Soren nodded curtly, and turned to continue up the rise, raising his pace to a light jog for a few moments, gradually quickening his pace until he was at a steady run. His muscles flexed under his skin as he ran, and the fish made him salivate, this should do just the trick to get his sister to eat!

Kenai | 3 | Alpha

Twitching her ears, Kenai tilted her head towards Derryn "I dont think there should be any problem with it..?-", glancing back at Daemon with a confused expression "Is there? I wouldn't think so. Would you be teaching her how to hunt, or fight, Daemon? You enjoy a good hunt more than a tussle, and i dont think the young omega would quite enjoy a fight with you - play or not - after all." She hummed thoughtfully.

Daemon||Male||3.5||Hunter

His ears twisted towards Derryn for the beta's input, eyes glancing to Kenai at the question. "A little bit of both, she needs to know how to defend herself as wel as hunt if she ever gets lost and doesnt starve." He said with a slightly nervous smile. Maybe the beta would decline, what would they do then? Just sit there in camp doing nothing? No, I'd take her to the outskirts of camp. His eyes swivled back to Derryn with a slight hopeful expression now, his tail wagging ever so slightly.

Falcon||Male||3||Noble

The noble easily kept up with the apprentice, occassionally passing the male and slowing his pace slightly to keep at the same pace. We should be there just before the sunsets. He thought, glancing up slightly and looking down to narrowly dodge one of the scarce trees of the territory. His mouth watered slightly, since the fish was hanging from his jaws, but he was saving it for the beta. I think Soren is saving his for the alpha as well.. A nice treat for the pair..

I climbed on a near by rock, facing toward the duskfall border. I twitched my tail absent mindedly. 'It's too quite' I thought. I looked around camp. There's Snake, she couldn't help. Cloud and Tiriaq but that would be obvious to send a warrior to check a boarder. I've already done it. Kenai has better things to do and Derryn does as well. Then I notice Daemon. His wagging tail told me he was excited for something. I'd hate to be the bearer of bad news for him, but he's the only available wolf for it. I sighed and got up.

Derryn||Male||4||Beta

Derryn tilted his head as he listened to Daemon. "Its very thoughtful of you to look out for your pack member like that... I have no problem with it, as long as you two bring some fresh bedding back with you. We need it for the lower dens, especially for the elders." He conceded, wagging his tail a little. It was amusing to see Daemon's excitement. "I think we may have an important ceremony first, if so you can go afterwards." The large male looked to Kenai, glancing st the sun's position. It was getting close to time, if Soren came back in time.

Kenai | 3 | Alpha

Glancing up at the sun, she sighed with exasperation "My foolish brother better get here soon. For now, stay in camp and practice some basic fighting moves, if the sun recedes behind the cliff-face and the noble Falcon and the apprentice Soren do not return by then, then you and the omega Snake have permission to leave camp and try your luck at a hunt or trying to hunt."

Nearing the camp, Soren's pace quickened again, running at full speed and cresting the bottom of the camp, sprinting past the lake and up the side of the hill, skidding to a halt about fifteen feet from his sister and the beta, penting slightly, looking up at the sun, hopeful that he'd made it in time.

I stood off from the group, waiting to be acknowledged before coming closer. Soren came bounding over the hill, and I knew my request would have to wait. I glanced at the sun and realized it would only be a while before I could try to ask again.

Falcon||Male||3||Noble

The large male chuckled at the pups antics, yes he was nearly 2 but he was still a pup in Falcon's eyes. He soon stopped near the trio, glancing towards Daemon with a tilt of his head at the grouls. Huffing lowly, the Noble flicked his ear and focused his attention back to the pair, "For you Derryn." He said dropping the fish at the beta's paws, nodding towards Soren then Kenai with a smirk. "Some of the best fish in the territory."

Daemon||Male||3.5||Hunter

Daemon dipped his head at the pair, "Thank you both!" He said with a smirk before trotting down the hill, rolling out of the way of Soren with a growl. The male made his way back to Snake, "We may go after the ceremony if you're up for it Snake." He said with a slight tilt of his head, tail swinging slightly as he looked towards the middle of the territory. "For now, Alpha Kenai said to practice some basic fighting things, but I'd rather teach a pounce." He muttered with a shrug of his shoulder.

Soren lowered his head and released the fish from his fangs, next to his sister, "An offering, Alpha." Waiting expectantly for her to say the words, he hesitated to step away.

Kenai | 3 | Alpha

Chuckling softly she bent her head to take the smallest bite of the fish "I accept your offering, Soren" Keeping herself from spitting out the bite of fish - its not that she didn't like it, its that she hadnt eaten for a few days and hadnt intended to start with something so strong smelling. Kenai glanced at Derryn "Well then, let's get this ceremony started if we plan on finishing before sunfall."

Derryn nodded in agreement, an was going to speak until he saw Soren and Falcon approach. He nodded to the noble gratefully. "Thank you, I accept the offering." The large male crouched and took a bite, and swallowed the delicious fish before looking to Kenai. "Right. Are you ready Soren?" He asked, rising to his paws.

Kenai / Soren | 3y / 20m | Alpha / Royal Guard

Kenai hopped up the cliffside, onto an overhanging ledge that ran almost all the way down to the lake (the main ridge before the lake in the picture) "Let all wolves, ranked all ranks, gather beneath the Sunridge. Today, we celebrate the 20th moon of one of our apprentices - Soren?"

(S) Rising to his paws and padding toward his sister, Soren leaped onto a low lying ledge of the ridge, just high enough to be seen by all, and low enough to not hinder his sister's rank.

"As you all know-", Kenai began, "Soren has been training to be a Royal Guard. He has chosen to protect - to risk his life for - the next generation of wolves in Sunrise. Soren, son of the late alpha Nikol, and noble Kerna, do you swear to always put yourself between danger and the young pups of this pack, of the high ranked wolves of this pack?"

"I swear."

"Do you, Soren, swear on the rank of Royal Guard, to watch, oversee, protect, value, and or foster EVERY pup of this pack, no matter the heritage?"

"I swear on my rank, Royal Guard of the dignified Sunrise Pack."

"Then on my rank, Alpha of the Sunrise Pack, I grant you the rank of Royal Guard," Stepping forward down the ridge, Kenai pressed her nose to Soren's ear before stepping back again. Sitting at the top of the ridge, she tilted her head back, and as the sun slipped behind the mountain, marking the end of the ceremony, Kenai started the ceremonial howl, wishing both the sun and the subject of the ceremony good luck and good 'night'.

The Omega just managed to get to the camp at the time of the ceremony. She quietly sat towards the back of the crowd as Daemon approached her.

She drew her ears back for a moment before nodding. "... Sure... I can do that..." She mumbled, looking back at the Alpha. "It seems Soren finally came of age."

He watched her for a minute before focusing on the ceremony, "Yea. The little twerp finally made it up there." He snickered before raising his muzzle and letting out a deep howl, joining the others in the ceremonial howl. After his breath ran out and the howls died down, he nudged Snake with his tail, he moved towards the exit. "Come on, this is gonna be great!"

I trotted over to Daemon and Snake. I have to hurry. "Daemon. Snake." I greeted, giving a dip of my nose. Not showing them a lot of respect as if they were Kappa or a Noble, but still showing I have respect for them. "I have a small quest for you to do Daemon. I know you must have something planned, but I need you to do a 'hunt' by the sunrise boarder. It'll be less suspicious if you looked like you were hunting instead of me or a warrior doing it." I explained. I made a mental note to keep it on my mind, so I can make sure his work is credited.

A small grumble exited his mouth, "We were actually going to go out and practice that... We can move along the border if you wish?" He said cocking his head to the side. Im not letting this go that easily. He thought with a inward smirk. His eyes traveling to Snake, "Your coming with Snake, I said we were so come on." He stopped walking so he could talk to the Zeta, "We need more hunters." He said with a small sigh, moving his head towards the open territory. "I wont be enough for us this winter.."

Derryn took his place below the ridge, in front of Soren during the ceremony, standing at attention, his ears high and tail flat. When the howl began, he joined, adding his deep voice to Kenai's. When it was finished, he approached Sorren. "Royal Gaurd Soren, you have quite a journey ahead of you. The Pack's trust and luck goes with you for as long as you uphold your oaths." He said softly, bowing his head briefly in respect for his new rank, before standing again.
