I thought I'd post this here, since I see so many people who see no improvement in their own art, even though in reality you're improving every time you draw. This is the improvement I've made in the space of a year. January 2015January 2016You WILL get better, please have total faith in yourself and practise. Don't lose your passion and drive for art. <3 0 players like this post! Like? |

@Lum Yes, it may work. But that doesn't mean it will work for me; so, in turn, it doesn't work. For me. @Xylax Fine, I'm unsubscribing anyway. I'm not trying to hear anything specific, if you just know. You're the ones who offered me advice, I never asked for it. Bye 0 players like this post! Like? |

This i amazing O_o I like drawing traditional. I'm not good at it tho, but i don't really care about that. My drawings did improve a bit (the animals their faces aren't just a circle anymore xD), and now i also draw (or try) paws and feet, i usually hid them behind rocks or so xD I think in a few years my artwork will become a bit better, so they don't look like a pile of shit anymore. My digital arts are just horrible. I rather not blind people. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Dang, all of the improvements in here <3 Feather, if your art has improved MASSIVELY within that short span of time, I can only imagine what your art is going to look like this time next year! As for me, I was generally very unhappy with my art at the beginning of 2015.. (December 2014-January 2015-ish) So, I dedicated 2015 to drawing for MYSELF, and trying to doodle something every day to improve. I'd like to think that the time I took for myself provided with great results! (January 2016) However, I know I'm not totally done improving, and I'm ALWAYS looking up tutorials and asking myself how can I improve something. Remember, if you put enough time in effort into something, you'll see results you'll be satisfied with. You don't get instantly better overnight, you get better by using resources (whether if it's a tutorial online, a life drawing class, or even a speedpainting). Don't stay in the mindset of "everyone's better than me, there's no point in trying to push myself", be open to advice and critiques, even if they don't seem very helpful. 0 players like this post! I don't have a lot to say on this topic, but damn Feather, you've inspired me. c: My art is pretty shoddy now, and I know it takes lots of practice. I'm hoping to start dedicating a couple hours daily to try and work at my art. c: 0 players like this post! Like? |

Edit: Wait, this post ate all my text! Hold on a second; okay, that seems to be better now. I did these back in 2012 as I was a big Monster Hunter fan but never really picked up the tablet or drew again so as a result, any progress I made has gone back to the beginning. I'm thinking of changing my mind after seeing everyone's progress in this thread, particularly Feather in how gorgeous her artwork is! You are all an inspiration with this thread! 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 30/01/16 @ 13:52:07 by Xaldin (#54803) |

@Feather - I think this is the proudest moment of artists's life when they hear they inspired somebody. Torquil maybe just made Feather's day? :D lovely to see that happen Edit: The griffin and dragon progresses also show that both of you studied anatomy and evolved in style, 10/10 0 players like this post! -hugs Necro- ^_^ <3 Please do show me your digital art at some point! I can confidently say no art is a 'pile of shit', EVER. Oops, I love the dark sketchy style on the latest example. Excellent work, well done on your improvement! Emrys/Torq, I am so glad to hear that! ; w; Please do show me your art when you feel comfortable, I would love to see it and your regular progress! I am also 100% up for helping anyone if they would like to PM me. In the evenings I can always find some time to do a redline for anyone who would like it! For free, of course! 0 players like this post! Like? |

@Necro I use Manga Studio, sometimes photoshop. I know a lot of people use things like Gimp and SAI, since they're free. There's also FireAlpaca! 0 players like this post! Like? |
