Arielle felt the heat steadily rising in her ears as the dark wolf called her cute. The crown of her head bumped against his, only able to hold it for a moment before Lucifer's galloping pawsteps hit her ears. She half-jumped, half-rolled to the side to evade the alphess, giggling as she did. Her heart swelled with the return of the brothers; the return of her two best friends. Their leaving had saddened her, but the boys had their own ways of grieving. Her voice chorused in with the others', congratulating Nova on his incredible promotion.

Keahi/1yr/Male/Loner

"A couple more steps and you will be mine.." the red wolf whispered lowly as he sneaks towards his prey, a bluebird, as slowly and quietly as he could. That's it, that's it, the male smirks as he flexes his shoulders, lowering to the ground once he grew close enough to pounce. "Raaah!" he howled as he burst through the bushes, leaping at the bird.

Startled by the sudden noise, the bird flapped its wings and took off into the air, barely avoiding the male's jaws. "Hey! You're supposed to be my lunch! Get back here!" The brute growled his prey flew to safety.

Nova ducked his head and felt his ears grow hot with embarrassment as everyone celebrated his new title. When the voices had died down he grinned at his pack mates, "Thanks guys. I won't let you down," he promised. His green eyes met Gem and Sky's. "Welcome back! You've grown," he chuckled and padded over to the pair. He was still a head taller than the both of them but it was better than them only reaching his shoulder like the last time he had seen them.
Sky flashed him a smile and said "You've changed as well Nova. Nice look you have going there. It'll scare all our enemies away!".
Gem rolled his eyes but Nova only laughed. "Lets hope so! It'll save me becoming even more ragged if they run at the sight of me."

Aela flicked her tail "Well it was great seeing you two but I'm gonna continue on my patrol. See you later!" She whirled and ran out of camp again, heading for where she had left off. As she ran a breeze swirled around her, bringing with it the smells of the forest. Her nose twitched. That wasn't a Duskfall scent she had detected! Had ShadowPack returned already? With a growl she changed direction and raced towards the rogue smell. "Raaah!" she skidded to a stop as a howl pierced the air and a small bird flew from a nearby clump of bushes. Heart pounding, she crept forward and heard a strange voice complaining about the lost bird.
"Who's there?" she snapped, fur rising. "Come out now or I'll call for back up!"

Keahi/1yr/Male/Loner

"I'm hungry!" the male barked as the bird places itself on a branch, looking down victoriously at him, "Oooh, when I get my paws on you-" The red wolf's ears twitches as a feminine voice came from behind from behind him. His fur rose and he turns around, yellow eyes glaring in the direction of the new voice.

It's a pack wolf! The male realizes as fear floods through him, "I-I.. my name is Keahi," he lowered to the ground in defeat, afraid to face the wolf. I'm such a wimp.. he thought sadly.

Aela | Scout | 4

Aela gazed at the small, strange wolf, taking in his russet pelt and submissive pose. Her hostility disappeared and she padded forward until they were a length apart "What are you doing here Keahi?" she asked in a kind tone. "You do know you were hunting on pack territory right? You would have crossed the scent markers a few minutes back." She kept her body language relaxed as not to frighten the wolf any further. Something about him stirred her protective side and she didn't want him to be afraid of her, though she kept alert for any other wolves nearby.

"I'm sorry, I haven't eaten in weeks since all these packs bordering here seems to take all the prey," the wolf's yellow eyes cast up at the bird, "I was lucky to have found that thing." Keahi growled as the bird flapped its wings at him tauntingly. The red wolf's fur fluffed up and he snarls up at the winged creature, the bird instantly chirping and flying off. "Hey! I'm not done with you yet!"

Aela gave a small huff of laughter as she watched him growl at the bird "You know, I don't think that's the way to convince him to let you eat him." She looked up at the bird "And that scrawny guy won't fill your stomach at all. Why don't you come back with me and I can get you something before you go on your way? Hunting here will only get you into trouble with my less forgiving friends." Inviting him back to the camp was probably not the smartest move. Lucifer or Nova would chew her ear off for it. But she felt like she could trust the younger wolf and she felt sorry for him as well. She'd had her share of hungry days before and it was thanks to the kindness of others that she'd gone on.

Keahi turns back to the wolf and flicks his ear, "It's probably not, but I'm still hungry-" the wolf's invitation cut him off and he lowers his haunches, sitting on the ground before tucking his tail around his scrawny, fragile body. "Your pack may not welcome me. Wolves seem to despise we red wolves now since we're nearly extinct."

Aela blinked in surprise "Really? Well you won't have to worry about that with us. Our kappa is a red wolf." She flicked her tail at his ribs "Come on. I won't let them not welcome you." She tilted her head and smiled warmly, hoping to lessen his anxiety "I'm Aela by the way. Aela the scout!" (short sorry)

"Scout?" Keahi asks, unfamiliar with the term, "What's that? A high-ranked wolf? Are you close to the alpha?" He asked curiously; wagging his tail as he sniffs the air.

"A kappa is in charge of all the hunting. She's pretty high ranked, much higher than me anyway...but Adsila is nice so don't worry,' Aela replied. "No one is particularly close to our alpha but she is fair and we all like her a lot. My best friends are the beta and a noble, which is ranked just below kappa." She turned and looked over her shoulder at him "If you come, you can learn about it all in camp. Otherwise I'll have to chase you out right now!"
