"Illumi cut off his ear before he ended him quickly, he's delivering it as proof now i assume. A silver moon female, his friend, found us, but i complicated things a bit in keeping Illumi from killing her, but i know you and Kani wouldnt have wanted unecessary blood to be shed. Thats why Illumi is angry with me, he wanted to have fun with the packs he held no loyalty to, but i swayed him against it, for the time being." Gently, Killua nudged Shayla with his head "Cheer up please, his suffering is over. His puppies and mate whom he watched die are with him again now, and he no longer must suffer from his oen memories. I wished him pax morte, as tradition goes." He murmured, his tail stroking Shayla reassuringly {Ugh. Illumi, you damn son of a beast, noe im stuck with Ms. Emotional, Mr. Foul mouthed, and Mr. Easily trusted roge here. Its disgusting. I sure hope Shadow and father dont approve of this.}.

He gives the other male a cold glare when he looks back at him but keeps his mouth shut, awkwardly standing about and listening. Uncle Nova? Grandmas? Who next, second-cousin Hilda? He didn't know what or who or when or why these wolves where talking about and felt severely out of place in the situation, holding onto his anger of being sat on by the mud-covered stranger only to keep himself from awkwardly sauntering off back to somewhere that made at least some sense.

Her groan of protest grows louder at the other wolf's words and she rolls around dramatically in the grass. After a moment she eyes the other wolf and slowly rolls to her feet, "Fine." She says gruffly and strolls back to the carcass, staring it down. Why couldn't they have just gone after rabbits? Her teeth latch around one of the stag's front legs and she winces a bit at the pain in her sliced-open cheek, tugging against the weight of the animal.

He jumps over a fallen log, tongue lolled out happily. A rabbit speeds through the undergrowth ahead of him, it's white pelt flashing with every turn. He lopes after it gleefully, finally catching up and snatching it off the ground with a quick movement of his head and teeth. As it goes limp in his jaws he holds it proudly, gazing around as if he had been putting on a show for the forest and it was applauding him in his victory.

His face slowly twists into a look of revolt and confusion. Pack Scent. It wafted through the trees towards him, the audacity. This was his land.. or, well, maybe it wasn't since he was a lone wolf.. But still! He drops the rabbit for a moment, leaning down to inspect the scent further. It didn't belong to the neighbouring pack and so it wasn't them just expanding their borders, no. It was a faint scent, they must be a small pack in the process of growing. How great. He would just have to visit his new neighbours, it was the only right thing to do. With a wave of his tail he scoots up the dead rabbit and happily saunters after the smell.

Shayla moved out of Killuas reach, curling her lips back to bear her teeth in a quiet growl. "Talk about sparing life all you want, Killua," she snapped. "I'm sure you enjoyed it as much as Illumi. You're both sick." She knew she was being a bit unfair. Illumi and Killua had just done their jobs, that was all. And they had no personal grudge against Nova. But the pain of losing one of her previously closest friends cut deep and made her angry with the world in general. They had grown up together after all. She looked at Coy and felt a moment of guilt that she had left him out of the loop. "Come on, lets get this border marking over with. Kilu can find his own way back." She decided to tell Coy and Kismet about the history of Nova and ShadowPack, if they wanted to listen. There shouldnt be secrets between pack mates.

Killua sighed quietly and shrugged "Alright, ill just follow Mr. Invisible back." He padded after the patrol's scsnt trail, soon coming to a pond which he happily rolled in, washing off any mud he had lathered on his white coat. After removing it all, he shook his pelt dry and decided to run at full speed to the camp. Darting through the trees, he didnt bother to hide the vibrations his paws made, happy to recieve a welcome. He burst through the entrance, nearly trampling the little puppy playing with the moss, and halted on a dime. "Ahhh its so nice here! Good find, sisters" he tilted his head to the side, face to face with a bored looking Artemis who turned around and jumprd into her nursery in progress hole "Awww how mean, Artemis~" he sneered, peering around. "Hmm, Shayla wasnt joking. You really did take in some loners, my darling sister-" he tilted his head to the right, staring right at Illumi and Meruem "Do you believe father would approve of a loner infested shadowpack? There are more loners than shadowpack born. I know you're a gentle soul, like our mother, but its best not to take in so many, lest someone come to check in on you."

"Who's a gentle soul? And don't call me darling, you'll sour my stomach," Meruem growled, though she padded over to Killua and touched her muzzle to his shoulder in greeting. She sat back and lifted her chin defiantly. "Nebula is not here. Neither is Shadow nor Argent or anyone who has commanding power higher than mine. These wolves have earned their right into the pack and you'd be wise to hold your tongue on the matter. If Shadow herself were to come 'check in' herself, I wouldn't care. In this forest I am alpha." She looked past him to Jazzlyn, whom he had nearly crushed under-paw. Her green eyes turns to slits and she glared at him "And watch where you are going. I am glad you are back but there are some here who do not know you well. Don't be surprised to find your ass bitten if you hurt that pup there." Her black tipped tail flicked to Isis, the mother and she gave Killua a meaningful look.

Illumi padded over quietly, taking in every word Meruem said. He didn't yet know where his loyalty stood. The main ShadowPack or this branch? If either side came to blows he wouldn't know where he would end up, though the thought of fighting against Shadow did send a shiver of delight through him. Contests of strength were pleasures he liked to indulge in. "This ear belongs to the traitor. Consider the mission a success," he said with a dip of his head of true respect, not the phony acting he pulled in Sunrise Pack. Meruem looked at the ear and nodded with a satisfied expression.
"Good. I'll have a messenger sent tomorrow."

(For those who want to know, Meruem, Killua, Illumi and Artemis are litter mates and their parents were Nebula and Argent in the old shadowpack. Their paternal grandmother,Shadow, is the old alpha. Shadows brother, Lyrax, is the father of Shayla. So she is second cousin to the above four mentioned. Nova is their father, Nebulas, older brother and thus their uncle. He is in Duskfall pack at the moment (see link at top of page). He betrayed the pack and ran away, and Illumi and Killua were sent to assassinate him both to make an example of him and to ensure he did not spread pack secrets. 'Aunt Kina' is Nebula and Novas sister

Jazzlyn gave a squeak as the male nearly barrelled over her, her tri-toned fur fluffing up in surprise. She walked after him with a tilted head, "You stink." She muttered under her breath before her eyes caught his tail and a smirk played on her lips, about to jump for it her mom snapped at her harshly. She groaned and moved back to where she was shredding moss for the dens.

Isis let out a warning growl to the pure white and black males entering camp, the white one nearly ran over Jazzlyn! She watched the pup amble up to his tail and shook her head, "Jazz! No biting strangers they could have diseases!" She barked out sharply, watching the pup sulk back to the moss. She shook the dirt off her pelt, revealing the black pelt with white littering it like the stars. Her unnatural blue eyes locked on Killua's, "Watch where your going."

Killua snorted in amusement at Isis "I know where I'm going, Ive practiced my speed in more obstacle courses than you could count, so relax." He swung his head to Meruem and sneered as she mentioned the soured stomach. When she touched her muzzle to his shoulder, he did the same and smiled, a sincere, gentle smile this time "Sister-no, i guess alpha now- im glad to be back. If these former loners have all proved themselves to be worthy shadowpack members, then i will accept them, as you have. Artemis even seems gentle and calm here!" He grinned at his other sister, to which she growled at him, and he tilted his head in amusememt "In comparison to when we left." He added hastily, a small smile coming to his lips.

As Illumi mentioned Nova's ear, he frowned "Shayla is angry with us for killing him. Its best we be weary around her for now."

Shayla | Gamma | F

Shayla brushed against a prickly bush that grew along the border, making sure to leave long strands of shiny silken fur behind. She sniffed it and once satisfied that her scent was over it completely, moved on to the next border marking. This was a young tree. Rearing up to stand on her back legs, she drew powerful fore legs down the trunk, her nails biting deep into the bark and leaving deep gouges that clearly spoke of the territory being occupied. "Hows it going on your end, Coy?" she called to the other wolf. She dropped down to all fours. her heart still thudded painfully in her chest after the news of Nova's death but lingering on the grief would do nothing and help no one. She would move on as she had moved on after her fathers death.

Meruem | Alpha | 2

Meruem met the eyes of a grizzled omega who was lingering around the edges of camp. He faltered under her gaze but swallowed his anxiety and slunk over. "You...Dusty, was it? Take this ear to Shadow at first light. Do not fail, or you won't have a pack to come back to." Her cold eyes sent an icy cold shiver down his spine and he bowed, muttering his agreement. She watched him take the ear away and spoke to Killua again "Shayla knew Nova as we did not. It's only natural for her to grieve, as long as that is all she does. Keep an eye on her and make sure she remembers where her loyalties lie. If they lie with the dead she may need a lesson on reality."

The female heaves the carcass slowly but surely, panting loudly by the time they make it back to their camp. Things had changed, dens had been dug out and the area looked much more clean. She turns around when she hears Meruem's voice, fully intending to announce their kill when she spots the strange wolves standing around her. Her ears perk slightly and she quickly snaps her mouth closed, blinking confusedly. New recruits? They were in a new area so it was possible these wolves could have smelled them and wondered up but the way they were speaking and interacting.. old friends? family members? She shakes her head and turns back to Raphael, giving him the same confused gaze.

Killua glanced at his sister and nodded politely to the female, still annoyed that so few Shadowpack born wolves were actually here.

Artemis glanced at Kiche with a polite tail wave, padding over "So, catch a good one?" She dipped her head and grabbed hold of the deer's neck and helped drag the deer forward, trotting with her head held high as she added her own strength to the others.

Raphael shared Kiche's wariness of the new wolves. He gazed at them with no hidden distrust in his amber eyes, and growled quietly. He didn't like the way they smelled, or the way Meruem was holding herself with such ease beside them. A memory crossed his mind, of when Shayla had been teaching him all the names of the pack and the rules; she had mentioned a pair of brothers who were complete opposites in everything but skill and had left to complete a mission assigned by the main pack. Was this them? When Artemis approached he relaxed his guarded pose and helped the she-wolves drag the deer to where the kill pile had been carved from the ground. Artemis would be as likely to bite his nose off as tell him anything so he didn't bother asking her. "It's fine," he responded curtly and kept his gaze on the new wolves.

Meruem | Alpha | Mentions Kiche, the brothers and Artemis
Meruem saw the looks Kiche and Raphael exchanged, and sighed, suddenly tired at the thought of having to mediate through their tension. At least the deer they had caught was big, and the pelt looked mostly undamaged. It would be a good addition to the nursery for Isis and Jazzlyn. Once the deer had been moved she called the three wolves over "Kiche, Raphael, you may have heard of my brothers here. Illumi and Killua were sent to tidy up a loose end over in one of the other packs. Brothers meet my other delta, Kiche, and Raphael. You will see our healer when she returns from herb gathering" She gave Raphael a warning glance, knowing that his unwavering loyalty to the debt he owed them could lead to him being overprotective if he was suspicious of Illumi or Killua. She trusted Kiche to be more level headed. Turning her gaze to Kiche, she said "Kismet will be gone for a while. I've had to send him on back to the main pack as Shadow had need for him. Until he returns, you will be acting as Beta in his place. Can I trust you to do that?" her steely gold webbed eyes said she wouldn't accept a no. Meruem withheld from looking at Artemis, since her sister probably wouldn't appreciate being overlooked for a she-wolf who wasn't pack born, but Meruem had her reasons.

Illumi | Gamma | Mentions Killua and Kiche
The corners of Illumi's mouth turned upwards in a small smile when he was introduced to the other wolves. The dark brown wolf with the yellow eyes was practically begging for a challenge, not that Illumi would give one to him. He had no desire to fall out of favour with Meruem. Family ties meant nothing to the brindled alpha when it came to dishing out punishment. The she-wolf next to Raphael looked more sensible though he enjoyed seeing the confusion on her face. It reminded him of when he had shown himself at Sunrise pack. That had been a fun day. He dipped his black head in greeting and hoped Killua would continue with this nice act. Killu had been giving everyone a good dose of his cockiness today and Illumi wasnt in the mood to pick up the pieces later. They were so joined at the tails that what came from Killuas actions affected his ink pelted brother as well. "Nice to meet you, new blood." he said in a light voice.

Shayla | mentions Coy

Shayla cocked her head as Meruems familiar howl rose into the air, filling the atmosphere with its throbbing command to return. "Guess thats for us as well," she sighed, and ran ahead to mark one of the last remaining border marks. "That should do I think." Padding over to her white furred companion, she glanced at him unsurely. Coy was usually quiet so she couldn't tell if his silence now was a natural thing or if what Killua had said had actually gotten to him. Some males were too proud to accept comfort from wolves they didnt know well but she was too kind to refrain from saying nothing at all. If he had taken the cruel jibes to heart, Killua would have a harder time being accepted by the new pack. "If it's any help," she started tentatively "rabbits aren't all that bad. And if you're a rabbit, then Killua is a sheep. Have you seen that pelt of his?" she smiled. "Sometimes I think he walks through a bramble patch upon awakening to get that exact look."
