neck and sat back beside her. She resumed their previous position, with her head on his shoulder, and just watched the goings-on of the pack around them. Kade had returned and looked fine, if a little tired. Remington was talking to the new males. Nova and Velvet were talking; the beta seemed to have joined in their conversation. Everything seemed so right at that moment in time, with her beside Dakota, Velvet and Remington still half-flirting, and everyone just getting along. It was hard to imagine anything else, but somewhere, her memories of her old pack still lingered. But Dakota had called her unique. He didn't think she was odd or out of place. And that made her feel invincible, like every taunt she'd been on the wrong end of as a pup and adolescent had been completely meaningless. Because she was beautiful. Sollux had said so. She smiled as she remembered their earlier conversation; he'd seemed so flustered and Rivers hoped he hadn't been offended when she went with Dakota to talk. 0 players like this post! Like? |
