I don't think I've improved much -- I'm actually almost 100% sure I've hit a plateau. It's frustrating, angering, but I'm trying to move past it and try new things to see if it'll effect my progress any.

You are though --- and the reason is, you have a better sense of colour than I do. I can't decipher colours very well, and that leads me to not being able to colour or shade as well as someone of your or Xy's caliber. It sucks, but I'm trying my best to work past it!

I'm so happy that you made this thread :) I love seeing how other people have improved over the years, I find it so amazing how much someone can improve in just a year and then thinking how even more amazing their artwork will be in just another few years!

Thank you so much, Feather, for making this! You have no idea how inspiring it is to see everyone else's staggering improvement. You and several others on this thread have me floored with how quickly you improved, and how drastic that improvement is! It's motivational beyond words to encourage me to keep going and step it up a notch. It's hard for me to quit procrastinating and actually sit down and draw, and I don't do it anywhere near as much as I want to. Regardless, I like to think I've made a decent amount of progress in the past couple of years. It really slows down during the school year but between June and September is where I have way too much free time and will doodle for hours daily. Summer is where I make the most rapid progress because it's harder to hesitate or get distracted.

Anyways. Here's my digital art progress. Obviously traditional always looks more natural to me, but I don't have pictures of those readily available, so. :p

Like.. Two weeks ago? Not the same amount of detail [reference sheet=no shading], but for the contrast in canine anatomy from 2012 to now.

Still nowhere where I want to be, but better than I was one or two years ago, that's for sure. cx
