Adsila looked at Pyre, noticing the small head dip. She knew the wolf had made a request but she had needed to show her that it was her decision not the nobels. She shook out her pelt and began to allow her nose to lead the way, she knew her reasonings and she knew it would work. They wanted to take the apprentice so they best utilise her. Use her youth and energy to either wear the deer out or so she can slow the eer down for the others. Aela can keep their half of the herd together to make it easier for them and Nakoma has a strong enough kill drive to add the muscle to take down the wolf. I need the other two, since there's only a small party of us I need all the muscle I can get. her inner monologue ran. She swung her head back to see Nakoma and Pyre heading off for a private talk and a small growl emitted from her maw. The usually peaceful wolf was being pushed too far today and was about to explode in anger, not something anyone had seen before.

Arielle padded to take a position by Pyre and sniffed near her cheek kindly. Now could I do something, she thought, anxious for the delayed hunt, "If she hadn't had stopped us, then we would be hunting by now!" She shifted and stood near Aela as Pyre went off to speak to Nakoma. (Sorry about shortness, WB)

I waited tell Adsila had gone before I started to pace angrily back and forth, digging my claws into the ground as I did. I looked at Aela and Arielle, before looking back down. It wasn't their fault. "It's not fair." I growled, my lips pulling back slightly before I forced them back down. "She knew what she was doing." I swiped at the ground. "So we have me and you that can take the deer down, a herder and an apprentice." I stated, more to myself than anything. "We need to be on the kill, so neither of us can keep guard. Aela could, but on top of herding, that's going to be impossible. This is Arielle's first hunt, so she would usually watch, but we need another wolf." I glared at the ground as I continued to pace. "We could-no." I shook my head. I paced a little more, before coming to a conclusion. "Arielle will just have to learn to herd on this hunt." I said sternly, not in the mood for any more compromising.

Aela, scout, talks to Arielle

Aela bounded after her hunt mates for a few paces to catch up before falling into a swift trot near the head, so she could lead them to where they were going. She felt some uneasiness at the confrontation between Pyre, Nakoma and Adsila. She knew her sister wasn't the type to let things go so easily and she only hoped she wouldn't encourage Nakoma to be provocative towards Adsila. Their beta, Lucifer, wouldn't be happy if squabbles broke out over a simple hunt. The growls of Pyre reached her ears so she quickly moved to Arielle's side. "Your mentor is hot tempered," she said with a forced smile. "It won't be an easy hunt but that will only force you to learn faster. Just focus on our body language and your instincts will tell you what to do next." gotta kick up the speed today Aela. Two jobs at once! the presentation of the challenge didn't faze the golden she-wolf. It invigorated her rather. Her father would never have seen this as a set back, he would have faced it as an opportunity and barked at everyone to do the same.

Nova, Noble, talks to Adsila

Nova tapped his tail to Adsila's in a friendly manner as they moved, hoping to lighten the move "Don't take it to heart," he said. "Everyone knows you're in charge for hunts. Pyre can be pretty head strong since she's used to be the leader of the group after all. We'll do fine. Baring your teeth every now and then doesn't hurt either." He chuckled and then lifted his head to sniff the air. A heavy breeze ruffled the chocolate fur around his face, bringing with it the mouth watering scent of prey. "I think we're close. The herd must have moved closer this way."

(I can make another wolf to join their hunt if you like? I have one in mind for later anyway, though its an older apprentice)

Pyre growled at Nakoma's conclusion "Not happening. If she were a few moons older, and a bit more experienced, I'd allow it. But we're going on a DEER hunt. She's 7 moons old! Think of it as sending an untrained Maiara on a raid to sunrise, to kill that young alpha they have, and their experienced beta. Arielle will learn to herd small animals before she learns to herd DEER! Aela will herd, Nakoma and I will attack, Arielle will watch us from afar. I doubt she's even seen a LIVE deer, Nakoma! Aela will herd and when she has the time, glance around. Nakoma and I will just be more on our guards, cast out our senses, you know? I will not have any compromise on this, Nakoma. Believe what you like, i will not risk an apprentice's life on anything: lose the implied challenge, prove Adsila right, lose a meal."

Pyre raised her head "Alright then, any questions?"

Adsila sighed softly although the anger inside her refused to fade. She was glad Nova was at least supportive of her decision, after all she was sure it was right. "How can I not take it to heart? They basically took my duty and then mock my decision. How is that not personal?" she had finally snapped. A loud growl erupted from her, for such a small wolf she could make a lot of noise. "I'm usually calm, but if pressed like I have been I will not be afraid to bare my teeth. After this I will not compromise with anyone, that and those lot are not going on a hunt for a long while" he mind was made up. She may not be alpha but she deserved some respect, she got the position she did because of her ability. Hr nose twitched, her mind now going back to the hunt. "Very true Nova, I'm planning on taking down the large buck. That way we can have a few meals, it stops the pack from going hungry".

Arielle sighed, discouraged, "I know, Aela, I just didn't expect there to be this much squabbling before a routine hunt." She paused for a moment before asking, "Is it always like this?" She was beginning to wonder how she would even begin to hunt the deer. Her doubts surfaced, causing her to quickly cry out, "I don't even know how to bring down some of the bigger tenderfeet in play, let alone an entire deer," she began to calm, realizing that there were other, much more experienced wolves in the hunt and that she would have help, "But I guess if you say my instincts will tell me what to do, the I trust you."

Kina's ears swiveled towards the barking and noise of a hunting party, and rolled her eyes. The hunters always seemed to be squabbling over something while they hunted. The healer then turned her attention back to the beta walking beside her. "Whichever is more convenient would be great." She said gratefully. "I don't want my overcautiousness to interfere with your duties as Beta."

She shrugged, "We can go early tomorrow so I can keep an eye on that hunting team. They never know when to stop fighting or bickering." She shook her head slightly, dipping her head in a goodbye to the Healer before picking her body up into her 'beta' stance and moving towards where she heard the barks and growls. Trained eyes landed on the group with a tilt of her head, they were taking an apprentice? And split up? "I'll talk to them when I get back..." It seemed Pyre and Adsila were at it again, the 'fight's between them were getting old and fast. She watched them go before moving to walk a bit behind them, out of ear shot but in range of sight. She wanted to see what they were doing.

Shaking her head and taking a pace forward, Pyre huffed out "Alright. Enough of this, Adsila has made her choice, it is her rank's duty, so we can't bicker over it. We just need to show her that she is wrong. To show her that, we need to bring down something big, but not so big we fail."

"I get what you're saying, but the young wolf can chase the deer. And that can help Aela, and that's what we need. Aela takes charge of herding, the apprentice helps push, you and I do the guarding and killing. She's a safe distance away, but closer and can better see what to do. Give the apprentice a chance! Cause no one, especially you, didn't think I could get my teeth into the alpha, and I did. Yes, I was older, but I was given the chance and it wasn't in vain! I'm not saying she has to be right there at it's hooves, cause I for sure don't want her hurt, but I don't want her casted out, and made felt like she's not helping liking I was. You have to trust her. Give her the chance." I raised my head to match the height of Pyre's. She wanted the young wolf to have a chance to show herself, and I would be the first one there to protect her of something went wrong, which I doubt will. She wants the young apprentice to have a chance.

Pyre and Nakoma seemed to be arguing about something, her eyes rolling slightly at the bickering. Her paws moved silently through the terrain as she followed curiously. Maybe I should jump in... Her eyebrow quirked up for a moment before she made her decision. Picking up the pace she trotted right up to the Kappa, giving a small dip of her head, "I will be joining this hunt, Which group should I join?" She gave no room for arguement against her choice, but she'd let the Kappa choose where'd she be. She could practically feel the anger rolling off her and Pyre.

Sighing softly, Pyre turned her head away from Nakoma. "My decision is for the best, i AM the one leading this party, Nakoma. Arielle can do as you say, if she chooses to, but if a deer so much as touches her fur?-" Turning around sharply, in Nakoma's face "I will let you have it, am i clear?" her words were tinged with venom and her voice was so cold and low that it gave even her chills. Pyre didnt have any pups, and didnt really seem to want any at the time - but Arielle was something else, someONE that Pyre couldn't say no to...if she wanted to actively participate, Pyre wouldnt stop her unless it risked her life or her health.
