Nova languidly stretched like a feline outside his den, parting his jaws in a yawn and blinking in the pale light. He flexed his hind leg, wincing slightly at the stiffness that remained. At least the pain had lessened over the passing over summer, and he could now run for some lengths on good days, though leaping and sparring was far beyond him yet. The humans had healed him so well that hardly even a scar remained, though his ear would never look pretty again. For some reason they had also put a strange black collar around his neck that was made of stuff impossible to chew through or wear down, and a black block half the size of his paw was attached to it. It didn't bother him anymore and it was put down to the strange whims of humans.

Pyre | Noble

While Nova was ok with the collar, Pyre had been furious. She trusted humans even less than before, and never let the chance to glare at Adsila pass her by. Even Aela hadnt escaped Pyre's wrath, and Pyre hadnt spoken to her own sister since Nova had returned about a month ago. She had started to either spend her days out hunting and sharpening her fighting skills, or up in the highest branches of the trees that she could climb, hiding from the entire pack. She couldnt even face Nova, or any of the others for that matter, and usually awoke long before dawn and returned well after high moon (midnight ish I'd think), the lack of sleep in her days would build until she spent a day sleeping in the trees. The only real time she spent in camp was when she returned to leave prey, to eat, and to report to Lucifer on the borders. Since the battle, Pyre's been feeling off about the opposite border to sunrise. At times, she'd see pairs of eyes watching her, new scents coming from deeper into the forests, and twice she'd heard multiple wolves howling at once. Pyre spent most of her time in the trees, watching that border.

Shaking out her pelt the small red wolf bounced towards Nova, she was so glad her plan had worked. Admittedly the radio collar was a bit of a pain but she knew it was simply to help. "How're you today Nova?" she asked him, her tail swayed gently from side to side in happiness. Going back had given her a chance to see her family again, well her father at least. It turned out her mother had also been released, although her father was too old and tame to go out into the wild. "You look one heck of a lot better than two months ago" her eyes scanned over his now mostly healed body.

Nova turned his emerald gaze to Adsila and smiled. "I feel one heck of a lot better than I did two months ago too," he said in good humour. He flicked an ear downwards towards his leg, "I don't think I can run around as much as I used to but its better than being dead. I have you to thank for that." Aela had filled him in on the details when he had returned. She had checked the human place every day until he had emerged, limping but healed and with a whole lot of questions that had been burning a hole in his brain since he'd woken up. At first he'd been angry that they had put him in there without consulting him, but the realisation that she, Pyre and especially Adsila had saved his life hadn't escaped him. The wolves in the sanctuary had been kind to him and gradually he had come to appreciate what the humans had been doing to him. He might not have seen his pack again otherwise. "I guess I owe one to the humans as well now, ha ha."

Aela wandered through the forest near the Sunrise border, stepping over puddles of rain that had gathered during the wet nights and ducking beneath dew-hung branches. Her sky-like eyes scanned the lowest branches of the trees, watching for a red pelt that she was getting quite impatient with these days. She had already looked through most of Pyres favourite haunts and figured she might be patrolling. "Pyre!" she called, "can you stop the sulking already please? It's been a moon. You're worse than a pup- ACK!" she looked down in horror at her front right paw, now submerged in what looked- and smelled- like deer dung. With a disgusted snarl she yanked her paw out and hobbled over to the border, wiping it clean on the grass beyond. It's not like Sunrise could possibly smell any worse anyway.

Pyre padded through the forest, her ears open and nose sniffing every so often. She was about to reach the border of the unknown wolf pack, and paused, listening and smelling. She could smell something past the Duskfall border, but she didnt dare to travel past the border.

She smiled and nodded her head "I'm glad you're alive, although I'm sorry about the radio collar" she looked to the ground for a moment. She felt guilty they'd put that thing on him, but she also knew that it wouldn't harm him, a small price to pay right? "Not just me, Aela too, she was about the only wolf ready to hear me out. Well Lucifer too, but Aela stood up for me when I thought I was alone" she smiled softly. Aela had been a great ally when the fiasco with Pyre went down, she was sure Pyre still hated her for taking Nova to the humans. "I'm also glad that you don't hate me for what I did, I knew they would help. As for owing humans anything you don't, they never asked anything of me or my family anyway" she shrugged slightly. Adsila had spent time with her father, not leaving the compound until Nova had returned. Luckily she was on the other side of the fence, especially when it came to Nova first finding out where he was.

Nova shrugged, not caring when he felt the collar slide against his collar bones. "It doesn't bother me any more." When she mentioned Aela he nodded in agreement "She did her part too. I'm indebted to the both of you. It wasn't great being around the humans so much but they did save me. " Aela would grovel to her worst enemy if it meant saving what was important to her, he thought fondly. His bunny-brained friend rarely had room for hatred in her heart, though he had heard her cursing Killuas name on more than one occasion. He looked out toward the forest and let the scents of the forest flow into his mouth. His stomach grumbled at the smell of deer and other warm bodied critters. returning his gaze to Adsila, he gave her a grin "Feel up for a hunt with me? I haven't tried it yet and the boredom of sitting in camp is killing me."
